Lioness shifter Scarlett Milan hates that she wants her boss more than her next breath. All she thinks about is how his black-rimmed glasses and bow tie are sexier on him than any other man. But since he’s human, she’s afraid she could break him, even kill him, during a night of wild sex. Knox Daniels, wimpy bean counter, has lusted after Scarlett since the moment he met her. The fact she’s his best friend’s little sister has stopped all dirty thoughts. Well, almost. After he breaks up with his girlfriend, getting his hands on Scarlett is the first thing on his to-do list. Being murdered was not. A vicious attack almost kills Knox, but science comes to the rescue. Now he’s no longer the weak human Scarlett was afraid to touch. Actually, no one knows what he is except possessive, aggressive, and demanding she be his. Quick, sexy shifter story! 3.75 stars

I admit this shifter story was a tad ridiculous in its concept and had a rushed ending, but I enjoyed it all the same. I've never read a shifter story where a character was able to multi-shift, but there was plenty of steam and talk of mates to keep the story interesting. I will be continuing on in this series! ♡

Hmmmm

Tamika, not sure what to say about this one. It's mostly fun but it's also pretty over the top with a serious load of deus ex machina.

But it's in Prime, so... lol!

BTW, beware plot holes SO BIG you can drive a semi through them.

Scarlett is a lion shifter who lusts heavily after her boss, the human Knox.
Giving into her feelings one night- she runs away before her lioness can take over and mate him.
Knox has always been attracted to Scarlett. After a night of hot sex, while she runs away and he is attacked.
To save him, Zeke the geneticist gives him a DNA cocktail after which he develops animal and superhuman senses.
Super- added is a mystery mixed in with some smokin love making and batter.
Enjoyed it but I hope more attention was paid on the main couple.

This one is for the ladies. Nothing wrong with that. A guy can still enjoy a book whose primary audience is the opposite sex. My reviews are there to express my feelings about a story or any thoughts I had while reading. My own personal diary (that a post for anyone to read). This book made me think of a Jordan Peterson interview I had seen. He talked about google engineers came up with a program to look for patterns when it comes to women watching porn. The top 5 most searched porn topics for women: Vampire, Werewolf, Billionaire, Surgeon, Pirate. Women want the dangerous person that can control themselves. One of the other things that I noticed is the way the story went. Erotica written for men are more about the physical aspect of sex. The sexual act leads to pleasure which leads to emotions. Erotica written for men will have the women have multiple orgasms. Erotica written for women is more about the feelings, the buildup. The emotions are there first which lead to the sexual desire and pleasure. There aren't multiple orgasms because it isn't about the end goal of having an orgasm but the process. The seduction. The wanting. The desire. That is more important to the female readers of erotica. IMO. I could be full of sh*t. Who knows.

Anyway this story is told from 2 points of view. The boss and his employee. The employee is a werelion. She has a problem. Her lion has claimed her boss as her mate. That is a problem because her boss is human. She can break him if she is not careful. If she isn't in control she might accidently bite him which will either turn him or kill him. There is also another problem. He is somewhat of a geek. He wears thick glasses and a bowtie. He is great with numbers and doesn't go out and party. Why is her lion attracted to him. Still she wants him as well but can't bring herself to do anything. He wants her as well but is afraid to do anything. That is until he sees her masturbate on his security camera in his office. He breaks up with his GF and then makes his move. They have sex but she loses control and she runs away so she doesn't hurt him. Later he is attacked by another were creature and almost dies. A friend uses an experimental drug to help him live and it turns him into something new. Not just an alpha but something more.

The story needed to be a little longer. Like I said above this is written with the main audience being female so it couldn't be just about the sex. There had to be a buildup. So this couldn't be a 20 minute short erotica story. The problem I have is that is was long enough to leave a lot of things out. The boss knows about shifters. Does everyone know or is it just a few people? Overall I would rate this is just okay. Not really intended for me but not bad.

3.5 fun and OTT stars!

Never underestimate a Geek!

I wasn’t far into Alpha Geek when I started talking to the other girls I blog with, telling them I had found a book they would both love. It had a fun air to it all the way through with unashamedly totally over the top situations. Any moment, I was certain a voice over would announce, but wait, there’s more. Thank goodness it didn’t happen because I would have shrunk down and hidden, fearful of the announcer continuing with details of what was next!

Fun is the word that keeps coming to mind when I want to describe why I enjoyed reading Alpha Geek. The reason I enjoyed it so much was due to the steamy moments (and boy, wait until you get to the ‘no one will see me’ scene!) and the way the story flowed effortlessly. There were situations I would usually roll my eyes at, but they amazingly remained at a level I was prepared to accept and kept on reading. It was a short story and I’m convinced this is the secret to why I didn’t get frustrated because had it stretched out any longer, I doubt I would have enjoyed it to the same extent.

The story is about Scarlett, a shifter in a society where shifters are a part of the community, and what happens when her lioness finds her boss, Knox a fascinating potential (but human) mate. Concerned her strength will end up hurting or killing Knox she attempts to keep a safe distance between them. What made this book so fun was the way situations turned around quickly without raising anything more out of me than a smirk.

