“Because when we give too many fucks, when we choose to give a fuck about everything, then we feel as though we are perpetually entitled to feel comfortable and happy at all times, that’s when life fucks us.” - Mark Manson

“The desire for more positive experience is itself a negative experience. And, paradoxically, the acceptance of one’s negative experience is itself a positive experience. - Mark Manson

“Life is essentially an endless series of problems. The solution to one problem is merely the creation of another.” - Mark Manson

“You and everyone you know are going to be dead soon. And in the short amount of time between here and there, you have a limited amount of fucks to give. Very few, in fact. Book Summary

Mark Manson cuts through the clichés of the self-help industry and depicts life for what it a series of misadventures and failures that leads to death. He uses crude humor, some wisdom he stumbled on while he was high on acid, and tales of rockstars and deadbeats to diagnose the human condition and offer practical tips for living a good life. His approach is immensely enjoyable and oddly reassuring.

The cliff notes version of the book. Lots of food for thought. In essence, be yourself. Trust your instincts but also remember that your "gut" feelings could be swayed by emotion, which isn't always reliable. If you're into deep introspective, this is probably a good primer to the original work.

As opposed of the previous book I read about general information about today’s society, here is another choice you could easily pick. Not giving a f*ck.
Don’t worry, I’m not telling you to ignore everyone and their opinions, this is just an easy pick to fight against all the negativity surrounding our society, despite of what we want to spread [positivism and optimism], it’s actually harder to fight against pessimism and negativity, so don’t giving a single thought of giving a f*ck is also really helpful.
Times are actually quite strange, people want safe space to breath and talk about their opinions while others want their opinions to be the only opinion available, so at certain times, it’s just the best to be far away from that. I’m having a blast with all of these different yet parallels topics, and given the contrast of each one, you could say you are reading the two sides of a coin, but that is just one way to see it.

Great read! Perfect summary to make you want to read more!

The Summary of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck has piqued my interest in such a way that I immediately bought the original book. There are so many great points in this book that I had to get the original to read further into it all. This summary is only 28 pages long, and it doesn’t give away a whole lot, just enough to make sure that you are hooked enough on the general gist of the original that you NEED to read the whole thing! That being said, I’d probably skip the summary entirely and just buy the original! Though I think I will keep the summary as well just for a quick reference to some of my new favorite lines!

I have heard about this book as it seems to be trending right now on social media. I purchased the summary, which is less than 30 pages of material on what you can expect to find in the book. With that being said there are some great lines in here! There is also some bulleted info which makes for an easy read, and the author has some good points that promote positivity, which is the premise of the book. It seems like everyone has an opinion now days and it can leave a person drained and depressed. The summary of The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck was the uplifting, humorous, insightful read that makes me want to purchase the actual book.

I really enjoyed this book. It made me laugh and for me to actually sit and listen (Audiable) that is saying something.

Mark Manson had some interesting points to make and I pretty much agreed with them all.

If you are looking for a fast read, some laugh out loud humor and basic I don't give a F*ck attitude this is the book for you!
