Cassie’s introduction to kink throws her for a loop until a friend and his slave give her a gentle introduction. Unfortunately, her friend has issues when it comes to kinky activities with women, so Cassie goes looking for someone else to teach her.
She knows how to be safe, but a disastrous adventure ends with an ambulance ride to the emergency room, and the three men it hasn’t worked out with all come together to nurse her back to health. Two Doms and two submissives in one house should be a nightmare waiting to happen, though under the right circumstances could be a dream come true.
Warning: Contains graphic language, consensual BDSM, male/male sexual practices, bondage, male chastity devices, and the use of toys including clamps, canes, paddles, floggers, plugs, and gags.
Readers with a history of rape may find elements of this story disturbing.
Safeword: Arabesque is a stand-alone book. You do not need to have read the previous books in the series.
Candace Blevins writes urban fantasy, paranormal romance, epic fantasy contemporary BDSM romance, and two kick-ass motorcycle club series. She’s published more than fifty books. Candace lives with her husband of twenty-four years and their two teenaged daughters. The family’s beloved, goofy, retired racing greyhounds are usually at her side as she writes, quietly keeping her company. Or sometimes not so quietly.
Her urban fantasy series, Only Human, gives us a world where weredragons, werewolves, werelions, three different species of vampires, and a variety of other mythological beings exist.
Candace's various paranormal romance series are all sister series to the Only Human series, and give some secondary characters their happily ever after.
Her Dark(ish) Faerie Tale series gives us a close-up and personal look at Queen Mab, and her Dark Underbelly series is, as you’d expect, dark and (if you’re a little twisted) oh-so-yummy.
Her contemporary Safeword series gives us characters who happen to have some extreme kinks. Relationships can be difficult enough without throwing power exchange into the mix, and her books show characters who care enough about each other to fight to make the relationship work. Each couple in the Safeword series gives the reader a different take on the lifestyle.

Buy this book now. Cassie and Frisco's story unfolds in this long ass novel. When Ms. Blevins writes a book, she gives you a full story with jam packed BDSM scenes and plot development. Cassie and Frisco are dojo buddies with Sam and Ethan from the No Safeword quartet in the Safeword series. In the last Safeword installment, Cassie is brutalized near the end. This story starts off before her incident. For those who didn't read the previous books in this series, it's still okay. This book can be read as a standalone.
Cassie seems to be the only one in her close group of friends who isn't kinky. This perverted lifestyle is something she doesn't understand and isn't interested in, until she sees horn dog Frisco in a club with a scantily clad man on a leash. Cassie is more than intrigued. With good friends Frisco and Sam, Cassie is shown the ropes of BDSM.
Cassie's awakening into BDSM is gritty, harsh and unromantic. Ms. Blevins does an excellent job of showing how BDSM dynamics can involve emotion or not. Can be sexual or not. She also shows the bad side where people abuse the BDSM lifestyle. This is what I enjoy most about Ms. Blevin's BDSM. It's realistic in the portrayal of ups and downs. Every scene is accurately depicted and quite feasible. This isn't to say I'd recommend a newbie BDSM reader use her books as manuals. That would be similar to throwing a non-swimmer into the deep end of the pool without a floatation device, instruction or lifeguard. For the experienced BDSM reader and lifestyler, it's a pleasure to read because some of us have been through these experiences. Each swat, whip, caress, probing, electric shock brings back body recall memory. For me, a few of the scenes made me wince because I've felt that kind of pain and prefer not to experience it again. Some of the scenes conjure up happy feelings and my body is flush with endorphins as I recall exactly how I felt in the same scenarios described.
The character development in this book is fabulous. I was a little worried with four main characters, it would be hard to distinguish each one. Their voices may become so similar, they would blend together and I'd struggle to remember who was talking. To my delight, each character, Frisco, Cam, Cassie and Issac maintain their distinctive voices and when they all come together, it's a beautiful harmony. Each the character's past is revealed in the appropriate time. The multiple storylines going on at the same time work out quite well. One would think the stories would compete against teach other, but it doesn't. Each character is given the right amount of limelight. The focus is really on Cassie and yet each man receives quality time. This is great because it parallels how the four make their relationship work.
The communication and trust required for a foursome is monumental. Ms. Blevins does another excellent job in showing how it could work. Is it perfect? No. This is what makes it good for me. The ups and downs and misunderstandings make it seem more real. By the end of this story, I'm a bit exhausted and I feel as though I've found four new friends I'd love to spend time with...just not in the dungeon as a participant. I'd be happy to watch; I'd just avoid bottoming to Frisco or Isaac.
The BDSM in here is heavier on the sadistic side. There is more SM than D/s. As with most of Ms. Blevins' books, contracts come into play more oft than not. She did a good job of bringing in the contracts only when needed. There are two other trademarks plot devices Ms. Blevins is known for which also show up in this story. She tends to have crazy physically fit people in her stories. This means, her punishment and scenes can involve physical exertions and endurance which ninety percent of Americans can not survive. Not that they would die; they would safeword because it's too intense on the fat ass bodies we have. I'm in that ninety percent because there is no way in hell I could endure some of the scenes in here without passing out in exhaustion. The other one is the rules for punishment.
