I was honored to be a beta reader for Addison Jane's Missing Link! I am so impressed that this is this author's first published book.

Samantha Ashley has been betrayed by her father, and now lives a life of hell, but one that she has come to accept. She was handed over as payment to a man named Charlie. A man that as a reader, I am extremely fascinated by.

Link Davids is incredibly sexy and brave. He is determined to help Samantha escape her prison. They meet when Link is found at
Charlie's mansion and Samantha helps him escape from Charlie's grasp.

Without wanting to give away any spoilers, you just have to read this book. It is action packed! This is book one of The Finders series and I cannot wait to read more about these hotties and see what else is in store for these great characters!!!!

I give this book five stars+++ CWKEA

I was lucky enough to get a copy of this book through facebook from Andrea - thanks Andrea!! I enjoy reading new authors; it's great to get to know them early in their writing careers and see how they build their first series and also their writing.

Addison Jane is a New Zealand author, and Missing Link is the story of Sam(antha), who was given to Charlie by her dad to honor some gambling debts and who leaves behind her younger brother. She's 21 at the time but quite naïve. We don't see most of what happens in her first three years with bad guy Charlie, but when we get dropped into the 3rd year, we definitely know something isn't right. I won't give away the entire story, but Sam is introduced to Link, a former SWAT police officer who now works in the Finders company helping people find the ones they've lost in one way or another, and rescue is underway.

The Finders are a group of friends who are good at their jobs. In some way, the story and the group has a Kristen-Ashley-like vibe to them with lots of characters being introduced in this first book, and I'm sure we'll get to them in stories in the series to come. Next up is Rome (Link's friend and colleague) and Isla's story.

I became invested in Sam's story and her relationship with Link, and I enjoyed the plot and storyline. Setting aside the differences in New Zealand dialect which didn't bother me at all, there definitely is room for improvement for revision of language/sentences and editing for grammar/mechanics. I'm hoping as a new author Addison Jane finds an excellent editor who is good enough to make her good storytelling shine even more.

Story = 4; Editing = 3; Overall = 3.5 for me but I round up and give the benefit of the doubt to this new author

Thanks for reading!

This was on rollercoaster of emotions to read. In the beginning you are just stunned at what is happening that you don't have time to register the he'll that Sam will have to face. Then we are slammed forward two years into Sam's hell. For one instance of a brief second we are.lead to think things might not be bad as KC is teaching her to fight.

“I coulda had you.” He smiled at me, the bright smile of a seasoned fighter who was missing a tooth here or there and had a seriously wonky nose to match. “Yes, you could have. But you still have a lot to learn.”

That line of thinking is cut short when Sam returns home.

"I needed him to believe I was a strong woman who appreciated everything he had given me and how he looked after me. Because if I didn’t, he’d made it quite clear, on the odd occasion, how easily he could sell me on the black market. "

A short time later, during the night Sam is awoken by men yelling. This is when we first meet Lincoln. Standing toe to toe with Charlie. When Sam's eyes meet Lincoln, she immediately trusts him and feels she.must save the only man in 2 years she has ever seen stand up to Charlie.

“Throw him out the door now…” I nodded toward Lincoln, “…and I’ll let you have anything, and do anything with me that you want.”

An elaborate plan is hatched because Lincoln knows this woman. They are connected, he recognised her the moment he laid eyes on her. The only problem getting Sam on board.

“You have a life to go back to, Link. I won’t let him take your freedom, too.” His eyes shot wide open with surprise. “How long have you been here?” I frowned. I’d already been standing there too long. “You need to go. Now.”

It's not until a year later when things take a turn for the worse a year later that Sam knows she will not make it out alive if she doesn't leave. Then she remembers Lincoln offer of help.

“Link here.” Tears seeped through my tough defenses and a sob broke from my throat. “Hello?” “Save me, Link,” I croaked out between sobs. "

From here the story moves even faster and emotions burn fierce. Sam learns the connection her and Lincoln share from her past. Also, the bond she shares with Lincoln grows as Sam has.her first breath of freedom in 3 years. However, things are not rainbows and sunshine as she tries to move forward. Her relationship with her brother is questioned and it almost breaks her. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end when Charlie has finds her again. But will her strength, backbone, and love for family and freedom get her killed??

“I will never stop,” I repeated loudly, flicking my eyes up to meet his. “For the rest of my life I will never stop. I won’t stop fighting, I won’t stop trying to escape you, I won’t stop believing that there’s something better out there for me, and I won’t stop hating you with all the passion and life that I possess in my body.”

