When I came across this book, I was looking for a basic book on SQL for users who wish to do simple tasks, such as build simple DBs and Tables and, most importantly, do queries and extract valuable information from pre-existing DBs. I liked the premise of the book, with simple direct explanations, examples, short chapters, and exercises.

Unfortunately there are too many issues with the state of the book as it is now (September 2019). It looks like it was not edited at all. There are language problems, lots of unnecessary repetition and lack of essential information at times - e. g. where is the code example in Chapter 34? The steps of cloning a table are also very confusing in this chapter. Moreover, there is zero information about the author. I would very much suggest it to be added in a future edition.

The structure is very messy. This book would greatly benefit from simply writing it in LaTex - as it should be with any Computer Science book. LaTex would solve all structural problems with the text, chapters and example codes.

All in all, I think it could be useful as a look-up for some of the example commands. The exercises are a great idea, but should be expanded with more questions. This book needs a revision drastically.

This was a super quick read with lots of problems throughout (unfortunately). It did give some good overviews/refreshers, though.
