Tales of the Citadel #48

Arguing the Basics

Rate this book
Koara has always loved being able to predict the effects of social change and what is needed to make it happen. On her own world, she set matters in motion when she was twelve years old, and it cost her her planet. While some folk enjoy an evolving society, others fight to remain the same, and their actions can take a violent turn.

Citadel Lowel becomes her home, and a Yaluthu adopts her as its own. Life is going along well until she is given an assignment that removes her from her comfort zone and she has to alter the way she sees the worlds around her or disaster will take over.

Another heroine to love from Viola Grace. I love the lesson she learns a about herself and her gift most of all.

I thought her talent would be differnt based on the title but it is very cool. The love story is okay as is the worldbuilding but the philosophical piece and the heroine make this a good read.

This one was heading for 5 stars but I just thought the ending was too abrupt.

And what's with the page count going from around 90 pages to now being 60 odd. I don't mind the odd book being super short, but they are now all appearing at this reduced number. Not happy :(

3.5 stars.

Someone who can foresee social changes via social re-engineering... what I wouldn't give to see this type of power in our politicians!
