Did this as part of our small group for church. As a 'seeker' and my wife as a first time to church, it really laid out the Bible in good understanding terms. It was just an opener for discussion, no matter WHAT you believe or don't believe. We loved it, we got to ask ALL the questions I've had my whole life, and get some answers and other perspectives on life and faith and religion that were very helpful. Would recommend anyone, not matter what their level of belief or non-belif, to get into a small group and do it. It's a great, well...Starting Point.
This is a good start for those who are seeking answers. I grew up in a Christian home but I sure wasn't a Christ Follower. I had way to many questions. This book didn't answer them all but it did start me down that path. I was part of a group of people who went through this book together and it was awesome!
This was a great study for our church small group. It prompted many interesting discussions. The accompanying videos were good (and free online) and the book was easy to read and had some beautiful photographs in it. It was a great fit for a group of people from different backgrounds who were slowly getting to know each other.
Tremendous guide for those seeking a start or restart in their faith walk. Highly recommend that this is accompanied with a group in a guided setting. A key component for success is that this accompanies a conversation! Blessings on your walk! 🙏🏻
This is an interactive book, accompanied by a video series and, in most cases, serves as the centerpiece of small group discussions. Since it's a book about faith journeys, every reader is going to have a very personal take and personal experience with the book, so I'm not going to cloud this review with my own theology or minute details of my own journey. Rather, I'll just leave a couple key takeaways. Starting Point is non-threatening and approachable, and as the title suggests, is a good introductory primer for people who may be starting out or starting over when it comes to their faith. Suffice to say, I thought it was fantastic, and just what I needed for me at this time.
Currently reading this with a group of great friends. It is a 10 week course and we meet once a week to discuss how this relates to our lives and our week.