Here's the thing. I'm usually a person who learns all the rules so I know when I can bend them. I'm very good at following rules. I don't know what it is about the punishment rules to determine the number of strikes or length of time in Ms. Blevins' scenes that make my brain shut down. In every book since her first one in this series, the dominant lays out the number of strikes or punishment for a duration of time and my brain can never follow. Even if I have it diagrammed out with process flows or written in programming case statements, I'm not sure I'd be able to follow. My guess is, it is because I'm more submissive than dominant. I just don't want to figure out what I have to do with all these choices presented. I just want to do my best to follow the rules and I'll take whatever I earn.
For those who have issues with rape, electrical shock, anal penetration, slavery and enemas, this is not the book for you. Whilst rape is not described in detail nor is it used as a tool for sexual gratification, there is enough in here which may trigger rape survivors. For me, it didn't trigger anything so I am good with it.
Slavery - this is such a loaded term. In this book, Ms. Blevins explores the slavery lifestyle with a 24/7 theme. She does a great job of pulling back the covers and showing what a slave could expect. As with all relationships, none are identical. Whilst being financially dependent upon another person would give me fits, Ms. Blevins lovingly shows why a person would want this and how it can be achieved. It's quite beautiful.
With this book, I can see Ms. Blevins' writing style mature. This is a wonderful BDSM book which delves into many concepts and triggers. I highly recommend this book to experienced BDSM book who enjoy a book with meat to it.
*This book was given to me as a gift by the author. While a review was requested, it was not required. I gave my opinion regardless.
Sometimes I feel a bit like Goldilocks when I read BDSM romance. A little too much of this, not enough of that. Constantly hoping that the next book I read will be "Just right". Well, I finally found it.
In Safeword: Arabesque, Candace Blevins delivers a refreshingly realistic, honest and emotional story. A foursome BDSM romance that shows the love, dedication and work that goes into such a complicated relationship. With unique and well crafted characters, she gives you a more honest look at BDSM in practice and she doesn't hold back.
This was my first book by this author, but it won't be my last. I loved it so much, I bought her entire backlist. I HAVE to read the rest, especially after meeting Sam and Ethan! :-)

Another great story by Candace Blevins. While there is a series order, I haven't followed it. I've just read whichever I feel like in the moment. While I did read Safeword Matte I did not read the other books between that book and this book. While I know there are things I have missed, this was fine as a standalone, for me.
*warning possible spoilers below, although I don't think there are*
This book is a landmine of isshews (not the bad kind).... starting with Cassie's reaction to Frisco's 'hidden' bisexuality. She doesn't like that he is hiding it, due to her own personal experience with her father hiding his homosexuality and marrying her mother. Her hidden desire to be at the end of his leash, when she had previously just been 'vanilla', and his refusal to own his sexuality, made her avoid him.
Frisco has no intention of settling down with anyone, and is happy to live a life with his slaves-in-training, releasing them every year, and finding another. He sees no problem with compartmentalising his life between training his slaves, and dating women when he needs a soft body. He just cannot release his Sadistic side with a woman, even in a consensual scene. So he beats up his slaveboys, and makes love to women.
When Sam decides to take matters into her own hands, and orders Cassie to kneel at Frisco's feet, Cassie is opened up to submission, and found she had been missing a huge part of her own sexuality.
Cameron, the sexy slaveboy Cassie saw on the end of Frisco's leash joins the Frey, as Frisco shows Cassie what it is to submit.
When Cassie starts to realise that Frisco is just 'showing her the ropes' of D/s dynamic, and has no intentions of ever being her Dom, or introducing her to anything other than sensation play, she decides to go off and find herself someone who will.
Enter Isaac. They hit it off immediately, and Cassie and Isaac start a beautiful S&M connection, until Isaac realises who her previous Dom was, and breaks it off with her.
A crisis brings all four characters back together, and they try to help heal their wounded lover.
I really enjoyed the different character mix here. I found that even though some had stifling and rigid views in the beginning, they developed well, and loosened up. Their bonds were all unique, and strengthened over time. It was interesting to see the differences in Master/slave dynamic with Dominant/submissive dynamic in this story. I also enjoyed them discovering what worked, and didn't work, in a four person Menage.
I love reading about impact play, and a lot of the stuff was sexy and intriguing. My woe here was that I would have preferred more showing, rather than telling. Same with the emotional side of things. I would have preferred a little more depth when dealing with the characters emotions. I like to get swept up in it, and feel what the character is feeling, but I wasn't able to be fully immersed in their heads.
I did feel like the crisis scene was skipped over a bit. It didn't seem like enough time was invested in the character's mind, and how they were dealing with it. These things would have brought my review up to a 5 star rating.
There has not been a Safeword book that I haven't enjoyed to date, and I will happily continue reading more from this author, as they are published.
This story deals with a lot of sensitive and triggering content, and for those who are sensitive to violence, rape, and scenes that are more RACK than SSC, this is not the book for you.

