The topic of this book is girlfriend of convenience. To clean up his image, Bennet proposition Grace to be his goody two shoes girlfriend. It starts with a friendship and yes it build up to romance. I am not a stranger to relationship of convenience. I even like some of my romance with this topic. So the blurp and the story is very promising. Very promising even though I never read from this author before.

What is lacking on this book is the character chemistry. The chemistry between Bennet and Grace is flat and forced. I mean, it take Grace no time to agree to Bennet's proposition without thinking about it. And in exchange of a lesson on how to be a dirty girl in dating. The plots are bit out of place. I feel like eating food that is just keep piling without really enjoying it.

The middle of the book is lack of focus and dragging on.

Overall I can appreciate the story idea but needs a better execution. Despite of that I still enjoy the book OK.

Well - the first like 88% of this book was fairly good. I enjoyed seeing Bennet and Grace go from fake to real and falling for each other. But then the book got so bad I genuinely thought about giving up at 88% - seriously - and I find it hard to not finish a book no matter how bad it is. But my goodness, I wanted to face palm - a LOT. Warning - spoilers ahead. So, Grace and Bennett fall for each other and they say over and over how they totally trust each other. Then, even though Grace has been with Bennet through his coach faking his steroids test and listening to everything he has put Bennett through and saying she believes him, all of a sudden this story comes out against Bennett and she believes all the allegations against him. I HATE when female heroines do this. It just makes me think, well, he's better off without her. Because the one time he really needs her to stand up for him and with him and she all of a sudden believes all these super awful things about him even though she claimed early on she knew the real Bennett. Then everything happens at rapid speed within 8% of the end of the book - all the plot lines with the coach suddenly wrap up nice and easily and Bennett takes Grace back with no questions even though she totally abandoned him. Oh, and how is it okay that Bennett and the captain of his team attend a press conference and curse through the whole thing - Bennett even drops the F-bomb. Realistic that is not.

So, Spoilers are over and I will say this - the last 10% of this book totally ruined the rest of it. But the first 90% of the book is the sole reason this is two stars and not one. I wouldn't waste my time if you're looking for a really good romance with a couple you want to root for in the end.

That wasn't half bad. I don't want that to sound like a bad thing. I just didn't expect much seeing as I got this free over a year ago and it sat on my Kindle just waiting for me to give it a try. I've never read anything by Micalea, so I wasn't really invested. So I was pleasantly surprised when this turned out to be pretty cute. A little angsty, a little OTT, but overall, I really liked it! If you love sports romance and are looking for something different, give this one a shot.

I seem to keep reading parts of a series not realizing it was glad this worked as standalone. Basically the blurb caught my attention and sounded like my kind of book. Back to back sports related hero for me, Bennett is one those hockey players controversial, bad boy, parties a lot and player off the ice. Seems he has reached a new low with a clear need to fix his image and a bad injury, time off is the best solution.

Grace all around good girl, stylish, clean cut, first impression of her would be stuck up and prissy. Actually for me I think she's actually just fine she knows who she is and one of those people when you get to know is pretty cool. To a girl who doesn't know hockey Bennett is an unknown it's refreshing Grace calls his s**t out and constantly doesn't let him get away with stuff. Any lover of Sour Patch Kids is great with me honestly though Bennett won me over eventually. He can win people by being charming and suave just not with Grace and that's cute.

The challenges Bennett faced are not the usual but since it had to do with enhancing drugs it's a hot topic. I'd say he tackled that well and they got through it fine. I have to go back to other books since some characters are in this one. But I liked the writing and characters curious to see if there will be more.

I always, always look forward to Micalea’s books. I love her characters, her writing and the storylines that she creates. I could not wait for this book and I can say that Ms. Smetzler did not disappoint. This may be one of my favorite books by her in this series. What I loved about it is that this one felt a little different than the others which it what made it one even better.

