After surviving a vicious attack in the woods, Tori Campbell awakes to her worst nightmare—her son and his two friends are missing. She calls the one person she knows she can trust, her late husband’s best friend, former DEA agent Michael Lane. Together with his search-and-rescue K-9, they must track the boys and figure out who took them—and why. Only, the Indiana wilderness is full of dangers beyond their abductor. Can Michael and Tori find the teens…even if it means falling into a sinister trap?
Award-winning, bestselling author Sami Abrams grew up hating to read. It wasn’t until her 30’s that she found authors that captured her attention. Now, most evenings, you can find her engrossed in a Romantic Suspense. In her opinion, a crime and a little romance is the recipe for a great story.
She lives in Northern California, but she will always be a Kansas girl at heart. She has a love of sports, family, and travel. However, a cabin at Lake Tahoe writing her next story is definitely at the top of her list.

I love the excitement and intrigue of a good thriller where someone goes missing. I don’t often reach for one with a missing child as it’s at my comfort boundary, but I trusted this author to deliver. She did. In spades.
I think I love this genre because of the demand on my intellectual curiosity and a chance to develop my nerves of steel (which are next to none) as my emotions are elevated with a sense of trepidation. What I love most is that Sami A Abrams's books are always a safe place and there’s always a tantalizing promise of hope.
When 32-year-old widowed Victoria Campbell planned on taking her teenage son and his two friends camping in the Wildfire State Forest, she never envisioned a fight for their lives. Her husband’s friend, Michael, and his golden retriever air-scent dog are called in to help locate the missing.
Abrams explores many of the insecurities we face; asking for help, fear of rejection, feelings of failure, and trusting others. She weaves these insecurities around her central themes of fear of not measuring up and the weariness of trying to live up to others’ expectations.
I loved the intrigue, the gripping plot, the thread of faith and the excellent, thrilling and suspenseful page-turner that kept me on the edge of my seat.
Abrams is an auto-read author for me.
I was gifted this copy and was under no obligation to provide a review.
A high-stakes adventure set against the backdrop of the unforgiving Indiana wilderness, Tracking the Missing delivers a fascinating, edge-of-your-seat experience. From the very first page, the tension pulls you in, and with every twist and turn, the urgency escalates.
What stands out is the emotional depth beneath the suspense. Tori’s unwavering determination to find her son and his friends is powerful, but it’s the rawness of her journey—navigating grief, fear, and hope—that gives the story its pulse. Michael, too, is a character who feels real, weighed down by past struggles, yet still willing to dive headfirst into a mission that will test his every limit. Together, their uneasy partnership grows into something much more, showing that even the most difficult paths can lead to unexpected places.
The wilderness is a character in itself, looming large and unpredictable. Abrams creates an atmosphere where every shadow could hide a new danger, and that sense of peril lingers with each chapter. And then there’s Ducky—Michael’s search-and-rescue K-9, whose instincts and loyalty add a unique layer to the team. Ducky helps with the search and he brings moments of warmth and humor that balance the heavier moments.
The pace never slows, keeping readers invested from start to finish, with enough emotional depth to make the stakes feel personal. Tracking the Missing is a thrilling chase and it’s a story about resilience, second chances, and faith.
I received a digital ARC of this book from the author and JustRead Publicity Tours, LLC. I am not required to write a positive review nor paid to do so. This is my honest and unbiased review. My thoughts and opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the writing and story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.
Tracking the Missing is a high suspense and mystery with a second chance at love added. It has everything you want in a suspense novel-an absolute page-turner. I finished it in one sitting.
The characters are amazing, intense with many layers. Due to their strengths, as well as their flaws, they became real to me. The setting of wintertime in the mountains, added an extra element of concern for the missing.
Michael's dog, Ducky, a search and rescue, never ceased to amaze me with his incredible instinct. Michael and Tori were both going through some emotional and physical setbacks that made them dig deep to resolve. The Christian element woven into the story gave it an even deeper meaning and touched my heart as I read.
I received a complimentary copy from the author; a positive review is not required. All opinions are my own.