As reviewed on Kinky Book Reviews: As an avid reader of the genre, I'm tired of the cookie cutter perfect mind-reader Dom. It's been done. Repeatedly. I recently switched genres for a bit because I found myself in a reading rut.
I needed something different.
Shake me up.
Wake me up.
Break me up.
Put me through the emotional paces of a story well-told.
Show me someone who survives failure.
Show me someone who crashed and burned and still keeps trying to fly.
Candace Blevins delivers. EVERY. TIME.
The sheer intensity of Safeword: Arabesque is off the charts.
TRUST is the cornerstone of BDSM erotica. How do you handle it when your mentor fails you?
What happens when trust is broken? A fall out of catastrophic proportions.
I physically hurt during several scenes and had to put down the kindle and walk away. (Only to run back moments later because I HAD TO KNOW how the story ended). The emotional angst was powerful and haunting.
Safeword: Arabesque is a story of redemption. The author didn't take the easy way out..., it was gritty and raw. Never have I seen such horrifically beautiful characters that were so damned real. While the scorching hot sex scenes may be an unattainable dream for a lot of women, it is the incredibly empathetic characters that keep this book grounded in reality. Losing yourself in a good book is always wonderful..., but when you actually find yourself in a good book, it is nothing short of phenomenal.
Hope, despair, friendship, redemption, faith in one another and faith in the dynamic of the relationship... Arabesque is an absolute roller coaster of emotion. Strap in, have tissues ready... and go on another phenomenal journey with Candace Blevins.
I loved this story!! Being a BDSM book voyeur and not in the lifestyle I find Candace Blevins's books a breath of fresh fiction air with no over-the-top millionaires, no insta-love and plenty of real-life hurdles in the way. Yes her books are on the heavier side of BDSM and definitely not everyone's cup of tea but Candace is an auto-buy for me.
For those who have read Candace"s Safeword: Matte series, they will be familiar with most of the characters in this story, however this book can easily be read as a standalone.
This story is about Cassie who leads a vanilla life but finds herself turned on and intrigued when she sees Frisco (a dojo buddy)leading a nearly naked man on a leash at a night club. Cassie is puzzled as Frisco has more than once hit on her. Through the help of her friends Cassie begins to explore the BDSM lifestyle and starts a relationship with Frisco and his slave-in-training Cam. Eventually Cassie finds she wants more than Frisco is willing to give and she looks for a Dom who will deliver.
Initially this goes well for Cassie and her confidence in the lifestyle grows until disaster happens and Cassie is badly hurt. The three good men who have taken Cassie through her BDSM introduction come together to help her overcome her physical and mental trauma. There are many twists and bumps in the way of this foursome menage as they try to make it work.
This book is definitely for me one of her best. The characterization is superb with each person having a distinctive style and feel. Each main character also has their own story told as the main storyline evolves, so we have multiple strands woven cleverly around the main core.
I also have to give Kudos for the supreme editing - so many books these days are let down by bad editing - this is not one of them.
I received this book free through the BDSM R2R group in return for an honest review
This for me was brilliant. I've loved this book. I've lost myself for days in this story I would do so again and again.
This story is a journey through Cassie's eyes mainly, of her journey into BDSM. She's first introduced by her best friend Sam, who at first she's unaware of is in the life style, but then she meets Frisco, and she meets trainee slave Cam. She has feeling unknown to her at first, re Cams training, the leash sets it's all off and she sets out on a self discovery journey to take on more, within the BDSM arena. She later moves on wanting more than Frisco was prepared to offer and meets Issac, who takes her to another world. She then wants what we would refer as "have her cake and eat it"...she wants them all...just wow.
The sexual chemistry in this book is just off the scale!!!. The BDSM scenes for me, were just right...I'm not in the life style this way, so don't know on the accuracy, but I just loved it.
I was given the book as part of the BDSM r2r TBR, by the author for an honest review. I will definitely be reading more by this author...fab read. A bit long, but I've loved every minute of it !!!
Candace Blevins gets better & better with each book. The character development is the best yet, for all 4 characters! Her books are never 'cookie-cutter', in each one she addresses different fetishes in the BDSM world. Many of which make me uncomfortable, but I always appreciate learning about them, and gaining some measure of understanding.

WOW!!!!!! I think that I may need a cold shower, or possibly a polar bear plunge. This was one very hot read!!! There are multiple things about this book that make it amazing!!
1) Character development: The characters in this storyline are well developed and believable. You get to know them and you can see their individual personalities. They are not just orifices present for the sake of the storyline.
2) Storyline: There were so many twists and turns it kept me on the edge of my seat without being confusing. This author had an amazing outline and plan for this story and you can tell. There is depth to the story and it make you want to read this story over again.
3) Hot factor: The heat in this story is amazing. If you are looking for some spice, this has some ghost pepper level heat. WOW!!
I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
I loved this story! It was a true M/M/M/F story between Cassie, Isaac, Frisco and Cam where everyone loved each other, and how that was achieved was portrayed realistically. There were great dynamics and the characters were unique. And I know I can't complain about the length of the book with 150.000 words, but I could have read more about Cam, because I found him a very interesting and lovable character!
