Stuck with my Pack

Rate this book
One ex I never planned on seeing again.
Two Alphas who drive me crazy.
And a first heat I never thought I’d have…

Inheriting the Everhart Inn was never part of my plan, but here I am—back in Twilight Harbor, staring down the past I ran from.

And the first people I run into…

Ethan was my first love. My biggest mistake. He’s bigger, broodier, and even more gorgeous than I remember.
Tyler is the reformed bad boy with a cocky grin and hands that can fix everything.
And Brodie is the man who unravels me with a single look—and everything an Omega dreams of.

I thought I’d fix up the inn and leave. Then, a snowstorm traps us together.
Suddenly I’m in my first heat and instinct starts to take over.

I wasn’t looking for a pack.
But now I’m bonded, knotted, and at the mercy of my Alphas and a soft heart I didn't know I had.

Stuck With My Pack is a standalone MFMM Omegaverse, why choose romance with all the spicy feels and a swoony happily ever after.

The book was set in the Pacific Northwest specifically at the coast. Supposedly it gets really cold and snowy there when it actually doesn’t. Then the FMC says you’re right it doesn’t get cold and snowy this is rare. Then the FMC reminiscence about cold, snowy winters at the coast.

The book had a lot of potential however, it was very poorly executed. Each chapter had a recap from the previous chapter, which was completely unnecessary.

The characters were fine. But the development made no sense. The MMC’s were fighting and had a broken pack that lasted years. Then they go out and have a beer and it’s okay?

Then suddenly all the MMC’s are helping her fix her house for free? Like what? I know the author said it was gonna be a spicy book. But you can do spicy while also maintaining a plot. It almost felt like it was done with AI.

We also never learned why the FMC disappeared. Like that’s a pretty integral plot point that was missing. It’s the same thing over and over again. They go out somewhere for five minutes, reconcile, and the all is well. It makes no sense.

Again, the book had a lot of ways it could have gone. And it could’ve been really well done, but this was very poorly executed.

Not well developed, lack of plot. Lack of detail around every aspect of the characters lives except for the knotting. Conversation is sparse as it’s mostly internal dialogue. Where did the money come from to fix the house? Did Brodie stop working for his business for months to fix her house? Tyler was the “caretaker” of the property, but did he do anything else? Ethan has an orchard, but is it a business? Does anyone have friends in this book (except Lily)? Where did Sophie go when she left town so abruptly? Why did she leave town so abruptly without saying goodbye to anyone? I did not like the “shifter”aspects without shifters either (either they are or aren’t why the in between). There was no “act 3” problem to overcome my the MCs just a small skirmishes with a bully that ended in one small fight. There was no substance around the sex…but if you want 300 or so pages of sex, then this book is for you. Me, I like a well balanced book, and this ain’t it!

I was sent this as an ARC and thoroughly enjoyed reading it. The book is well written and the characters likeable. I am pretty new to the pack/alpha/omega genre of books, so wasn't sure what to expect, but I am more than willing to read more of Nora's books in the future.
My only criticism would be that, even though it was mentioned a couple of times that Sophie and Brodie had both left the town previously, it wasn't explained as to why this happened. Also, I would have liked a little more as to why Lily was in the situation she was in (though maybe she'll get her own book and that's why??).
All in all, I did really enjoy the book and if you are a fan of this type of story, that is sweet and spicy with a HEA, I encourage you to read it.

I received a free copy of "Stuck with my Pack" by Nora Quinn via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

After the death of her aunt, Sophie returns to the small town where she grew up to take over her inheritance, the old inn – a place with many fond memories. Although this is a promising beginning – a return to her roots, a meeting of past and present – the novel unfortunately does not give enough clues as to why she left the town in the first place or what she has done since, which would have helped us to understand Sophie's character better.

The fact that she would have started the renovation of the inn on her own seems rather unrealistic, especially as the book does not mention whether she has any experience, education, or qualifications to do such a thing. Then, of course, she quickly finds help – in the form of three alphas who are not only handsome but all play an important part in the story.