I can't.go any further without giving away the details. so many plot twists and turns are revealed in the last few chapter's, it will have you turning the pages faster and faster.

But sometimes, things are not always as they seem. The people you think you can't trust are the ones you can. Will Sam escape Charlie or will she be given to Lucas to be broken? Will Charlie die or meet or get away with everything?

Who is at the top of this sex-slave ring? What happened to Isla? Answers I can't wait for in the next installment of The Finders, Finding Rome!

Where is the rest of the series? Needs some editing

I really enjoyed reading this story, but it mentions other stories, one is even described. I cannot find it by that name or anything in her library.

⛔️ It is dark and contains triggers from the beginning all the way through to the end. It involves gambling addiction, drug and alcohol addictions, sex trafficking, kidnapping, murder, blackmail, adult language, explicit intimate scenes, rape (no actual details given), assault, fighting, demeaning language and terms, etc.

The saving grace of the story is obviously Lincoln, aka Link, and his team. There are some surprises, which are good, but there are a lot of items not addressed (I.e. how did Charlie know where to find Sam?), quite a few grammatical issues with punctuation, capitalization, missing words, duplicated words, incorrect word choice, etc. I didn’t document the issues with commas unless there was another issue. I uploaded my notes to goodreads for anyone interested.

A great start to a new series. There were parts where Link felt too "young" to me and that turned me off for a characters like Sam, but they were perfect for one another in the end. The book took my brain on a roller coaster ride of emotions. My hat is off to this author who continues to deliver great stories. I can't wait for the next book.

I liked the insta attraction, but Link didn’t seem interested in Sam, he was simply attracted to her. So, the chemistry fell flat for me.

Overall, the plot was intriguing, but poorly executed, in my opinion.

This story has a lot of potential. I found myself feeling very anxious at times, for Samantha, which is certainly one of the goals, but there are definitely a few grammatical errors, as well as times when I feel that people are not reacting in a natural manner. There are also parts of the story that just leave so many questions, and I'm not sure if that is due to this being the first in a series, or just...holes in the story. Basically, Samantha gets handed over to Charlie, a man about 20 years her senior, after her father gambles her away. Samantha's mom had died several years before, and her father seems to have become an addict and gambler in the years since, and she has been left to raise her younger brother Devin. I really wish we had been able to get to know Samantha and Devin, as siblings, for a few chapters, or maybe to get some sense of who Samantha was, as a young 20 year old girl, but we see her yelling at her dad and then just...accepting her fate? She calmly walks into this new life with Charlie.

Skip ahead three years, and she is just trying to exist within the confined world that Charlie gives her. According to her, things are getting worse, and his anger and physical punishments are getting worse, but it's hard to get a sense for that since we didn't get to see any parts of that. I just kept wondering, why is Charlie getting worse now? I think we are supposed to know the answer based on Luther's involvement, but why now? Maybe this will be addressed in later books within the series, but it felt so...unfinished, in that sense, to me.

Then, one day, Samantha, or Sam, meets Lincoln, or Link. He is snooping around in Charlie's business, and, for some reason, Sam saves him. This was one of those moments that felt a little unrealistic to me, as Charlie seemed to let Link go very easily - definitely more easily than his personality seems like he would. Link keeps finding Sam, though, and letting her know that he is willing to help her out of her situation. She finally takes him up on his offer when she realizes that her life is about to get worse. Link swoops in and saves Sam, but she will soon learn that she will never really be free of Charlie.

This book touches on some pretty tough subjects - physical abuse and assault, "Training" a submissive, unwillingly, and possibly slavery and sexual trading. If these issues bother you, read with caution. Also, as for the other parts that felt a little unrealistic to me, Sam, seems to move on too quickly, and it just does not feel realistic. She moved ahead when her dad gave her away, as previously mentioned, but she also trusted Link really quickly. I get that he's a good guy, but, for a girl who has been held against her will and had to participate in things against her will for three years, three weeks seems like a short time frame to move on. She also seemed to move on very quickly after the events with Teddy, at the end of the book. Teddy...man, that guy broke my heart, but I won't say more. I do want to see what happens with the rest of the guys that make up The Finders. They have set themselves a mission to find the lost and save people that maybe can't save themselves.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

This is Book One in The Finders Series, and if you are looking for a story that will glue you to your chair, Addison Jane is your author. Missing Link is a riveting and gut-wrenching dark story about a damsel in distress and her knight in a shining armour. Well, there are five of them, actually, the Finders.

