Book 1: The Tyndale Code Book 2: The Codex Book 3: Coming soon
I enjoyed this book until the ending. I thought the ending was very weak and anti-climatic. Don't know if I'll be interested in reading any more of his books.
This is the first book I have read from Daniel Patterson. A reviewer on Amazon states that this book is a good introduction to his writing and I would agree now having read TTC.
I am quite impressed with Patterson's writing. It is specific, concise and is descriptive enough to enable the reader to be in the story. No stumbling blocks or having to interpret or decipher what the author is trying to say. I also loved the subtle examples of humour scattered throughout.
The length of this story is just long enough to do justice to the pace and events of this action packed, fast paced plot. Any less than this length and this novella would fall flat.
There is a lot to like in this novella.
The Tyndale Code has been a rewarding introduction to the writing, creativity and passion for the things of God that Patterson has and I look forward to experiencing this again in The Codex.
Wow what a ride. This book is so much fun. Settling down to read this book, to me was like tucking into a good meal. The story was exciting and kept me interested the whole way through. I didn't want to put it down and because the chapters are nice and short, there is always time to read 'just one more chapter'.
I have always had an interest in William Tyndale and this book has sparked my interest to find out more about Tyndale and the history of how out bible came to be. I love the way this book is based on history and brings to our attention what Mr Tyndale went through so we could have our bible. It has reminded me to appreciate the word of God and what it cost to get the copy I now own.
I cannot wait to read the next book in the series, and any other Daniel Patterson book. Daniel Patterson is fast become a favorite author.
Zack is part Indiana Jones & part James Bond. Exceptionally intelligent, he finds creative yet realistic ways in & out of trouble. As much as I enjoyed Zack's character, I was rather partial to the adventurous nuns who assist him a bit. They certainly are courageous! Though there are a tremendous amount of Biblical archaeology fiction works available, I was impressed that Daniel Patterson picked one that hasn't been overdone. In fact, I don't know of another Tyndale based novel or novella. As a prequel, it definitely piqued my attention enough to encourage me to read 'The Codex' which is next in this series.
While there are violent situations, there are no graphic details & it's minimal. There aren't any risky situations whatsoever. I am continuing the series based off this prequel. I give it 4 stars.
This is a great novella. I don't always like novellas but I loved this one. I loved Zack Cole and look forward to many more stories including him. This was a scary adventure to retrieve a bible printed up by William Tyndale. Lots of action in a novella. I received this ebook from the author for a fair and honest opinion.
The Tyndale Code kept me "turning pages" if you can call it that while reading an e-book. Only complaint is that it should be longer. I'm used to 300-400 page novels. More time to get to know the characters!
I really like the idea behind this book. But it took a while to build and then was immediately over. I feel like it was lacking something, maybe more story less drama? The characters were good. Still a lot of questions.
