Once upon a time, there was a charming climber and a stubborn photographer who swore she'd never fall—until she did.

Stella
I don't do roots. Or relationships. Or anything that involves the word “forever.”

But Luke Farley? He’s the kind of man who makes one night feel like a promise. With that stupidly perfect smile, a body built for sin, and hands that know exactly what they’re doing—he’s dangerously easy to want.

It was supposed to be casual. A few non-dates, a little flirting, and zero expectations.

Now I’m staring down feelings I swore I’d never catch… and falling for a man who climbs like he was born to take risks.
And worst of all? I don’t want to run.

Luke
Stella Young walked into my life like a dare I couldn’t resist—smart mouth, with a camera around her neck and zero intention of sticking around. She warned me not to catch feelings.

Too late.

She’s the one I want—complicated, messy, and magnetic as hell.

She says she’s not built for love. I think she’s just scared of falling.

Good thing I’m here to catch her.

Click of Fate is a swoony, one-night-stand romance about climbing risks, letting go of fear, and finding the kind of love worth falling for.

“Some people call me a matchmaker–others, a meddler. I prefer “architect of happily ever afters.”

“He’s a climber. You’re a runner. Maybe you just need someone who doesn’t let go.”

When it comes to Stella and Luke, they couldn’t be more different. Stella isn’t one for settling down and definitely doesn’t do relationships. When she meets Luke in a bar one night, she thinks he’ll be the perfect one-night stand. Little did she know that fate would have other plans. Luke is everything Stella could want in a man, and suddenly has her wishing for more…

I absolutley adored Luke and Stella. Their story pulled me in from the very first page. The chemistry between the two of them oozed off the pages, and you could tell that one night would never be enough for the two of them. I love the way fate kept intervening and putting the two of them together when they least expected it. Luke was utterly charming and grounded. He didn’t hesitate to bring the swoon and knew that Steall was worth fighting for.

Click of Fate is a fantastic read from beginning to end. There’s no shortage of swoon and humor, and just enough drama to keep readers on their toes. Click of Fate was definitely worth the wait, and I can’t wait to see what Lauren Helms has in store for us readers next.

Arc in exchange for an honest review.

Click of Fate follows photographer Stella and Rock climber Luke. They meet at a bar one night and one thing leads to another. Little did they know that one night stand is going to rock their entire world. Three weeks after their overnight encounter, they meet again. She was the one that got away because Stella avoids putting roots down anywhere possible. Can Luke keep Stella grounded? This was such a fun read that was easy to stay engaged in! I hope you enjoy it!

Ruth Ann James is a meddling matchmaker and some are happy for her assistance. Others like her granddaughter's friend Stella, not so much... That girl is allergic to love. The moment Ruth Ann met Luke, she knew he was Stella's perfect match.

Stella had just left Happily Ever After Inc. meeting with her best friends. Friends who were determined that she join their event planning company as their event photographer.

Stella was a photojournalist and, with her travel schedule, didn't have a place to call home, but when her sister found herself as a struggling single mom, she knew she had to help and plant some roots. She heads out to check out the nightlife in the area, and as soon as she steps into The Trading Post, she feels she has found the place, immediately liking the ambience.

Heading to the bar she ordered whatever IPA and looked at the hanging chalkboard menu stating that today was MEATBALL THURSDAY - served seven different ways. She laughed, wondering how many ways you could really cook meatballs. When the bartender called the man sitting next to her by name, she knew he was a regular and thought, what better way to find out about the bar and if she could interest him in extending their night together.

Stella pulls into the parking lot of her next photography assignment and looks out in shock hoping that there is more than one rock climbing gyms in the area and not the one owned by Luke. The man that she snuck out of his apartment early in the morning, not leaving her name or phone number.

She was even more appalled when she arrives at the front desk and is adjusting her equipment to not only seeing Luke walking towards her, but her niece entering for her rock climbing lesson in the care of her friend's meddling grandmother.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Although it isn't necessary, I would suggest you read this complete series as the characters are recurring and fully immersed in this story. You will love the girls of Happily Ever After Inc.!

This book will have you laughing throughout. Stella wants nothing to do with a relationship. She is good with finding a one-night stand when she feels the need, but Luke has other ideas. If you love hilarious, angsty rom-coms with interfering relatives, you have found the perfect book. This is an amazing series. Highly recommend!

Click of Fate is book three of the Happily Ever After, Inc Series.

Stella is super skittish about any form of commitment. She didn't want to put down any roots anywhere. But I loved how great Luke was with her. He took things at her pace and didn't force her into anything. He wanted her to come to her own conclusions about them being together. He was a dream when it came to his interactions with her. He tried to take pressure off of her and what they were doing together so she could rationally work through her emotions. He was the perfect match for her.

I really liked seeing the moments of Stella with her family. You could tell she really loved and cared about them and wanted to do the best for them without compromising herself. Her sister also gave some great advice to Luke which I think helped with their relationship together.

Great read!