Ethan is her first love, so their reunion holds the promise of a second chance. It's a shame that we know little about their past – what happened, how they got separated, what they really had in the past before Sophie left the small town and with it the man – as this weakens the emotional weight of their relationship. Tyler is quite the bad-boy character, with a cheeky smile and strong chemistry towards Sophie – a dynamic that is intriguing but unfortunately remains somewhat shallow. Brodie is the embodiment of peace and security, whose presence is comforting to the protagonist – but he is not given enough depth either.

Overall, the three alpha characters, although their attraction to Sophie is strong and palpable, lack the depth to really get to know them and their personalities. It is also only vaguely mentioned why the bond between them has been neglected until now – though it could have been an interesting thread. The story of their friendship thus feels like an empty sketch.

As for the basic concept of the book – the omega and alpha dynamic – it unfortunately limits the characters rather than giving them depth. Although Sophie is supposed to be searching for herself, trying to suppress her omega self, and stressing the importance of her own choices, we do not actually see her unfold as a real, independent person. It is as if, despite her best efforts, she is still getting lost in her omega self, and we do not get to know who she really is, what she wants, and what drives her.

The novel relies heavily on physical attraction and sexual tension, but shows less of a real connection and mutual understanding between the characters. The question kept lingering in my mind: if it weren't for hormones, would these people still find each other?

Of the supporting cast, Lily is the only one worth mentioning – I found her character interesting, a single mother who, as an omega, is raising her newborn child alone, without a pack. This raises many questions, but the book doesn't answer them – though I would have liked to read more about her.

Overall, "Stuck with my Pack" is a book that had the potential to be an exciting, emotionally rich story, but unfortunately, it failed to really touch me because of the lack of development of the characters and the shallowness of the relationships. Good ideas, strong opening concepts – but sadly, the execution fell short of my expectations.

Had Potential, but Missed the Mark

As a longtime fan of Omegaverse, I went into this with high hopes—the premise had real promise. Unfortunately, it just didn’t come together the way I’d hoped.

The story opens with the FMC returning to town after abruptly leaving, but we never get a real explanation for her departure. That set the tone for a lot of unresolved or underdeveloped threads throughout the book. Ethan, the main love interest, spends most of the story unsure if he can be with her, only to suddenly change his mind with little buildup or emotional payoff. It felt rushed and inconsistent.

The pack dynamics, which should have been central, were barely explored. We’re told they’ve been strained for years, but all it takes is a single beer for things to magically be okay again? That just didn’t feel believable. There was also a potentially interesting subplot with Ethan’s sister and Brodie, but it gets dropped without resolution.

The Inn storyline could have been a compelling source of tension—the safety issues, the mysterious report—but instead, the whole thing gets brushed over with a week-long renovation montage and no answers about who reported them.

There were also issues with pacing and structure. There was a lot of repetition, odd time jumps, and moments where I genuinely couldn’t tell if something was happening in the present or being remembered. The writing could really benefit from a developmental edit.

And for those looking for spice—this wasn’t it. There was a little on-page knotting, but overall the steam level was pretty tame, especially for the genre.

This book isn’t without potential. With stronger character development, tighter plotting, and some attention to the pacing and romance arc, it could be a solid addition to the Omegaverse shelf. As it stands, though, it needs some work.

2.75⭐

I thought Taken by the Pack was alright, but this one wasn't that great. One, it feels like it doesn't belong in this series. It's not about the same place, and the writing feels very different. It's the same thing repeated a lot. Not story line, but internal thoughts, repeating how they feel or how something smells. It almost felt like the book was padded to make it longer? I'm not sure. Also sometimes the motivation seemed off or things didn't fit with their personalities.

I hesitated to give it 3, I didn't DNF because I really try not to do that. I did kind of skim and skip ahead a couple of times.

I am just starting the third in the series now, but I really feel like if this was edited it would fit in much better with the series. Also it could be adjusted to be in the same location.

I do agree with someone else that the location seemed weird, like given weather, what's being grown, the landscape it didn't seem right. 😂 Though I am GREAT at suspending disbelief so that was the least of what bothered me.

A Heartfelt Story of Growth and Second Chances

I liked this story set in Twilight Harbor. Sophie returns to take over her aunt’s old inn, even though she’s an unbounded omega who doesn’t fit the usual mold. The inn is falling apart, and so are the relationships between the alphas tied to it.

