Book one of the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club...

Duke’s friend’s little sister had been off limits when they were growing up, but Gen is all woman now, with the sexiest curves ever. However, bringing her into his life now, as the new Rolling Thunder chapter establishes itself as a powerhouse in Chattanooga, would put her in danger.

Gen has no idea she already knows one of the bikers until she arrives to show them some downtown properties they’re looking to buy.

They live in different worlds, and despite being a successful businesswoman, Gen has led a sheltered life. She wears couture, while Duke wears Levi jeans and his MC colors on a black leather vest. Not to mention, he's a werewolf and she's a blissfully unaware human. Can two people, so different, possibly work?

Warning: Graphic sex, and a controlling, drop-dead gorgeous werewolf who happens to be president of a motorcycle club.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Candace Blevins writes urban fantasy, paranormal romance, epic fantasy contemporary BDSM romance, and two kick-ass motorcycle club series. She’s published more than fifty books. Candace lives with her husband of twenty-four years and their two teenaged daughters. The family’s beloved, goofy, retired racing greyhounds are usually at her side as she writes, quietly keeping her company. Or sometimes not so quietly.

Her urban fantasy series, Only Human, gives us a world where weredragons, werewolves, werelions, three different species of vampires, and a variety of other mythological beings exist.

Candace's various paranormal romance series are all sister series to the Only Human series, and give some secondary characters their happily ever after.

Her Dark(ish) Faerie Tale series gives us a close-up and personal look at Queen Mab, and her Dark Underbelly series is, as you’d expect, dark and (if you’re a little twisted) oh-so-yummy.

Her contemporary Safeword series gives us characters who happen to have some extreme kinks. Relationships can be difficult enough without throwing power exchange into the mix, and her books show characters who care enough about each other to fight to make the relationship work. Each couple in the Safeword series gives the reader a different take on the lifestyle.

Good Lord, have mercy on my soul. Is it wrong to masturbate whilst reading this book and your husband is sleeping next to you?

Full disclosure, this book is a gift from the author. She tried to convince me this is not BDSM at all. It's vanilla all the way, although not boring sex. She even said she'd pose the question to others in the BDSM group and her facebook to ask what they think is BDSM versus Vanilla. Seriously? Ask a group of kinky people if it is kinky? How about asking Vanilla people if this is kinky? So that is what I did. I asked my sheltered vanilla sister and brother in law about a couple of the scenes. After some extreme blushing on their part, asking what a butt plug was and if Gen is sex slave, I can confirm this is NOT vanilla. It is delicious Sugarkink!

This is the first of a series which promises to be deliciously erotic with alpha males and strong women. Gen is Frisco's little sister. Frisco is from the Safeword series. With tie ins to the Chattanooga Supernatural series, guest appearances from our favourite characters pop in and pop out. All of this would seem distracting yet Ms. Blevins pulls it all together and makes this a multi-layered world. This book can be read as a standalone but it is really better if all of Ms. Blevin's previous books are read first.

Gen is a hot shot commercial real estate agent who is worth quite a bit of money at a young age. This is as expected because Ms. Blevins tends to lean towards characters who have money. I don't hold it against Gen because it is clear she worked hard for it and I happen to like money. When she shows property to a motorcycle club trying to move into town, it's where things get interesting. The president of this *cough* gang club is someone she knew from school. In fact, she crushed on him when he ran around with her brother. An older and accomplished Duke sweeps her off her feet and takes her for a ride on his bike.

The characters in this story are fabulous. I liked Duke in Aaron's story, Dragon King. Duke needed his own story and what a story it is. He may not be into BDSM, but he is totally into D/s without calling it D/s. I mean, seriously, asking for Gen to be sexually available to him at anytime? Instructing her to be ready to bend over a couch and pull her butt cheeks open to be plundered? What Vanilla couple does this? Because I want in on it!

The sex is super nova hawt! Ms. Blevins is always excellent when it comes to creating dominant men seducing strong will females. Gen is a surprisingly sexually innocent woman. The way Duke educates her into the joys of carnal pleasures is so good.

I am wet with desire. I shiver and quiver with anticipation as Duke plays her with forced orgasms and orgasm denial.

This is a lengthy story with a great plot. Every time I thought the story would be the end, it continues. This gives the story the chance for good world building, character development and bonding between the characters. This story can't be told; it needs to be experienced. When it ends, I'm wishing it continues. I can't wait for the next story in this series! This paranormal erotica is highly recommended to readers who love alpha men, hawt sex and a great story.