Grace Wentworth is off to college. She hopes by going away that she can find her inner bad girl. She has always been the good girl and wants to prove that she is more than that. She wants to prove that she can be bad and party with the rest of them in college. Her first day includes meeting a hot guy whom she should not trust by any means at all but yet for some reason she does, to meeting her roommate who based on first impressions is not someone she is likely not going to be friends with, to going to a frat party only to have to save said roommate from something terrible happening to her. Her first day on her own was definitely a crazy one. The guy who she trusted on the first day of meeting him seems to keep popping up, in her mind and in person. Turns out not only is he hot but he is a professional hockey player who is currently working with his college coach in hopes of saving his career.

Bennett is a hockey player and a dam good one. But over the last few years his career and fame have may have gone to his head. He has had some issues with the media and is known as a player. Pictures of him out drinking, or with different woman all the time have caused him to get a bad rep, and it may be one that he deserves. When he injures himself off the ice he knows that now is the time to get his career back on track. He has gone back to his old college where his old coach has agreed to work with him and get him back on the ice again. But Bennett needs to also work on his image and his bad habits. He knows he needs to stay away from the puck bunnies, the one night stands, and the alcohol. Hockey is his life and he will do whatever it takes to get back out there. But there was one thing that he never counted on and that was Grace Wentworth.

Grace has consumed his mind. She is nothing like the girls that he has been with. There is just something about her and her beauty that has captured him. He knows that his first priority is hockey but he also knows that she is the perfect person to help him. He makes her an offer and while she accepts she has her own offer as well, because she needs him just as much as he needs her. They start out as friends but as time goes on will they become more?

There are so many reasons why I loved this book. The first being Bennett. Yes he was your typical hockey star who was a complete player, who let his fame go to his head and changed him in a way that affected his career. But deep down I honestly did not see him as that guy at all and I think Bennett needed to be the person that he was before he became famous. The person that I saw when he was with Grace, was caring and very protective when it came to her. He had a really cute and flirtateous way about him which I loved. He loved to push Grace's buttons which he knew how to do very well. He was an amazing guy who wanted to be back on the ice where he belonged. But he also wanted to be the person he was before the fame. He wanted to be better. But he also has his own secret, one that could either destroy him further or save him.

Grace is the good girl, the one who always follows the rules. If you have read the Trace & Olivia series this is Trace's daughter. For one I loved the relationship that she had with her parents. It was so great to see Trace and Olivia with their daughter. To be there to protect her and to see the closeness between her and her mom. While she may have looked like a spoiled rich girl who was too good, she was far from that. And I think she wanted to get away from that image. She wanted to be the bad girl whether she had it in her or not. She was just a really sweet, caring and awesome girl and I loved her.

What I really loved about this book was the friendship between Grace and Bennett. Yes they were friends first and it was such a beautiful, fun and loving relationship. You could tell there was more between them brewing and I could not wait for that moment when it all finally came together. They flirted with each other, they were there for each other and they just has this amazing connection.

They had some obstacles in their way when it came to their relationship but they fought through them. There was a moment towards the end where I felt like Bennett was a little too forgiving in a way. I can't go into detail but I wanted a little more where the conflict of the story was resolved. Other than that one small issue I absolutely adored this book. I wanted to see Bennet and Grace get their happily ever after together. I wanted them to see that they were so good together and could be more than just friends. I felt that connection that they had. They are just one of those couples that make you smile whenever they are together. Once again Micalea Smetzler has made me fall in love. Not only with the characters but with the story and her words as well. This book was fun, witty, with just the right amount of drama and in a way a little bit of suspense as well. Well done!!

“Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with Grace. I fell in love with her smile. Her laugh. The ways she mocks me every chance she gets. I fell in love with her love of chocolate and coffee. I fell in love with every little thing that makes her her. Six months ago, the thought of falling in love would’ve made me laugh, but something I’ve learned in my life is that things never seem to happen the way you expect them.”

“This is us. We smile. We laugh. We fight. We make up. But most importantly we always love. Because love…it’s everything.”

