Bob Hoyt is a board certified Internal Medicine physician with experience in the private sector and the military. After retiring from the Navy he began teaching Medical Informatics at the University of West Florida. It was there he realized the paucity of current textbooks in the informatics realm. His first book was published in 2007 by Lulu.com, as have all subsequent edtions. He has also conducted clinical research at the Robert E Mitchell Prisoner of War Studies located in Pensacola, Florida.

Great book. One of the more exciting textbooks I've read. Filled with lots of details, which really excites the reader about this field. It's the perfect length to give you breadth, and some depth. Perfect introduction.