A biker who is also a wolf shifter...HOT!!!

I received a gifted copy from the author to read and review.

I really enjoyed this book about Duke, a shifter and a member of the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club and Gen, a workaholic real estate agent. Gen has been employed to show the RTMC some property around her area. When they see each other they realise they have known each other for years as Duke went to school with Gen's brother. Gen had a crush on Duke back in the day, not realising that Duke had thought she was a bit of alright as well. At first it's not the right time for Duke to make his move, but one night a few months later, Gen is out with a few friends and comes to a bar owned by RTMC. This gives Duke the perfect opportunity to make his move.

There is a lot of chasing going on. Duke chases Gen and Gen runs away. Honestly, I don't know what Duke saw in her. She was seriously uptight and a complete prude. Gen was about to get together with a biker and she doesn't like swearing, crude talk or inappropriate clothing (shaking head). She felt naked if she wasn't wearing a bra under her top for crying out loud. It takes Duke awhile to put Gen at ease, but when he finally does, he decides she's going to have to get used to the real him, shifter and all. There were some very hot scenes with Duke taking full control.

A few issues arise within the club and with Gen's work. Gen also has a douchebag ex who's a cop and doesn't like that she moved on from him to a biker. Definitely enough drama to keep the story moving nicely without it being over the top. A few things could have been fleshed out a bit more, especially with the gangs and drugs in the area.

Overall I enjoyed this story. I did think that the shifter part of it was very small. I would have liked to see a bit more pack/shifter politics explained but I'm thinking as the series goes on we might get more of that side of things. I really like Duke but wasn't a huge fan of Gen. I will definitely be reading more from this series in the future.

I have mentioned and complained before in this review about authors who want to promote their other books by involving the characters from series I have no intention on reading, in the new series. I got so lost in this book because of all these characters who I don’t know and don’t care enough to want to know them.

Pushing this issue aside, I have to point out a couple of things that bugged me much more than the character stuffing from this book.

What’s with the weird choice of words?

“Girl parts”? Really? I chose to roll my eyes and move on the first twenty times I had to read it, but once I found “boy parts” as well, I threw the towel and gave up.
It doesn’t make a 29 years old woman cute or innocent if she doesn’t use the common terms like “penis” or “vagina” when talking or thinking about male and female body parts, it makes her an idiot with the vocabulary of a 10 year old.

The other issue I had while reading this book is even though it has loads of characters, not even one is described. I have no clue how Gen or Duke, or any other characters look like. Are they blonde, brunette, pink? Are they very tall? Skinny? Do they have lips or eyes?

Yeah, whatever....

First to be honest I stopped reading at 49%. My reasons are pretty simple. I was getting ready to scream. Maybe someday I will finish but not anytime soon.

We "supposedly"have a very virile, tough, dangerous strong alpha. All I have seen so far is a non-alpha playing yes man to a TSTL girl. I don't care how much you have to stretch disbelief in a book. There is no way I buy a 27 yr old woman who has made a fortune in a cut throat business hasn't heard any sexual inneuendo's or been around girlfriends talking.

1. She's so offended around a swear word.
2. He used a bad word.OMG
3. What's 69? I never heard of it duh.
4. I get my way or I give and withhold sex whenever I want.
5. Teach me how to give a blow job. She's 27. A big scarey biker can't say tits, pussy, clit or anything without worrying he might upset the girl.

I wonder if she ever gives this dangerous alpha his balls back????

A couple things before I actually review the actual book material:

First, that cover is horrendous. I'm talking hella bad. They photoshoped a man's head onto another man's body (one that's not even wearing shoes???? everyone knows you don't ride any type of bike without shoes wtf), over a disproportionate motorcycle, in front of a shitty background??? Did they even try? Huff, whatever, that's my graphic design side coming out to bite me in the ass, I can't ever overlook a bad cover.

Second, Whomever wrote that blurb should be shot in the face.

"...Not to mention, he's a werewolf and she's a blissfully unaware human."

I hate it when summaries do that, as if the fact that he's a werewolf is an after thought or a last minute addition. It usually never bodes well for the story when the summary is phrased in such a shitty way. I mean, omfg I've read summaries ten times better from fucking 15 year old's writing fanfiction smut in their downtime. Seriously.

