Šis tomēr ir viens lielisks literārais žurnāls, pagaidām, šķiet, labākais, kas lasīts. D. Stīvens ir lielisks sarunas biedrs. Viņa Bukera balvas tipiskā romāna apraksts - "a creepy uncle who's lost all his money and lives in a lighthouse" - man likās ļoti trāpīgs. Cepums arī par V.Kolinsa " Woman in white" aprakstu.

Pēc kārtas pirmais Happy Reader numurs - brīniškīgs. Intervija ar lielisko Metjū atveidotāju no Downton Abbey (tikai nesen sev atklāju šo dārgumu) ir pārsteidzoša - neko nezināju par pašu aktieri, un viņš, izrādās, ir baigais grāmattārps, pat sabijis Bukera prēmijas žūrijā.
Otrajā daļā ar idejām apcakināta Vilkija Kolinsa "Sieviete baltā". Tik interesanti, ka apsveru iespēju šo gotisko ķieģeli kādreiz arī "pacelt".

Dan Stevens simpatizē vēl vairāk kā pirms tam! Būs jāizmēģina viņa sapņu veidošanas spēle - vakarā pirms gulētiešanas izlasīt pa nodaļai no dažādām grāmatām.....

Esmu lasījusi "Sieviete baltā", kā liecina mana atmiņa par grāmatas izskatu, tās esamība plauktā un goodreads vērtējums, bet pārsteidzošā kārta grāmata vispār nav palikusi atmiņā. Bet lasīt par tās ietekmi uz trilleru žanru un "ziepju operām" bija saistoši.

Tik tiešam happy reader.

Fell in love so much with this publication that I subscribed to a yearly subscription.

Lovely magazine. I really like the way it's set up, with the first part built around an interview with a notable reader and the second around a book of the season. In this issue, that was The Woman in White, and a load of other articles were built around that: from a piece on soap series to monochrome clothing.

I can recommend this to any avid and curious reader.

The interview is awesome - a direct transcript between the interviewer and interviewee - so casual and honest without forsaking the content.
