The main part of the book comprises an essay excerpted from Bulgakov's "Bride of the Lamb," part of his sophiological trilogy, which gives a good introduction into Bulgakov's theology. The essay is supplemented by a memoir of Bulgakov by Sister Joanna Reitlinger and an introduction by the translator Boris Jakim.