Not to mention I wanted to roll my eyes right out my skull:

"Despite being a successful business woman is been sheltered her whole life." I don't understand this. What does being a businesswoman have to do with being sheltered? I'm pretty sure you can have one without the other and vise versa. (oh, and of course the fact that it's completely wrong: "is been sheltered"?)

And then "She wears couture, while Duke wears Levi jeans and his MC colors on a black leather vest." Uh? What? What does what they're wearing have anything to do with the story? If this is pertaining to her sheltered upbringing then it should be more along the lines of "conservative" clothing not high fashion. Being up to date on fashion standards isn't being "sheltered". Not at least in the general sense. And I still don't understand how it is pertinent to the story.

And finally "Warning: Graphic sex, and a controlling, drop-dead gorgeous werewolf who happens to be president of a motorcycle club." *cue fucking eye roll here. I have this stigma against blurbs that "warn" me against stuff in the book. Usually, it's like someone bragging about their cool car and then when they actually show it to you its a fucking 2002 Subaru or something. To put it simply: its a sad ploy at getting people hyped up for something that isn't really worth getting hyped up about.

This blurb alone was what nearly made me put this book straight into the "nope" pile but alas the reviews kept telling me it's just too good to pass up so I took a chance.

I wish I had gone with my initial instinct.

This book was in all sense of the word amateurish. The writing was obviously written by a novice; the dialogue between characters was awkward and sometimes felt forced, the writing was choppy and didn't seem to flow well half the time, and the plot wasn't anything to get excited about.

I'd spend a lot of time complaining about this book and nit picking at every little problem I had with it but honestly, I just don't think it's worth my time.

Note to self: don't always be fooled by the reviews.

Most every sheltered and proper woman sees a hot looking bad boy and at least for one very fleeting moment, wonders, ‘What if?’ Want to add to the “what if” pot, just to sweeten it? What if said bad boy was pure male, pure alpha, the President of a powerful motorcycle club and, wait for it…pure werewolf? Stop drooling and pick up Duke by Candace Blevins and start those fantasy wheels spinning!

Gen was his friend’s little sister, but now she is all grown up, a successful business woman and back in Duke’s life. Too bad getting together could be dangerous for her, as she continues to live blissfully in her “human” world. Ahhh, another battle between the light and dark sides of life, but this one takes place as much between the sheets as it does on the streets as Gen wages her own war to keep her identity and Duke.

Love the dialogue Candace Blevins adds to this hot steamy romance. Talk about opposites attracting! Her characters are delightful, her writing strong and her imagination, well, hot! Who would think one real estate deal could bring two worlds colliding together with nuclear heat? Guess it’s true what they say, Location, Location, Location…Grab your helmets, trade those stilettos for boots and hang on tight!

I received this copy in exchange for my honest review.

Kitty's review posted on Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Yea, Duke. Just, yea.
I have no idea where to even start with Duke or the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club. Duke grabbed me when he slid down the pole and he didn’t let me go … he had me tied up and there was no way I wasn’t going to submit and not fall in love with this man.

So, if you’ve read The Dragon King, you’ve already met Duke. If you haven’t… no big deal. You’ll learn all you need to know about him in book one of The Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club. I promise you, you will not be disappointed … a werewolf biker. Wow.

As for a synopsis of the book. Well, I don’t think that there is a way for me to do this justice. There are way to many things going on in the story to even try to sum it up and make it make sense. You actually have to read it to appreciate everything … the werewolves, the hot sex, the nerdy Brain, Mike the asshole and and then the crossover’s. Don’t get me wrong, you can read this without reading the other series but what would be the fun in that? And, after reading Duke, you’ll just want to know more about Abbott, Cassie, Cam and Frisco.

Old friends that each had a crush on the other … Adults that are the same but so very different from what they were. An innocent woman who has a domineering mother, a protective brother and a string of bad luck with men. An experienced man who isn’t afraid to show his sexuality and teach her what he likes best and give her pleasure beyond her wildest dreams. A legitimate real estate broker and the President of a motorcycle club – two so totally different people drawn to each other in a way that only a man and woman in love can be. As they find their way into each others lives, as they face the reality of what can happen being the “old lady” to the MC president and as they try to meld the legal and illegal parts of their lives, you watch Duke and Gen stand together to face whatever is thrown at them. From him being a werewolf to Gen being kidnapped … nothing and no one will keep them apart.

