The book is a complete guide in A-Z order for improving productivity, beginning with Attention, and ending with Zen.

The Author Graham Allcott gives a detailed break-up of each tip for easy understanding and its application. For example, Attention divided into 3 phases i.e. Proactive Attention, Active Attention, and Inactive Attention; 4 stage model of competence through which we perceive information and act upon it; breaking up your Inbox in a systematic manner to bring it to zero (not literally, but in a way to focus on important emails first); 3 major characteristics of Checklists; and many more.

The book explores difficulties faced by managing your Attention to setting goals, classification of Urgent vs. Important by asking Questions to yourself. Further, it explains the nature and manner of Review and how it is important to revisit your goals, current habits, reviewing them, and resetting/changing them as and when required.

The best part in this book, other than those mentioned above is ‘THINK ABOUT IT’ and ‘TRY IT NOW’ wherein in the former part the Author has placed questions for the reader to think upon, note, and then try to change his habits and in the latter part, quick ways to guide and apply the tricks. I have enjoyed this book in an exactly A-Z manner and learned various new concepts like BHAG and Batching, CORD productivity model, Master Action Checklist, 4 distinct phases of our Habits, using Lists as your second brain.

The book is recommended to all who love making lists in an organized manner and always strive to be able to manage their daily habits and complete their tasks.

Simple steps

Repeats a lot of info you can find in other books. Main idea is that you need to get things out of your head and on to paper.

Practical

Quick read as I was already familiar with most of the advises, tips, hints. I was looking for some case studies, perhaps storytelling or so.

Some helpful tidbits, particularly the 2min rule (if it takes 2min do it right away instead of putting it on a list) and the recommendation of the Todoist app.

I’ve read a lot about this subject, so didn’t learn anything new. But I like the 26 A-Z chapters and will probably refer to it when coaching others.

Once you read this book, you don't need to spend time on reading other Productivity/Self-Help books, even the classics like Covey's 'Seven Habits'. The author has done that for you and presents a simple A-Z approach of tackling your inner demons and getting work done. I found it to be a light read which can be spread over a long period. The chapters are easy to follow. I will try to use the CORD model and see if it's effective for me.

This book is just a simpler, less thorough version of How To Be A Productivity Ninja. Spend your time reading that one, it's a lot more elaborate and has exercises to help you implement Graham's methods. Introducing Productivity is too shallow to have any real impact.
