The Warriors of Ar'mora #1

A Lady's Submission

Rate this book
Last of a clan that once ruled over a vast trade network and determined the fate of empires, Mahlon Arn, has the task of reclaiming a place once lost and now hidden within the jungled corridors of a tributary river that feeds into the mighty Amazon River. It’s a past that almost no one remembers except for the few who dare to return and once more reclaim all that once was and begin to build what is to become. Journey deep into the jungle and follow the story of a warrior who reclaims a kingdom, only to ache for the completion of a prophecy spoken over him by a dying father. A prophecy that comes in the form of a red haired fantasy lady, who is born up the river by chance and circumstance or perhaps by Divine will, and that must be claimed and utterly brought into submission by the man, who has been tasked to not only reclaim a past but to build a future based on righteousness. A Lady’s Submission is the beginning of a five book journey into the exotic realms of a place that has never been spoken of and is now just beginning to be realized through the lives of the five remaining blood heirs of the House of Arn, of the kindred of people known to the ancient world as the Ar’morians. This is a tale of overcoming faith and erotic conquest. A reality of an ancient place comes alive in this tale of Christian Erotic Themed Fantasy Fiction. She had a sweet musky scent about her that threatened to drive me mad! I had to get her behind closed doors before I made a fool of myself in public! I was so close to pulling her around and pressing my face into the slight exposed outline of the valley between her breasts. She smelled so good it was hard to even think let alone make small talk. She was saying something and I fought hard to concentrate on her words, “Your brother gave me a letter to give to you. He said he hopes to be here by this time next month, but that Francesca has chosen to travel to France to spend time with her mother’s family that still lives there.” My passion to have this woman dimmed for a moment as the enormity of Francesca’s unwise decision reverberated off my senses. The woman beside me seemed to sense my displeasure and quickly said, “She’s young and I fear that she doesn’t make the decisions that she should, but I want you to know that both your brother and I prayed about it and we felt that we were to let her go to France. You see I’ve been her teacher and caretaker for the last seven years. Your brother is seeing her safely to France or else he would of been able to accompany me here.” I nodded doing my best to tamp down my displeasure as to the actions of my sister. We had made it to the walls of the palace compound and even now we traveled along the cobblestoned street to the living quarters that I had opulently built for myself and for my brothers and sister. “So, you are a woman of faith, I take it?” I queried softly with interest. “Yes, I am. Are you?” “A woman of faith, no, decidedly not.” I quickly re-turned. She laughed and I was instantly taken in by the sound of its music. Everything about her was amazing. I wanted it all! I wanted everything and not just her body. And immediately along that avenue of thought I immediately began to think of a way that I could provoke her to laugh again. I was on the verge of trying to do so, when I took in the level of surprise on her face as she was presented with the opening courtyard of my home. I had spared no effort in ensuring that the reclamation of the palace living quarters be completed in the full grandeur of the past. I could well imagine how breathtaking it must be to her for it was beautiful to me as well.

I received a copy of this book directly from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.

You know that phrase “I can’t even.”, that’s how I feel about this book. I didn’t get past the first sentence before I realized this was going to be a very difficult read.

The wind whipped viciously back and forth across the land ever strengthened by the rising tempest of the ocean and beat against the rocks of the foundation of the last of the Sea People’s fortresses.

This pretty much summed up the entirety of what I read from that point forward (and I didn’t make it far). The writing was excruciatingly verbose and complicated in structure to the point of being clunky and muddled. Run on sentences, a formal tone with a lack of punctuation, and strange word choices made me cringe. The story didn’t flow, and the dialogue was easily just as formal and unnatural sounding as the narrative.

I thought him beyond speech as he lay staring up into my eyes with all the love of a father that I had yearned to watch grow old and enjoy playing with the offspring of my loins.

I pushed, really pushed to get past the first chapter of this story several times, and finally, I decided the book wasn’t for me. The writing –maybe- would have held up in a high fantasy, but as a historical erotica, it was just… poorly written, and needlessly complicated… and I don’t think it should be a chore to read a book. I couldn’t get past the language to enjoy the characters or the plot, and it was frustrating and tedious. Eventually, I gave up and declared this a DNF.

