About Sapiens: A Brief History of Mankind by Yuval Harari

Did you know that, a hundred thousand years ago, there were at least six separate species of human beings on Earth? Today, there is only one—homo sapiens.

Sapiens by Yuval Harari provides an expansive look at the modern world’s view of the ways human beings have evolved and the catalysts behind the species and cultures we’ve become, all the way from the beginning of mankind to the present day and beyond. Harari combines history and science to provide a unique perspective to the traditional narratives of human development and examines what happened to the other five species of humans and what may ultimately happen to us.

interesting read
the good thing that it gives bird eye look to humans as species
some interesting thoughts regarding the imperial era, capitalism and religeon.
the dangerous part is that the author presents his own opinion as historical fact.
so if you are into for some brain exercise where you face the author own views for the whole human history as a fact this book is for you

An excellent excellent excellent book!!! I really liked it. It was thoughtful and interesting. Things I never thought about with humankind’s rise from hunters and gatherers to farmers and villagers to present day. So many topics were discussed throughout the book. I was not bored at all given the scope of the coverage of human history & development.

Incredible! He covers so much in a single book. The history of the world, human evolution, religion, environment, social and political evolution, and more. I think I'll have to read it again to remember all the great sections.

I'm now onto Harari's next book Homo Deus. It's also amazing so far.

5stars are less to describe it's worth. A book which changed my perspective on the whole world. This book can not fit any genre and it is a must for everyone who loves history, science or geography or humankind!
