Mark wishes he could forget Sky. He wishes he could move on. But Sky is always there to tempt him. To haunt him. And he now he can't stop himself from succumbing. Again and again.
It's all Mark's fault.
Sky didn't expect to fall into bed with Mark again. Problem is, Sky didn't expect the consequences after either. He never expected to care so much. And even worse? Now he doesn't want to go back to sleeping alone.
They're both to blame, but neither one of them is willing to admit it. And neither one is willing to end it either...
I originally started publishing in the dark erotica genre and I have branched out into M/M romance/erotica.
My latest M/M book, Golden Boys, will be available in July 2021.
I'm a true fan of LOVE, romance, and sexy times.
I love writing about power plays between two people, whether they're in love or in lust. I love the way people can communicate through sex. I love taking my characters to the edge and shoving them off.
If you like to take a walk on the dark side, you're my kind of person. Maybe we can be friends.
Imagine u'r a fish out of water, gasping for breathe. That's how this book makes you feel. It's a dark claustrophobic journey of obsessive love that is maybe 10 years too long in reaching a conclusive happy ending or so it seems.
The one main character leaps off an ever rotating sexual merry-go-round at such an alarming rate that one is left totally dizzy. The furtive hot sex that occurs spans from the innocence of dorm room beds to decadent fifth avenue apartments. If you are sexually deprived than maybe one should read this book at small intervals to avoid sexual envy or an overdose of the primal senses.
On a serious note though, not that sex is not serious but this book is exquisite to read if you ever watched or enjoyed the beautiful agony of the film 'Lilting'.
I was in danger of dropping this book a couple of times but like a smoke hued glass vase one does not mishandle something so delicately crafted so I endured this epic desperate love to it's very beautiful end about Mark a Korean man who is bound by the ghost of his brother & the chains of a family obligation & Sky a uninhabited WASP who cannot forget his first love.
I wish this author would write a sunlit novelette that fully includes Mark's mother as she was a vital silent part as to why one of the main characters was adrift in a sea of despair ever struggling towards a single beacon of light.
This is my first time reading this author's work and I am blown away. It chronicles Sky and Mark's story and is a m/m romance. It is an interracial relationship that deals with suicide, cultural differences among other things.
Sky and Mark were roommates in college where their love story started. Mark's Korean background and his brother's suicide played a major role in his reluctance to fully commit to the relationship; even though he was in love. Sky had no reservation but was hurt before and just couldn't understand Mark's reservation.
The story takes the reader from their teenage years to adulthood ten years later when they ran into each other. The author is a great story teller and had me totally invested in their story and eventual HEA.
This was a really sweet mm romance. It took me a long time to finish not because it was badly written, but because sugary sweet novels either work for me or they don’t. This one just couldn’t hold my attention, especially since I was expecting this book to be another dark romance, the genre Whitney Bianca is known for, and it definitely isn’t. But if you’re looking for a contemporary mm romance, with a little bit of angst, I do recommend this story.
I totally enjoy this author's way with words the natural dialogue and inner thoughts - so well done I can so clearly see and feel both characters the intensity of their emotions is everything I need in a character driven plot like this
they meet in high school both are bisexual they have a very passionate connection but Mark chooses family responsibilities over Sky
now its 10 years later and they meet up by chance, fluke, fate? its very clear neither have moved on from the other, although they both have inconsequential relationships with others during their time apart Mark is hemming and hawing, mostly hawing because he feels responsible for upholding his mother's expectations and a relationship with Sky does not fit the bill
the push and pull between them is frenzied and exhilarating yet desperate and filled with despair they have a sort of friends with benefits thing going on now
Mark is practically engaged to a "suitable" woman - he's looking at rings already, although they don't know each other yet because its pretty much supposed to be a marriage of convenience for the sake of having kids and doing the "right thing"
their story is told in flashbacks so initially I thought Sky was the the one who ended their relationship years ago but you learn later that it's actually Mark who rejects Sky granted, a very vulnerable and young Mark, but I didn't appreciate the way he handled it and how much Sky was hurting
now they push and pull some more - circling around the same thing: how Mark needs to "do the right thing" and let go of Sky easier said than done because their attachment to each other is so all-consuming
during one of Mark's disappearing acts Sky is intimate with some random stranger I don't mind because Mark is working on my dayam nerves by now it falls within my idea of cheating because they are in a relationship, albeit a messed up one at least Mark is never with anyone else after they meet up now
when Mark finds out about Sky's once-off hookup, he walks away and this time stays away for a while... a shortish but miserable while... Mark has a come-to-Jesus moment...okay, longer than a moment...but he finally comes back to Sky
the ending is too abrupt so I don't feel a real sense of closure but they are together and I can convince myself they'll stay together
5☆ for the story, I was never bored and it moved along at a good pace without dragging. Although I wish the epilogue was more in the future and we find out what happened with Mark's mother. The reason I knocked off a star was because for a good chunk of the book the names kept getting mixed up,a lot, and there were scenes that didn't make sense.
This book was maddening but at the same time I really liked it. Oh, the angst. Mark, Mark, Mark...you lived to torture me. High school loves to second chance love.
What an amazing story. This was such an angst read, like waiting for a horrible car collision to happen and you are not able to look away.
Sky & Mark, blaming each other for their obsessiveness towards their relationship and each other, with Mark unable to commit and Sky unable to let go. I loved their chemistry, be prepared for hot sex encounters that will burn the pages, but was so frustrated with their lack of communicating and Mark's sense of honor.
I wondered if this is truly what is expected in certain cultures, that personal happiness is not important, making me very curious to know why Alex did THAT!
The story is told from both Mark and Sky's POV, alternating between the now and the past. I've enjoyed reading every bit, embraced the angst and was pleased with the ending. I highly recommend this book.
