Tangled Web:
I love the best friends to lovers trope and this one delivers exceptionally well. Johnny and Katie have been best friends since middle school, both secretly in love with the other but unwilling to admit it for fear of ruining their friendship. As adults, Katie is a social worker in a job that is sucking the life out of her while Johnny enjoys the fame of being a founder and lead guitarist of Spawn (of Satan—they dropped this part of their name when they left Winchester, their hometown), a heavy metal band (Ms. Jamison’s favorite kind).

As an aside, any author who can work the word “semaphoring” into her work without it seeming out of place wins high marks in my book.

Both characters are endearing and relatable and it hurts to see them misunderstanding one another. I was surprised by the amount of time that transpired between their most significant misunderstanding and eventual resolution. Naturally, they figure things out, and then they can laugh about all the time they wasted. After a great deal of pain, for both of them, it’s eventually a fun story with a happy ending.

Everything But:
Riley made an appearance in the first Tangled Web story, as Johnny’s former friend and bandmate, and as Katie’s ex-boyfriend (long story). He didn’t come across as a very nice guy, so this story tells his story (and even his feelings about Katie and Johnny). In this one, he goes home to Winchester and meets Erin, a high school English teacher. Both have been hurt in past relationships and put a one-week expiration date on their fling. Of course, their hearts have different ideas.

One of the things I liked most was when Erin lectured Riley's dad on why metal music was important to fans and even quoted Riley, driving home the truth of what she was saying.

I read this book years ago (but Amazon deleted all of my reviews and I lost this one!), and I recognized it as soon as I began. Even though I remembered most of it and knew how it would end, I still found it engaging and sweet. AND I still cried at the end. Loved this story!

Punctured, Bruised, and Barely Tattooed:
The final book in the Tangled Web series (so far, anyway) is very different from the other two. It’s not until halfway through the story that the reader finds out how these characters, Kory and Stone, connect with the others. Of course, they’re in Winchester, but there’s more to it than that.

This one is told from Kory’s POV and she never really knows how Stone feels about her. Her insecurities and baggage get in the way. Stone is surprisingly warm, affectionate, intuitive, and loving. And unlike most romances, in which a misunderstanding or outside forces conspire to keep the characters apart, the distance between Kory and Stone is the one she imposes, albeit unintentionally. The thing is, Kory needs to come to terms with the sexual abuse she experienced as a child, and Stone is the exact right person to help her do that.

It’s never easy to read about abuse, but Jade Jamison handles it with care while being straightforward and avoiding unnecessary details. She conveys the severity of it without becoming maudlin and she tackles the themes of safety and trust in a way that conveys understanding and compassion. Both Stone and Kory hide secrets and as they grow in trust for one another, their sense of safety grows and they share the things they cannot share with anyone else.

The book actually made me laugh a few times. First, when describing where the counselor’s office was located, the narrator said it was “next to a bank and in the same building the driver’s license people were in.” I think most people call that the DMV (Dept of Motor Vehicles). Ha!

The other part that made me laugh was when Kory was admiring Stone’s many tattoos and felt thankful his dick was not also tattooed. This led her down the path of wondering…do guys need to be hard when they get tattoos and how does the tattoo artist feel about that? Then, because Stone was a tattoo artist, she wondered if he could tattoo his own dick. She didn’t voice any of this aloud but I found it hysterical, probably because I’d never given it any thought myself.

The story eventually ends happily, and although it wasn’t as long-time-coming as Katie and Johnny’s or as romantically sappy as Erin and Riley’s, it was still a satisfying ending and I enjoyed it.

I read and loved all three of these books about a year and a half ago and fell in love all over again rereading them in this box set. Jade is one of the few authors on my "will definitely read again books" list. I love her writing style, the amazing characters and storylines she creates, and the "feels" I get when I read any of Jade's work. As an added bonus to the three Tangled Web Series books, Jade has included four short stories, three that expand on each book and one that I am really hoping is a book/novella we can expect to see in the future.

Tangled Web

Katie and Johnny have known each other and have been best friends since grade school. She has loved/crushed on him since high school. Johnny started his road to rock stardom in high school as well. Katie kept quiet about her crush as she watched him go from girl to girl, breaking her heart a little more each time. They’ve both grown and had separate lives but have remained best friends over the years and she’s seen him off and on when he stops by to visit when they have a break in touring. Katie had to make some changes to her goals in life to help with her family and seems to have settled into a mundane routine with her job and is now engaged. A fact she doesn’t share with Johnny when he shows up for his most recent visit. During this visit, things take a serious turn and get heated leading to a night of the best lovemaking she’s ever known. Afterwards, when he finds out about Grant, she fears she has lost her best friend. Johnny is angry and hurt beyond words and to say their relationship is strained is putting it mildly. Katie is forced to take stock in her life and decides it’s time for change and refocuses on doing what she had always intended to do. When they reconnect a year later, Johnny makes a comment, trying to not exactly get revenge but make her see what he felt, things somewhat backfire but in a way that finally gets these two to open up and discuss their relationship and what has transpired in the past.
This is a great read filled with personal growth and reflection, life struggles and successes. Both Johnny and Katie felt real and relatable and I was rooting for them from the beginning. Another great rock romance from Jade!

