For fans of Fifty Shades of Grey and Bared to You comes an erotic, emotionally charged eBook novella from New York Times bestselling author J. Kenner. Following the novels in her blockbuster Stark Trilogy—Release Me, Claim Me, and Complete Me, as well as her tie-in novella Take Me—Have Me continues the story of fan favorites Damien Stark and his new wife, Nikki Fairchild. Our wedding was everything I dreamed of, and now the honeymoon is a living fantasy. To be Mrs. Damien Stark is the ultimate rush—to know that our claim to each other is real, our fierce passion sealing our bond. My kiss is forever his, his touch is forever mine.
We both harbor deep scars from our pasts, and we’ve done everything we can to lay our ghosts to rest. But there are still dreams that haunt me, and people that threaten to tear us apart.
Our shared ecstasy makes me feel alive, and I’ll do anything to keep Damien close. He is my future, my hope, my every want and need. And once you’ve tasted that kind of obsession, nothing can make you give it up.
Have Me is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.
J. Kenner (aka Julie Kenner) is the New York Times, USA Today, Publishers Weekly, Wall Street Journal and #1 International bestselling author of over one hundred novels, novellas and short stories in a variety of genres.
Though known primarily for her award-winning and international bestselling erotic romances (including the Stark and Most Wanted series) that have reached as high as #2 on the New York Times bestseller list, JK has been writing full time for over a decade in a variety of genres including paranormal and contemporary romance, “chicklit” suspense, urban fantasy, and paranormal mommy lit.
JK has been praised by Publishers Weekly as an author with a “flair for dialogue and eccentric characterizations” and by RT Bookclub for having “cornered the market on sinfully attractive, dominant antiheroes and the women who swoon for them.” A six time finalist for Romance Writers of America’s prestigious RITA award, JK took home the first RITA trophy awarded in the category of erotic romance in 2014 for her novel, Claim Me (book 2 of her Stark Trilogy) and in 2017 for Wicked Dirty in the same category. Her Demon Hunting Soccer Mom series (as Julie Kenner) is currently in development as a television show.
Her books have sold over three million copies and are published in over twenty languages.
In her previous career as an attorney, JK worked as a clerk on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and practiced primarily civil, entertainment and First Amendment litigation in Los Angeles and Irvine, California, as well as in Austin, Texas. She currently lives in Central Texas, with her husband, two daughters, and two rather spastic cats.
This book starts with Damien and Nikki in Mexico the day after their wedding. But, despite of what it seems, Mexico is not their honeymoon destination, but Paris. And that's where things get complicated (one more time). Because paparazzi and even Sofia will hunt their honeymoon.
“Neither of us is alone. We’re one. And whatever you have to face, I will face it with you. Whatever battles you have to fight, I will fight them with you. I will see us through this.”
This book is mainly made of sex scenes and I'm sorry to say this, but it's starting to be tiring and boring and it just makes me wonder if this short books are really necessary for their story. Anyhow, I will give a try to the next one (Play My Game) and see how that one goes.
Okay, this was basically my thoughts through the whole novella:
This happens through Damien and Nikki’s honeymoon and that’s exactly that what you can expect. It was sweet and if you’re a fan of the series you’ll probably like this, but I can advise you that this is cheesiness overload with extra sex on the side. They only think of sex and when they aren’t thinking / doing it they are declaring their undying love t the other until exhaustion. Although this was sweet, when there’s too much of something, it quickly gets boring, and well, that’s kind of what happened.
Rating: 3 Stars. Characters Development: Well, as a couple they still had a lot of chemistry… it they thought of anything else besides sex or being overly cheesy with each other, they would have been great. Steam: Yes. Sensible Subjects: Love Triangle: Cheating: HEA: ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
So now we get Damien and Nikki's honeymoon...to be honest, I was a bit shocked at what Damien planned but not shocked at how things worked out. Obviously, having money doesn't prevent you from having problems.
I did love Damien's story about the "honeymoon" and that made me love how things actually worked out even better although it did give me a Twilight flashback!