Five stars all the way! I loved this story! Lately, I had been trudging through my reads , having a hard time finding one I enjoyed. So after reading my last read, I was determined to start a book I was sure would be a 5 star read. And sure enough, this one hit the mark! I loved it!!! The PERFECT balance between suspense and romance and it totally kept me turning pages.
In this story, Tori takes her son and his friends camping only to awake to find out they've been kidnapped. Not knowing where to turn, she turns to her late husbands best friend and her closest friend, Michael. He's been there for her since she lost her husband, and she trusts him with her life. Michael promised his friend he would take care of Tori and their son... But Michael is struggling personally after an injury that mentally and physically impacted him. He is determined to make up for his shortcomings and is determined to help Tori. Tori and Michael are both struggling to let anyone in personally after what life has handed them... but the more time they spend with each other, the more those walls come down, with caution. But before they can even consider what these new feelings mean, they need to figure out who is after Toris family, why the boys were taken, and how to get them back!!!
You all! Do NOT miss this story!!! You'll regret it, it you do!
I recieved a complimentary copy of this book. But it in no way influenced this review.
Although Tori Campbell is not a big fan of camping, she takes her teenaged son Joey and his two friends because Joey has been down lately. What no one anticipates is that a man will kidnap the boys and threaten to kidnap Tori. She escapes and calls her dead husband's best friend Michael Lane for help.
Because of health and PTSD problems caused by a boat explosion, Michael has distanced himself from Tori, his former DEA team, and former military unit. His golden retriever and SAR dog, Ducky, has been helping pull him through. Now because Tori and Joey need him, he and Ducky rush to help. They did not expect to be shot at with guns and arrows, be in the middle of a DEA raid, or to find a dead body. Who has taken the boys and tried to kill Tori and Michael? Is it the drug runners? Someone from Tori's past? From Michael's past?
Abrams kept the tension high and the relationships blossoming as the characters developed. I enjoyed the story and will read more by her.
3.5 stars Loved the mystery and the fantastic dog!!
Tracking the Missing is a page turner! A fast-paced inspirational romantic suspense story. Tori Campbell takes her son and two friends camping. She wakes up to the nightmare of the boys missing and an attacker who gives her a concussion. She calls her deceased husband’s best friend, former DEA agent Michael Lane. Together they search for three kidnapped teens while running from an attacker. Michael finds out there are drug runners in the area as well.
It was a physical and emotional journey for both Tori and Michael. The characters really lean into their misperceptions about themselves and it was good to finally see them work through it together and with renewed faith. Ducky, the golden retriever search & rescue is also surprisingly a fantastic service dog. He stole the show and I loved reading about him.
Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.
“Good boy.” Michael reached into his cargo pants pocket and extracted a dog biscuit from the handful he’d resupplied earlier. “That deserves a treat.” The dog took the offered food and gulped it down. “Dude, ever hear of chewing first?” Typical Ducky, a canine vacuum.
This was another well-written read by Sami Abrams, full of surprises and a healthy helping of clean humor.
Negative Content
A person thinks they could have sworn a dog was smiling.
A mention that someone grinned like a fool.
There is a few mentions of a man's past playboy reputation, but this happened before the book started, and he had repented and turned to God since then.
Someone thinks that most—probably all—law enforcement officers had inappropriate humor at times. It kept them sane when things around them turned ugly.
........... Trigger Warnings
Some mentions of head injuries, but no real details. ................................
Tracking The Missing is a brilliantly written read by Sami Abrams, and one that I would be glad to buy a paperback of one day.
I received a complimentary e-book from JustRead Publicity Tours and was not required to write a positive review, and the thoughts above are my own.
