Books Devil's Dust MC Series Devils Dust Legacy MC Series Sin City Outlaws MC Series
It's been quite some time since I've read a biker romance and this one did not disappoint. This is the first book I've read by M. N. Forgy and I was pleasantly surprised. This book was suspenseful and sexy!
Dani has grown up under the over-controlling reign of her mother. Every detail of her life has been manipulated to mold her into her mother's vision of the perfect, proper lady. Even as a young adult, Dani has little control over her life.
When her mother witnesses something she shouldn't have, Dani is forced to go on the run with her mother. Seemingly desperate and out of options, Dani's mother reaches out to her ex-boyfriend Bull, the President of the Devil's Dust MC. It only takes one look for Bull to realize that Dani is the daughter he never knew existed.
Thrust into the MC lifestyle, Dani finds herself inexplicably drawn to the sexy bad-boy biker, Shadow. He seems equal parts attracted to her and determined to prove that she is a snobby, pampered princess. Yet, despite her sheltered upbringing, Dani finds herself feeling more at home among these bikers than she ever had elsewhere, much to her mother's anger.
Despite being off-limits as the President's daughter, Shadow and Dani finally act on their attraction. The two share a steamy secret romance before lies and betrayal threaten to ruin everything. A huge secret comes out, which changes everything for these two.
I enjoyed every minute of this story. It was hot and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I listened to the audio version and it was well-narrated and easy to follow. Unlike many MC romances, this one was not too overdone. It had just the right mix of sexiness and action. This book ends with a bit of a cliffhanger and I will definitely be continuing this series to see how things work out.
Free book, yay! (there should be a special font for sarcastic comments). I dunno why I expected a free read to be a good one. The female character was so damn annoying, I wanted to kick her ass a few times, she acts like a little princess and gets all hurt every time something happens. Then she turns around and does something completely out of character. It was so confusing.
The action felt clipped like I was reading more than one book at a time.
Luckily, the male character wasn't too bad (although, spoiler alert, he is really annoying in the first part of the second book). He wasn't good either, he was bipolar and annoying, just not as bad as her. Still, for some reason, it made me curious about the next book. It had an unexpected ending, so I'll give it that.
Oh yes, and it ends in a cliffhanger. GAH!
I expected more from this author, I really enjoyed her other biker series. But I guess we all have our moments.
What Doesn’t Destroy Us has been on my TBR for months and I could kick myself in the ass for that. This book/ series blew me away and I highly recommend everyone to give it a chance even if you are not a fan of MC romances…just trust me and read it! By 10% I was “in“, so caught up in this story that I knew I had hit gold.
Hmm...That's what I said when I finished reading this book. I didn't know how to feel about it. Some parts I kind of liked, but others I just didn't care for.
The story starts off with Dani and her mother running away from New York, because of some threat they have on their lives. With very little explanation, Dani's mother takes her to the Devil's Dust MC, where she will finally meet her father. I did not like her mother from pretty much the start. She withheld information, was acting all shady, and a horrible temper and would always put Dani down. So, I totally got why Dani hated her mother so much. However, Dani was also really annoying, and I didn't like the way she treated people at times. I had trouble following her thought process, because a lot of the time, it didn't make sense to me. Especially when it came to the Sargent-At-Arms she has an attraction to, Shadow. The attraction between them seems to occur from nowhere and it explodes just as fast. I could not connect to them as a couple, nor did I ever truly feel a chemistry between them. A lot of it seemed forced to me.
Shadow was alright for a while, but then I got so mad at what a jerk he became. I just couldn't believe how he treated Dani. I was honestly surprised Dani could forgive him so easily. The only character I seemed to really like was Bobby, and he was Shadow's best friend. The drama in this book was a little too much for me. I became annoyed with all the fighting that Dani and Shadow seemed to be doing, even though they got off on it. At least the steam wasn't bad. But, I didn't get how the fell in love with each other so fast. I mean after one kiss, Dani was already jealous of any girl going near Shadow.
This did have potential, but the writing of this book made the story not flow well. I wish I could say I loved the main characters but they acted a tad bit too immature and had mood swings going from hot to cold in an instant. I also didn't like the double standards of how Shadow reacted when a guy went near Dani, but if a girl went near him, it's no biggie. The last third of the book did get a bit more interesting, so I was happy about that. A lot of things happened that was able to hold my attention. And then a cliffhanger happens, one I was totally not expecting. But, it did make me curious about what will happen next. Overall, the book was not great but it was okay, I probably will read the next book, just to see if it gets any better. I may have not enjoyed like I would have wanted, but I have seen many reviews of those who have. So, who knows, you might enjoy it as well.