And even though I had problems with the series, I will miss Damien's way with words....a romantic and a dirty talker!
Favorite quote:
♥ “You are my heart,” he says, his gaze never leaving mine. “You are my blood. You are the air that I breathe and the strength inside me. You are not just my wife, Nikki, you are my soul. You are my world. You are my life.”
As a big fan of the Stark series, I can't believe I'm saying this, but this series was over a couple of books ago. Why does the author continue to write about Damien and Nikki? It's ruining the series. This "novella" was just about them having sex on their honeymoon--the beginning, the middle and the end. If your looking for a story, this is not the book for you. However, if you're interested in all the different places/positions Damien and Nikki have sex, this is your book. The next book in this series should be appropriately titled, End Me.
Awful. I loved release me and claim me, but since it just feels like it's all too much of the same thing and there's no real story to Niki and Damien. I feel like the story is their sex life and how many times Damien can tell Niki she's his heart, the air he breathes and 10 other descriptive ways to say I love you when a simple one liner would have sufficed and probably been a little more realistic! I found even this short piece to be extremely repetitive, like the author is just clinging on to anything because the Starks were such a big hit with the fans. This ruins it for me. Very disappointed!
I missed Damien & Nikki ☺ Nothing all that much happens here - LOOOOOTS OF SEX though ☺ In lots of very beautiful locations... And some Sofia & Paparazzi-related suspense.. A really great Stark series Novella - I can't wait to read more of those...one every month would be ok with me ☺☺☺
oh - and I have something I didn't like - it felt to me that Julie had to write a specific number of words and to achieve that she - WAY TOO OFTEN - uses the long versions for IT'S - I'M - YOU'RE etc. Whenever that happens too much in my books it always annoys me a bit :/
They're married! (...finally!) Damien and Nikki are still my favorite book couple. This book is chock full of steamy, erotic scenes but something just feels... not quite right. I don't regret a moment of reading it, but I didn't fly through it as I have with the other books from Julie that I've read. Plenty of set-up for future installments is provided though, and the club had so much potential to be more than the one partial chapter it received (perhaps future characters can indulge in it?)
UPDATED 9/2024: The Honeymoon
I'm glad I went back to read this again. I'm not changing my rating, but I enjoyed it more this time around.
“I will slay your dragons, Nikki. I will keep you safe.” -- Damien Stark
Damien Stark is my forever BBF. His unwavering devotion to and insatiable sexual appetite for Nikki Fairchild Stark are fantastic. Add in his dominating personality and... yeah, I'm a sucker for him. 😘💜🔥
Not much to say about this one. In a nutshell, the newlyweds set out on their honeymoon. Lots of great sex and lovey-dovey reflection. They travel the globe, in a manner that can only be provided by a billionaire book boyfriend. Somebody is trying to stir up a little trouble for the new couple, but no major story here. It was a nice, quick novella, providing another tiny piece of the Stark power-couple we love. It was fun and sexy. Nice read, but no major developments here. Good choice if you've followed this series and are looking for something short and sweet to pass an hour or two.
Damien and Nikki are disgustingly sweet to each other in this story and I really didn’t think they would ever stop smexin but I still love them together. I love they way they strengthen each other. I would so love to travel to the destinations they go to in this story.
Nikki and Damien are on their honeymoon book has lots of sex.. I love the heart felt words..emotions the 2 share with each other..united they stand. I look forward to more please..more books, more hawtness!!
Sweet... “You are my heart,” he says, his gaze never leaving mine. “You are my blood. You are the air that I breathe and the strength inside me. You are not just my wife, Nikki, you are my soul. You are my world. You are my life.”
I wasn't as taken with this story. It felt flat, like an afterthought. It felt cliche and artificial. I found myself powering through scenes instead of savoring them. It wasn't without quality, but it fell short of previous reads.
The Nikki and Damian honeymoon complete with paparazzi, drama, and lots of loving. A lot of the novellas out today are simple money making schemes and this ones is no different. I really would like another full length novel.