There may be someone out there that enjoys this kind of writing… but for an erotica novel, where the sex is basically the entire reason for reading the book… the language of the narrative and characters just wasn’t appropriate, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

It is up to Mahlon and his siblings to rebuild a lost nation, and in this first installment, as the eldest, Mahlon takes the lead. His promises to his father and to God are not just simple words, but a pledge he will not break. Where the combination of Christianity and erotica may leave some readers uncomfortable, it is the speed at which he and Anna unite I find more unbelievable. In my opinion, it does not give the story the credibility it deserves.

Anna and Mahlon

Really liked Anna and her development into a woman. Mahlon seemed a little too knowledgeable for a “first-timer” no matter what the other men might have told him and how excited he was time finally have the two flesh become one.
Second virginity...hmm maybe if both the woman and man agree and not just because he wants it and she can do the same to him since Adam and Eve were equal in the garden. More discussion and a well informed conversation, especially health implications and potential damage should take place with the couple.
Looking forward to the next story with this family.

~~~~~~~~~~Julie's ★★★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
After the death of their father, the Sea People were down to five. Mahlon, Sean and Tyree went to Ar'mora while Torin and Francesca went to America.
Anna was a widow of a man that had left her his gambling debt. She paid the payment like clockwork to the towns mayor. He was a nasty man that always wanted to use her body because of the debt. On this particular payment day, he insisted that she undress for his use or he would ruin her name and make her available for other men to use as they saw fit. She was devastated. She went to her employer to discuss this matter and he ended up wanting to pay the debt off and offered her marriage to his brother Mahlon. She desperately wanted a way out of town and this seemed to be just the right move. They love Torin spoke of his brother, the more she knew he was just what she needed. Torin left only one small detail out of their conversation. She needed to be a virgin.
Her voyage was taken care of and when she arrived Mahlon was everything she knew he would be.
When he found out she wasn't a virgin, he sent her to his chamber so he could decide what to do.
Anna had great faith in her God and she sought him for guidance with her new husband. Mahlon finally returned and his decision was rational. She was his wife and he would take her forcefully.
She understood and submitted to him.
Anna and Mahlon had a love that was rash and gritty. He took her in every way possible and their love bloomed.
Their faith in God and their marriage was very fulfilling.
When Anna learned that an attack of their village was imminent she cried out to God for salvation and mercy. They lost several in the battle but they gained a faith that was unstoppable.
Mahlon and Anna found their life that they had always wanted and it was full of blessing from God.
The first chapter was awesome. It was definitely written to draw the reader into the story; it was so emotional, we HAVE to read more to learn about this family. It then picks up ten years later from the point of view of someone new. Later, the characters are brought together is the most unexpected and phenomenal way. This part of the book was awesome.
As you read on, you quickly discover the book certainly fits the title; “submission” is experienced at its fullest. Though Anna, the main character, is very submissive; she is also a strong woman, and I MUST include, her strength comes from her faith in Christ. I love that aspect of the story. It’s not very often; I find a book that will share a Christian woman’s life as a REAL woman, not a prune. Yes, there’s a shocker; being a woman of Faith doesn’t mean we don’t have sex. We just keep it in our marriage.
I really loved this book, but there were a FEW things in the book that had me rereading the section and asking; WHAT was that? First of all; the part where her brother in law comments on her sexiness, this contributed nothing to the story and could have been left out.  Second and this was big WHAT? When Anna quoted Leviticus 18:22, in the middle of sex, she was made to seem extremely naïve. She used this verse in comparison to anal sex? Really? This just goes to prove how “verse pulling” will never allow the reader to fully comprehend the true intention of why it was written. Ironically, this is the same verse several “Self-proclaimed Christians” pull to angrily protest equal rights. Please read the entire Bible before pulling ANY single verse. Sorry, I had to include that.
With all this being said, I still loved A Lady’s Submission and feel it deserves a strong 4 Boundless star rating....Beth
1687, Ireland. The children’s father had just died. Now they were left to fend for themselves.
Mahlon (19, narrator, brother), Sean (brother), Torin (brother), Francesca (12, sister), & Tyree (10, brother) would go their separate ways.
Mahlon would end up at Ar’mora (Arn, America).
There he would meet Anna McLean (widow), & the 2 would get married & have hot/steamy any which way but loose sex.
He also meets Ofunai (Portuguese headhunter).
Will his brothers/sister be reunited with him?
Warning: This book contains extremely graphic adult content, violence, or expletive language &/or uncensored sexually explicit material which is only suitable for mature readers. It may be offensive to some readers.
