SQUEALING with glee! There is snarky transmasculine Jewish SFF m/f romance in the world!

This tiny piece unfurls like a tea flower, starting with a tone/voice-style familiar from our traditional stories and then revealing trans representation and a speculative theme. I hope the suitor of the title is successful in his efforts--for his own sake, and his personality, and not just for all the practical reasons he points out. (I have to say, if she isn't into him, those practical reasons wind up becoming kind of creepy! So I'll just look at this one through rainbow-colored Magen David glasses and have my fun.)

4. I am better-looking than Hershel Schmulewitz. This is not vanity; it is plain fact. Isn’t it much more pleasant to have a man who’s decorative around the house than one who isn’t?

here (I didn't listen to the audio, but it is available on podcastle!)

(I read them in reverse order 3-2-1 because why not, but this is #1 in a short story series: it goes yudah cohen > shaina rubin > gitl schneiderman & I look forward with eager anticipation to the installment about tante leah)

Please excuse me while I take a flailing lap around the house from pure delight, this short-short story (a letter in which a young rabbi explains to his intended why he is a better option, as WHAT a good short story.

An excellent read. Were this the prologue to a full novel, I would pick it up in a heartbeat.

I read this ages ago. I didn't look for it here because I didn't think it had a Goodreads page.

It was funny and I didn't expect it to be or to have any paranormal aspects.

Simply adorable! I wish this were the first chapter of a novel just so I could read more about them (and hopefully their marriage).
