Love the convenience of store-bought... but long for the personalized touches that make home accents and clothing unique? Get Easy Stitching with Buttons, Beads and Braids, the book that shows how to add hand-crafted details to tablecloths, pillows, bags, shirts, sweaters, and more. The result: twenty-one wonderful projects that look like they're fresh from a chichi crafts fair. Baby booties, a ladybug purse, a pencil holder, a ribbon notebook cover—complete patterns make it all oh so easy.
Disappointing. Many large, poorly styled photos. Several projects are of questionable durability: Day Dream tutu with easily tuggable bows, Reflection pillow and Journey note book cover with long, easily-snagged threads. Some of the diagrams (how to secure your threads, finishing diagram 12 on page 43) are not instructive! The Spots bag and First Prize jacket is a 1990's throwback. I want my work to look hand-crafted not home-made.
