A perfect gift book filled with whimsical, colorful illustrations, short lists, cheerful prompts, recipes, and fun facts, The Tiny Book of Tiny Pleasures is the sweetest reminder imaginable that it’s the little things in life that make us happy. Little things like sharing tea with a friend. An ice cream cone with sprinkles. Finding a forgotten item of clothing in the closet. The smell in the air right after a summer rain.
Created by the editors of Flow magazine, The Tiny Book of Tiny Pleasures is a celebration of slowing down and appreciating the simple moments of life—all you have to do is take notice.
A great read to start the week “filled with whimsical, colorful illustrations, plus cheerful random prompts, thoughts, and facts, The Tiny Book of Tiny Pleasures is a pocket-size gift of joy Created by the editors of Flow magazine, it encapsulates the qualities that make their work so distinctive—the sensibility of slowing down and appreciating the simple moments of life, the emphasis on everyday creativity, and the joys of imperfection.”
This book ended up reminding me a lot of 14,000 Things to Be Happy About by Barbara Ann Kipfer, which is a book I’ve been wanting to read for awhile now. But turns out this tiny read was a lot more accessible and pleasant because it had these incredibly vibrant and lively colors guaranteed to brighten up your day even just a tiny bit. Plus, certain pieces are accompanied by insightful commentary and tips that really add depth to the ongoing arc.
On that note, here are some of my favorite mentions from The Tiny Book of Tiny Pleasures:
I think the above might just be my favorite piece. I mean, look at those colors!!!
This last one brought to mind Ring Road, Iceland & The Atlantic Road, Norway, which the book mentioned earlier on. And thanks to said mention, I discovered this beauty of a place in Norway:
All in all: I'm truly grateful for this read because it made me discover an abundance of new places and insights thanks to the author’s many welcome recommendations.
But damn did The Tiny Book of Tiny Pleasures end quickly. Since I wasn’t really paying attention to the page number and just enjoying flipping from page to page, I was stunned to have suddenly reached the acknowledgments... That's when you know it was a good read.
4/5 stars

This delightful, feel-good book reminded me of so many things I love and enjoy, of some of the small pleasures that make me happy, of the things I am truly grateful for. Also, it has tips, new words from different languages, and some useful information.
The illustrations are charming and the colouring is warm and soothing. I think I need to go back to it from time to time.
You can't help being happier when you read about small pleasures, and this is a whole book of small pleasures. I would love to now make my own book of these.
This is the such a fun and inspirational book. I have flipped through it dozens of times when I need a quick pick me up. I am currently keeping it on my bed side table. This is not a book you just read and put away on the shelf to collect dust.
Just a tiny happy book, very nice to look through when you want to be reminded of small joys with colorful illustrations. It's sweet, precious and charming in every way, I really liked it!
This year I have been trying to recognize all the joys I have in my life. I have a calendar where I daily mark something I have been thankful for in the last 24 hours. There are lots of repeats which is not an issue but this sweet book gave me some great new ideas of things that I am thankful for that I sometimes forget... like shade and bubbles (yes, I blow bubbles for my cat). Highly recommended if you are struggling with joy in these stressful times.
This book really is tiny and it really is a pleasure. The simple art is a pleasure to look at, the single illustrated suggestion on each page often makes you think, "Oh yeah! That IS a pleasure." There are check boxes next to each idea, so you could use the book to tick off pleasures as you experience them, but you can also dip in and out of it. This makes a nice gift, would go nicely on a night stand in a guest room, or can sit on a shelf next to other things that remind you to take care of yourself and find joy where you can.
I really liked reading this book fun colorful pics with every quote there were so many cool things listed in the book that made me smile when I read it ones that isn't listed in other books to be grateful for like tiny pleasure of rediscovering a clothing item in the back of your closet, a pre warmed bed, something that falls yet doesn't break. If you need a pick me up this book is it .
This is a delightful little book that is chocked full of ideas on how to bring joy and pleasure into your everyday life with little or no effort at all. The illustrations are nice and simple. The book is guaranteed to evoke some memories in everyone. It will even soothe the most grumpiest of grumps!!
In the beginning, the book says,“Always remember to look up once in a while—a change in perspective, no matter how small, can be magical.”I really loved this little saying. This is more of a journal actually. Each of its pages is filled with an individual drawing that presents some teeny tiny pleasures like losing yourself in a bookshop, finding a coin in pocket, trying out a new recipe, a tidy desk, a day without no appointment and so on! Regardless of belonging to different creeds and cultures, we all would be able to relate ourselves to these little gleeful things. Along with the colorful illustrations, this book also includes beautiful quotes, recipes, tips, fun facts such as the best time of vacationing, list of the greatest onscreen kisses, how to make chocolate-covered strawberries, the best cities to wander around, easiest plants to grow and what not! It is all about finding happiness in very simple things and that makes this book more beautiful. 😊
I bought this book on a whim since I was immediately attracted to it for many reasons. First off, I loved the cover--I love the artistry in this book. I actually have a collection of small books, but I wasn't sure when I bought it if I was going to keep it or give it away. I knew it would make a great little gift for someone, but I wanted to read it...so I guess that someone turned out to be me! It's a sweet little book that makes one grateful for a great many things, and it has some ideas and possibilities for new experiences and adventures.
This book was a gift from a friend while I was going through a challenging time. I flipped through it a bit each day, and really tried to focus on each tiny pleasure, and how I could apply it to my life. Sometimes it really does help to focus on the little things! The book is filled with whimsical pictures, inspiring quotes, fun facts, ideas, and a few recipes. I highly recommend using a few page tabs to save some favorite pages!
Each page is some small pleasure - making a wish and blowing a dandelion, creating something, spotting something beautiful, glimpses of nature in the city - with a delightful little accompanying illustration. This past year has been a humdinger on the world stage, and we need all the small pleasures we can get. Lose yourself for a while in this small pleasure of a book.
Skews upper-middle class and can veer into twee and repetitive (we get it, the authors are really into hot chocolate and crafting), but this is still sweet, innocent, and a pick-me-up with very cute illustrations. A gift from a dear friend, and a much appreciated one.
Love the simplicity and at the same time how well done this book was put together, I even started to be more aware of the little treasures we have all around us. Thanks a lot.
Another lovely Flow Magazine book on little things in daily life that contribute to tiny pleasures, supplemented with quotes, fun facts, recipes for food/drinks, and scientific researches on how these things make us happy.