So, I really think that everyone knows that I adore Candace Blevins. I love the stories that she tells and they way she tells them. What amazes me though is how she ties all of her series together. You could go from her Safeword series to her Only Human Series and now to her MC series and you’ll have an update as to what is going on in everyone’s lives. I think it’s wonderful that I can honestly say that I don’t have a favorite genre with Candace. Her Safeword series brought us into a dark BDSM world. Her Only Human Series is her first foray into the Paranormal. Now, an MC mixed with Paranormal with the dominance part of BDSM. But, it’s her writing that gets me. The way she brings you to the HEA, it’s never a straight line and it’s so real to life. It’s funny, Duke being a werewolf just makes this story paranormal. Anything and everything that happened throughout this story is probably going on as you read this.

So, take a chance on Candace Blevins if you haven’t yet. If it’s BDSM that you like to read, then go for her Safeword series. If it’s paranormal with a twist, pick up Only Human or The Dragon King. If it’s hot motorcycle men that just happen to be werewolves, well then this is your book. You’ll fall in love with Duke, you will adore Gen and Bethany. Brain will have you amazed and the rest of the crew will just have you sitting and waiting for more.

Gen always had a crush on her brothers best friend in high school, Keith. However once he left, she never expected to see him again. Now Duke is a biker with Rolling Thunder and a potential client for her real estate company. Duke makes his interest known from the beginning, but with their new arrival in town it is not safe for him to date Gen. Once the time has passed though, Duke moves in and Gen falls hard for Duke however it is not a smooth ride as tempers flare, danger lurks, and Duke reveals a secret about him being a werewolf.

This was a fascinating book. I was completely entranced from the very beginning. Duke is pure alpha and Gen struggles to find her way with him at times. Gen has a long history of being with cheaters and her fear that Duke would do the same is holding her back from fully embracing her love her him. Unexpected and a complete delight.

I liked it! I really liked it! I have to admit, the name of the series threw me off a little bit. Rolling Thunder is an organization that honors POW/MIA’s and has a huge ride to Washington DC every year. It’s kind of a beloved deal among military biker types and since I’m related to or friends with several of that very type, it’s a big deal to me to. To have it as the name of a Biker Romance MC just felt off to me. There’s not a thing wrong with it, it just didn’t sit right. Anyway, I’m glad I got over myself and read the book because it was a damn decent biker-lite read.
“They were right to keep me from you in high school. I was so fascinated by you, but I knew they were right. I knew you were too good for me and I knew I couldn’t…. if you hadn’t belonged to your brother, though, I’d have gone after you whether it was right or not.”

Duke was an awesome H. He was badass, alpha, hot, plus he was a werewolf and rode a Harley. I was in paranormal biker hottie heaven. He could be high handed with Gen, but he had no problem groveling, or compromising if he knew it was important to Gen. Gen wasn’t a virgin (Thank God, I am so over that tripe), but she wasn’t experienced. I loved how careful Duke was of her. Oh, and he was a dominant in the bedroom. While writing this description of Duke, I just let out a happy “if only he was real” sigh that you obviously couldn’t hear….
“I’m going to go easy with you, careful. I want you to trust me with you, Genesis. Trust me to take care of you, trust me to make it good for you, and trust me not to make you regret giving yourself to me.”

Gen was usually an okay h, but man did that girl have a temper. She could go 0 to 60 in the blink of an eye, and it was more than likely a reaction that was way out of proportion to the scenario, dare I say even melodramatic at times. This bugged me greatly. For the majority of the story she came across as being smart, successful and thoughtful. The smart thing kept me from hating her for her temper tantrums. As I’ve said many times, TSTL heroines are the absolute WORST. Thank God that Gen wasn’t one.

The other characters in the book were pretty fantastic too. I’m looking forward to reading more of them as this series continues. I didn’t know until I got a little of the way into this book that some of Gen’s friends have already had books in another series, Safeword, but I wasn’t lost, just intrigued. I will definitely be checking that series out ASAP.

Overall a great read, not the biker book Nirvana I’m on the hunt for, but a good read to keep me going.

I have read several of Candace Blevin's Safeword books and rated them as good or better. This story, Duke has previous characters from the Safeword series, including the main characters of Safeword Arabesque, but this story focuses on Frisco's sister Gen/Genesis and Motor Cycle Club President, Duke...and deviates into paranormal characters of werewolves and vampires. To be honest it didn't work for me. To suddenly find some of the characters whom one thought as human are now creatures from the fabled world was weird. I personally think Candace would have been better introducing a whole new paranormal cast for a totally new series. I do read some paranormal stories but didn't like the crossover of real to fantasy as this has.

