The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania is a nonprofit corporation formed in 1884 under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, U.S.A. It is used by Jehovah’s Witnesses to support their worldwide work, which includes publishing Bibles and Bible-based literature.

According to its charter, the corporation’s purposes are “religious, educational, and charitable,” in particular, to “preach and teach the gospel of God’s Kingdom under Christ Jesus.” Membership in the corporation is by invitation only and is not based on how much a person has donated. The corporation members and directors assist the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Excellent translation.
Makes Bible reading a pleasure.

The most accurate translation that you will find. Also, most likely the only edition that is free. Excellently placed the name Jehovah back in the original places, where it was before it was removed by other editions such as the King James and others.

Easy to read with the new font and use of modern language, yet keeping the true and accurate message of the holy word of God unaltered or twisted by men.

The differences between this and other bibles is not in terms of content per se, but in terms of easy and understandable english grammar. It also makes mention of the word-JEHOVAH 7,000 times in the book. Why? Because apparently original bible text referred to the name that many times.
It's translations are made from the Dead Sea Scrolls and Septuagint-the earliest texts of Bible Literature in order to highlight the authenticity of the scriptures.
My favorite aspect comes in the appendix, when in detail the history, measurements, explanation of the translation work and so much more are rendered.

I can't believe I almost forgot to review this book... it was wonderful indeed.
I have been reading this every single day since 2013. Loved it then, still love it now.
Even though I can now truly mark it down as on my "Read" shelf... I'll never be finished reading this book! Would recommend this read to everyone!
Can be difficult to read all on its own though... would also recommend reading this with the helpful study guides found on www.jw.org alongside it, to make sure you understand it all properly. The information on that site certainly helped me!

This will always be my favorite book. It wasn't always easy to understand for me but with this new version I understand it a lot better. Jehovah has blessed us again with one of the most amazing things. I definitely recommend this to anyone.

Great story, loved the Jesus character in the later chapters. The Saul/Paul character also had great character development. Props to the author. 10/10 would read again.

Terrible translation. I would not even call this a bible, a lot of passages are changed to suit the Jehovah's Witness doctrine. Some many contradictions too as you would expect from a 'changed' bible.

If anyone is going to read the latest revised (2013) edition you will notice even more passages are removed that aren't in the previous bible of theirs (John 7:53, John 8:1-11) list goes on, so what is more accurate? Neither. I'd recommend anyone studying Jehovah's Witness doctrines with this bible to look side by side with another publication of theirs called 'Kingdom Interlinear Translation of The Greek Scriptures'.

Quite simply the ultimate bible. Extensively researched, easy to read, and packed full of additional material to help you understand what you are reading. Initial pages provide a brief overview of the Bibles main teachings, with the rear providing insight into bible lands and life. Undoubtedly my favourite translation, with trustworthy and accurate rendition of the original text.

I have read through the Bible now , 15 times. I find it as the main guide to my life.
The Bible contains God’s message, or word, for us today. It shows us how to live our lives successfully and how to gain God’s approval. It also answers the many questions that we all have about life and the future.

The Bible book of Leviticus is the third of the 66 books of the Bible. It was written by Moses, under Devine inspiration, in order to record the laws, principles and guidelines that Jehovah God set for his people. Some of the topics touched on in this book include different offerings that were to be made to God, what the Israelites were to eat, what they were forbidden to eat, regulations for priests and also all about the Tabernacle. Also in the book of Leviticus we read of accounts were the Israelites were unfaithful to Jehovah and turned to false gods. Such instances as these made God very angry with his people having no choice but to punish the wicked and praise the loyal ones.
Admittedly, Leviticus is not the most exciting book to read, but nonetheless it has great value that anybody and everybody can benefit from. One of the little gems that I appreciate from this book is that we see how much Jehovah God cares about those who worship him. In chapters 13 and 14, the laws about leprosy, a formidable and contagious disease, are spelled out. It was the law that a leper must be quarantined outside the camp of the Israelites until they were healed, and they were forbidden to touch anyone. Remember that this is long before the discovery of germs and bacteria and how cause sickness, but when they followed gods instructions, the whole camp benefited by staying healthy. Also, I like chapter 19 verses 9 and 10 where Jehovah instructs the farmers to leave the outer portion of the crops in their fields standing so that the poor would be able to glean from them. This again shows God's love and compassion for his subjects. The one and only downside of Leviticus, in my opinion, is that it sometimes gets a little bit boring.
I strongly feel that every person who has access to a bible should take the time to read it, for there is no better means of assessing what can be changed in ones life and molding themselves accordingly.