As a fan of The Us Series, I am always dying to read more. I wait in anticipation for the next book to release and with each new book that is written in this series, I am continuously floored. Micalea Smeltzer isn’t just writing a book. No, it is so much more than that. She is giving you a story that will completely consume you. You will find yourself so caught up in the characters and in their story, that it doesn’t feel like you’re reading a book. No, it feels as though you are right alongside these characters, living the story with them..

The Game That Breaks Us is third book in The Us Series, but it can totally be read as a stand-alone. This book is told from dual points of view and follows the story of Grace and Bennett. When we first meet Bennett, he appears to be the typical bad boy hockey player with a just as bad reputation. Hockey is his life, but even hockey can’t change the things that are happening in his life. Bennett is in for the fight of his life. He’s got to get back in the game and changing the public’s perception of him wouldn’t be too bad either…However the last thing he wanted, needed or planned on was Grace. He was drawn to Grace the first time that he met her and had no clue just how much she was about to change his life….Grace has always been the good girl. On the outside, she appears to have it all: money, clothes, good looks. But, there’s more to her than meets the eye. Grace is smart and tougher than she looks. She’s quiet, but isn’t afraid to stand up for those she cares about. The only problem….Grace is tired of doing what is expected. So, when Bennett comes to Grace for help with his reputation, she agrees to help him, as long as he’ll help her…Only the more time these two spend together, lines will become blurry. What’s real and what isn’t, is not so clear anymore. Will these two figure out what is so blindingly obvious to everyone else? Will Bennett and Grace get the HEA they both want?

The Game That Breaks Us is a fantastic read; from start to finish. It is exactly what I want when I’m looking for a friends to lovers/fake relationship romance. Watching Bennett and Grace navigate their way through their rather unconventional relationship reminded me of exactly why I love this troupe. The connection between Grace and Bennett is so real, so palpable that you could almost reach out and touch it. They were the perfect match. Bennett needed someone who was strong; someone who could handle the media and all the rumors. And Grace needed someone to see HER. She needed someone to see beyond the money and her good behavior. She needed someone who wouldn’t be afraid of her overprotective family. They both needed someone who was willing to take a risk. And I just loved every second of watching them fall.

The Game That Breaks Us was everything that I wanted it to be and then some. It is well written and very easy to get lost in. I had no problem reading this book in one sitting. This story was fun and entertaining. The characters just begged for me to get to know them more. Grace and Bennett’s story had the perfect amount of angst, drama, romance, and of course you can’t forget about the few twists thrown in along the way.

Micalea Smeltzer has once again knocked it out of the park with another spellbinding read and I can not wait to see what story she has in store for us next!

I was so happy when I received an ARC of this book from this author! I'm a huge fan of this author's books and I loved the other books in this series a lot, so I couldn't wait to read this book! It sounded amazing and I adore the cover! I started this book as soon as I received my ARC and it only took me a few sittings to read! I was reading it every free moment I had because I was completely immersed in the characters story! The plot was also amazing! It developed at the perfect pace and the romance in it leaked off the pages! I just couldn't get enough of it! There were a few seriously hot scenes in the plot too and I really liked that the characters actually got to know each other before starting a proper relationship! It told me a lot about the kind of people the characters were and I loved that they didn't just jump into a relationship! There also wasn't lots, if any, action and suspense in the plot, but the romance was definitely enough to keep me hooked! Overall, I just loved the plot and I loved everything about it! The characters were also amazing and made this book for me! Bennett was the main male character, and he was a guy that knew that he was hot, and he played on it! He was a bit cocky and a womaniser at the beginning of this book, but he wasn't like this as the plot and his relationship with his love interest, Grace, progressed! He became such a genuinely nice guy and you could see that he had developed deep feelings for Grace! Bennett was also seriously hot and he was such a sweet guy at times and loved winding Grace up! I loved how protective he was of Grace too! He was fiercely protective of her and it was easy to see! Grace was the main female character and love interest of Bennett! Grace was such a sweet character in this book, but she also became more fiery and confident as the plot progressed! Grace was also someone who never strayed from the rules and always tried to do the right thing, but she wanted to step outside her comfort zone and become 'bad', which is where Bennett came in! He showed Grace how to live on the wild side and how to let herself go and have some fun! I just loved Grace in this book and I loved how she kept Bennett in check and didn't take any crap from him! She grew a lot in this book too! I also loved that this book was written from both Bennett and Grace's point of views! It was expecting it to be, so I'm really happy it was! It made the plot even better and allowed for more things to happen in it! It also helped me connect more with the two main characters too! I also can't wait to read the next book in this series! I mean, I hope there's going to be another book, but I'm not 100% sure if there is going to be! I know it'll be a standalone book if there is another book, so I'm excited to read the next book if there is one! The cover for this book is absolutely stunning! I loved it as soon as I saw it and the models on the front are the perfect Bennett and Grace! I can't believe how perfect the models are for the characters! Big thank you to Micalea for an ARC of The Game That Breaks Us!