There is also heavy emphasis on gun culture in this story, which I guess is fact of life for people from the USA. To me it was quite shocking how much emphasis on gun culture and safety security seems to be needed for daily life there and makes me think again about future visits. I'm from the UK, and yes, gun crime happens, occasionally, usually inner city gang culture aping US gang culture, or at times mentally ill who flip and go on a killing rampage, and who are often prior members of licensed gun clubs anyway...which is suspect in itself.

This has a dominant character in Duke...maybe it's loosely linked to BDSM, but lite on BDSM only.

It is borderline 3/4 stars for me. I shall continue reading the Safeword stories I haven't read but won't be following the paranormal series that Candace has veered towards as a tangent as not my personal preference.

Wow, a romance sub-genre mashup. There's an MC (motorcycle club) that's only semi-shady, a hot alpha male club president who -- wait for it - is also a werewolf! And suspense driven by the heroine's stalker-ex. And seriously hot adult content. I've added it to my BDSM shelf, although it isn't really. Mostly the hero (Duke) is super-alpha in the bedroom creating a D/s dynamic around sex.

Otherwise - Duke is a *gasp* supportive partner to Gen (Genesis), going the extra mile to be sure his club affiliation doesn't hamper her real estate career. Gen in turn qualifies as an action-heroine using both martial arts and a handgun to defend herself and others from assault.

Totally fun read in the 'now for something different' category.

*My only complaint were the references to the backstories of the some the secondary characters who appeared in MMA series. I haven't read those and the references were more distracting that helpful

~~ARC received by the Author for a honest review~~

What isn’t to like about Candace Blevins? I think I’ve had the pleasure of reading most of her work and call myself lucky that I have. Candace as a style all her own and she will always be a fav of mine.
This is Gen and Duke’s story... I have to tell you I went rounds with Gen, I even vented and told Candace that I was ready to smack the girl. I kept going back and forth liking and not liking her. Gen has made her own way, her own way and she has it all well except for a man. But since her last venture she has sworn off men. She is a force to reckon with in the real estate world, hell she is wearing $1600 suits and $900 Jimmy Choo’s..(on sale)
But for all Gen is she is innocent in a lot more ways.
Duke ah.. Strong confident and a bad boy if there ever has been one, He and his club lives by their own rules and when it suits their purposes they follow the towns rules. When Duke caught sight of Genesis (love the name), all he could think of is she is all grown up now.
Why I was a yo yo about liking Gen, it seemed she was always looking for a reason to go against Duke and the continued threat.. I know people and will use them to keep you away from me... Got old quick, but then she redeemed herself. Though Duke is the President of a motorcycle club and rough around the edges, he continual tries to do right by Gen.
I just feel in love with this story.. They Dynamics as well as the bevy of awesome characters and we even get to see old characters that we love. Then their is that special something Im going to have to go back to Safe-word :Arabesque to see if it was a hint. Nice with the Candace :) The story line was just on hit along with some pretty hot scenes that should have you fanning your face.
Its a wonderful story and Im glad that I had the chance to read it, I do recommend it. Enjoy

I was only able to force myself through 67%! This was like a bad porn flick turned into a book. I really tried to like it, buy the ridiculousness of the female lead character was beyond belief, and the paranormal component was childlike in it's limited presentation and representation. My 13 year old son writes paranormal short-stories and has far more creativity and ingenuity. I actually continued to read mesmerized by the continued first-grade dialogue, wondering if it could possibly get worse...it did. I hate to leave such a negative review, but this really was a waste of my time. I need brain bleach.

This was a really good book and I loved Duke. Duke’s friend Frisco his little sister had been off limits when they were growing up, but Gen is all woman now. Duke and Gen meet up again when his club Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club is opening a new chapter in Chattanooga, Tennessee where he grew up at the realtor showing them the property is Genesis "Gen" who caught her boyfriend having sex with another woman in her bed. In the beginning I liked Gen a lot she wasn't a push over she carried a gun and knew how to use it and at other times she seemed to naïve to be 29 years old. This was my first time reading a paranormal mc and I also like the club they cleaned up the area and didn't deal in drugs and although they did deal with hookers it was by choice not force. Duke is an alpha male he is sexy and I really liked that he protected those around him. This book had a few surprises in it some of the other character's from Ms. Blevins books and I really liked that and it made me want to read her other series. Gen's ex boyfriend Mike the cop goes off the rails bugging her house stocking her and even kidnapping her and a client. I also liked the brothers in the MC Brain the rich kid computer hacker who is the V.P. and Bash. The sex scenes were really good although Gen was inexperienced and had never given a B.J. Duke was something else and his wolf liked her to. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series Brain.