The book begins on a shrill note that will make your soul cringe. At twenty years of age, Samantha 'Sam' Ashley is handed over by her father to a rich and powerful Charlie Holloway as payment for a gambling debt. Charlie simply takes Sam's hand and hauls her away to his secluded mansion, totally oblivious to the trail of painful tears and broken family bonds he is leaving behind. In her new 'home', Sam leads an existence deprived of any personal liberties, and has to learn the hard way how to accomodate Charlie's kinkiness as well as appease his many mood swings. Sam's irreprensible good behaviour, though, has earned her a weekly under-escort trip to a local gym, where she practice boxing and can steam off all her pent-up hatred for a man who keeps rubbing in her face the luxury she has been living in so far. After three years spent in her golden hell, Sam meets Lincoln 'Link' Davids in a most unconventional way, and it is love at first sight between them.

Sam and Link's story starts with a loud bang and goes on with a powerful balance between hectic moments where you'll need to remember how to breathe and perfectly sweet lulls, where Sam learns who she is and to trust people again. Being with Link allows Sam to know what love and being loved really means and to have what's left of her family back. All she is looking forward to now is bulding a new family with Link, the man who has shown her the other side of the coin.

I really enjoyed Sam and Link's story because Jane's realistic description of her characters is absolutely captivating. The more I read, the more I was intrigued by the theme the book adresses: Sexual slavery is such a big issue these days, and I loved how Ms Jane gives an unbiased survey of the diverse ways the victims of this horrendous crime to humanity struggle to find their happy place again. Each in their own ways.

Ms Jane is really good at building up tension and defusing it, any kind of tension for that matter, and the tight pace of events in the plot doesn't allow you to put the book down, not even to answer the phone. Besides, Jane's clever and unconventional use of a tricky literary device such as pathetic fallacy is totally refreshing.

I'm really looking forward to what's more to come in this wonderfully twisted story because I'm having a hard time in letting Sam, Link and his Finders go.

This is a great opener to a new series, The Finders, which introduces a strong cast of characters that bode well for a great series. We meet Samantha in the prologue as she is preparing to leave home to go live with a man she has never met as a result of being given up by her father in due of gambling debts he cannot repay. I liked Samantha straight away she is a good strong character that has a love for my kind of silly jokes that help her cope with her situation.
We jump forward 3 years and find Samantha still living with the man who claims to own her, Charlie, she seems to be living the high life on the outside but is quite clearly a prisoner in his home. The book touches on rough treatment by Charles but refrains from going into too much detail that keeps just on the safe side of this being a dark read. Samantha seems resolved to living the life her father sold her into and is kept controlled by cloaked threats from Charles; that is until the night an uninvited visitor arrives at Charles’ home that sends Samantha’s life into a tailspin.
Lincoln Davids is a cocky cheeky lovable character that sets out to remove Samantha from Charles' imprisonment along with his group of friends, The Finders, an elite collection of guys that track missing people. Once he has Samantha in his care they quickly develop feelings for one another and the sex is hot. However it all seems too easy and relaxed at first until the full story comes into play and I really enjoyed the twists to the story as they did.
My only issue with this book is that there were a lot of typos that at first I could dismiss but there was too many in the end to do so, it will be a great read if these are addressed. However I am really looking forward to the rest of this series and getting to know the side characters more.

Missing Link turned out to be a real surprise and I really did enjoy it greatly. I was a little doubtful about how it would play out when I first started reading it and whether it would be able to hold all the way to the end. Yet it did, really well mind you.

Missing Link has just the right amount of everything to keep you hooked and turning the page til the very end.

Sam has been 'sold' by her father after he loses a bet and has nothing left but his daughter, who is gladly taken away by the winning bidder. From that day life for Sam will never be the same. She is just going through the motions and hoping to survive another day. That is til Link shows up and turns her carefully laid out world upside down. Sam finally has something to fight for again.

Yet she is worried about what Link may be getting into and isn't willing to risk hurting him. Yet he still wants to help her escape.

I loved Link so much. He was a guy that was so easy yo fall for; all muscle and heart. A hero must always have a heart and treat his girl right.

Missing Link even had me laughing in some spots. *cue weird stares from random people* Stuff them, they have no idea what they are missing out on.

