This is an outdated book, from last century, with a wealth of HTML information. I purchased this book used and was, somehow, mocked by either the seller or the U.S. Postal Service. My book entered the Cleveland, Ohio general mail facility, reshipped out to Pittsburgh post office, and finally returned to Cleveland, Ohio. O_o This book is well-written. Dick Oliver does an excellent job guiding the interactive reader step by step. If you are on a shoestring budget and need to produce a website quickly, purchase this book. Lastly, for updated HTML 5 code, go to the World Wide Web Consortium (https://www.w3.org/).
This is a good beginners text into the world of HTML 4. It will get you up and running with the basics and sets up a foundation for further learning in Web design and coding. For those with a little knowledge of HTML, this book will help you too. Website coding isn't very difficult and the easy to learn lessons in the book show you how it is done.
It's pretty good for those looking for a primer on HTML and a quick introduction to most of its common tags and their usage. The organisation of the chapters is good and the explanations are clear and concise.
I had to do a website as a project for one of my college courses. I did all the research, design, AND created the website with this book, in 24 hours. It works!