OMG, when is the next book?

Bad boy, good girl, hot sex. It's a little kinky, but not the BDSM we usually get from Candace Blevins. She proves she can write sweet and gentle and still keep it steaming.

Another great story by the talented Candace Blevins.

I really enjoyed the club setting. Duke and Duchess were great together.

Bikers, shifters, vampires, sexy time, this story had it all.

Great read, great sex scenes, light on the MC lifestyle 4 stars because it left me wanting more of the werewolf. I liked Gen's strong character especially the way she dealt with the ladies of the club.

2.5 disappointed stars.

I really wanted to like this book but it just fell flat for me.

First off, I was lost with all the characters. It feels like I should have known who they were but this is the first Blevins book I've read so I had no idea about Aaron, Ethan, Sophia, Frisco, Isaac, Cam, Cassie, Bethany, Abbott...etc, etc. It seems like all these people are cross-overs from other books and series but to me it was just a little overwhelming.

I really hated Gen and I felt no connection to her at all. Too much talk about drinking and guns. It almost felt like she had no emotions at all and she was always threatening Duke about ending their relationship. The dialogue between them was at times cheesy or overly clinical and the sex did nothing for me. I don't know why she refuses to swear or talk-dirty and her swear-alternatives were silly.

The whole werewolf thing seems like it was just thrown in there with no real impact. OK, they can smell and hear better, big deal. Duke was always talking about how "his wolf" was doing...awkward. Gen's reaction to learning that her boyfriend is a shifter is nonchalant and quite unrealistic. No reaction at all when she finds out Abbott is a vampire and Isaac is "something".

The whole mess with Mike "the ex" was also quite typical and predictable.

There was no mention of why the club decided to leave Atlanta to create a new charter. Why is there a weird dynamic between the pack and the MC? Oh yeah, why the hell do we not know that Duke happens to have a twin brother!!! This gets mentioned at the end with a casual by the way and of course, Gen has no reaction.

This book dragged and I was sometimes bored, other times frustrated or rolling my eyes!!!

I was intrigued by Brain though, so I might look into his book.

I really enjoyed this read. Gen is a very strong independent woman who has known Keith/ Duke since high school, and had a crush on him then. But now he's the head of a big bad motorcycle club. It also turns out, he's a wearwolf. This is one of the first I've read with super naturals. I found it unusual, where Duke is described as being two people, rather than the whole. He comunicates with his wolf...well it's different.
I love Gen as a character, she's very strong, and funny at times, yet Keith can twist her round his finger...he tell, and try's to ask at times, but he's the boss and if she wants to argue, then expect to pay the consequences....I found this hot.
I love how he's described as hugging her, snuggling, and kisses the top of her head.
Not totally sure of the gloved hand to lube her bum, for anal sex, but the experiance had me hot around the collar. There are several hot scenes...loved what they did to the ex boyfriend ...quite graphic, but he deserved what was coming to him....sex slave, that was just!!!!!

I did enjoy this book, but there were bits that I found confusing, and slightly annoying...she said this, he said that...rather than just getting the characters to talk for themselves, and I found myself loosing days. They had a break, and yet she sore from the days before activities???, they'd been apart for a couple of days, so why was she sore?.... Just odd bits I found confusing. But on the whole I loved this book, and will read more from this author

This would be my first sampling of Ms. Blevins' work and I can’t fathom why it has taken me so long to dip my tongue in for a little taste. I probably shouldn’t have started with Duke, since it’s not really where the story begins. Luckily for me it can be read as a standalone and boy was it a treat!

If you love your alpha males and your female characters strong, then you’ll love Duke and Gen. Duke is all alpha and Gen is all badass independent woman but when they disagree they are both adult enough to keep their emotions in check and talk things through. I’m happy to say there was no roid rage-like rampages or petty nail scratching hissy fits.

