Good Read on a Short Book

The number one take away from a Hot To book is to take away from practical advice from the text. The other for a great job of providing actionable steps to the reader in clear, concise language. As a reader, I feel more 'in the know' about taking on a creative project such as blogging. Very brief read, meaningful highlights, and no wasted time spent on unnecessary anecdotes. 5 stars for style, simplicity, options, tips, and vocabulary

Short and pithy

Definitely stretching the general definition of a ‘book’ at 36 pages at least it didn’t take long to read. The style is simple and pithy, the content obvious and generic, and the end result disappointing and almost zero value. Don’t waste your money or your time, surf the web for more useful advice instead.

Basic Stuff

There’s a lot of books on blogging out there, and there’s not much of a reason to read this one. No “a ha” moments, not much useful info. Best thing is you can finish it in 10 minutes.

Great book with solid advice

This book provides everything it promised. A view into the world of blogging for profit without the promise of a get rich quick plan. Realistic expectation setting and honest advice about what can work while not making unrealistic promises.

This is a short, basic book that not only explains how to start a blog, but also what it takes to be successful, keep your content going, and eventually how you can profit from it. While the book is tailored for beginners, people who already have a blog going and might not be having the success that they'd like, could possibly pick up some pointers too.

The author recommends having your content planned two months ahead of time and your posts ready two weeks ahead. You must pick a topic that you are really passionate about so that you can create great content and you should commit to writing every day. He reminds the reader that there are a bazillion blogs out there and you must continue posting exceptional content to set yours apart.

It begins with using Word press to set up your blog and get it running. After that there are a lot of suggestions on topics such as creating good content, luring traffic to your blog, establishing a network with other bloggers who are posting similar content and the etiquette involved, growing your platform, especially through an email list, and a host of other tips. It winds up with how to get to the point of profiting from your blog and possibly reaching the pinnacle of making your living from it.

I felt that the book was a worthwhile read for someone thinking about starting a blog and even for someone who has one going and would be open to additional advice. The biggest thing that I took away from the book was the food for thought for someone considering a blog. The reader learns about the time and commitment needed for success. You must not only be passionate about your subject, you must have the drive to make your blog succeed. What about drive? Do you have it?

Good very quick read!

I read this book in about 30 minutes. Informative and to the point. My biggest takeaway is that a blog must create value for the reader. Didn't over-hype his other materials.

Good book with good points but very basic

Perfect for people who want to start blogging if you are already into it and have a bit of experience, probably the book will be a bit too basic. Anyway it is a free book and a quick read so just read it ;)

Very basic

This is another very basic read on the topic. Along with several others, they are a good beginning for new writers or bloggers.