Tyler, the caretaker, is protective despite carrying scars from his past. Ethan, Sophie’s ex, owns the orchard next door and hasn’t forgotten that she left without saying goodbye. Brodie, the adventurous alpha, drifts in and out of town but still has a connection here.

I enjoyed seeing how Sophie helped bring these three former packmates back together while also finding her own strength and realizing she isn’t broken. The snowy blizzard and surprise heat added tension to the story, and I appreciated how each character showed growth along the way.

Overall, a solid read with characters who work through their past and come out stronger together.

Okay maybe it’s me but this story made me confused because of different things.

- The fmc meets Brodie (one of the MMC’s) for the first time, but before he tells her his name she calls him Brodie multiple times on page (Brodie’s lips twitch into a grin, “But Brodie’s gaze doesn’t waver,”). How can she knows his name if they haven’t met?
- The story between Ethan ( one of the mmc’s) and the FMC. This is a second change and there is an back story…but what happened? This story, the explanation felt so unfinshed.
- It’s an MFMM story but at the start there was a strange “vibe” between Brodie & Tyler.
- Where is the on page communication? I know Omegaverse can be speed up with things but it’s from “are we interested” too “i love her” but it’s almost only knotting on page…
- Her friend is a new mom and the FMC “forgets” to ask her how everything goes…?

Easy read. It was almost cozy even, but there were just so many gaps in the story.

My complaints: There was an obvious heartbreak in the past between Sophie and Ethan that was never truly explained; Lily just took her back as a friend and seemed to just be constantly available for someone who disappeared without a trace years ago; Sophie never really forms a relationship with Tyler or Brodie, it’s just sort of insta-lust to love (although I really liked Brodie despite all this); the pace was a little too fast; the third act enemy alphas who never had a backstory and were never seen again was pointless; how is she so strong but also somewhat clueless; and there were too many typos and grammar mistakes throughout.

I just can’t in good conscience rate it any higher, but it had its cute moments

For lovers of hard-won romance, a little bit of spice and low-angst.
This was very much story driven and the spice didn’t occur until later, allowing you to get to know the characters…
I don’t want to play favourites (too much), but Brodie 😍 and Tyler 😘 were goals. It took time for me to warm up to Ethan, but once he was onboard, it was all systems go!

I’ve read a few omegaverse stories, and this would easily rank in the top few that I read. That we didn’t just instantly jump to smut was a BIG win for me… The author did well on building the universe, and I really felt the emotions of the characters. a
And I foresee Lily’s story in the (hopefully) not too distant future??.

This was my first experience with this author & the story had the right hook. It follows Sophie, an Omega coming home to restore the Everhart Inn, what she didn't expect was to meet 2 Alphas that make her body do crazy things. To top it off, she is also reunited with her ex. Ethan I didn't really feel the connection between Sophie & Ethan, but there was straight fire between her, Brodie & Tyler. There were a lot of timeline questions that confused me & thing said that didn't make a great deal of sense. The stories content was very graphic, spending a great deal of time in the "Nest". I think the story was good, but needs some work. I will definitely give the author a second chance. Enjoy!

I wish it was better

This book was okay. Honestly I felt like there was so much jumping around. We never found out why Sophie left in the first place, what happened between her and Ethan and what happened between the three guys. This book had a lot of potential but there was to many missing points to where the story didn’t even make sense. Every chapter had a recap from the chapter before which was unnecessary and annoying. The characters were not bad but there was a lot that didn’t make sense like the male characters having a broken pack and then they have one drink and everything is okay.

Giving this 3 ⭐️ because I love me some smut, and this book has a ton of it. That being said… NONE OF IT MADE SENSE. Okay, well… some of it did, but jeez it was confusing sometimes. It’s like chunks of the book were missing because one moment, Tyler is over here doing “this”, and the next second, he’s over there doing “that”. I felt like I was missing something throughout the entire book. It kinda ruined the spice, honestly. Major bummer.

Also, if I hear the word “slick” one more time in reference to natural female lubricant, I’m gonna lose my shit.
All of that being said, Brodie can GET IT 🔥🔥🔥

I heavily debated giving this a 2 star. The book had the potential but was poorly executed. We never find out why the FMC leaves. I don’t understand why these three alphas just randomly start doing work for her (especially Ethan her ex it never made sense). A lot of things just weren’t connecting. The random encounter with the alphas that weren’t hers in the end was also really out of pocket. There was also times when things weren’t making sense and parts where even told randomly in third person point of view about the person that was telling the chapter.