As a lover of PNR and MC reads, I have to say this was a lovely mix of both. I recommend this to all PNR and MC lovers alike. Even those that don’t normally read PNR or MC, this is a pretty good place to start. It’s well written, the characters don’t make you want to throw your Kindle at the wall, and there is steamy-not-quite-so-vanilla sex. This sweet romance is definitely worth the read.

Bad boy biker + alpha werewolf + morphing male appendage = Party in my panties. How can you say no?

A MC with a bunch of werewolves? Yeah baby! Ms Blevins continues to build the supernatural world around Chattanooga. Characters from other series make appearances in this story. The heroine is the little sister of Frisco. Isaac, Abbott and Tyler also are part of the story. While Rolling Thunder MC is mostly clean, they have some business that isn't. They also abide by their own code of justice. Not things you would expect a high powered business woman to accept but somehow it all works. Throw in an ex-boyfriend/cop and you know there is bound to be trouble.

I very much enjoyed meeting the RTMC and look forward to Ms Blevins has planned for the MC.

I liked the story and even though I'm a MC purist, I enjoyed the supernatural crossover...However HATED Gen.....I can't remember disliking the female lead to this extent before....I do like strong women leads. ...what a whiney, little prissy bitch...High maintenance and self righteous much??

its my first book by Blevins, and although I fancy the Safeword series, I am really hesitant to try another of her books based on the exceptionally annoying " almost put the book down can't finish because I want to stab the female lead" main character....

I loved the concept and since I didn't read the blurb I loved that the shifter aspect was a surprise that being said.... this is freaking long and it doesn't even need to be. I would have loved it probably if the h grew up and stopped being a brat the whole time and if it was condensed. I also felt lost in the world this book took place in. I think there's a way of introducing a world to readers without confusing the heck out of them and this didn't do that for me... that being said. I'm gonna move to book two and see if redemption is in sight ...wish me luck

A nice MC club read. Very little blood, adequate amount of sex, and of course shifters, a vampire and a shifter we really know very little about. I'm hoping to learn more about that mystery in the next book.

I read this whole series before I read this first book because I started with Razor (the M/M book in this series) and didn't like Gen in any of the other books.

So, she wasn't as judgmental and small minded in this book as she is as a side character in the other books but she's such an unbelievable character regardless this is one of the few "misses" in this series for sure. This felt like a very amateurish first book.

Super predictable, but also under uses all the paranatural elements and overuses the drinking, guns and ridiculously inexplicable naivete of the cut throat shark business woman.

If you gave up on the series because you started with this one, I would recommend giving the next book in the series a chance. I think they get much better.

Hello couture ... meet biker !!!

well, I have to say for myself that I read a lot and I like to think that I've seen it all, but this book right here is like no other. and the love story between Gen and Duke is one of a kind !!

it's a mix of romance, tough MC characters and whole lot of supernatural (but now instead of a "WTF" way more in the direction of "COOL").

But for the most part its a love story between a girl who got hurt a lot and who is willing to risk it again for a biker (!!!) but she is also fighting not to repeat the mistakes from before and to loose who she is in this new relationship that is more like "heads-on-collision" but too hot to just ignore and give up. its a description of clash of wills and may-the-best-argument-win situations. and you get sooooo hooked up you love every minute of it!!

" .... “It’s going to take time for me to trust you, too, Keith.” Duke nodded. “I’d prefer it if you trusted me until I gave you a reason not to, but knowing your history, I’ll give a little leeway. I was serious about you not acting afraid of me, though. Not gonna hurt you....”

Gen is a smart, mind-on-the-business girl that plays with the big boys and does well in the 6-zero-commision world of real estate. she also got hurt a lot and is careful with her heart. she is innocent but also fierce as a fighter to defend herself and those she cares about, the is bending the rules but staying on the good guys side and she kicks ass without breaking a nail or messing up her couture suit. she will drive you up the walls in this book and that is one of the reasons you will love her once you read it. you want to hang with her not only for her wardrobe and shoe collection but also cause she is a true fighter that earned every little and small thing in life and is still real like the rest of them.

Duke is more than meets the eye and its a beauty to see him dealing with the MC world, the tiny part of supernatural (LOL- you need to read the book to see what I mean by this ROLF!!!) as well as fighting not to loose Gen, to make up for the mistakes he made and trying his best no to repeat them. And you have to keep in mind that we are talking here about one stubborn, bossy, determent, do-what-I-say Alpha !!!!!! and he's got the brains to go with the good looks. He's street smart, rough around the edges, honest, fair, though, a leader but not based on force, he's kind, generous and all that is packed with a body that is irresistible to Gen from the start and it just gets better.

