I read it and spent more than 30 hours to practice these techniques.

The book, for me, the most valuable part is about concept of association and link system,it widened my horizons on learning and mnemonics. However, i think those technologies are more suitable for Mnemonic performances, the help of our daily life is limited.

Picked this book up from a used book store. I think memonics and such are useful tricks, especially for students, but not especially practical.

While the first few systems are really useful and provide good insight, things get way too complicated for the average reader to grasp, and the name and face methods really didn't work for me. I'm not saying it is useless, on the contrary, it is a great book with lots of great ways to enhance your memory for show-off reasons. Practicality, however, is really dim.

This book explains a few memory systems that can help us remember various things from a list of items to a string of numbers. The book also gives good examples of how each system can be used which is useful for unenlightened readers. It even discusses a few applications of these systems such as remembering faces, phone numbers, even working out what day of the week a date in the 1900 is.