Oh wow!! Ms. Abrams pulled me in from the very beginning to the end of the story. I enjoyed reading about the wonderful characters. While camping Tori Campbell is attacked. Her son and his two friends are taken. Former DEA agent Michael Lane and his K-9 come to Tori's rescue. K-9 Ducky is my favorite character. He will steal your heart. This story has all the elements I love in a book. Exciting, intense, heart stopping suspense, finding your faith again, with unexpected twists and turns and a little romance. I couldn't put this story down!! I was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
Tracking the Missing, the thirteenth book in the great multi-author K-9 Search and Rescue series, is a fast-paced, exciting inspirational romantic suspense story. Packed with action and adventure this trek through the Indiana Wildfire State Forest in search of three kidnapped teens while running from an unknown attacker and possibly ruthless drug runners nabbed my attention immediately and kept me reading anxiously to see what happened next. I love selfless, independent, tenacious heroine Tory and her determination to find her son and his friends. Ex-DEA agent Michael who suffers with emotional issues of self-doubt and physical challenges related to vertigo and PTSD touched my heart. I especially appreciate Michael’s journey to renewed faith as he struggles to let go of his insecurities and trust God. I enjoyed meeting K-9 Ducky the golden retriever search and rescue/service dog. Romantic undertones add another layer of interest to the story. I totally enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. Note: Each book in the series can be read as a standalone. I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher with no obligation to write a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Tracking The Missing is an epic story. Tori needs her husband's best friend, Michael, who's an ex DEA agent, help in finding them. Her son and his friends have been kidnapped. But why is the question. Is it drug runners? Maybe because Michael's DEA friend is involved and also trying to help recover the boys. Someone from Michael's past when he was an agent? Or something far more sinister. Who knows, but someone is determined to kill them, and as they get closer to the answer, the danger grows. This book was a real page turner! And what an ending!!
This was the first Love Inspired Romance book I've ever read, and I loved it!
The characters in this book were realistic and relatable. I especially loved the character of Ducky, Michael's sweet golden retriever that works both as a search and rescue dog, and a emotional/ physical support dog. I'd love if Ducky showed up in a later book. :)
I liked the faith content in this book too, and how both main characters had struggles but eventually grew closer to God because of them. I also liked the Bible verse that the author referenced on the title page. (Psalms 46:1- "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.")
This is the kind of book you'll want to read as quick as possible, so grab your coffee, a blanket, and a cozy seat to read this book from cover to cover!
Thank you to the author and Harlequin (Love Inspired Romance) Publishing for the complimentary signed paperback I received to review through Just Read Tours. I was not required to write a positive review, and the thoughts above are my own.
Tori is trying to survive widowhood by throwing herself into being a good mom to their son. Her decision to go on a camping trip seems like a good idea, until she wakes up after the first night and finds the three teens who accompanied her missing. And somehow her head is injured. She has no choice but to call in her husband’s best friend, former DEA agent Michael Lane and his companion and intuitive dog Ducky. The trail to finding the teens puts both of them in real danger and more than once, Ducky’s brilliant survival skills lead them to safety. I loved the pace of the story, the twists and turns that never stopped and the budding romance between the two reluctant participants. With a realistic addition of drugs being moved through the forest, bad weather coming in and friends who can be counted on to help out, this book was unputdownable and a quick, totally engaging read. Jump into an exciting story as you follow the two main characters through danger and drama. Tori Campbell, a widow and single mom, is desperate to find her missing son and his two friends, who were attacked while camping. Her husband’s best friend, former DEA agent Michael Lane, comes to her aid, but their efforts are continually thwarted as they risk their lives in their attempt to rescue the teens. The gripping nonstop action kept me engaged and intrigued. This suspense novel offers a great winter read (or anytime, for that matter). I received a copy from the author for review. All opinions are my own.
get lost in the wilderness with tracking the missing by sami a. abrams!
it was supposed to be a fun camping trip... but a vicious attack forces tori campbell on a desperate search for her missing son and his friends. she has the help of her late husband's friend, michael lane, and his search-and-rescue k-9—but will they be able to find the boys before the danger finds them?
tracking the missing is full of twists and turns. it's fast-paced and suspenseful and ultimately, uplifting, as tori and michael follow the golden retriever following the trail—and contend with their pasts, secrets, faith, and feelings along the way. i enjoyed the romance and the suspense, and i'm sure that other romantic-suspense readers in need of a quick, solid read could, too.
(i received a complimentary copy from the publisher. i was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions i have expressed are my own.)
considerations: —language: none —spice: kisses only —faith: mentions of God and prayer —content: violence, missing children, disability, mentions of spousal loss, drug smuggling and addiction
*****I received this audiobook free from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
I loved this book! Of course I wanted to read it because of the dog on the cover. This book was action packed! When a call comes in for 2 missing youth out camping the search team funds out there is more sinister things going on. A gripping story!!!
