** JOSIE'S 4.5 STAR REVIEW **

I read the first 2 books and this series and when I found out Alex was going to get his book I was so excited. While reading the first 2 books, Alec’ character just called out to me and I knew there was something deep about his character and I could not wait to get my hands on this one. I love Jax and Bree, Cam and Taylor and it is no secret that Jax was my favorite (notice I say was). Alex is now my number one BBF in this series. Lisa has done such an amazing job with this series. She has a way of writing this series in a way that just makes me want more. So far this is my favorite one in the series. Alec is the drummer for Chasing Ruin, while on a month break he goes to his home town in Montana to get away from the drama and for peace. He visits the foundation that helped keep him out of trouble when he was younger, The Foundation for a Better Future. Alec, volunteers to help during his month stay in Montana where he immediately is fascinated by the Administrator Violet. Alec does not mention that he is part of a famous band because he wants to keep away the drama and demons in his life. However, once he realizes the one place that helped him may go under he wants to help raise funds for the foundation.

Violet’s character is a breath of fresh air. She is strong, loving and determined to keep the foundation she loves open. She does not judge anyone and believes there is good in everyone. One look at Alec, his tattoos and lip ring has her swooning. Without knowing who Alec was she opens her doors to him and the two begin a friendship and a bond to help save the Foundation.

Lisa Cardiff does an amazing job with Alec and Violet’s relationship. Yes there is sexual tension but there is no instant love. Over the course of two weeks, Alec and Violet start to develop a friendship and eventually they become very close. Violet does not hesitate when it comes to having a relationship with him, the real problem was Alec. He believes he is wrong for Violet. His past, his life style and his upbringing keep him from pursuing a relationship with her. When Alec’ past comes to his front door, Violet offers him support. She does not care about his past and Alec realizes that she sees the real him.

“I’m not a good person, Violet, but when I look at you, I want to be.”

“I’m just so d*** sick of all the darkness in my life and just when I think I can escape it; she pulls back into h*** with her.”

“Violet, I know I’m wrong for you and I don’t deserve you and I don’t deserve someone like you but tonight, I really need you. Let me have you, baby.”

“Yes, I want you too.”

Holy H***, I thought Jax was sex on a stick, but Alex took the cake. JESUS – my panties were wet. I mean Holy MOLY BATMAN!!!

“I wanted to taste you- I mean really taste you-since the minute I saw your disapproving look in the Foundation parking lot.”

“Then don’t stop now.”

“Do you want to come? Are you ready? Say it! I’ll give you exactly what you want. All you have to do is ask.”

“Please, Alec. Please.”

“For you, Little Violet, I’d do almost anything. Open your eyes; I want to see everything you come.”

Alec and Violet agree to two weeks, no strings attached relationship while he is Montana. No hard feelings when the time is up but the more time he spends with Violet the more he does not want it to end. He knows Violet is different and special, she truly accepts him flaws and all. When his mother tells him the truth about his past, Violet is right there by his side. Violet wanted to go to college to become a lawyer but put those plans on hold, but with Alec’ help, she gets the confidence she needs and she decides to go for it. She becomes more confident in herself and her ability to take chances. What happens when Alex’ true identity it revealed, will Violet understand? Will Violet be able to accept who Alex really is or will the lies and betrayal send her away for good?

“You know me, or at least I want you to, and I hope I’m not wrong, but I think you accept me, all of me, not just the good parts.”

“I know you Alex. I don’t know every detail or dirty little fact, or even every beautiful thing about you, but I do k now you, and that’s all that matters.”

Let me just say, the author truly got me hooked, with this story. I loved the depth of the characters and the acceptance they had of one another. The author gives readers a love story, with some angst, drama and betrayal but it’s not overdone. We get to see some of the characters from the previous two books and I think we get to see who will get their book next. I absolutely loved Alex’ story, I am glad with how she wrote his story and just as I thought, his story was well worth the wait.

“I won’t be satisfied until I can see your face every morning and maybe not even then because wrong or not, you’re mine, Little Violet.”

“And you’re mine.”

3.5 "little Violet" stars! ****

Wrong for You is a third book in Before You series and can be read as a stand-alone.

Violet works at the Foundation that helps troubled teens. She spends most of her time there having no other employees because she has barely enough money to keep the Foundation open. Her every boyfriend dropped the "it's not you, it's me" bomb and left her.

Alec, the tattooed drummer in Chasing Ruin leaves L.A. and returns to his hometown. He fell asleep beside the Foundation parking lot and is awaken by a blond angel. He agrees to volunteer there and even will be living in Violet's basement for the month he'll spent there.

She doesn't know he's famous and he doesn't tell her, Alec likes the fact that she has no idea who he is and he can finally act like himself and not wear the "I'm-famous-I'm-the-drummer" mask. He can be himself.

Their chemistry is off charts and while they were trying to not indulge in each other, they can't help themselves. But they only have a limited time.

I had a pleasant time reading. I was worried that because I skipped the first two books I'll be missing some crutial info but fortunately no. The other couple were barely there.

I enjoyed seeing how the relationship of those two slowly evolved into something that wasn't only about sexual chemistry. While the scenes were steamy I liked seeing how Alec finally opened himself up and let himself feel.

Still, there were some things that weren't finished. Some were I think purposfully ignored because the author has no idea what to do with them. But it wasn't that disturbing, just something that were left stuck inside my head.

The ending seemed a bit cut-off but okay nevertheless. I'm intrigued about the fourth member of the band that doesn't have his own book yet - Marcus. I'll keep my eyes open for that one and hopefully it will be at least as good as this one.

Wrong For You by Lisa Cardiff is proof that you should indeed judge a book by its title. Finally, Alec's story, but oh so worth the wait. This is book 3 in the Before You series and it may well be my favorite. Its always the quiet ones that have the best stories to tell. This book could theoretically be read as a stand a lone, but I very much enjoyed catching up with the characters from the previous books. I also love that one picks right up after the other with very little time between titles. Overall, this is a well written love story with strong characters and a hard earned HEA.

Wrong for you is a great easy read, Alec has had to deal with so much family drama. His addiction riddled mother who said she should have aborted him. His father that was really not his father and, so he thought, rejection from his real father, all he has is is sister Taylor and his band..until he meets Violet. Their story is very sweet. It is well written and Violet brings out the best in Alec, he shows her the real Alec and that is why he doesn't want to risk telling her he is in a famous band. I am enjoying this series.

This is the third book in this series. These books can be read as standalones but seriously they are all brilliant so I recommend them all.

Alec is the hot sexy drummer in this rocker band. He's a man full of secrets and keeps it hidden from all his friends. He's attracted to Violet but doesn't feel he deserves her.

This may have been my favourite. I absolutely loved it. The storyline is brilliant and I love the characters. I'm so looking forward to reading more by this author. Great series.

The characters are strong and very independent people. Its a 2 person POV story. Gives the feel of it being mixed together POV. Alec what a really awesome name, mr. Alpha man dangerous and dark hottie/drummer has shown his true nature and *blush* have to say he has become my all time favorite. Violet strong woman, doesn't know how to say 'NO', wonderful person, heart of gold. They really do make a great couple.
