This book is an important and timely research study that explores a little known area of investing, which is that of private mortgage lending. The reason for undertaking the study was twofold; reason one is because for the past 15 years, retirement portfolios have been devastated by stock market fluctuations, resulting from a greater prevalence of boom and bust economic cycles. It is quite possible that currently another bust cycle might be unfolding, in spite of the apparent bull market. The second reason is because of the adopted Federal Reserve policy of creating an artificially low rate environment in an attempt to sustain the continued growth of the stock market and support of the currently real estate recovery efforts. These two economic conditions primarily affect income investors because of the low yields that are being offered by the typically available fixed-income investments, such as bonds, CDs and money-market accounts. The combination of a reduced interest rate environment and the increase stock market volatility has dramatically impacted the livelihood of the fixed income investor. Moreover, it has forced these investors to take greater levels of investment risk by incentivizing them to seek higher yields by investing in the stock market; in essence, the place that has created most of their financial problems.
Gomez, Gustavo J. in his book focuses on investing. The author broadly discussed the different areas one can invest in but paid special attention to private mortgage lending. From the content in the book, one could tell that the author laid facts which were as a result of thorough researching. One can read the confidence in the author’s writing as he talked about different fields in business. I commend Gustavo for his master of business and related subjects, as his explanations were concise and clear for all including beginners to understand. I took reading this book as taking a class where one is taught about the basics and elements that are needed for one to start investing deeply. Through this book, you will be informed about making prudent financial decisions and how to make your money multiply. Gomez starts the first chapter by introducing the reader to private money lending. The language he uses in the introduction is simple and user-friendly. The author gives historical financial situations in the recent past to try and put his discussion into context. Reading through, one gets the impression of having a one-on-one conversation about financial matters with the author. He is engaging throughout the book, giving scenarios that every adult who wishes to invest can resonate with. Gomez poses questions and gives appropriate answers that would guide any novice. The author’s discussion on types of liquid investments was eye-opening. I was enlightened on how to come up with an investment vehicle that can generate a good return on investment. The author wrote this book for every average business-oriented individual. You will get brilliant pointers about lending and earning, owning assets, the stock market and various forms of investing that suit you. The best thing about the author’s writing is how he goes into detail about technical terms. As a newbie in the business world, you will come across heavy jargon that you may not be able to comprehend immediately. Gomez brilliantly expounds the complex financial terms, excellently illustrating how each of them applies. He also gives real-life examples that one can relate to. Reading this book is so simple the reader feels like they have been given everything on a silver platter. This book is not just about investing. The author also touches on saving and spending habits. The discussion in every chapter is informative. I appreciate how the author gave the advantages and disadvantages of every type of investing he talked about. The discussions are sober and the topics covered broadly. I recommend this book to individuals who are interested in everything about finance and investing. The writing, breaking down of points, explanation and general narration by the author was excellent.
Most of us live life without knowing much about how money operates and exchanges from various hands, which can cause plenty of uninformed misunderstandings. The advantage of utilizing the resources, such as books, may improve the self-educator in becoming knowledgable in making wiser financial decisions. Why are finances not the main focal point for everyone in the world? Financial knowledge is important and we can all learn something that would create a stable lifestyle for themselves and their loved ones. Embracing the advantages that the wealthiest people are reaping could create a bridge that could level the playing field between poor and rich.
In "Private Money Lending: Learn How To Consistently Generate A Passive Income Stream," author Gustavo J. Gomez not only teaches his readers how to build streams of passive income but mentions the historical background of money. The risks, benefits, and disadvantages of the possession of money can only be limited to every individual case. Stocks, Bonds, Money-Market, Checking, Savings, and more are some of those the author only began discussing. He goes further into depth as to what each of these is, what they're good for, why people have them, as well as the potential risk of possessing one. There is so much information providing enough details to ensure you'll have a greater chance of increasing your accounts. Charts and tables are included, giving a visual understanding of various points being made. This book could not have been in reach at a greater time. With our nation and world’s current suffering during a pandemic, instilling the abilities to generate additional financial means should be a top priority for all.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to read this book, especially during this pandemic any new financial knowledge will be beneficial. I learned plenty of steps that I can take to enable financial stability for me and my family. Although it might seem like scary new territory, everything in life has risks and many must be willing to opt-in risks that could potentially become gains. The author broke everything down into digestible bites to absorb the information with a better understanding, that it’s fit for all to comprehend. Don't be afraid to seek out benefits that would allow you to live comfortably with skills that well-off individuals have been experiencing for decades. I highly recommend this book to everyone looking for more ways to build their financial freedom and portfolio with options that can improve in the long run.
