Case study reports of devops transformations at Nordstrom.com and Texas.gov.
Nordstrom was battling under an overgrown website architecture that was full of unique and special snowflake server configurations, which gradually made deployment needlessly hellish and getting worse. Lots of lessons learned from their long, slow transformation.
Texas.gov got the devops religion on their own, since their deadlines and security requirements non-negotiable and passed into law. Much better transition experience, with more on the line than most projects.