I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Candace Blevins has quickly vaulted to my list of favorite authors. Every book of hers that I have read has received top reviews. Her newest book Safeword Arabesque fits perfectly amongst this group of high quality books.
Ms. Blevins is known for her intense writing especially regarding the pain aspect of some BDSM relationships. Safeword Arabesque was just as intense except this time the intensity was much more emotional than physical. This time the focus was on how a BDSM relationship develops and how the bonds not only change, but strengthen over time. Don’t get me wrong, there is still a lot of hot, steamy and sometimes painful sex.
Life was simple enough for Cassie. She had friends, a job she loved, and martial arts as an outlet for her physical needs. All that changed when she discovered her friend Frisco’s kinky secrets. Now she’s having all these confusing thoughts and feelings. Frisco agrees to train Cassie alongside his current submissive Cameron.
Eventually Frisco’s own hang-ups cause a rife with both of his subs and they have to move on without Frisco. Cassie thinks she’s found what she needs with another Dom, but sometimes fate has a wicked sense of humor.
It takes a crisis to bring everyone back together and Cassie’s men must work with each other to take care of her. With two Doms and two submissives all living together, things get interesting pretty fast.
In fact, it’s these four characters that elevate Safeword Arabesque to a whole other level. Ms. Blevins gave all four equal attention so that the reader is blessed with four complete, well-developed and believable characters. Yet each one was different and Ms. Blevins made sure that their differences were why this relationship could work. I was able to understand why each did what they did and how they could both contribute to and benefit from this unusual connection.
Then as if fantastic characters weren’t enough, the reader is given a storyline with enough twists and turns to keep you intrigued and enough heart and soul to keep you thinking about it long after you have finished the book. With four different leads and a wide variety of couplings, it could have been confusing and muddled. Instead the story flowed naturally and effortlessly.
Ms. Blevins writes fictional tales with so much authenticity and depth that you find yourself immersed in the characters lives as if they were your family. Each one makes mistakes because that’s what people do. But they pick themselves up, learn and come out better for having made the mistake.
Her understanding and explanations of BDSM relationship contribute to the authentic style. Ms. Blevins is one of very few authors who can explain a 24/7 slave lifestyle in such a manner as to not only show why someone would choose this lifestyle, but also to showcase the beauty of it even if it’s not your kink.
While Arabesque may be mild in terms of the other books in the series, fans of Ms. Blevins and the series shouldn’t worry that she’s going soft. There is still plenty of pain and punishment. The sex is still just as hot and steamy as it is in the other books in the series. And with four leads, Ms. Blevins was able to get very creative.
After reading and reviewing many of the Safeword series, I know that I’m always saying the same thing – the book is fantastic, Ms. Blevins’ writing is awesome and you really must read the book. But that’s because it is and you should. Count me in as a HUGE fan. I can’t wait to see what she writes next.
2.5 Unfortunately too much is a good thing Stars!!

I was given the opportunity to review this book and my kinky side was all over it but once I started to read it, my kinky side got confused and disappointed. :(
I read this as a standalone but I truly feel that if I read it as a series that I may have liked it more. It basically felt like the book contained everything that BDSM has to offer all rolled up into one story. It had dominants, submissives, slaves, M/F, M/M, M/F/M, M/M/F, M/M/M, M/M/M/F, M/F/M/M, but it all felt like too much to be considered realistic.
I didn't mind the idea of the story and thought it had huge potential obviously since I read it, but it went from a guy repeatedly asking a girl out and her being no, to 'oh you have a man on a leash. I'm intrigued', to I want to know about BDSM, to oh' I'm a submissive 'beat me like your slave', to I love you, you can't give me more, to the next dominant 'Oh I love you now', add in a bit of drama and angst to hey guess what the two dominants happen to be best friends lets all try a relationship together.
The drama and angst were decent but the kinky stuff was too much too fast which gave it too much kink and not enough substance.
This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.
The first 30 to 40% of this book had me completely engrossed. The story was interesting, the characters had depth and realism, and for the first time when reading one of Candace Blevins' books I saw the BDSM aspects as clearly consensual.
This has been a problem for me in Safeword Rainbow -- 2013 extended edition, and Safeword Davenport. While I find the books fascinating, it is an uncomfortable fascination. I don't like the main male characters in either book because, to me, they are manipulative, cold, and uncaring of the feelings of the women they purport to love. I know this is my own take on the relationships in those books, that, in fact, the author is writing about consensual BDSM relationships, but I just can't quite get over the feeling that there's a great deal of manipulation going on. In Safeword Arabesque the consent was clear, even though I often thought the person consenting was slightly insane for doing so... it was definitely consent. ;)
Unfortunately, after that first portion of the story, it became bogged down in excessive detail and my attention waned as a result. Since the story is about 4 adults forming a romantic relationship with one another, much of that detail made sense. There is a lot to consider in such a complex and unconventional relationship but, in my opinion, much of it just wasn't that interesting to read about. The story meandered down a road that took several side trips. The many and varied family relationships, the physical living space, contractual negotiations between the two dominants and male slave, as well as to name a few. Oddly, much of the detail was interesting, but as a whole it was a bit too much for my admittedly poor attention span.