Private Money Lending by Gustavo Gomez is a how-to guide, teaching you how to generate a passive income through, as the title states, private money lending. The introduction gives a good overview of how the market cycles in booms and busts, and highlights the fact that these are becoming even more common and disastrous for investors. He also explains how artificially low interest rates, intended to sustain growth of the stock and real estate markets, has actually created a need for investors to take bigger risks for bigger returns to maintain their desired incomes. Gomez states this observation was the catalyst for trying to pinpoint an investment opportunity that generates a passive income while bypassing (or at least lessening) both market and investment risks. The investment type Gomez evaluated in this case is private mortgage lending. While this book doesn’t pertain to me in my current situation I found it absolutely fascinating from an economic perspective. I’m not in a place where this type of income generation is plausible for me, yet I see the necessity in learning about and understanding these concepts for possible future endeavors. I loved how Gomez embraced, as he stated, the idea of “Repetitio est mater studorium” or being repetitive to facilitate the process of learning in this book. I know some people find that to be a nuisance but I wholeheartedly agree with him that it’s the best way to retain information and for this type of book, which might be considered dry reading to some, it’s greatly appreciated. As someone who is completely new to looking into these types of income streams, I love how he easily breaks down all the different types of “investment vehicles”, which are anything that you can invest your money in that provides an ROI or return on investment. If you are like me, you don’t need to worry about this book going over your head because Gomez has broken everything down into layman’s terms and made it all easy to comprehend. That said, it’s still incredibly in depth and gives you all the information you need regardless of your level of expertise. I think anyone looking to increase their knowledge of investment opportunities would do good to grab a copy of this book.
Individuals with an eye on their financial future often think about generating passive income as the Holy Grail. There are different ways to achieve that goal, but there’s no denying that if you have a steady, stable passive income stream, you’ll be in a much better position to enjoy the fruits of that revenue both in the present and future. In this book, the author talks about private money lending as a way of generating passive income. He discusses the common sense of trepidation that goes along with getting into this business and how to get past it. He also breaks down how to enter this niche in easily understandable steps.
Private Money Lending: Learn How to Consistently Generate a Passive Income Stream, by Gustavo J. Gomez, is a nonfiction book that’s essentially a deep dive into the world of private money lending. It’s written so as to be as accessible as possible for the layperson who might know very little about this potential endeavor before they start reading.
Most people would probably agree that these days, market instability and a rapidly changing world have made traditional forms of investing shakier than they once were. Gomez talks about that, and he also explains how private money lending, though it may seem scary at first, can actually be a lot more of a sure thing than most individuals realize. He talks about how this is a field for investors that can weather market fluctuation, and he also explains each step that is required if you think you’re ready to take the plunge.
The language he uses is easy to understand, and most readers will appreciate how he simplifies some of the trickier concepts for investing newbies. He also goes into detail about precisely how your life can change if you’re willing to pursue this potential source of revenue.
Not everyone is going to feel ready to follow this path, but it seems clear that those who do can get themselves onto more stable financial footing as they prepare for their eventual retirement. There aren’t many people who wouldn’t willingly sign up for that.
Private Money Lending: Learn how to Consistently Generate a Passive Income Stream, written by Gustavo Gomez is a useful book for those that are studying the topic of money lending, for others, like myself it may be a bit of a struggle to read. I don’t think this book is for people that have little to no knowledge about investing, stocks, and things like that, this book is better suited for people that at least have the basic knowledge and a deep interest in the topic. Gustavo does give real-life examples that were easy to relate to which did help me a bit. There were a lot of points that seemed to be repeated throughout the book. I did struggle to get through the book, but others may not have that problem. You can see that Gustavo really did his research for this book and I applaud him for that. The book isn’t solely about lending, Gustavo also gives tips about saving money which is something I think we all could use and he also gives advice on spending money which is always helpful. I like that he shows there are other ways to save for retirement on top of the social security checks and typical retirement funds. The advice he gives is practical, realistic and helpful, but it felt like a flat read. I’m honestly not sure how he could have made the book exciting or given it a better tone, but the flatness made me pause a few times. Everyone, in my opinion, gets a little fearful when it comes to money. What should I do with it, how do I spend it, where do I invest it, how do I not lose it, what’s safe, what isn’t safe, and things like that, I feel like this book helps you to get a better understanding of those things. Good job to the author for being so in depth on the subject and researching it so thoroughly I’m sure it will help many people. Four out of five stars.