MY RATING: ☆☆☆☆☆ "What Doesn't Destroy Us" by M.N.Forgy

"LIVE LIKE A SAINT, TRUST LIKE A SINNER"
When's Dani's life is turned upside down due to her mother they both seek protection with her estranged outlaw father "Bull" Dani had never met her father, knew nothing about him so imagine her surprise when she's whisked off to unknown territory.
"THE DEVILS DUST MOTORCYCLE CLUB"
"We need the type of help only an outlaw club like your father belongs to can give."
"I awake as our plane lands and notice a large SUV with two black, slick looking motorcycles parked behind it, one of the guys is leaning against his bike, the other guy is facing away from me, he has black choppy hair, it is shorter on the sides, the back of his leather sleeveless jacket has a skeleton hand crushing a skull on it. It reads "DEVIL'S DUST" above the crushed skull and "CALIFORNIA" under it. He's wearing a white shirt, with blue jeans and black motorcycle boots. He turns and I stop in my tracks. He's stunning, gorgeous even, and he Oozes bad boy, I can see the patch on the front of his vest which reads "SHADOW" I look over at Shadow's vest curious now. Sargent-At-Arms is embroidered on the patch under his name and I notice it has 1% on it. These guys are anything but safe."
The club has been linked to multiple murders, missing person, possible gun running, and the long list doesn't stop there.
"Shadow's past is dark, my past is also negatively affected me. I can be the fire; the light that Shadow needs to come out of the darkness in which he lives."
"She's Heaven and I'm Hell, when we're together angels cry and Hell freezes over."
"I just slept with the devil's daughter.I'm a dead man walking. Messing with the president's daughter does not go without repercussions."
This biker book is one you will not want to miss!! I've read ALOT of biker books and I freaking as all fuck loved this!! Can not wait for book 2!!
I don't even really know what to say without my review coming across like a bitchfest. This was a book that I had trouble getting through. I almost gave up more than once; but because I am a curious person, I have a hard time not finishing a story. Quite frankly, something happened around the 64% mark and I had to keep going!!! The bottom line is that I found the characters all to be extremely bipolar...and I don't mean even from one scene to the next. I am talking about a few sentences to the next. Even when they were having sex, one minute they are being agressive and fierce, then the next sweet and lovey. The hero left a bad taste in my mouth. I found him to be a jerk, and more than once he treated the heroine poorly. What shocked me was after a major scene where he was extremely freaking out with worry for her...he first realizes he loves her...and by the next page he is calling her a bitch. Uh...hello??? You just got her back, and then all of a sudden you are spazzing on her. To top it off, the next day he ignores her for the whole day. I just shook my head. I realize that in MC books, the characters are a lot rougher and the males are major alpha dudes; but never has a hero ever acted like that towards the end of the book and after a major scene. (sorry for being unclear, I just hate giving spoilers!)
One of the other issues I had was that the President of the MC; (who is the heroine's father)he finds out she is sleeping with his seargant of arms and of course he furious and doles out punishment...Then in the next breath he turns to Shadow and tells him to take his daughter to live with him. See what I mean?? BIPOLAR!!! *Sigh*
Anyhoo, that is as far as I am going to go with my crankiness! There is a twist at the end, so of course I am a little intrigued to see where the next book would go. Will I read it?? Probably not.. There are just way too many books on my TBR and I think I gave this one more than a fair chance. There are several readers who have rated this read and future books in the series quite high. So, I hate to make it so people won't read it. I just didn't yell "Woohoo!" about myself. We all have our own tastes etc...so if this is something you may be interested in, then it is possible you will like it. Me...I am just going to move on...♥

FREEBIES are often good for MORE than one day, I have gathered all my FREEBIES on a special shelf: Kindle-freebies (currently over 490 books) https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
Two individuals: broken in nature and products of jaded pasts. Now fighting to claim their own futures, will Dani and Shadow take a chance to forever take hold of their own destinys?
But with danger, secrets, temptation, and sin lurking in the air,
Can they be what sets each other free? Or be the trigger to what destroys them?
“You bring me out of my darkness. When I tried to push you away, I felt the need to do it; helpless and out of control.”
“I look up at him staring at me, needing me to accept him. I love Shadow, even if it comes with a darkness. Who am I to judge, I have dark shadows as well. Who's to say mine aren't as messed up as his.”