I think some of the problem for me is so much of this intricate story is told rather than shown. Although, the emotional depth of these characters was greatly improved over previous books, they still come off as detached at times. It isn't something I can quite explain, but often the characters in this series feel a bit mechanical, perhaps overly analytical in their reactions to life.
For all that, Safeword Arabesque is an amazingly complex story told in such a way that you can almost see it happening. That is the skill Ms. Blevins brings to her books, she makes the unbelievable quite believable.
Wow, this has so much in it and it is a good long read too. I have read this as a stand alone but know it fits into Candace Blevins, Safeword series and this is number 9. I think she writes them faster than I read them. This Cassie, Cameron's, Frisco & Isaac's story. There are many reviews, so what I liked... The step by step approach to the characters gradually getting to know each other, and learning of and the implementation of BDSM equipment and all its protocols. The way their relationships develop, including dodgy problems to overcome, the dynamics of the four and what I see as their pecking order, over all control and senior sadist and newly confronted by his bisexuality is Isaac, though he may not know it :) then Frisco, who knew he was bisexual and also a sadist, Cassie, bisexual and finds she's definitely a masochistic submissive and only female and Cam, masochist personified, who has a need for slavery, voluntarily owned, used and treasured in this polyamorous group that despite all obstacles works. Fascinated by this and slightly envious that I never found like minded people like these to share my life with. I also liked to see how educational learning and professional work was incorporated into the story and melded in. I loved the additional story of Cam and his beloved dancing ballet and I have seen Giselle and the character Albrecht and could see him so clearly shining on stage at this point...loved this. I loved where it ends with the polyamorous group relationship and BDSM dynamics.
Necessary to storyline but with reader aware note... There is a violent rape, its aftermath, trauma and recovery with help of partners and a psychologist. Also theis story deals with other psychological issues from childhood that certain people have to endure, face up to and hopefully recover from. The psychology in this story is carefully considered and IMO good sense.
What I dislike is the same as Safeword Rainbow her first book...Candace tells us of events systematically, including going off at tangents with perhaps a little too much detail. Yes, it was important to mention extended family but it was a little overdone. I would love for her to reveal and show us through her use of language what each feels and experiences rather than tells us.
Lots in this and I did enjoy it and thanks to Kim D for her recommend for me.
Spoiler Ahead Read At Your Own Risk This was a really good book. This is my first book in this series and although it is book nine in the series this book is a stand alone. Cassie went out with Sam for her Bachelorette party when they ended up in a kink club and who do they run into Frisco and his slave in training Cam who is on a leash. Cassie is so turned on by the leash she can't think straight Cassie has known Frisco for a long time although she didn't know that he was kinky and Bi they both go to the same dojo that Sam and Ethan own and she considers Frisco to be a man-whore who has hit on her and asked her out she always turned him down and now she can't figure out why. Frisco who knows he is bi doesn't date men only women he saves the men for his kinky BDSM training he is a sadist. So after Sam finds out what's going on she gets involved and Frisco agrees to train Cassie and find her a master. Frisco doesn't realize that she is a masochistic and he is treating her with kid gloves on because she is a girl and he has problems hurting her like he does Cam. So what does she do she finds someone else. Cassie meets Isaac at a munch given by a local BDSM club. This was a really good book and all four of them had a lot of chemistry together. With Isaac Cassie finds what she is looking for and everything is good she even manages to stay friends with Cam until Isaac finds out who introduced her to the kink and trained her, turns out Isaac and Frisco have are best friends and he ends the relationship with her and to make matters worse Frisco ends things with Cam because Cam told him he loves him. This book had a lot of emotions for them all and when Cassie is attacked in Las Vegas, each man feels some form of guilt over it and I loved how they worked together to help her. I also liked how each man came to understand that they were bi although in Cam's case when he and Cassie tried to have sex alone it didn't work and Isaac who although he admitted that he has had sex with other men in the BDSM since never really thought he was attracted to men. I also liked how Frisco and Isaac worked to gain intimacy between him and Frisco two Dom's. They each had to work to make the relationship work. So we have two Dom's a slave Cam because he only feels complete in the slave world and a sub Cassie. This book was well written with no errors in spelling or grammar. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.