Wow, this started out as a doozy. In fact, it started out with every mother's worst nightmare. Widow Tori Campbell was just trying to lift her teenage son's spirits and so she set up a camping trip with him and two of his best buds. Then the nightmare begins. An attack, and they are missing.
First of all, I don't like camping, so I felt her pain in going through with that plan. Second the hero, Michael Lane, is dealing with his PTSD issues and lingering trauma which is causing issues. Especially his inner ear balance. I related with him as I also have ear issues and find myself dizzy at times. So, things are already stacked up against them including the vast wilderness they must tract and the fact that they may have stumbled onto a drug cartel's run.
This story did not let up for a second. Connecting with both characters and feeling their panic as they are running out of time to save the boys, throw in Ducky, his search and rescue dog and you have a story that is hard to put down. I also found some of the relationships interesting but never mess with a Mama bear's kid. This was a story I not only connected with but one I got lost in with the characters.
I was provided a copy of this novel from the author. I was not required to post a positive review, and all views and opinions are my own.
"What had she done to become the target of a madman?" This is all that goes through Tori Campbell's mind after she wakes up to a nightmare. Her son Joey and his two friends, Andrew and Kurt, went missing, and Tori got viciously attacked and was forced to run away for her life. With no one else to turn, she is forced to call former DEA agent Michael Lane. With the help of Michael and his K-9 dog, Ducky, they must be able to survive the drug runners and trained killers after them in order to help find the missing teens, and be able to figure out who is really after them and why.
Sami A. Abrams wrote a masterfully blended story of suspense, mystery, nail biting action, incredible characters, and the amazing K-9 furball Ducky! I loved the character development between Tori and Michael, and I loved how Tori grew her faith with God during a very tough situation! I also loved how right when you let your guard down, something fatal and threatening was always looming in the wooded darkness!!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
Tori Campbell took her son and two of his friends camping off Broken Arrow Trail, but in the middle of the night, she woke to strange noises and found the boys battered on the ground outside. Armed with a gun, she crawled out of her tent, only to be attacked and lose consciousness as the boys were dragged away by their assailant. By sheer grace, she briefly regained the strength to call her and her deceased husband's friend, former DEA agent Michael Lane, and share her general location before blacking out again.
I was immediately sucked into the woods with Tori, feeling her emotions as she did anything she could to find her son. This book was a nail-biter all the way through. The air of mystery around the attacker and the things that Tori and Michael had to fight in the woods put me on edge (in a good way). While a forced proximity trope, the closeness only made them deal with emotions that had been percolating for some time. I appreciated Tori’s struggles with relationships and God and could relate to the way she was feeling. The description of Michael’s PTSD and the comfort that his golden retriever air-scent dog, Ducky, brought him made this cat-lover want a dog pretty badly.
This book is so good I didn’t want to put it down! This is my first introduction to Abrams work and I can’t wait to read more. This is a great read for anyone who likes on-the-edge-of-your-seat suspense that keeps you guessing.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All opinions are my own.
Tracking the Missing is the 13th book in the K-9 Search and Rescue series but can absolutely be enjoyed as a standalone as well.
What an exciting read this one was! Right from the start, this story drew me right in and kept me at the edge of my seat. I love stories that don't take long for the action to start, and this one certainly fit that bill. A vicious attack and three missing teenagers... talk about a way to start a story! There's definitely something about having kids being the ones missing that elevates the suspense in a story--- especially as a mother. Of course, the romance between Tori and Michael was fantastic and had the perfect balance with the suspense. I couldn't help but find myself rooting for these two and wanting to see how everything would work out. Blend in a wonderful message of faith and there was so much to enjoy in this story.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
A riveting and unique story written by an exceptional author in the Inspirational Romantic Suspense genre . . .
Young war widow and single parent, Tori Campbell, somehow becomes embroiled in a cat-and-mouse chase of the most serious nature. While on a camping trip in the wilderness of Indiana with her son and his two best friends, things get dicey on the second night when strangers enter their camp and wreak havoc.
Tori discovers the three teens are missing when she awakens after being attacked by an unknown assailant. This is the beginning of a very tense, action-packed adventure to find the boys and to figure out why Tori is being hunted down and why.