My thoughts: Holy crap! I think I'm going to bust an artery with the way the author ended this story!!! Nooo!!! You cannot do this to me!! *cries in a corner*
What Doesn't Destroy Us had everything you expect in a biker book: angst, grit, blood, violence, sex, and even a sprinkle of suspense thrown in the midst.
It definitely kept me on my toes as Shadow and Dani's relationship was basically a taboo in the MC world. Reason being: Dani is the daughter of the President of Devil's Dust MC and whoever touches the “Princess” will have to pay in blood.
But, as well all know, this doesn't stop our two lovers:
“I don't care if my mother finds us, and he doesn't care if my father kills him. We cannot deny the attraction that consumes us, brands us.”
Not to mention, the sh*# storm that Shadow is so ever trying to leave behind him that keeps on managing to catch up to him and bite him in the a$#. Poor guy. Can't catch a break.
“They said I was the kid that lives within his Shadow, no soul, no remorse.”
Now, you may think that's all of it right? You are so wrong!!
Now throw in some evil “slores” and the sinister mommy dearest trying to keep "Shani" apart and you have yourself a hell a roller coaster ride of a story!!
Trust me, M.N. Forgy will keep you guessing and guessing as to what's in store and what's to come next!!
I already can't wait for book 2!!
**And oh, P.S: I'm hoping for a Bobby and Doc pairing!! Pretty please?!**
☆I received an ARC from my email pen pal, M.N. Forgy (the author), in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!!☆
Tough going but loads of drama, so while parts were extremely trying.. others were quite gripping.. then there was the cliff hanger (super duper one at that!) that made me scream!
This book annoyed me so many times I am actually quite impressed with myself that I finished this book. It is a good thing I did because the ending of this book totally had me smiling. I was waiting for this twist the entire book and I can say I NEVER saw it coming in so well done on the ending MN Forgy.
The previous 85% book.....meh. Not much to say. Girl lives with mom the BITCH OF THE CENTURY. Mom gets in trouble with her current life. Mom takes daughter and runs to safety....a bike club that just happens to be her daughter's daddy...that said daughter knows nothing about. Girls falls in love at first sight with club bad boy. Club bad boy falls head over heals for the new girl. They go back and forth, I need you, I want you, I can't have you, you deserve better, I am evil, You are sweet....blah blah so many times. Girl is a virgin......hands her virginity over on the drop of bad boy's pants. Girl gets jealous a lot because bad boy is a player but he loves her.
FINALLY......FINALLY.....something good happens after reading high school drama crossing over to adulthood in a Motorcycle Club badassery form.
But.......I give it to this author because I am reading book 2 because I have to see what happens after the twist of an ending.
It’s a typical MC romance. The sweet butts, the alpha males, the old ladies. But then there’s also one of the most evil mothers I’ve ever read in all my years reading books. EVIL I tell you.
Shadow is a swoony manwhore and Dani is a virgin in many aspects. New to the MC life but finds a way to stand up for herself. There is somewhat cheating, I’ll let you decide.
The story is somewhat clunky, and didn’t flow very well. Ends on a brutal cliffhanger...on to the next one!

DNF at 40%
I tried my best to push through this book, I just didn't connect to the story or the characters. I also felt the plot could have been better. I love the cover it's what pulled me into this story and I also love a good MC book but this just fell flat to me.
4 🌟 I loved this!! I was hooked from the 1st chapter!!!! It's been a while since I've read an MC story so I gave it shot and I am so happy for it!! Last chapter was .......🔥
I can't. I just can't. I honestly swear that I've tried reading the book, but it just made me want to chuck my phone on a rock.
I was expecting a lot from this book considering it has such a high reviews. But nope nope nope nope. My head sounds like a 5 year old is speaking. I can't connect to the main character because Dani is just plain stupid, naive girl.
Shadow has no qualities to him whatsoever. Her mom, she acts like an 8 year old who has tempter tantrums. Bull, there's no words for how stupid he is. Everyone in the club, they all seem like they're at the ages of 5-15.
Seriously. The authors writing is just plain childish that the voices of the characters in my head seems like they are young as in VERY YOUNG of age 5.
I had such high hopes and wad left highly disappointed!