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written Christian Erotica fantasy book. It wasn’t always very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish, but never a dull moment.
There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great Christian Erotica fantasy movie, or a paid-per-view mini TV series. To be continued. Didn’t know you could bring the Bible into this, Quite unique. Not sure I got the whole story content even reading it to the end so I will rate it at 4/5 stars.
Thank you for the free Goodreads; Making Connections; Christian Erotic Press; Author; PDF book
Firstly, I want to start by saying that this book had a lot of promise. The blurb really intrigued me, which is why I read it, however, as soon as I started reading I realized that this wasn't going to be my type of book because of the way it was written. I personal found the writing quite clumsy and often found myself having to go back and re-read sentances, just because they were so long. A good proof read and some commas would probably sort that though.
I also found that I never really felt invested in the characters, which was probably because most of the time the hero and heroine were together, they were having sex. They never really talked, or got to know each other, so as a reader we never got to know them either. Don't get me wrong, I love a good erotic novel as much as the next person, but I felt that all the sex just interefered with the plot and character development. For example, there's a fight scene at the end which grabbed my interest because I thought it was suddenly going to get good, but then they went back to having sex when I personally would have liked to have found out more about the settlement in the aftermath of the attack.
All in all, this book had promise, but unfortunately failed to follow through. :-(
I was able to get this free on Smashwords and I'm not sure on how to go about my review. This is the first I've read in this genre, which is Christian Erotica and I was really confused.
To break it down, I'm not sure of the timeframe and setting. It's not everyday I read a story from a man's point of view and it's really different with that of a woman's. The erotica portion is direct to the point. When they want it, they'll do it, and there's Mahlon's desire for anal sex but at least he wasn't an animal about it.
There's also an ongoing war between the Portuguese and Arn that has been resolved. I just wondered if there are part of Ireland that is tropical because that's the current climate here. I'm not familiar with the country, all I know is it's cold there.
There were a few grammatical errors in the use of "your", which should be "you're", "their" which should be "they're", and "navel" instead of "naval". Those are only the most notable ones I observed. This is a short story and was fast-paced and I honestly don't know what to make of it. I have to admit I liked the erotica part but other than that, I'm neutral.
Two stars is generous but I saw glimpses of what could be a good read. This book needs an editor badly. One minute the author tries overly hard to make the wording "historically accurate"- or at least what the author deems accurate. Usually it just means confusing. Then the next minute he uses words like "a lot", "gosh", "wow", and other modern slang. The female lead even calls the hero a "stud". Another reviewer on Amazon commented about the author using words that really don't exist or using a word that sounds similar but has completely different meaning. I also found this distracting- some examples are "strengthful", except instead of accept, "injusticeness", "ease dropping". Very rarely do I not finish a book, especially if I'm going to review it. I want to give the author the full benefit of the doubt that it might get better. Unfortunately with this book I could only make it through 60%. At 10% I was confused and strongly tempted to just give it up but I kept reading thinking maybe it was just a slow start. I didn't find the sex scenes to be hot or even interesting. My suggestion to the author is to pull the book and spend some time getting this book fully edited.
This book was fairly well written. It captured and help my interest. It is very unusual for me to continue to enjoy a book that uses Cum incorrectly. Typically that is a sign that the writing will be bad. Cum is a Noun. A noun can not show action. So...I'm going to cum is the same as saying I'm going to Henry, or I'm going to house. The correct spelling is come. I'm going to come. The only time cum should be used is if expressing and object. Example: My cum is running down her leg. Cum is an object, it is not an action.
That being said the author used cum incorrectly. But the book was still interesting.
Well...
This book was sex on a freaking stick
So much so that in made me uncomfortable in my own clothes (I can give an erotica no higher praise)
HOWEVER
There were points where I literally had to omit words from sentences just so they could BE sentences (they made no SENSE whatsoever) and the poor author seems to not have mastered the differences between there, their and they're which is writer 101.
For this I must sadly subtract points from an otherwise stellar experience!!!!
A Journey into submission
It's not your typical erotic submission story. This is about prophecy, bloodlines and a kingdom. The "red-haired" fantasy lady places a part in the journey. I thought it was an interesting read, and I enjoy a good submission and erotic book, if it's told right. This was a unique form and I did enjoy the story, but some parts were a little hard to follow.