"...He went to the bathroom, brought back a warm washcloth, and wiped her down as if she were a precious treasure. This man was so rough around the edges, could be so crude at times, and yet so gentle, so caring..."

These two have a bumpy start, they are hitting it all head-first from the very begging - from the matter of her ex, to the harsh reality of his world, adapting in a world that you have no idea how and what to do, no privacy whatsoever, to the resentment towards the biker lifestyle to making it work as a couple in the mix of it all and sticking to each other through and through. and the only spoiler I will give you is that they make it to their HEA and its a well deserved one.

Candace has done a great job dipping her toes in this genre and she stayed true to her form of writing and to her gift of developing meaningful characters that you want to hand around for a looong time. AND !!!!! she didn't ditch her well known sadistic streak so -- all is good in the world !!! you get to meet again all of the lovely characters from her previous books and as a true fan of her work, I saw squealing like a schoolgirl meeting a boy-band while reading those parts.

at the end ... all that I can say is that Candace has proven that even Jimmy Choo and couture would look good on a badass Harley-Davidson !!!! and makes you think of going out there and finding yourself a biker

Not only are Duke and Gen from two very different worlds, a relationship would put Gen’s life in danger in this thrilling paranormal romance.

Duke is the werewolf president of the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club and Gen is a successful business woman and while he’s not sure how she’ll fit into his world, his wolf and him are in agreement, they will claim the independent Gen for their own and the reader can’t help but get drawn into their romance as the attraction grows stronger and the sex scenes burn hotter during this rocky courtship. These strong demanding characters grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning while the fast paced and smooth flowing plot thrills readers with lots of suspense, action and passion.

Expectation build throughout the story as Duke and Gen strive to make their relationship work despite all the obstacles and the closer they come, the more this couple jumps from the pages with their combustible personalities.
Opposite attract is one way to put it, I don’t think they could have been more opposite which leads to some fiery encounters and heated passion filled clashes which adds lots of spice to the story while danger from Gen’s past and enemies of the MC adds lots of exciting action. The well written scenes and details paint vivid images and bring the story to life making it easy for the reader to get completely lost in the story while the well-orchestrated events ensure that there is never a dull moment.

Candace Blevins has created a fascinating universe full of captivating characters, unique and interesting elements and what’s more the Kirsten O’Shea universe gives me not one but three wonderful series to enjoy, each with their own hooks and characters but interconnecting in an intriguing way that promises many great adventures to come and I can’t wait for the next exciting read.

Although this is the first in the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club series, it apparently has characters crossover from a different series, which I haven't read. Although this was in no way detrimental to the storyline itself, it did mean that I was glad when a bit more detail was given about who did what and where!

This is a case of opposites attracting and for some reason, I could just never picture Gen and Duke together in my head. They are both well described but it just never gelled in my mind. I guess the most obvious reason is that Gen is so high maintenance and prissy in parts, that I just couldn't figure out how the two of them managed to stay together! Gen's reactions to some situations was over the top, that even with her history, just couldn't be quite explained away. In other cases, I loved her reactions and thought that she was sassy. Duke is called controlling in the synopsis, but I would also call him overbearing too. I liked him, but I would have kicked him into touch a few times!

This is a long book but big chunks are taken up with the rules and regs of the MC, backstory and suchlike. Then other things come along and blindside you, like the fact that Duke and the MC were having trouble with the local cops, headed by Gen's ex! There was nothing even hinting at this.

Overall, an enjoyable read. Recommended more so for fans of the MC world, than for those who like paranormal.

* I received this book from Bit 'n' Books in return for a fair and honest review. *

I really liked this book.
I would have given it a solid 4 stars but there were some situations that both MCs ended up in and how they handled them that seemed to be unrealistic to me.
For instance

Anyway, like I said, I did like this book, that scene and others didn't take away from the book at all. It just didn't seem to work for me. With that said 3.5 stars.

Oh, I might add that there are a lot of other characters from other series by this author that are in this book and while you can read this without having read them. I'm sure it would have been beneficial to have some knowledge of those books before reading this one. The author tries to explain it, but to me, it was very confusing to keep up with.