Everything But

Erin Lancaster is an English teacher who has been roped into helping with the cheerleaders and the fund raising auction. She is less than thrilled to find out she has to go up on the auction block herself, and to make matters worse, the emcee for the event in none other than her music crush from her teen years, former front man of Spawn and current front man for Undue Influence, Riley Schultz!
Riley isn’t looking forward to emceeing the fundraiser, he only agreed to appease his mother who is on the school board. When he notices and is instantly taken with the gorgeous blonde and realizes she is going to be auctioned off, he sets a plan in motion and is the highest bidder. He’s in town for a week, so why not make the best of it!
And, oh my, what these two go through in this one week is full of ups and downs, love and confusion, misunderstandings and conflicts. I really felt for Riley. His struggles with his addiction, wanting to just be accepted by his parents, his mother’s meddling and the ultimatum! I loved the way Erin backed him up and stood up for him at the barbeque. Oh and the serenade...**swoon** How can you not love him!!
Great addition to the Tangled Web series! I’ve said it before and I’ll said it again, I just love Jade and no-one writes rock romance better.

Punctured, Bruised, and Barely Tattooed

Kory McCallister is a 20yr old who has survived so much in her young life. She has been coming to The Iron Maiden for over a year and getting piercings from Stone Bowman. It all started out as a way to try to conquer her fear of needles, but after that first visit, she has an undeniable attraction to Stone. There is something about him that calms her. She feels safe when he has his hands on her doing the piercings. Like there is a deep down connection but she can’t quite put her finger on it. Of course the fact that he is insanely hot and tattooed all over is a huge turn on! On a dare from her friends, she asks him out for pizza and is blown away when he accepts!
Stone is used to girls flocking in and throwing themselves at him because of who he is, but could it possibly be true that Kory doesn’t know who he is and really just wants to hang out with Stone? He’s been intrigued by her from the beginning and agrees to go out for pizza, wanting to know more about her. He knows she has secrets, but then again, so does he.
I can’t put into words how much I loved this book. Kory has a dark and twisted past full of demons she is trying to overcome. Stone wants a woman who will see him for who he is, not who is was. He has the strength and compassion to help Kory, and she has the ability to see and love him for him, not even realizing his past. These are two separate souls, who together, complete and complement each other. The way Stone is with her when she opened up about her secrets just melted my heart and I completely fell in love with him. He is so tender, compassionate, caring, and loving. WOW, just WOW. So well written. This is probably my favorite in the series so far. I just absolutely love it!.

This is a box set you really need to get!

I am going to review these as individual books because as a whole I believe I couldn't do the review Justice

Book 1 Tangled Web

OK now this was a very good book with in-depth characters and a well thought out plot, I enjoyed the way the characters developed their relationship and I found it to be an enjoyable read, although out of the 3 books i found this one the hardest to read, not because the content but i am a very linear person and the book jumped from past to present and back again a lot and I found that difficult to keep a nice flow going. but if you don't mind that you will love this rock-star romance.

Book 2 Everything But

Loved this book out of the 3 this was by far my favorite, the plot flowed well and the characters were very enjoyable, if you like a good paced rock-star romance with a few hurdles in the way of their happily ever after you will enjoy this book.

Book 3 Punctured, Bruised and Barely Tattooed

out of the 3 books this was the one that had the more emotional connection, a tad dark in places and not the typical rock-star backdrop but it worked well for story.

I must admit that the 3 books may all be rock-star romances connected to the same band but that is where the similarity ends so if you don't like one of the book still read the other 2 as they are completely different and I am sure you will enjoy at least 2 of the 3 if not all 3.

I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to leave a review.

What a great collection of stories!! I absolutely love rock star romances, so to be able to get a boxed set by an author who writes some of the best rock star romances is simply awesome. Individual reviews of each story is below.

Tangled Web - 4 Stars

Oh my gosh. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Jade C. Jamison can write some rock stars. I enjoyed the characters in Tangled Web, Katie and Johnny. I love how they reconnected via the radio and how he recognized her voice immediately. Gave me the feels. I also love how Katie is prim and proper, but inside is a heavy metal fan. Kind of reminds me of myself a little bit. Jade C. Jamison is fantastic at writing that kind of character. This is a quick, page-turner and I highly recommend it to rock star romance fans!

Everything But - 5 Stars

I loved this story. I love normal girl meets rock star stories. It makes you believe that anything is possible and that love can be found in the most unexpected places, in unconventional ways, between two people who couldn't seem more different. Erin and Riley were great characters. Wasn't too fond of Riley's parents, but his mother at least redeemed herself in the end. The story has its ups and downs, and was simply awesome. Another quick read, I was intrigued from the very beginning and couldn't stop reading!

Punctured, Bruised, and Barely Tattooed - 5 Stars

This might be my favorite of the Tangled Web set. I loved Stone and Kory...my heart just went out to her. I enjoyed the dynamic between the two of them and the way things played out. It was so entertaining and heartwarming. A little less on the rock star, though Stone was a rock star, but still such a great story with deep, somewhat dark themes. I could definitely read this again and again.

The series takes place in Winchester, and I was waiting for an appearance of Nicki. Especially when the characters went to Napoli! :)