I just adore Micalea's beautifully written stories. Imagine my excitement when I was given the chance to review an ARC. I was ecstatic because I knew it would be good. I was more than right, it was amazing. This is a wonderful 5 star story.

ARC of The Game That Breaks Us by Micalea Smeltzer provided in exchange for an honest and spoiler free review.

While I was reading it I never caught on that Grace is Dean's sister. Their parents are friends with the Willow Creek band members. So I guess I can safely say it's a complete standalone. Grace embraces a new adventure by going to college. A chance meeting puts her in the path of Bennett an hockey player. They will form an alliance that will soon start to feel more real. This is their story.

This story as so many different facets to it, it's humorous, sweet, romantic, sad at times and it also as an hint of suspense. Micalea has the ability to create stories that suck me right in, manages to keep me there throughout even after being done reading. It's a refreshing story about the good girl who meets the bad boy. After starting reading it , I just couldn't seam to want to put it down for very long.

The author has created wonderful, funny, engaging and loving characters that made them impossible to ignore. The story was fun, entertaining, and addicting that kept my undivided attention focused on this book. The characters had connection and chemistry.

This is not an overly sappy, sad full of angst kind of story. It's the kind that the readers will enjoy the back and forth between Grace and Bennett. The comebacks that Micalea comes up with, are just great. Bottom line I just loved everything about this amazing story.

Standalone told in a dual POV with a HEA. I've been reading Micalea's book for a while now, even when I think it can't happen, they just plain get better from already being the best. I strongly recommend reading this story. Do check out her other titles also they are worth it, trust me.

Reading this book is, for the most part, really easy. The characters are funny and Bennet and Grace are really cute together, for the most part... The trouble with this book is, at the end, it got really bad, really fast. I was even rooting for them not to be together, that is how bad it turned out to be.
Aristotle wrote a really famous book talking, especially, about theater. In it, he said that every play needed to have a conflict that should be resolved by the end of the story, otherwise the story would be boring and not appealing to the public.
He was talking about theater many years before Christ, but that premise is still true about novels nowadays. The trouble with this novel (and there will be some spoilers ahead!) is that she really didn't need to have a conflict in the couple's relationship, there was already a problem to be solved with Bennet's coach. Getting Grace, a character that professed her trust in Bennet multiple times and didn't even blink when he was accused of being on steroids, to promptly believe that he raped a girl is simply not believable. It just just doesn't make sense if you look at her attitudes prior to that.
The ending of the book also makes me question if we really have to be right all the time. Grace left Bennet when he most needed her, and yet the first thing he wants to do when he clears his name is apologize to her! He didn't do anything wrong, on the contrary, but he still needs to apologize! It doesn't make any sense. It's like there is this formula that has to be followed in all romance novels (even when it doesn't work), where the hero needs to do something to mess things up, then they break up, the heroine is crushed and it ends when the male character apologizes and makes everything better.
It's sad to say this, because 80-90% of the book was really enjoyable, but the ending just feels rushed and mechanic.