I’m a big fan of Candace Blevins’ books, and this one didn’t disappoint. Her books are boundary pushers, and the challenge is to test your willingness to accept that what others want and need in a liaison is fine if all participants are consenting adults. Safeword: Arabesque does this mainly by presenting a poly relationship with four participants. I think most of us find one partner enough to deal with – the thought of being with three others doesn’t bother my morals, but I do think it would be a difficult thing to manage. There are well written scenes where the characters discuss how this will work, and also a contract for one of the four who wants to live in a slave relationship. A rape scene is handled with sensitivity, and a large part of the book centres on how the survivor (not victim) learns to deal with the aftermath and move on, with the help of friends and professionals. Once again the characters are the heart of the story and I’m sure I won’t be the only one who would love to hear Isaac murmur ‘Sweet thing’. All the players are well developed and we get to find out what motivates them and what they are still dealing with from their past. Trust is a huge part of any relationship and that is tested here. Can you forgive someone who steps away from you and rebuild the belief and confidence necessary to reconnect? Ms Blevins writes demanding and imaginative BDSM scenes, but they are explicit and graphic and possibly not for everyone, especially if you are sensitive to depictions of sadism. I have really enjoyed the Safeword series and this is a great addition.
I hadn’t read one of Candace Blevins Safeword instalments in while and as soon as I started reading this, I remembered why I enjoyed them so much. I could not stop reading this, time flew by without my notice I was so enthralled in the story and the characters. I felt a little bit spoilt with this, not only did you get told and get to experience Cassie’s story but you got Cam’s on the side as well.
I liked how Cassie and Frisco didn’t immediately get into the Dom/Sub relationship and that when Cassie branched out to Isaac for enlightenment Frisco didn’t run to get her back, it made the story realistic and I was thrilled when Isaac didn’t just disappear into the background either once Frisco came back into the fold.
I didn’t expect to like Cam as part of the read, often when I read ménages there is one of the three I either wish wasn’t part of it or I didn’t care for but I grew to adore his character so much. The element that striked me the most about this read was the emotional depth. I even teared up reading some of the moments in this book, I think that is a tell-tale sign that this is worthy of picking up.
Due to the nature of this read it wouldn’t be for everyone’s tastes. There are some rough moments to read through and some aspects that might be too much for some but if you are a BDSM fan, I would recommend this read without any hesitation. I’d give this read 5 stars
I read this book in ten hours straight . I could not put it down. Candace Blevins knows how to suck you in and give you every raw detail your craving. I wish there were more than five stars. The writing was incredible and the characters I fell in love with. Please more safe word books...... I'm begging
Holy smokes! This was my introduction to Candace Blevins and she blew my socks off. Candace has created a beautiful love story between 4 people, each one providing a need that another is unable to provide. Emotional, heart breaking and full of love, this is one book you can't miss.

This book was full of fantastic characters, lots of plot twists and great quotes. It was a believable story line and the author had clearly done her research. RECOMMENDED
I took a chance with this book because there were barely any ratings. However, I like the book. It was long enough to explore the dynamic between the characters. It also allowed for the character development of 4 lead characters. The story was neither too fast nor too slow. My one complaint would be the beginning, where new characters were being introduced so quickly that I lost track of who was who.
Female lead Cassie is intrigued when she sees Cam on a leash at a party with her friend, Frisco. She starts a relationship with Frisch and Cam, teaching her about submission. However, she wanted to feel some pain, and Frisco wouldn't give that to her. She starts dating Isaac, but he breaks it off when he finds out that she had been involved with Frisco, Isaac's best friend. When she goes to Vegas to see her fighter friends compete, she goes to a BDSM club there. However, one of the fighters she fought with earlier ambushes her. He and a friend rape her orally, anally, and vaginally. She had been an anal virgin at the time and had wanted Frisco to be her first time. She hides from the media because they released her name and picture (?). (The media usually hide a rape victim's name as a courtesy. However, it is illegal to ban the media from publishing a rape victim's name. It is not a part of the Rape Shield Law because it conflicts with free speech and the ability of the media to report true facts.) They also released the fact that she is into BDSM. She is scared of testifying because they are going to say she asked for it by fighting the fighter ahead of time and going to a BDSM club of her own free will. She had broken ribs, lots of tearing, and many other injuries. She is later freed from having to testify because the rapist took a 10 year plea deal. In prison, the rapist is brutally raped and assaulted by 6 people. He was injured, a testicle had to be removed. The 4 leads try having a real relationship. Cassie and Cam love each other, but don't want to have sex with each other unless told to do so by a rom. Frisco had been training Cam to be a slave when Cam fell for him. Cam tried to confess his love to Frisco, but Frisco rejected him. He later does his best to win Cam and Cassie back. He is also more willing to give Cassie the pain that she wants. Isaac is also added to the equation. He is a dom to both Cassie and Cam. Later, when Frisco and Isaac want to be more intimate together, Isaac tops Frisco as a dom to another dom. Isaac fucks Frisco's ass and gives him and ball torture. Isaac has a condition where his eyelids can't block out light s he needs a room to be in total darkness in order to sleep. However, because of being locked in the basement when he was younger by his stepfather, Cam has a fear of the dark and needs light to sleep. All four of them want to sleep in the same bed together, so they work on torture and rewards to help Cam get his mindset to not associate the dark with unpleasant things. He starts off with being able to handle the dark when he is touching one of the other three. Since he has a slave status, sometimes he will sleep at the bottom of he bed so that when he does sleep with the others, it will be that much sweeter. Cam wants to be entirely dependent on his doms and embrace his slave status. Therefore, they control when he masturbates, his income from his art and dance go to the others' bank accounts, he is only given an allowance to use, if he wants to leave the relationship, he will have to ask them for his money, he will do whatever chores the doms want him to do, etc. If Cassie wants him to do something for her, she has to ask a dom to order Cam first. Cassie, Frisco, and Isaac are on the deed to the house they all live in. In the house, they designed it so that Cam has the smallest room and that the room is barely furnished. Their families accept the 4 persons relationship to varying degrees. Cam's stepdad only thinks of him as manly when he saves Cassie from her rapist with a gun when he breaks in to kidnap her to be sold as a sex slave. This helps Frisco be more tolerant of guns in the house. Cam realizes that he doesn't need his stepdad's approval to feel like a man.

