In order to get value out of your data warehouse environment you need to drive actions, and then measure the results of those actions. At the same time, when you undertake action, your company grows from understanding the shortcomings inherent in the process.

If the data warehouse is designed and implemented on elements that are guaranteed to change you will create an environment that is unable to change. Conversely, if you design based on elements that are guaranteed not to change, you will encourage and increase the rate of change.

This is one of the critical messages. IT must first enable an environment that will allow the business community to evolve. It is an ever-lasting circle of evolution to, and through action.