This is a 2:5 star one for me!
The writing is solid, if you've read this Author before you'll understand it isn't that, that I have a problem with. The main H stumbled across a secret, and ever since his boss has had it out for him. He even goes so far as to tamper with a drug test so everyone thinks the H is taking steroids. But the h says that she knows him and trusts him and that she knows it's all a lie, so when the H is accused of raping the boss' daughter I thought the h would stand by her man.......but no she dropped him like a hot potato!
Kept going on about all the evidence being against him (errr there was none that I read about, just the boss' report to the police.....you know that man that's been out to get your fella from the start) Now I now I may seem alittle harsh (any accusations shouldn't be taken lightly but...this is a book, my escape from reality and the h just totally fucked off the man she loves and trusts) the H did everything right and she still didn't believe him until it was proved by H and his sister that it was a false allegation. And he just took her back no questions asked he even apologies for putting her through that (wtf) and then she's sprouting on about knowing him so well again, after believing he was a rapist for over a month. It's just as well the twist was 90% in because if it was any earlier I would of DNF'd this!

4.5 Stars - The Game that Breaks Us is another fantastic Us Series novel from Micalea Smeltzer. Bennett and Grace’s story exemplifies the new adult genre, transporting readers to Grace’s college campus and highlighting the trials and triumphs of stepping out on your own for the first time. These two were enchanting right from the start, effortlessly reeling me into their world of unavoidable fame, unexpected feelings, and sour patch kids. Where Bennett was wild, Grace was tame and together they made the perfect match. Their instant spark grew with each passing page until their undeniable connection had me absolutely hooked on their happily ever after.

Micalea Smeltzer has a talent for writing memorable characters that are both out of reach enough to be utterly intriguing and genuine enough to be relatable. Grace and Bennett were certainly no exception, each of them charming me instantly and making me feel deeply as they grew in different ways over the course of this story. Bennett was a fun character to unravel. I quickly fell for the bad boy who turned out to be pretty darn sweet and a whole lot sexy. His relationship with his family and the rediscovery of his love of hockey served to further expose the normal guy beneath the limelight and it was that authentic, lovable man that I swooned over.

Grace was equal parts the girl next door and the unattainable product of famous parents, a dichotomy that was fascinating to explore. Just as Grace brought Bennett back down to earth, Bennett helped Grace to let go. I absolutely adored seeing Grace experience life, make mistakes, and go a little crazy. Grace’s roommate Elle provided a sharp contrast to Grace’s soft demeanor but Elle made her bold and sure and brave in a deeply satisfying way. Grace’s insecurities and surprising vulnerability made her that much more genuine and by the end of the novel she was someone entirely tangible.

While the fake relationship storyline isn’t anything new, Micalea Smeltzer infuses so much of her own style into this story that it felt fun and fresh. Micalea’s own brand of drama ensured a few surprise turns that not only kept me reading but also gave Bennett and Grace’s journey an added depth. Filled with a great cast of secondary characters, Micalea Smeltzer brings her fictional world to life with the easy dialogue, socially relevant humor, and a whole lot of feeling. The Game that Breaks Us left me with all of the familiar, warm and fuzzy feelings that inevitably have me wanting more. Well paced, wonderfully written, and absolutely sparkling, Micalea Smeltzer has another hit on her hands with The Game that Breaks Us.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed reading the third installment in the Us series. I wasn’t a huge fan of the first two books, but The Game That Breaks Us has by far been my favorite one yet.