A Sweet and Steamy Contemporary Romance About Learning to Stay
Stella doesn’t do roots or relationships. After her father left and her mother fell into a deep depression, she decided love was a myth—and walking away first was safer than being left behind. But when she meets Luke, a charming climber with a smile that disarms and hands that promise more than just a one-night stand, her carefully constructed walls start to crumble.
What was meant to be casual quickly turns complicated. Luke isn’t just tempting—he sees the real Stella and challenges her to believe in something more. Now, for the first time, Stella isn’t sure she wants to run.
I enjoyed this sweet and steamy story about emotional growth and taking risks—not just on cliffs, but in love. Recommended for readers who enjoy contemporary romance with a heroine learning the art of staying when everything in her tells her to run.

Click of Fate is the third book in the Happily Ever After, Inc series. It's the second book that I have read in the series. This one is Stella and Luke's story. After a one night stand, Luke can't get Stella out of his mind. Stella doesn't believe in love because of what she has seen her parents go through. I'm not really a big fan of one night stand stories. As I get older, I find them more unbelievable. I mean great sex doesn't always mean great relationship. Having said that, I did enjoy this couple. I liked their banter and chemistry. I was definitely rooting for them. I think this is a cute addition to the series.

Click of Fate brings readers back to Lauren Helms' Happily Ever After Inc. series with Stella and Luke's story.

I loved their unique careers and how they were passionate about things in their life and not just their relationship alone. It made them interesting characters and you could see they fit so well together.

The story moves at a good pace and Stella and Luke had great chemistry and a strong connection. It was fun, too, seeing other characters from the series. I really liked their cameos and getting glimpses of what they have been up to since their HEA.

Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.

Click of Fate is a one night stand trope. She is afraid of love and relationships and he is not a casual fling type of guy. I think Helms writes some very realistic characters. But in some ways that is the problem? This book is like a cozy sweatshirt. Comforting but not particularly exciting. It’s about two people in Indianapolis figuring out if they want to date, even if it’s scary. And sometimes that is the perfect read. (I am on the fence about that). I read an ARC. I would give three and a half stars

At Her Pace

Stella and Luke had a wonderful night together but commitment to another person is non-existent at this point and they go their separate ways. However, when fate brings them together Luke is wonderful and thoughtful in not pushing her into what he already knows about their chemistry and what could be. This was a delightful story and the character growth throughout this read was excellent.

A cute and steamy romance story.

A cute and steamy romance story! Stella and Luke story starts as a one night stand, but when they reconnect will Luke be able to show her that they are meant to be together? One click to find out in this cute and steamy addition to the series that doesn’t disappoint. I enjoyed how the characters relationship comes to life as they navigate the in’s and out of finding an unexpected love.

I loved this!
It was THE most adorable sweet and swoony story.
Sometimes a break from all the dark and heavy is well needed and this read did not disappoint.
Stella is steadfast and determined in her decision to not do relationships.
Luke comes along and has Stella questioning all her choices & dares her to open up to the possibility of taking the risk.
It has great chemistry, banter, spice as well as sweet tender moments thrown in too.
A wonderful addition to the series!

This is a new to me author, and I will be reading more! What started out as a one night stand turned into something more.

She's not a forever girl, and he doesn't do casual, yet here we are! The banter, and chemistry keep the story moving and pulling at your heart. The character development was top notch!

This book demonstrates that finding the kind of love worth falling for is possible!

Choosing to stay
I really enjoyed this. The conversational narrative style of writing is easy to read and pulled me quickly into the story. Stella and Luke had a tough journey before finding the right balance of stability and adventure. This is sweet and steamy, cute and funny, heartfelt and full of family and true friendships. I hope there’s more HEA Inc. stories to come.

Thank you for letting me read this as an ARC!

This was a charming small town romance novella.
The characters were lovely and easy to fall in love with.
With some open door explicit scenes this puts it at a 3🌶

There is an editing error in the published KU version that I hope the author catches, but that is not affecting my review.

I really like this series. It’s been fun to watch the matchmaking happen. The unwilling participants being helped into their HEA.

A runner and a person who is finally putting down roots thrust together.

The niece is adorable and she calls it like she sees it. Love that about kids.

I loved the small town aspect, people know you and want the best for you.

I loved getting to know Luke and Stella. What a climb it was.

Ups and downs and ins and outs of love.

I love books that have great friendships in them. Friends that stick by each other and encourage each other to be the best.

Settling down can be a very scary thing and Stella had a lot holding her back.

Such a great book. Great moments and you have to love a book with a dog.

Stella is a photographer and a commitment phobe. Luke is a climber and very interested in Stella. They have some fun and some chemistry and, well you’ll just have to read to see where things go. Enjoy

Fab read, the story of Luke and Stella. She is clear she is only in town temporarily, and doesn't do long term relationships either, but will Luke change that? I liked how it was told from both points of view. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

I enjoyed reading this book as an arc reader. A one night stand turns into more. They were meant to be together but one doesn’t do feelings. She saw what her dad’s marriages turned into and she saw what her sister dad of niece did. She thought that it wouldn’t work out with him or it fail.