This is not my first Candice Blevins book and I know it will not be my last. Each book seems to get better and better. For some people the BDSM world is a taboo subject, something they refuse to talk about or even acknowledge exist. For them anything beyond vanilla sexuality is wrong. Then there are some authors that write about the BDSM world and know nothing beyond what little they read on the internet. Thankfully that is not a problem with any book wrote by Candice.
When ask if I would read/review Safeword: Arabesque I quickly jumped at the chance. I am slowly reading all of books I have missed before finding this amazing author. Candace does not create worlds, she provides world already existing for readers to explore. Each and every book is more than just about sex or how hot scenes might be. Each book is about real people whether they only exist in the authors mind or are real people they come alive on the pages for readers.
The cover of the book does not do the story within justice. My image of Isaac is totally different that the one on the cover but that does not really matter.
There is a lot of romance books available dealing with the BDSM scene but there is a big difference in what Candace writes and what is available. When Candace writes her books are about real people, people you would encounter in your everyday life but never know they might prefer a different private lifestyle than what others consider is normal.
For this reader everyone has their own normal and just because that normal is okay with one person and not the next does not mean it is wrong.
This was an amazing read. Really. From the beginning to the end I personally was captured by each character. To state this book has action is an understatement. This book has action, adventure, lots of hot sex, and a little mystery combined within. I took my time reading this book, four nights of wonderful pictures playing thru my head and dreaming of Isaac.
I savored each word of this book
Readers are greeted with a strong first chapter. Frisco loves woman but plays with men, or at least that is what he says. It is more like he loves men and plays with women. But that is not big deal for men. When wrote great I enjoy m/m romance. Most books I have tried have not been that great. Thankfully, that was not the case here. I really thought the story would be about Cassie and Isaac but boy was I wrong. I dream of having Isaac.
When Cassie turning to Isaac I thought the book was taking a different turn, boy was I wrong right?
I do not want to mention too much about the book. I will end up giving everything away.
I highly recommend this book to any who enjoy BDSM romance.
IF you enjoy Maya Banks then this is even better.
The characters are fully engaging and I seems like I was watching a movie instead of reading a book.
If I could I would lock Candace in a room and have her writes books 24/7 so I would always has her books to read.
If this book was a sports game Candace would of won hands down, to compare this book to foot ball Candace scored the winning touchdown on the opening kick.
I highly recommend this book to all who enjoy something different. A book that gives as much as it takes. If you think vanilla sex is the only way to enjoy intimacy with your partner then this book can either open your eyes to a whole new world or leave you never interested in sex again.
The bunnies and I give this book carrots.

I haven’t read any of the previous books but the author had me intrigued with her synopsis which seemed to offered something different with two doms , a slave and submissive. The possibilities that could be presented would be endless and hopefully some interesting scenes. I went into this book with high promise hoping that this book would give me what I crave with BDSM books but not over the top. If you haven’t read the other books, it doesn’t matter, this is a complete standalone.
Arabesque does deliver what I thought I would get. It not just about the what seems the endless BDSM scenes (not that I’m complain), the author has a plot and her storytelling takes you with them on their journey to fulfilment and happiness. Cassie hasn’t been intrigued about BDSM but has never been comfortable about the whole thing. She is the only one who isn’t involved with the world and until now she didn’t know what to make out of it. She happy for her friends but isn’t her thing until one night at a club when she see Frisco with a man on a leash. Cassie is more than curious that Frisco is with a man, she more interested in how Frisco is acting with the man.
However Cassie’s friend Sam realises that Cassie is intrigued with BDSM then Frisco and here’s where the real story begins. Cassie ‘ s introduction isn’t all rosy like we expect. It realistic and gritty as the author choose the emotions we should feel, as we in Cassie’s foot steps get introduce to this world with the highs and the lows. It isn’t just about the scenes, it about the relationships and the good and bad. It offers a full round picture of what BDSM could be possible be like, for a seasoned reader this open my eyes to new things because of the vast personalities and preferences .
The characters each have a distinct voice to the story and no two characters are the same. Frisco, Cam, Cassie and Issac all have different roles in this story, coming in and out during different parts of the story and it works seamless. It may start off as Cassie and Frisco story but it very much these four characters stories and how they intertwined together as well. Each having their own story which ties into the main arc , you get a sense of everyone past , present and future.