I really enjoyed reading Grace and Bennett’s story, and thought they were amazing main characters. I liked their personalities and chemistry together, and how their relationship slowly progressed from friends to something more meaningful. I loved that the book was told from both Grace and Bennett’s alternating POV, and how hockey was incorporated into the story as well. I always enjoy a good sports romance, and this one definitely fit the bill. It had just the right amount of humor, romance, and hockey to make it entertaining to read. I loved Micalea Smeltzer’s writing style, and how she told Grace and Bennett’s story. The previous two books in the series were written in first person/past tense, while The Game That Breaks Us was written in first person/present tense. I enjoyed this style of writing much better and thought Micalea did an excellent job with every aspect of the story.

Many of the secondary characters were wonderful as well, and I loved getting to see a lot of familiar faces from past books by the author. There were certain parts of the book that I didn’t care for, but overall it was an amazing read and I’m extremely glad I didn’t give up on this series.

I was also thankful the conflict wasn’t too terribly long, but I did find it a little unrealistic that Grace believed it so easily. I was very happy with the ending, however I had hoped the epilogue would have gone farther into the future. But I have a feeling there will be more books in the Us series, and I will definitely be looking forward to reading them if there are!

A solid 4 star read for me!! This is the first book that I've read by Micalea Smeltzer and I can't wait to read more by her. The characters are well developed and pulls you in. I didn't want to put it down until I finished it. The only reason it wasn't a 5 star read was some things felt rushed to me and that there was something missing but that is only just me and my opinion. I do recommend this book and I want to read the other books in this series and that might fill in some of the things I was missing if so I will update if the case.
Hockey's bad boy Bennett James has built his career and his reputation at the same time. And he needs to fix both before he loses everything. A chance encounter with Grace Wentworth might be the key to his salvation. She's a good girl trying to get out of underneath her families overprotectiveness. But she tired of being classed as the goody two shoe's so her and Bennett strike a deal. But what happens when fake becomes real? I definitely recommend this book!!!

As far as sports romances go, this was pretty tame, but it was good.

It started out pretty great. A chance encounter with the heroine not recognizing the well known professional hockey player. Then they ended up being friends- and the pretending began.

I also liked that this book didn't concentrate much on the age aspect, since the girl was a freshman in college after all. I loved the fact that the heroine was not a push over and that she can hold her own if needed, hence making this a really fun read.

The thing I didn't like was the ending though. It could have gone better, the hero could have made the heroine sweat more. LOL

But anyway, it was really good, albeit tame. :)

First off, I need to read the first two books in this series. It's not something you HAVE to do, but due to reading this one, I want to read them. Secondly, I'm pretty enamored with these characters. I loved them, hands down, just loved them.

I may have a full review up at some point, outside of that, we're just sticking with I LOVED IT!

Overall Opinion: Grace and Bennett were just adorable.

What I Liked:
The characters. I really enjoyed Grace, Bennett, and all the side characters in the book. Grace was a relatable character, despite being rich, and her college/homework struggles was the probably the most relatable thing. Bennett was a fun, sweet love interest. I'm glad that Grace has good relationships with her friends and family, as well as Bennett with his sister.
The romance. I don't usually like the fake relationship turned real romance trope, but I liked how well Grace and Bennett got along. The romance was a slower burn that was sweet nonetheless.

What I Didn't Like:
The pacing. I found the pacing in the beginning a little slow for my liking, but overall wasn't bad. The time jump of a month made me want to know what happened between Grace and Bennett, but I think the time jump helped with the pacing a little.

Recommend: This might be my favorite of the series, but I'm not sure yet. A 4/5 stars book.

This is the first book I had read written by this author and this book is good. I mean there was a mystery and a lesson we can learn also this book is a slow burn romance type and I loved it like the way of describing her butterflies on her stomach etc.. the best part is that when he realizes that he fell in love with her and why here:
《“Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with Grace. I fell in love with her smile. Her laugh. The ways she mocks me every chance she gets. I fell in love with her love of chocolate and coffee. I fell in love with every little thing that makes her her. Six months ago, the thought of falling in love would’ve made me laugh, but something I’ve learned in my life is that things never seem to happen the way you expect them.”》

Damn now my standard of boyfriends has reached another level high . If I keep on reading books like this I might not get a boyfriend but when I can have many fictional boyfriends in my Imagination then why do I need a boyfriend duh! And I really enjoyed my time reading this book. _XOXO_

Don’t get me wrong, the book was really entertaining and I finished in less than 24 hours, but the ending was bad.