DNF - 21% - I’m not connecting with the characters and don’t understand their “attraction”… they’ve just had sex for the 1st time and he went to “church” with her… *blood* …on his fingers. 🥴😅🤣🤣 I’m also confused cuz he said he “got his dick wet” with a club whore to get the h off his mind… and then he has sex with the h the same night… 🥴🙈🙈😱
I keep saying “what?” And “you do?” I’m just puzzled about the rocket launch of a “relationship” developing here. That’s not a good sign. 🤷🏼♀️ Not for me.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Starting this with a warning: CLIFFHANGER AHEAD I went into this book thinking it was a stand alone so getting to that ending was a simultaneous punch to the gut and throat. Fortunately, I love me some cliffhangers. The wait definitely sucks though. Dani’s world is shaken and rattled by her mom’s abrupt decision to up and leave New York. Covered in blood and in a state of disarray, Sadie tells her daughter they have to leave immediately and seek refuge with Bull’s MC. Dani’s questions about her father are answered on their flight to California and all the missing puzzle pieces of her life begin to set into place.
“I won’t let them hurt you or drag you into their world of hell. You won’t be like them, Dani. You have a future, don’t forget that,” —Sadie
Dani’s thrown into this dangerous and wild world of the Devil’s Dust MC. While she should be panicking or at the very least shaking in her boots, Dani feels oddly at home. Finally out of New York where her mother held the reigns of her life, Dani no longer feels like a fish out of water. Her true nature sets in and she realizes she’s where she’s supposed to be. The drop dead gorgeous biker is just the cherry on top.
“… I know you have Devil’s Dust Blood in you, and I think you know it , too. I saw the ferocious woman in you finally escape tonight; the woman your mother has been scared shitless to let out. You are your father’s daughter, no doubt,” —Shadow
Murder, revenge, secrets and temptation are all swirling around Dani, but Shadow, Sergeant-at-Arms, is like a magnet she can’t seem to keep away from. His name says it all. Shadow has dark secrets that keep him from getting close to the one girl that makes him feel. Not to mention the fact that the MC princess is untouchable... or at least she’s supposed to be.
As they push through their own issues and try to find some semblance of a normal relationship, underlying forces work against them. In the end, the secrets that were kept so hidden aren’t what destroy this couple.
“Thinking on Shadow’s and my stories, I can see why we are so strongly attracted to each other; it makes sense now. We feel the damage in each other, like two wounded animals looking out for each other; for survival.” —Dani
I immediately loathed Dani’s mom, but I wanted to straight drop kick that bitch by the end. I still don’t understand why she has so much hate and resentment; how she could treat her own flesh and blood the way she treated Dani. Sadie is one of the reasons I can’t wait for the next book. I want to see her pay.
I was annoyed by the constant connection between them two. “If Dani is anything like her mother,” was constantly tossed about and it bothered me so much that they were being compared when it was clear as day how different they were. Dani’s distinct personality was brought out instantly and she was constantly proving how unlike her mother she truly was. Blunt. Tenacious. Spunky. Fearless. Dani was a strong heroine and one of my favorites to boot. She was able to hold her own up against everyone and anyone. Even in the most dire and murderous of situations, Dani wasn’t afraid to fight. If she thought she was going down, she wouldn’t go without one.
Shadow’s fighting was of a different nature. He was in a constant battle with his trust issues, dark lust, and forbidden feelings. Slowly but surely Dani began to pull away at his walls and they were each such marvelous moments. Those scenes where Shadow was indecisive about whether to tell Dani everything were times of great vulnerability. A vulnerable Shadow is a rare Shadow. I love this couple fiercely and hope they don’t have to endure too much pain to finally have their happy ending.
Another great feature of Forgy’s writing is her ability to breathe life into every single one of her characters. They all made a name for themselves in their own ways and none felt like they were being added to simply fluff the story. Bobby and Doc are just two of the many supporting characters, but they stood out with their fiery chemistry without taking away from our main characters. Something tells me they’re going to get to share their story someday.
M.N. Forgy is one author you need to watch out for. Her writing is on-the-edge-of-your-seat thrilling and every character manages to get brought to life beautifully. Be sure to add this one to your library and if you fear the cliffhanger, add it anyway and wait for book two’s release. This is one motorcycle romance you don’t want to miss.
“That fire that lives so deep within you, that fire that makes you my Firefly, I’m afraid my darkness will snuff it out; take you under and make you someone different.” His lips brush against mine in confession, his eyes digging deep into mine. “Fireflies can’t live without the dark.” I respond.

4 "Sex on Wheels" Stars!
My first book by M.N. Forgy, this will not be my last.