After she settles down a bit, Tori contacts her late husband's best friend and military buddy, Michael Lane, to get some help. He has a lot of personal issues of his own to deal with, but in keeping with his promise to Ryan, Tori's late husband, Michael immediately agrees to come to her aid.
Michael is not alone; he brings along his search-and-rescue K-9, Ducky. Ducky is a well-trained, intelligent, loyal scent-trained canine that possesses a special ability to comfort Michael and anyone else who is in distress. Ducky was my favorite character in the story because the author gave him a distinctive personality and presence on every page on which he appeared.
The complex nature of the plot made the ending of this story a complete surprise—an element which will please fans of this genre. The action scenes were unique and well-written. I felt the faith thread in the story was realistic with one character nudging another in the right direction toward renewing a previously close relationship with God. The book is completely clean in language and content.
I received a copy of this book from the author through JustRead Publicity Tours. All of my thoughts and opinions shared here are solely my own.
Tracking the Missing is a K9 search and rescue story written by Sami A. Abrams. I was so excited to see a new release by an author I’ve followed since her debut. This story starts out with heart pounding action and suspense and doesn’t let up the whole time.
Tori is a widow. She was married young at age 18. Immediately her husband took custody of his 2 year old brother. They raised him like he was their own. Now she’s a widow. She decides to take Joey and two of his friends camping since he seems down. When she goes to sleep one night she wakes up and finds the campsite in shambles and she’s attacked. The boys are missing.
Her husband always told her that if she needed anything to contact Michael. They had served together and he promised to always look after Tori. He is able to track her down with the assistance of his tracking dog, Ducky. Ducky is literally the best. The authors description of Ducky and his antics made me smile.
They soon find out that they are camped super close to a known drug running trail. It becomes evident that someone or someone’s will not stop until they are eliminated. Tori and Michael need to work together and find the missing boys.
Well written, action packed, detailed descriptions I loved this story. The characters are well developed. The storyline is engaging.
Thank you to the author, publisher and JustRead Publicity Tours for allowing me to read a copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
Tracking the Missing certainly kept me on the edge of my seat. It's action-packed and suspenseful. Tori has always felt that she has to be strong and self-reliant, because she believes that's what others think she must be. Michael suffers from PTSD as well as inner-ear issues, in addition to always feeling he's not good enough, and always lets everyone down. Michael's dog is more than just a Search and Rescue dog. By instinct, he is also an emotional support dog. Everything that Tori and Michael go through during their search for Tori's son and his friends kept me reading, often late into the night, to find out what happens. Will they find the boys alive and well? If you like suspense, and K-9s, you will want to read this book!
Tracking the Missing by Sami A. Abrams is a thrilling romantic suspense with an inspirational message that I could really relate to. This Love Inspired Suspense is part of the K-9 Search and Rescue series written by multiple authors. I’m all in when it comes to this type of book! I loved the wilderness setting, the Search and Rescue Golden Retriever (how adorable!), and the friends to more romance trope.
Tori Campbell became an instant mom when she married her high school sweetheart at the age of 18. She and her new husband took custody of his 2 year old brother Joey, and for all intents and purposes, Tori is his mom. Since her husband’s death 6 years ago, Tori’s been doing everything herself. She’s a strong woman, but she’s become super-focused on doing it all. She doesn’t ask for help even though her husband’s former military friends have offered their help.
Tori has also become disillusioned in her walk with God. She feels as if He’s let so many bad things happen in her life, and that He’s let her down. She’s angry. I get it. When my husband died, even though I held on to my faith, I was mad at God. When Joey, now a teenager, and his two friends go missing during an attack at their camping site, Tori finds herself remembering how close she once was to God through her prayer life, and she begins to cling to His promises once again.
When the teens go missing, the first person Tori calls is Michael, a former DEA agent who had to leave his job after an explosion left him with PTSD and an inner-ear issue that affects his balance. This led to him getting his dog, Ducky, whom people assume is just his SAR dog. However, Ducky also helps Michael with his balance and anxiety. Tori knows Michael will help because he’s been the closest to her and Joey since her husband’s death.