I love the fake dating trope so this was right up my alley. Grace and Bennet formed the cutest couple (very opposites attract) and I found their meet cute very sweet.

Up until the last 20% of the book I absolutely loved it. The progression of their relationship felt real and the way they dealt with issues together was entertaining. I loved their banter and how they made each other go out of their comfort zones and improve as people.

Now to my issue, I honestly can’t tell you how a conflict happens so fast and is resolved even quicker, especially in the magnitude that the author wrote. In no way in real life the solution presented would actually solve something and the main character’s issue would be forgiven and forgotten.

There was absolutely no pining and no actual apology between the couple and all was resolved in a span of 2 minutes after they saw each other.

Long story short, I loved the book until it annoyed me.

The book was nice. I liked the plot and everything, but there were a few scenes where I just cringed out and had to take a moment. There was some stuff I wished was different with the plot. If the book was written now it would be better probably, less cringy. But the cutesy scenes were everything. The places where he brought her cupcakes and coffee omg so freaking cute. I kind of wished that he would be obsessed with her you know earlier in the book. Also the part where the news said he sa'd his coaches daughter and she didn't believe him was kind of sad, I mean it's explainable because there apparently was proof(there was never mentioned what was the proof I think though). Overall the plot was great but there were parts I would change. I probably would give the book like 3 stars. The spice wasn't that good. There was so little of it and kind of not the best written.

Okay, so I loved the first three-quarters of the book, but then the last part just ruined everything. Important details were left out, everything that happened just didn't make sense since those extremely important details were left out. It really just seemed like the author was done with the book and wanted to create a problem and then end it really fast. So, yes after reading the first three-quarters the ending was an incredible disappointment. I still enjoyed the book but when I got to that part I was prepared to just stop reading it. And some parts about Bennett didn't make sense either, but I don't want to spoil it so won't mention any of that stuff.

While the plot was very thought out and brilliantly executed in the beginning, it was kind of weird. The book was probably too long to fit in the actual plot, there was a lot of dead space. I loved the plot idea, but towards the middle and the end, it definitely went downhill fast. A great read though. The book was definitely cheesy and I loved seeing Bennett and Grace go from fake to real, but it was also unrealistic. The book overall was unrealistic. Again, like I said, i love the plot idea, i just wish it had been written better. The end seemed like the author was rushing to finish the book. I don't know if I would ever read from this author again. Good book, good plot, poorly written.

I was so irritated with something in this book that I almost didn’t finish it. The author glossed over some “evidence” against the H. Grrr. The h turns her back on him and we don’t really know what convinced her.

I also had a slight issue that the h is 17 maybe 18 - a college freshman- while the H is 23. This isn’t a historical romance so it felt a little yucky.

For the most part, I enjoyed the writing/story but not sure if I’ll try the author again.

I'm in conflict on how to rate this book. The first 80 percent of the book is awesome but the ending.... Ugh, the ending just slaughtered it for me. I ended up hating Grace. No matter how hard I tried to see it from her point of view, the way it was written seemed too forced. Or maybe that's just me. By the end of the book I was hoping Bennett and Grace wouldn't end up together because he deserved someone better.

I really enjoyed this fauxmance to romance. Watching the affection between these two turn legit was fun, and I thought all the family touches were great too. I had a small issue with the "conflict" storyline. I think I was yelling into the void about it, but I thought the ending was very sweet, and would love to catch up with these two.

Grace and Bennett!

Bad boy meets good girl.
He needs her to help him with her image.
Bennett loves hockey, it is his life.
Grace goes to college.
First they are friends, then they become more.
They overcome there struggles along the way.
Their love ignites both of them.
Really good.
Love the characters.
Worth the read.