MC Fans will definitely love this one. I might have to admit that I like biker books more than I thought. There were a few cliche things I didn't care for, but all in all I enjoyed this one. It's been a couple of days and a few books later and I'm still thinking about the story, that alpha-dark-possessive Shadow, and how everything will play out in the next book. There was just enough conflict to keep me glued to the pages, a twist of darkness that I crave, and a forbidden romance that always makes us cheer for an HEA! I have to appreciate the author not using the same 'biker talk' that I always see in other books, it was refreshing to know not all bikers are the same, some can use complete sentences, and not curse every other word. Don't get me wrong I'm as vulgar as any, but I liked the change of pace. I also found Shadow more realistic, it's probably because of what he does for a living, I can't help it. And no I won't spoil. Just know you will get action, steam, and angst. What else do you need. :)
I'll warn you now, there is a cliffhanger but the next book is already released, so keep that in mind.
I didn't realise when I started this that it was part one and a cliffhanger, my fault, I should have checked it does says #1 and normally I'd check the blurb, reviews and next book but I couldn't settle on a book and after dismissing several I stuck with this. I loved the idea behind this, the fact that Bull the President of the Devils Dust MC has a daughter he didn't know about and for the most parts I enjoyed the book. There's so many reviews I'll skip my usual summary and just give my opinion. I loved Shadow, but then who wouldn't he's a hot sexy tortured soul, Dani I have to say really got on my nerves and I couldn't stand her mother. Having said I enjoyed most of this book, which I did parts of it just didn't fit (including the ending) it was a bit OTT but I never saw the ending coming and so despite my issues it's straight onto 'The Scars that Define Us' for me.
Throws 5 stars at this fukker and stomps off for a much needed coffee and ciggy...
What. A. F.U.C.K.I.N.G Ending! I don't know whether to give a standing ovation or start balling cause' now I gotta wait for the next book to find out what freakn' happens! Soooo didn't see that coming... FUCK YEAH!!!
What Doesn't Destroy Us is one of THE BEST Biker/MC books I have read, the Cliffy will most definitely have you pulling your hair out or thowing ur iPad/Kindle/Device accross the room, but well fucking worth the read! ; )
I wanted to DNF this the entire read, but I muddled through to the end. The story was entirely unbelievable, the characters acted like high schoolers. The mother was a total bitch, but she's the only character that at least added a little spark to this dud of a story. For an MC story, the guys in it were awfully tame. Total disappointment.
“They said I was the kid that lives within his Shadow, no soul, no remorse.”
Shadow has only known darkness in his life. At a young age he has been dealing with drugs and violence. With a mother fighting her own addictions, Shadow can only survive by trusting himself. He was prospected into the Devil's Dust MC and is now a brother for life. The MC is the only family he has even known, and he'll fight to keep it that way. Unexpectedly, the Prez's daughter shows up and that when all hell breaks loose.
Dani's lived a tortured life, one controlled by a hateful mother and one without the knowledge and love of a father. One night Dani's life is turned upside down when her mother uproots her and takes her to California to seek the protection of her father and his MC.
"We need the type of help only an outlaw club like your father belongs to can give."
Meeting her father for the first time should be an overwhelming ordeal, however, this is over shadowed when Dani sets eyes on a certain.... blue eyed stranger.
"He's wearing a white shirt, with blue jeans and black motorcycle boots. He turns and I stop in my tracks. He's stunning, gorgeous even, and he Oozes bad boy, I can see the patch on the front of his vest which reads "SHADOW"
There's an instant attraction between Shadow and Dani. An attraction that has them both breaking all the rules.
“I don't care if my mother finds us, and he doesn't care if my father kills him. We cannot deny the attraction that consumes us, brands us.”
"I just slept with the devil's daughter. I'm a dead man walking. Messing with the president's daughter does not go without repercussions."
"She's Heaven and I'm Hell, when we're together angels cry and Hell freezes over."
This was an enjoyable read for a debut novel from this author, I was sorely disappointed with the cliffy however, I understand it all can't be a bed of roses. And I'm actually happy for the cliffy as I thought about it more. As dark as this was portrayed to be, I didn't think it was dark at all. And definitely need to be more rugged. There are some twists in the novel that I liked and it kept the story interesting however, more time needed to be spent on developing more of the back story to make it darker and the bikers rough.
*ARC provided by FMR for an honest review* Thanks!!!
The suspense and twist at the end was good. Love story wise? Meh.. typical. It was insta-lust. They met then few pages they're already making out. Lol. I didn't feel the mind blowing connection between the two.
What really ticked me off is the moment I didn't check the last page of the book I'm reading, that's when it gives me a cliffhanger!
ugh.
Overall its a mediocre MC story. Nothing really special to write off but 95% in the story, that's when it got me on the edge. As I said earlier, the twist was unexpected.