I loved all of the suspense in Tracking the Missing! Abrams' writing makes you feel as if you’re in the middle of the action. You never know what is coming next. Will they find the teens? Will they be hurt? Alive? Add to that the fact that the part of the forest they’re in is along a drug-runners trail! It’s really exciting, and I loved how this situation ended! It also made Tori and Michael realize that they’ve got feelings for each other that are more than friendship.
I highly recommend Tracking the Missing for its thrilling suspense, well-written characters, dangerous setting, the theme of returning to faith, and the romantic elements. 5 stars!

Ducky, Sweet Ducky. Tracking the Missing is the latest from Sami A. Abrams and it is full of action, suspense, mystery. And yes, wonderful Ducky. You will love the story, the characters and especially Ducky.
I received an advanced reader’s copy from the author. Opinions are my own.
This book has it all. Intriguing story & characters. Suspense, romance, and inspiration. The story line was very interesting from the story. I didn’t put the book down, I read it in one day.
The story characters are Tori & Michael, and Michael’s beloved K9, Ducky. Michael has battle scars emotional with PSTD from his time in the service and Ducky has become such a wonderful companion to him. Ducky made me love dogs, especially K9’s even more. I was on the edge of my seat with this fast paced suspenseful mystery.

TRACKING THE MISSING by Sami A. Abrams is the 13th book in the K-9 Search and Rescue series. It’s the suspenseful, page-turning story of Victoria “Tori” Campbell and Michael Lane as they try to figure what happened to three teenage boys, including Tori’s son. Who has them, why did they take them, and where they are? While trying to find the answers and the boys, they’ll have to fight hard just to stay alive themselves.
Tori went to live with her grandparents at an early age when both her parents died. While they loved her, they were ill-equipped to deal with the energy needed to raise a child. To prevent stress, Tori learned at an early age to be what others expected of her, not to rock the boat and to hold her emotions to herself. Married at the age of 18, becoming the automatic mother of her husband’s 2-year-old brother and then a wife to a military man often deployed had her growing up fast. Widowed 6 years ago, she’s learned to carrying on with the same pattern of how to deal with things that she learnt early in life. Realizing the stress Joey was under after the death of the brother that raised him as his own, Tori bit back her fear of the woods and took him and his two best friends on a hiking/camping trip. A trip that went wrong – very wrong – and that left her injured to the extent of passing out and waking up to find all three boys missing.
Michael, former DEA agent, has isolated himself so others wouldn’t be able to figure out what a mess he really is. During an explosion that took the life of his best friend, Tori’s husband, he was left with injures that caused vertigo due to inner ear troubles and PTSD. The best thing that’s happened to him was when Roger Howe, who owns a dog training service, gave him Toby, his German shepherd tracking dog, who turned out to be a great companion and extremely valuable as service dog to him. Michael’s always felt that nothing he does is good enough and that all he seems to do is disappoint those he’s around. It started with his parents, who not willing to accept the line of work he’s felt drawn to, disowned him. Then there the girlfriend he could never please no matter what he did. Lately, he’s ashamed of not upholding his end of the promise he made to his best friend to see to his family if anything happened to him. But how could he help them when he can’t seem to help himself? When he got the call from Tori asking for his help, he knew that was all going to change. He would do anything for Tori and Joey including laying down his life for them.
With a major DEA drug raid in the works, sending in rescue teams in search for the missing boys isn’t an option. Too much of a chance of innocent folks getting hurt or worse. Until the raid, it’s entirely up to Michael and Tori to find the boys and bring them home safely. Can working side by side have them each realizing that in order to help others that you have to be true to yourself first? Will they be able to find the boys and bring them home safely? With Tori seemingly having lost her faith, will Michael’s faith be enough for them both until he can show her back to hers? Will the stress and events of the situation and learning to depend on each other to have their back have their emotions revealing feelings neither dare dream to be true? Can they find the boys and bring them home? What condition will the be in when they find them? Will they ever find the answer of who is doing all this and why?