For someone who loves a dark, suspenseful read, Alpha Geek was an entertaining way to add some light into my day. I was searching for an analogy to describe the difference between a book that gives me a book buzz and this, with the first thought being it was like popping candy chocolate – fun and frivolous and you still smile when you hit the candy popping even though you know it is going to happen any moment.

These are nice to read once in a while for a quick little crazy 😅

This story was all over the place, insta love, crap pacing, but still an addictive short read!

the thing that bugged the most abt this was the way nerds were represented! If I remember correctly, the main dude who’s name I have already forgotten already wore a E=Mc2 shirt… I just think that was a cheap shot of trying to make him seem nerdy!

Also a little side note for those going into reading this, this is basically wattpad but in published book form 😅

This is fun read. I love the hero and the heroine seems pretty cool.

The problem is we just get a quick sip of everything in this book. The love story, character development, and overall plot. I liked it but it wasn't fulfilling without further development.

I was fortunate enough to snag this one as an advance copy and have to say that I fell in love with a geek named Knox. But, true to form, Taiden didn't just write a story about a geek getting the girl and the two of them living happily ever after. Oh, there was a happily ever after alright but the story contained so much more. Alpha Geek was a perfect balance of humor, action, and sexxxaaay times. Knox will definitely have you swooning before and after his ... "change". And man oh man, I adored what Taiden did with his "change" too. No spoilers but I totally wasn't expecting what happened and I loved it. Definitely pick this one up for a great read!

I've always liked Milly's books because it makes me smile. H is human and h is a lion shifter. She wants him but knows she will be hurting him when they have sex because he's human. H became a shifter in the end, not just one kind but three kinds of animal.

This is just ok, I like it but not really like it. I'm torn. I usually enjoy her books but this just fell short for me.

Both not virgins. H was with a gf but they never had sex because he can't get it hard. It only gets hard if he thinks of h. He broke it off and focused on h.

This was an interesting listen. It's a short story, but it comes with everything you expect in a Milly Taiden story. I liked the characters and the aspect of the multi-animal shifter. I'm looking forward to listening to more of this series. Well done to the author!

Im a bit torn

So I liked the characters I liked the premise and I even liked the writing. However, I feel as if it was so rushed it came out more like a B Porn movie. So much was missing. I didn't know Knox knew of shifters and he was shy and awkward one second then he wasn't. Then he was a shifter who knew everything and even though he was a geek 2 sentences before now he can fight .. And when he did change the only thing that was thoroughly explained was how his already huge man part grew to shifter size huge man part.. Because if the man I love was all of a sudden changing shape and getting taller and stronger after being attacked by a wolf and shot up w unknown drugs, the first thing I'm gonna do is Rip off his sheet while he is unconscious and make sure his boy parts grow too!!! Then there is Scarlet she hated Knox then wanted him in then same paragraph. I was all so squished together. I wish there was another hundred pages in then book to build the story a little more.
The weird part is I rid not hate this book.. I kinda liked it. It just needed more so it wasn't so rushed. We didn't have time to build our own relationship with the characters.

Scarlett and her lioness disagree regarding their feelings about Scarlett's boss, Knox. The lioness wants to do naughty things with him and to him, while Scarlett wants to kill him, okay, she really wants to do the naughty things too. But all he seemed to do was work, plus he had a girlfriend, and he was human...the last meaning she could never truly let her animal side out with him, yet her lioness keeps Scarlett returning to her job, and Knox, every day because she believes Knox is her mate.

Knox felt an instant attraction to Scarlett upon first meeting her, and as a favor to Nick, his best friend and her brother, he agrees to hire her as his assistant. Thankfully, Scarlett is a great employee. Unable to control his attraction to her, especially after seeing a show she didn't know he witnessed, he decides to end things with his girlfriend, Lisa, his biggest client's daughter, and he refuses to let her talk him out of it this time. She annoys him, is always late, he's tried to break up with her numerous times already, and she doesn't excite him at all on a sexual level, as evidenced by them never being together that way, and...she's not Scarlett.

Though hesitant to attend, Scarlett, dressed as slave girl Princess Leia, arrives at Knox's Halloween party for employees and clients and quickly loses her brain upon seeing Knox dressed as Superman. When she learns he ended his relationship with Lisa, which was truly the only thing keeping her passion for him contained, and he acts on their mutual attraction, Scarlett allows her lust for him to burst free. What happens next is an encounter she could easily get used to, along with the dirty talk she never expected from Knox in all his alpha geeky glory.

"This is only the beginning, Scarlett." - Knox

But Scarlett, determined to fight the lioness's assertion that they're mates, shifts and runs away after their explosive coming together *snicker snicker* because she's worried about biting him, mating him, changing him, and therefore potentially losing him if the change doesn't take. What she doesn't know is that she may have lost him forever.

Knox already knows Scarlett is his and will do what he needs to to make her accept that. However, shortly after she left, he sees someone struggling in the woods outside the party and his natural urge to protect has him running towards the altercation. What he finds is Lisa being dragged away against her will and when he tries to help, Knox gets an up close look at the man's claws, claws that lead to Knox laying near death and possibly transforming into a wolf, courtesy of the one that attacked him. With Knox losing the fight, Scarlett begs her brother, Nick, to do something, anything, to save him. Nick, albeit reluctantly as it's not a guaranteed solution, calls he and Knox's friend, Zeke, which leads to Knox getting four injections. They may or may not help him, but if he survives they will definitely change him from the man they knew before.

