Clever and fun

The simple word games were fun and when you saw the answers in the ones you couldn't figure out they made perfect sense. It was a fun way to spend some alone time. I was quite happy when I got some right and was quick to laugh at the simplicity of the logic on the ones I missed. I am ready to move on to book two. At least I think I am ready.

I like brain teasers so I got this book.

It was short (hence the 30 riddles) and I knew quite a few of the riddles because I had seen them before but, I still had an iota amount of fun.

Not too shabby.

Cool

I liked this book because I love brain teasers. I only gave it 3 stars because it could have been a little longer.

Just as advertised, 30 puzzles to tease your brain. Ignore the length of the volume, it’s mostly ads so similar books. So about 30 minutes of your time. Easy to average difficulty level. My brain isn’t really wired this way, but someone…Riddler, maybe…would speed through these. But they were fun. And free. And it had an option of getting a clue before revealing the answer, which was nice. One of the puzzles technically had an alternate answer…a very fertile 80some year old man can in theory have a daughter who is 62 and a daughter who is 12. Anyway, these are good for some light entertainment, albeit very brief.

These games are entertaining! You can even get hints prior to viewing the answer. Merely with a click, clues are made available which makes this read unique. There are games for all ages ranging from kids to adults, however mostly for adults and teens. If you are looking for something to amuse as well as exercise your brain, then this may be a good choice in books for you. The games are designed to play anywhere even in the car or at a community area. They are good to keep your mind in shape and handy to have when you don’t have much to do. There is a total of 30 and a variety of games to choose from. This is a fun way to exercise your cerebral muscles. My only con was, a few were hard to figure out how to do, though most are fairly self-explanatory.

i could’ve written a better book. some of the questions were very generic, which are found on all books of these sort. though, some were new to me and really required thinking. all in all a good book to solve with friends and family! got me interested more in puzzles and riddles

This is a book of brainteasers for beginners. If you're familiar with brainteasers or do intermediate or advanced levels - this is not the book for you. If you're brand new to brainteasers this offers up some classic and some I haven't heard to get you introduced and hooked on this kind of puzzle suitable for tweens on up through adulthood. The format is pretty cool and easy to use. You read the brainteaser and then have the option of seeing a clue or revealing the answer to see if you're correct. The clues are pretty good and in general don't simply give the answer away without requiring any thought. You can then click to go back to the teaser or see the answer. Then you can click back to the next brainteaser. This is a nice introduction to the world of brainteasers. I've already recommended this to several people and would make a great digital stocking stuffer. I did receive this at a free or discounted rate in exchange for my honest review.

This was a fun brainteaser book. I probably wouldn't buy it, but since I got it for free, it was definitely worth the time. Just to look at some numbers, out of the 30, there were 9 that were so obvious that I solved them as I was reading them. There were 8 others that I solved by reading them a second time or by thinking through the logic myself. There were 2 that I solved thanks to the clue that was given. There were 3 others that solved but I got a different answer based on the information that was given. The final 8 I did not solve, in some cases based on weird wording that made it difficult to understand what they were looking for.

If you like brainteasers, you will likely enjoy this book. It has a few classics along with some that I'd never heard before. Just be aware that there is some weird wording and odd punctuation, which makes some of them hard to solve simply because you're not entirely sure what the brainteaser is saying.

This will be used over and over again over the holidays. A perfect book for road trips and family game nights as the brain teasers are so much fun. Even more so as the book was FREE using my kindle unlimited plan.

This short little puzzle book had a variety of brainteasers--some very simple and some more complex. It's set up well so you can get a clue or see the answer to each puzzle individually so you don't accidentally see the answer to a later puzzle.

Free Kindle book. Easy "brain teasers." The book is designed to "tease" you into buying other books of brain teasers. The exercises weren't compelling or all that difficult. If you want to congratulate your self on your mental acuity, this short book is for you.

Good warm up exercise for brain

Nice exercises. Thought provoking. Well organised and assembled. Some are too easy but some will make you think more and ponder over the answer

I rarely write critical reviews, and even my critical reviews aren't usually that critical, but I'm having a hell of a time getting passed how this book starts out. It opens with a puzzle about a homeless man picking up cigarette butts. It's really hard not to be offended as someone who actually lived through being homeless years ago. Seriously, why?

"A homeless man picks up cigarette butts discarded in the street. He can make one cigarette with 5 butts. Today he is lucky, he found 25 cigarette butts. How many cigarettes will he make?”

The homeless man found 25 cigarette butts in one day and he was lucky? Fuck you!

Great for Teachers and Parents

Upper elementary teachers could use this to teach close reading, critical thinking, small group discussions, a challenge of the week, and many more lessons. Or just add the book to your box of brain teasers for reading on their own. Middle and high school teachers can use them as model of how to write their own brain teasers, critical thinking, differentiation between criticizing and critiquing. Some kids my enjoy them on their own, but probably if you try to answer the questions when your child asks you.

The cons: book was way too short (only thirty questions), and several questions were silly trick questions. The pros: this provided fun material for our family game night, the Kindle version was free on Amazon, and the book had a handful of really clever logic games that made this worth going through.

It was fun

This was the beginner group of brainteasers with a lot of variety, word puzzles, math, logic, and some just common sense. Some I found easy, some took a lot of thought and some I gave up and looked at the answer. I recommend this book as a fun way to challenge yourself. There are other books in the series also that you should consider buying.

I loved it

It would definitely be great for kids who are bored and on a road trip with their parents it will also be helpful with learning problem solving skills that every person should know. I would highly recommend this book and this author and i totally wish that there was more of them for free for people who are on fixed incomes or have no incomes.

Definitely Charles the brain

This was a bit challenging for those with cognitive challenges from determination. It was fun and enjoyable though. I will revisit again for brain therapy.

Fun to do with my son

This was a fun. Little book to do with my son. There are a couple of eye rollers, but there are some good ones too and it got my 11 year old off the electronics for a bit.

Teasers in this small book are in real sense teasers to the more advanced teasers. (pun intended)
You might like to check it out when you want to start from scratch. This book gives few really popular puzzles which is the USP!