TRACKING THE MISSING is an exceptional and inspirational suspense story that you won’t be able to put down once you start reading it. The characters may have personal flaws, but you will very rapidly become enamored with them pulling for them to not only be successful in their endeavors but also for a bright future for them – together. Sami A. Abrams delivers a story of forgiveness of oneself, being willing to open yourself to others, family, love knowing no boundaries, sometimes to see ourselves that we have to look through the eyes of someone else, to trust even when it’s the hardest thing to do, sweet romance and wraps it all in a magnificent thread of faith. TRACKING THE MISSING is positively a FIVE STAR story that I highly recommend to everyone! Although part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone book – as all the wonderful books in this series can be.
I receive an ARC of this book with no requirement or expectations of a review. All opinions are completely my own. #TrackingTheMissing # K9SearchandRescue #SamiAAbrams #LoveInspiredSuspense #InspirationalRomance
I love a good read. Anything with suspense and some mystery and I’m hooked. This novel was unique in that our hero has some physical challenges and limitations that have prevented him from keeping his dream job. I don’t want to give away too much but this is a great novel and you will not regret reading it. Basically, he and our female character have a history in that he was in the military with her husband who is now deceased. So, they have a relationship and he is around to help her when he can because he feels he owes her a bit.
She has a son and is doing everything she can to maintain a relationship with him. It’s complicated. No, it really is. Because her son is actually her deceased husband’s brother who they adopted and have raised since they got married. See how this can get a little confusing yet?
Okay, so our main gal Tori takes her son and two of his friends out camping. But then she wakes up to them being accosted around the fire and she tries to save them only to wake up again from a head injury. The guy who abducted the boys says he’s coming back for her so she’s got to get help.
Tori calls Michael and he immediately comes to help her find the boys. As they get into the search things aren’t adding up and he calls for some back up of his own. Oh, and he’s got a sweet gorgeous and very fun dog that is his partner.
I don’t want to share much more because if I do I won’t be able to stop and will give away way too much. Just know you need to read this novel and once you start you can’t stop!

Love Inspired Suspense are always a good bet for a quick read that packs a punch!
Tracking the Missing by Sami A. Abrams truly hits the ground running in this fast pace read. When Tori, her son and his friends go camping and within moments - she is thrown against a tree, blacks out and awakens with her son and friends missing - a mother's worst nightmare. Can her late husband's best friend help keep her safe and find the boys - while dealing with his own issues? This was a 5 star read for sure!
K-9 Alaskan Defense: Hallmark Mysteries meets Cozy Mysteries in one, is a great way to describe any Love Inspired Suspense reads. K-9 Defense stays true to this statement. Not "paying attention" that this was part of a series and #14 to boot - it works as a stand alone. and I didn't feel like I was missing bits of information because of that.
The book starts out with the main female lead, Lilly and her dog, a former K-9 dog, discovering a dead body on the mountain top and from there on, someone is watching her and trying to take her out.
If you are a fan of cozy mysteries or Hallmark style movies - this read will not disappoint, You get a good, clean romance with suspense sprinkled in. Searching for Justice: This is my first book by author Valerie Hansen. Overall it was a good-quick read as a cozy mystery type of book. The main female lead, Brynn, had a rough childhood and ran from her past. Fast forward, she is back to her hometown as a SAR (Search and Rescue) for the local police department when she is looking for a missing person.
This book takes you on a lot of twist & turns and one out of left field discovery. Overall a good read and worth the time!
The suspense in Tracking the Missing beings from the first sentence builds tension the further along you read.
The bond between Michael and Tori seems so natural, it’s clear their relationship is pretty solid. I appreciate how Michael respects Tori’s need to handle things on her own yet is still there for her for support when she needs it. From the start, Michael seems like a real one. He’s one of those good guys that’s always doing the right thing and is there for you when you need him.
Being a mom of boys myself, I instantly identified with Tori and cannot imagine the absolute horror of your children being abducted. I also felt her feelings of always drawing the short stick on a visceral level, my heart aching right along with hers at all of the loss that she’s suffered.
This is a fairly generic story, but the characters help keep things interesting, not to mention the pair never seeming to catch a break. I was hoping for more twists that never came, and I wish the final “battle” would’ve had a little more intensity and not been concluded so quickly. We built up to this point the whole time, so I was hoping for a boom, but it was more like a quick pop.
Despite the busyness of the holiday season, I found this novel to be an easy and entertaining read that I could finish in one weekend and effortlessly enjoyed.