Private Money Lending: Learn How to Consistently Generate a Passive Income Stream by Gustavo J. Gomez is a book blending both business and finance. It explores a little-known area of investment known as private mortgage lending. Not many people know of this type of investment.
In his book, Gomez tackles two financial issues: 1) how retirement portfolios have been wrecked by fluctuations in the stock market. 2) The other problem deals with the adopted Federal Reserve policy, which created an artificially low interest rate used to sustain the continued growth of the stock market. Therefore, these two issues have caused significant financial problems for the livelihood of the fixed-income investor.
Gustavo J. Gomez’s book is a well-written masterpiece for anyone in the field of business and finance. His book is academic in both its reading and understanding. It is not intended for the average layperson. However, as an academic read, it does lay out a solid thesis that is well-supported throughout Gomez’s writing in his book. He does not waver in his argument throughout, and it shows clearly in his writing.
In addition to Gomez’s superb writing, his book is also well-researched. Gomez is very familiar with his understanding of his use of terminology in the book. He is very well-versed in the hermeneutics of private mortgage lending. Gomez does excellent work in historical research in his book. The author’s knowledge of the history of private mortgage lending is quite impressive. Being versed in the history of private mortgage lending supported his thesis well throughout his book, too.
Private Money Lending by Gustavo Gomez is a very detailed book which describes the intricacies of private mortgage lending. It goes from the basics of checking and savings accounts to Private Mortgage Investing. It also talks about the advantages and disadvantages of these topics from a top to bottom approach. Gomez goes on to discuss stocks in his book, and goes in deep detail about private mortgage lending. Overall, he takes great care to ensure that the reader is well informed about the subject he talks about. I really appreciated the way he handled these topics, as they’re not too convoluted for the new reader. Despite this, the reader may feel overwhelmed with the amount of information the book has about them. For example, one of the topics I felt overwhelmed about was when he touched base on the different types of investments. However, the book is very thorough and you can learn a lot so long as you take the time to absorb the material. Gomez takes the time to actually discuss/dissect the information rather than hurriedly parroting it. Another awesome part of this book is how it goes through different methods of investing in private mortgages. His sections on crowdfunding were quite interesting, going over donation and reward based crowdfunding. These sections would help experienced business owners and startups alike. Gomez gives the reader a lot of useful information, and it made me informed on a subject that I have only vaguely heard about before. With how informative it is, I give this book a 5 out of 5.
This book is an extremely comprehensive overview of the opportunities and benefits associated with private money lending. This is an informative and educational read, and although it is occasionally hard work to get through, it is very much aimed (for the most part) at those who lack previous understanding of investment. As such, I would highly recommend it to anyone considering entering into investments as described in the book, but anyone with any level of experience will likely be familiar with much of the information already.
The book is well organised and it is easy to flick between chapters and topics to find the most relevant information, and it is clearly written and easy to understand.
First thing of note, I am a finance novice! I think it's an interesting topic, but am not well versed. This book was actually pretty reader friendly despite being all about a study of the stock market and private mortgage lending. I felt like a smarty pants being able to comprehend what Gomez is saying about many retirees being financially devastated by the downturn of the volatile stock market and how the Federal Reserve affects this.
It's a daunting topic, I know! But being prepared for retirement is important - especially now that we live much longer than before (too morbid?). This book is a great start to understanding how to best grow your wealth and have a consistent passive income stream.
Private Money Lending: Learn How To Consistently Generate A Passive Income Stream by Gustavo Gomez was a very informative read. Gomez in this book taught you everything you needed to learn to make a passive income and discusses the pros and cons of multiple types such as stocks, bonds, real estate etc. He did this before coming to a low-risk investment called private mortgage lending and discussing the rest of the book about this. I really enjoyed this book it was densely filled with information, and I like how it feels like Gomez is letting me in on insider information. My favorite thing about this book is how Gomez is never really selling you on a product or anything, he's just giving you the facts and allowing you to do what you want with them. I would definitely recommend.