I enjoyed reading this book and highly recommend it for BDSM lovers. I definitely want to go back and read the other books when I get some time. The author has definitely open my horizons with new concepts and ideas in this novel. I love her style and storytelling and the characters story. There is a lot in this book but isn’t overwhelming or confronting. She handles everything with taste. If wasn’t I would probably had an issue with the slave lifestyle that Cam was determined to have. It goes against the grain to be in a 24/7 one and the author explores this beautiful by showing the full picture and the emotion s and thought process behind this. She does this for everyone and no two relationships are the same in this story and that why I give it. 4.5 couples
I have truly enjoy reading every single one of Candace Blevins’ books in the Safeword series because of the reality she brings into them and this was no exception.
This story had two Doms, a submissive and a slave, talk about getting tangled in bed, but you know what, the only tangling was afterwards, once a scene was done, they touched and petted and talked. I felt no confusion when reading about specifics, who was topping who. The characters were so well developed that I felt I knew them and would love to call them friends.
Cassie has know Frisco from the dojo they belong to, she sees him in different light at a party and cannot get that image out of head, she was totally aroused by him and his slave Cam. He starts showing her the ropes (pun intended!) in being a submissive and she gets an insight into his relationship with Cam, he is training and will eventually find a new master for Cam once their training period is over. One thing leads to another and both Cam and Cassie separate themselves from Frisco. Cassie then wants to find out if she enjoyed what Frisco did because of him, or if any other Dom would do it for her. She finds Isaac and they hit it off from the beginning. She finds that she loves being a submissive with him.
After a horrific experience, when she thought she was being safe at a BDSM club, the men come together to help her through this crisis. They help her recover and it’s during this time that Frisco realized what a big mistake he made with Cam and Cassie, he wants them back in his life but he has to work at it to be forgiven.
At this point they all realize that they could make a relationship work with the four of them, lots of boundaries are pushed, for one they need to help Cassie overcome the trauma went through and also to help Cam overcome his near panic attacks at being in a strictly dark room. The Doms do it their way with lots of communication and trust being the most important part.
Ms. Blevins is so intense in the description of scenes, especially the sex scenes, I’ve got no other word other than…wow! She literally takes my breath away with the scenes with Cassie as a submissive and I can say that I have a better understanding of a what it takes to be a slave (and the whys) which is what Cam longed for. Every book I read I find something new. I would without a doubt suggest this book to any wanting to read more of the lifestyle. I’m a huge fan and cannot wait to find out what she has coming next.

This is my first book for Candace Blevins. I am hooked. Yes, I know I started this series towards the end. I started this book because I had a friend read the most agonizing scene of the book and thought this is why some books about the lifestyle shouldn't be written. I wanted to prove him wrong.
This was a fantastic story told in a way that made me see the whole story playing right in front of me. Ms. Blevins makes you feel you are right there with the characters as they go through the heartbreak, joy, sadness and sheer excitement when everything comes together.
This story is centered around our 4 main characters: Cassie, our heroine & submissive, Cameron, our slave in training, Frisco, our Dom trainer who doesn't want a relationship because of family and Isaac, our Dom extraordinaire and best friend of Frisco. Cassie is missing something in her life and doesn't know what it is until she goes to a bachelorette party for her friend, Sam. Cassie learns to explore the lifestyle and with life in general the ups and downs. We follow her on her quest for happiness and how each man becomes apart of her.
I don't want to spoil the story but you'll definitely enjoy it to the end and then you'll want more. Wonderful job Ms. Blevins. I'll definitely be reading the other books in this series.
I wanted to read this series and specifically this book after reading Duke; I needed to know more about Isaac, Frisco, Cam and Cassie! Nothing paranormal in this book though; What an AWESOME book! I absolutely loved it! Great story; like a foursome could actually work like this. And a lot, a LOT of kinky sex. :-) Ge-wel-dig boek!! Errug goed verhaal! Mijn zeshonderdste boek in GoodReads trouwens!!!
Intense and real in a way that you hardly see in BDSM books. All of the characters were fully loaded, none simply a secondary character put into a main character role. The scenes and especially the Training was unapologetically realistic. The author didn't shy away from the things that most of the readers wouldn't be aware of as a kink relationship and explained them in ways that showed the truth behind them. Even parts that had me cringing, I still got that it wasn't for any kind of shock value, but to give a fuller picture.
Ugh. 2.5-3 Stars. I couldn't finish this one! I wanted to like it... I tried to like it... I even DID like it for awhile. But damn this book just kept going and going and going and ultimately, I knew how it would end (duh) and just didn't have another 2+ hours in me to finish the last 25% of the book :(
Maybe I'll set it aside and give it another shot later?
Wow! Hard to read, but the story felt longer than it needed to be. An organically created relationship between multiple partners. I didn't get as engaged with the characters as I have in the past with this author. It felt more mechanical than story telling.
Holy BDSM batman! If you like the super rough stuff this book is for you. This is my first time reading this author. And I jumped in mid series at it was picked for me but going to pick up book one next.