What exactly will Knox become after those injections? Is a wolf the only animal that Knox now carries? What happens after they learn Zeke's lab partner stole everything, serums, Knox's blood, and Zeke's research?  Will they be able to stop him from selling the information? Will they learn why Knox was attacked? What happens when the truth comes out and Knox realizes he was being played? Will Knox and Scarlett be able to start their future together?

One-click now and read about this hot geek that defies the sterotype and the woman he craves to make his. Psst...be prepared to stick your head in the freezer or jump your significant other afterwards, or during, because Knox and Scarlett together are undeniably hot.

**I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.**

A expérimenter quand même.

3.5-4 stars

This was a pretty good story. I liked both Knox & Scarlett and enjoyed their story. I will say that this story is supposed to be 130 pages long but it seemed shorter, I finished it in about half the time I expected.

Scarlett is a lion shifter that works as an assistant a geeky financial genius. Scarlett has a brother, Nick, who owns a security company. Her BFF is married to Nick and has babies which Scarlett loves to cuddle and is a bit jealous of. Scarlett's lion wants to mate and have cubs but the problem is, the lion is fixated on Knox and Knox is human.

Knox is a financial genius that's a big geek as well. He's hot but dresses like a geek and comes complete with a huge comic book collection and rooms worth of collectible figurines and other geeky memorabilia. Knox is best friends with Nick (Scarlett's brother) and has been wanting her since they first met. He is dating a woman named Lisa but hasn't been able to go very far with her because of his feelings for Scarlett.

Scarlett used to work for Nick at the security company but got tired of the issues associated with that business. Nick got Knox to hire her but the time Scarlett has been working for Knox has been trying for them both. Knox being in a relationship with Lisa helped Scarlett ignore her Lion's insistence that they mate with Knox but it hasn't been easy. When Know ends up breaking up with Lisa, it's pretty much impossible for Scarlett to put her feelings for Knox off any more but she's worried about hurting him during sex.

The story is rather short so I can't go into too much detail but lets just say that as Scarlett is struggling with how much she can having with Knox without endangering him, something (Not Scarlett's fault) happens that brings Knox close to death. Something is done that brings Knox back but in an unusual way. Knox ends up being more than strong enough to be with Scarlett and after they work some things out, they come together and start a HEA together.

This was a pretty enjoyable story. I liked Scarlett and Knox and enjoyed their story. I liked the story and would recommend it but (fair warning) it was a quicker read than expected.

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

I’ll be very upfront – if you do not enjoy smokin’, sizzlin’ hot, get out the fire extinguisher Shifter sex… then this one might not be for you. But if you enjoy Milly Taiden’s stories you know what your’e gonna get and it’s hotness.

I’m going to admit to a life long love affair with Clark Kent otherwise known as Superman. I mean, the glasses, the muscles, the eyes, that smile, oh that dimple.. come on, you know you love him too. I also admit that there has only ever been one Superman for me and that’s Christopher Reeve.

But Knox? This geek is super hot (and you’ll get the Superman reference when you read it *wink*) I certainly cannot blame Scarlett for her fascination with this man. Too bad he’s human and she’s a lioness shifter… she’d claw him alive if she ever got him into her bed. Right? He’s her boss and she shouldn’t be having thoughts of tossing him on the conference table, but what’s a girl gonna do.

When Scarlett reluctantly attends an early Halloween party hosted by Knox she never thought that everything was going to change in a heartbeat. But it did and now she’s trying to save her mate’s life after an attack that will have such interesting results for them both.

Alpha Geek is such an unadulterated fun story. Yes, it’s sexy as all get out, and has an interesting plot but it’s a fun read as well. And sometimes sexy and fun fits my needs perfectly. If you’re in the mood to sizzle and giggle… pick this one up soon.

I read this story through my Kindle Unlimited subscription. For ten dollars a month you get access to thousands of really great stories across all genre, and the authors get paid for you reading the story through to the 100% mark. It’s a win-win. Probably the best 10 bucks I spend a month.

Who wrote this book? They are getting worse

This is a hard book to rate. I used to enjoy this author but I think I have grown past her stories. (and the stories are getting worse in my opinion) In this specific book I was extremely disappointed. I really did not care about either the hero or the heroine and there wasn't enough backstory to feel the emotions. This really isn't a romance and it's not erotica --- it was more a porn slant where the sex was up and foremost. You had two sex episodes before you even knew anything about the story. It is raunchy.
And what was so silly was the serum that transformed the geek to a alpha with multiple animals . That's not bad. That could've been interesting. But in one day he almost died and then the next day he's able to understand his animals and his abilities with no problems. I just laughed and laughed and couldn't wait for the story to finish. And the Alpha wanted her to be barefoot and pregnant if she wanted. Growl. You can still have a baby but why does the author have to push out dated ideals. I think a new Alpha is needed!
