This is a book for job seekers that covers just about every interview scenario that they might have to deal with and includes over 200 examples of just about every question they may be asked, with examples of appropriate answers.
Provides inside information from an author who is frequently asked by organisations to interview candidates, design assessment centres, and train interviewers. He writes the questions for interviewers to ask - and tells them the answers they should listen out for.
This new edition includes a new chapter on building rapport and making a confident impact.
This book was exactly what I wanted it to be. Basically, it was just filled with over a hundred standard interview questions with suggestions on how best to answer them. No insight was too surprising, and I found most of the answers revolved around themes such as using an example, spinning things into a positive light, and answering based on key skills from the job description. Although, I will say that some of the suggested answers felt robotic/rooted in bureaucracy rather than giving honest and intentional responses; In those instances I simply through out the suggestions and crafted my own. Still, it was good to ruminate on how to answer interview questions being fed directly from someone who creates those questions for the interviewers.
The most beneficial aspect of this book was the suggestions on how to maintain nerves/project confidence during interviews. It was a good to have some tips for breathing, body language, and visualizations to keep me cool and confident.
Extremely helpful. Plan to use this material in the future. Especially liked the chapters which contained sample questions. Will be practicing with these, in the coming months!