Hopefully there will be more to come of these series, cause I'll be reading the next one for sure.

***Debut Book ***

This is the first book by Addison Jane. And OMG this book was AMAZING. It enthralled me from the first page. I couldn't put it down. Until it was finished. I loved It.

Samantha's dad owes someone money and for payment he hands over Sam.

You root for Sam from the beginning. I think I held my breath half way through. There was plenty of OMG, NO WAY moments. The way in which this story is written is tasteful. You sort of forget that Charlie is the bad guy in parts. Then in others I hated him. When Link Davis appears in this story you hope he can fulfil his promise of getting her out. I couldn't guess which way this story was going to go, it had me guessing til the end. And let me tell you Link Davis is HOT.

I loved everything about this story and even though I couldn't wait to get to the next page I didn't want it to end. The character fit together perfectly. There wasn't one bit I didn't think never flowed. The style in which Addison writes has the story playing out in your head like a movie.

I CANT wait for the next book in the Finders series.

I was given an Arc copy of the book.

I give this book 5/5 stars

Missing Link by Addison Jane was an AH-MAZING debut novel that was full of chills and thrills!

This story takes you through the lives of Sam and Link and is a bit of a Cinderella tale. Link is a tall, muscular, sexy and sweet bad-ass investigator and professional protector...the whole package...can you say hot?!? Sam, a red-haired beauty forced to grow up far too quickly, has overcome a lot in her troubled past. She tastes freedom and finds strength for the first time after being held captive by a controlling, dark, and dangerous man. Link is her sinfully sexy and strong knight in shining armor who rescues her...for now...as oh-so-powerful Charlie and his men are everywhere.

Missing Link was slightly scary, thrilling, intense, raw and hot. I was on the edge while reading. The twists and turns of this roller coaster of a story suck the reader in...like a thriller-romance movie...and I loved every minute! I can't wait for book 2!

5 sexy stars!

Another really good book that I have had sitting on my kindle for a while. Suspenseful and deliciously evil in parts and then so sensual and sexy in others...especially when the hot and protective Link comes into the picture. He saves a young woman's life (Samantha) from the future abuse worse than what she has already endured for several years from Charlie, an evil and delusional collector of women to be trained for his sexual needs.
I really love books where a meek and dominated girl becomes a strong and hard edged woman and learns how to protect and stand up for herself (with a little training and a good man behind her).
This story ends with an HEA for now and the next book is set up as the relationship between Roman and Isla (another victim who is going through recovery) heats up a notch.
Dark, fast-paced with some unexpected surprises and a lot of passionate men who will die to protect those they serve.

☆☆☆☆☆ rating from JaM Book Blog

Addison Jane did an amazing job with her first book. The story was well told and it flowed very well. I love the characters, the plot, the whole thing.

Charlie is an evil asshole. Link I love him!!
Sam is stronger inside than she thinks

Sam dad is a gambler and after gambling everything away he gambles his daughter and loses so he gives her to Charlie. After three years she finds a way to get away. Will Link be her Savior? Read to find out.

This book was intense heart breaking and had you rooting for a happy ending.

It has love, crime, hero's, bad guys. What's not to love. I highly recommend this book. I look forward to reading many more books by this author.

I am honoured to have beta read for Addison and can tell you Missing Link does not disappoint!

Sam - her own flesh and blood did her the greatest injustice....what would you do in that situation?
Charlie owns Sam whether she likes it or not...I must admit I was intrigued by Charlie...like I loved him and I hated him at the same time!!
Link - OMG, 1 sexy man! He can protect me anytime!!

I was rooting for Sam through out the book and I hoped Link was the man to save her - no spoilers - does he do it? You'll need to find out!!

This was a beautiful story about trust , love and finding yourself. Sam is a beautiful young woman thrown into a life alternating experience that changes who she is for 3 years. She lost her only family and is forced into a relationship with a man who keeps her as a possession. Well all that changes when Link and The Finders come into her life. Let just say she gets her HEA. Addison Jane did an amazing job with this story and I can't wait for the next one on this series!!

Wonderful book! The story has everything - suspense, lust, love, laughter, sadness, and hot 6 foot tall men. I can't wait to read the rest of this series!

The Finders

This is the 3rd book I have read by this author. I am reading them backwards but that's okay.

I have enjoyed each one. Addison Jane certainly brings out the emotions in the reader. I think once she does better proofing/editing the books will be great. Looking to read more from this author. Thanks for the good read.