Smh. This is the third book in this series I’ve read. The first book was good. I read book 3 next and it was lackluster and this was the same way. I forced my way through this book and I really wanted to give this one a try but I am so disappointed. I had to DNF at 25%. The plot was giving me major whiplash. It kind of felt like aspects of the packs chemistry were missing or like some chapters had been removed and it made things confusing. And it was like boom out of nowhere the formation of the pack just randomly appears on the page.

This is my first book that I read by this author but I would like to read more. I think the story is well written and loved the characters. Now I love omegaverse books in general and an hooked as you can see on my page. The story is familiar with moving back home and this is because the omega inherited an Inn and she must fix it. Not in the plans was getting a heat at said Inn or to be knotted and bonded. Loved this one.

Stuck With My Pack, by Nora Quinn, was a bit different. It is about humans with shifter alpha and omega qualities but they do not shift. Female omegas, are in danger unless they find their alpha mate(s) and claimed before they go into heat. These shifter qualities are more for finding your mate(s) and who you are sexually compatible with.

This was a cute and sweet Omegaverse story.

The FMC, Sophie, is an omega that is a little lost and returns to the small town she grew up in after her aunt passes away to fix up an old inn.

I love the interactions between Sophie and her alphas. Each one has a unique relationship and way of interacting with her, showing her such how special her omega is to them.

The story was sweet with very little drama or angst.

Poorly written and edited

Just to warn readers, I couldn't finish this book due to how poorly it was written. The fmc meets a stranger. He smells great, tall, built, etc. Then she refers to him as "Brodie," so I think she knew him from before, then he introduces himself as Brodie... just one of many instances of poor writing and the plot was flimsy too. I do not recommend this book.

confusing

I got as far as the festival and cannot go any further, it’s all over the place, whether the rioting is crap but it definitely needed proof read, contradicts itself….the story is a bit lame as well….im over just reading books with no story and just lots of sex….i NEED a good story line and I NEED to like the characters….and I NEED some humour in a book as well…a good laugh in a book to me means a good writing…

Barely Made it Through

Almost DNFd at 20%, and 30% and 50%, pushed through, second half was more cohesive than the first. But this book was painful! Poorly cobbled together. Felt like pulling from a bunch of other omegaverse books. The timeline does NOT run smoothly. There are a bunch of inconsistencies. Sophie never explains why she left Ethan and the town without a word. There are weak and contradictory back stories given, where they're given at all. Just meh.

good but inconsistent

The book has good bones…but so many inconsistencies. Between positions, random things they’re holding that just disappear, some of the dialogue changes.

Some plot holes are left open..never found out who reported the inn, never found out what pushed her leave, she never told them she loved them, and the internal fights that they have with themselves is VERY VERY over done.

I never thought at this point in my life I would wish I could inherit a broken down Inn and have three hot as F alphas help me fix it up, while simultaneously helping through a heat…but, yeah, I do. I really. REALLY. do.

‘Stuck With My Pack’ is well written from start to finish. This Omegaverse storyline brings all the feels from insecurity, sadness, anticipation, joy, regret, fierce loyalty, anger, lust—lots of lust, tenderness, and love. This is worthy the read.

Recommended.

Meh

I had a really hard time getting through this book. None of the characters were able to hold my attention. I feel very unsatisfied with the backgrounds on the characters. It seems like character development was pushed aside for 18+content. With there would have been more story and character development.

This was a steamy, enjoyable romance. It was fun, flirty and spicy.
There were a couple of things without explanation, but I suspect that would be explained then the secondary characters get their own story later in the series.
This book had all of the elements needed to make it a good read.

Good read with th little drama

Love the story about Sophie falling for her pack of Alphas, Ethan, Brodie and Tyler. While its not smooth sailing because life never is, it doesn't have too much drama, just enough and plenty of sweetness and spice 😁🔥🔥

Enjoyable

So there was a little bit of repetitiveness and some jumps in the story flow that probably could’ve been ironed out (eg. Ethan’s scent changing from apples to cedar), but overall I enjoyed this book.

Romance? ❤️❤️❤️❤️
