My daily readers are a must for me. This form is more portable for me as opposed to carrying a book with me. It also preserves my anonymity as I choose. Recovery is priority and twelve step work is a daily activity , just by having this form of a daily reader helps me and I would recommend it for everyone in recovery
The beauty of this book is its simplicity. Even on rough days...especially on rough days, it is easy to get back on track with the help offered here. Knowing that it will only take a few minutes makes it easy to pick up and put to use.
This is about developing boundaries and skills how to be true to myself and be emotionally healthy. You don't have to have someone in your life that abuses substances to benefit
I am recommending this book because of the encouragement and Alan on principles presented assist the recovering person, seeking healing, hope, and change, to make important paradigm shifts that many people do not find the courage to do.
If a 'higher power' isn't in your belief system, parts of the book will chafe. However, there are many excellent gems in here to help through your difficult days. I bookmarked and highlighted all over this one.
Everyone should use this daily reader even if alcoholism has not affected a loved one. The daily life wisdom will enhance how you navigate the ups and downs of life. Highly recommended.
This reader was recommended to me by my al-anon group. Each day, as I embraced this new way to behave/react to my addict son, taught me the importance of taking care of self first
This book has helped me change my mood to a more enjoyable life. I have been reading this book for years. It is very helpful to me to detach emotionally, not take responsibility for other peoples problems, and be able to manage my emotions to prevent depression.
I've been in AlAnon 20 years and this is my favorite meditation book. I felt like someone was reading my mind when I bought it the first time in 1996. Highly recommend this to anyone dealing with an alcoholic drinking or sober and especially if you grew up in an alcoholic home. ,