Valuable, but too enthusiastic about inserting the Name into the Greek text. Only legitimate to cite YHWH when the original writer is quoting from Hebrew or Septuagint.

I love this new version of the New World Translation. It is clearly rendered and easy to understand. I am enjoying the new additions, eg: the Glossary of Bible Terms, the two appendices, and the Introduction to God's Word. This translation would make a good addition to anyone's Bible library. Appendix A highlights the responsibilities of a good translation, how the Bible came to us (one of my favorite sections), as well as charts of the Kings and prophets of Israel and the events of Jesus' life. This appendix also contains 2 must - read sections concerning the restoration of the Divine Name in the Hebrew (OT) and Greek (NT) scriptures. Interestingly, manuscripts and fragments of the Greek Septuagint Bible, the version Jesus and his disciples would have used, indicate the Tetragramaton was used in these first century Bibles. (Photographs provided in the appendix). Therefore, when quoting from the Bible, Jesus and his disciples would have spoken and written the Divine Name. In times past, "Jehovah" was more widely used and recognized by Christians as the name of God. It really has been only since the name has become associated with Jehovah's Witnesses that objections to its use have been promulgated. The personal name of God also appears in other language translations. The list of those can also be found in this section. For these reasons, the translation committee of the NWT has restored the Divine Name Jehovah to its rightful place. This is one of the reasons this translation is so refreshing. The translators have stood up to a tide of criticism. You may find it interesting to read the section on page 1731 under the sub heading "Why is the Divine Name missing from many Bible translations?" and on page 1733 "Why does the New World Translation use the form 'Jehovah'?" You may download your free copy at www.jw.org.

I really appreciate the New World Bible Translation Committee's efforts to create the 2013 revision of New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. The text is not only easy to read but visually appealing (the font and illustrations). I especially like the new features like the outline of contents for each Bible chapter, glossary of terms, maps, illustrations (of the tabernacle, Temple, measures, and weights discussed throughout the Bible). (You have no idea how many times I've had to look up an ephah or omer or mina, or tried to visualize what the Temple looked like.)
These and so many other features of the recent revision truly add to my (and others') understanding and appreciation of the Bible's messages. They also make referencing material throughout the Bible quick and easy, though I will still access the Watchtower Online Library frequently. I frequent both the library website and jw.org to get new material and reference most things for which I need clarification. (In fact, I'm actually reading the ebook version of the Bible and using the JW Library app, but hope to get a leather bound copy soon.)

This is absolutely the very best book that one can read! I don't know if I can say it any better than other 5 star reviewers, but I will say that this translation of the Bible is clear to read, honors ancient scrolls by restoring God's name to the original over 7200 places, and honors God because it is a true translation of his holy scriptures and holds true, without bias, to God's original message. I have no problem with other translations of the Bible, but this one is by far my favorite because of the clarity of the verses. I also really enjoy the maps in the back and the well-researched references in the front and back of the Bible. They really help me to understand what was going on in ancient times and what life was really like as individuals conducted business, traveled, and worked each day.

Full of plot holes. Contradicts itself. No clear narrative voice. Some pretty good stories; their entertainment value mainly derives from their absolute insanity. Overall this is a pretty good collection of interesting fables and stories, but not much more. Avoid the long passages about rules and lineage.

I enjoyed 1 Chronicles 14:10-16 which reminds us that we should always go to Jehovah in prayer before doing anything that could affect us spiritually in order to ask for his direction. And 1 Chronicles 16 reminds us that worship to Jehovah should be our primary concern in our life.

A must for anyone wanting to draw close to our GOD and Father, Jehovah and who is striving to live the most rewarding life possible. The only spiritual, learn to love and treat each other right guide, motivational, "self-help" book anyone would ever need.
All praise, honor and glory to Jah.