I've read a lot of stories about rich, hot alpha male but Damien remained to be one of my top favorites. Why? Because he had a way of loving like no other. The way he loved Nikki was almost ethereal, his love was just too palpable I swear I could imagine his thoughts were with Nikki even if he wasn't in the scene. His kinky nature didn't take away the fact that his eyes showed reverence each time he looked at her. I could blame it on my wild & vivid imagination, but it was really because J. Kenner was a whiz in showing emotions through words.
This book started immediately after Take Me, which was Damien and Nikki's wedding. This was the honeymoon novella. What can we expect from a honeymoon but scorching, simmering hot scenes. But there were a lot of tender moments too. Damien's dedication in showing that Nikki would always come first was as strong as ever.
Call me shallow, but I loved this dialogue where they arrived at a hotel:
“Do you own this place?” I ask Damien when we are alone. “I don’t, no. Why? Do you think I should?” He pats his pockets. “Let me check my wallet. Maybe I have enough cash. …”
I loved it because it showed their humor and how they can brush off their wealth and make fun of it.
This might just be a novella, but it was packed with enough heat and depth to the story to quench the longing of those who missed this couple. I'm hoping that somewhere down the line, J. Kenner would give us more of them, maybe when they start a family. It doesn't need to be a full story ( though I would definitely not oppose to one!), but just to give us a chance to visit this characters that made such a lasting impression to the reading public.
What a start to a honeymoon. Yes there will be a ceremony after all but I don't know who needs it more, Nikki or Damien. Ceremony complete island time alone and all of the sudden, yet again another problem. Nikki is being sued. This couple has weathered more storms but will they weather this one? And who is behind it?
Can I just say I love to live in the good party of fantasy land and that is why I read but if everything was perfect then it would just be bland writing and so it isn't. How does the author come up with this stuff to keep us coming back? I don't know but I do and I will. As long as she writes, I will read
Another great book in this series and I am glad that is the case.
This is my first look into the series, but it didn't exactly put it's best foot forward. There is a lot of sex. Most of the book is sex actually. The part that isn't sex is descriptions. Descriptions of the resort. Descriptions of the room. Descriptions of freaking everything! So boring. This is a novella and only about 100 pages long, yet it is crammed full of the most uninteresting and unnecessary descriptions.
I love Damien and Nikki and I was happy to join them on their honeymoon; however, I felt like this story just needed a bit more depth. Overall, a sweet novella with some of my favorite characters and I was extremely happy to re-visit them.
These novellas are like candy. I can't stop myself from devouring them even though they aren't that good for me. And what I mean by that is that these short stories are keeping me from reading other books I want to read. Nikki and Damien's romance is addictive and I'm enjoying reading their HEA. There was definitely some drama in this installment though. The paparazzi make an appearance and someone ransacked their honeymoon luggage, taking some of Nikki's lingerie with them. I for sure think it was Sofia's doing, since she also tried to sue Nikki on some bullshit. I hope the next one doesn't have so much drama in it. I just want lovey dovey sex scenes!
this is the first time I've listening to a J. Kenner Audible and this one is about 3.5 hours for a 110 page book. This focuses on the honeymoon portion of the amazing Nikki and Damien Love story
So since its their honeymoon... there is quite a lot of sex as well as adventures, drama and mystery
“Because you love me,” he says. “And I love you. That is our talisman, our charm. We may still break a little, you and I. But so long as we are together, neither of us will shatter.”
You are my breath and the beat of my heart...I will always trust you
Continuo dentro e agarrada a esta história de amor mas este livro não me encheu as medidas como os 3 primeiros. A lua de mel está a ser fantástica... buuu! Na realidade não são 3 estrelas são 2.45... Next!!!
These Stark saga reads are always fun for me. I turn to them when I’ve completed some heart racing thrillers and I just need to wind down. This was no exception. The Starks are on their honeymoon and we find out all that can ensue for a couple such as them just after completing their nuptials. I rate it 5 stars because Kenner does, as always, a great job of adding to their love story while giving us the romps we all love to read.
