Raising the Stakes by Autumn Reed & Julia Clarke
2.5/5 stars: I truly love the stardust series, but in this story I found something lacking.

2/5 stars: I have to agree with other reviews here, I would have loved to read HOW they got to know each other and got together instead of being thrown into the middle of the story. I might read the first book.

2.5/5 stars: Wow this story is rather sexy with a bucket full of sex, so be warned ;) It is a fairy tale, which surprised me and because I am personally not too big on reading them (except when I was a child and reading them TO kids) I found it only okay.
House of Glass by Lyn Forester
4/5 stars: It took me one, okay rather two chapters to get into it. However, then I could not put it down. The sci-fi universe was interesting, so were the characters and their story. . I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

4.5/5 stars: I really like the fantasy elements in it and the story and characters in general are great! It was a bit more of a slow-burning romance-which I liked. Can't wait for the next book.

1/5 stars: This was the only story where I had a hard time reading through it. There was no real suspense and too much said. For example why Ellie or the guys did something, even when it was very obvious.

4.5/5 stars: I am a total fan of her other two Academy series. This story contains fantasy elements, has Japanese themes and is very different. The heroine is very likable and sweet, a little like Sang The two Academy series will always be my favorites, but who knows how this story will develop. I for one will continue reading it :)
All in all I am very happy to have purchased this book (of course I also really liked that I helped a good cause :) ). I got to know some great stories and authors this way.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this Fabulous collection of stories. All of the authors are so talented. I have read a book from most of them and one I have been a total book stalker (Rebecca Royce) I enjoyed the most of the storylines I read. The characters are fantastic and I am happy that the collection has something for everyone if you are into paranormal to contemporary to Sci-fi. I got to read new authors and enjoy them. I like to rate and review each story, but over all I give this collection five stars.

WOW! I really enjoy this story. It's awesome, this book is a part of a series that I have loved reading. If you are like me I absolutely loved reading Rebecca Royce. Her characters are magnificent and this story has all romance, action, twists and suspense you could want. It's well written and so fascinating. If you haven't read the other stories it's ok because they can each be read as a standalone but I can say you will be happy to read the others. Again I didn't want to stop reading!

This was my first time reading a story by this author, but it won't be my last. It's a great page turner, I couldn't stop reading this story. I really like when I can identify with the characters. There is suspense, romance and it feels so real. This was a very good book, but the author ended the story too quickly! First, I must admit that after finding myself half way through the book I had to put it down for second because I became so anxious that it was not going to end well. But the more I read it, I wanted to get to the end. I enjoyed this story, the characters. I'm glad I finish it, because the end is good.

I don't normally read sample because I always want to read the story right then and these two samples are a prime example. I would love to read both stories now. This is just enough to make you want to read them both.
This collection of books is great for the readers like myself. The interactions between the characters are priceless, and there are numerous surprises along the way. But wow, what a ride you will discovered new authors and read authors that you know already. The descriptions in this collection are awesome, and the characters are fascinating and funny. I laughed out loud a lot and it's well worth it Each story is real treat to read. I voluntarily reviewed this collection of books that was given to me without any obligation. I hope this collection is just as entertaining and a delightful read to other readers as it was to myself. it's a Fabulous collection for the price.

This was recommended to me by Amazon and I somehow didn't realize it was NA, a market I usually steer clear of, but since I enjoy a lot of reverse harem romance, I thought I'd give it a try.
If you are like me and read mostly adult romance with this trope, some of the reviewer concerns about this collection being "too steamy" will be laughable to you. I was actually really annoyed that a few of the better written stories were clearly serials since they just stopped just when the plot and relationships were getting interesting- super frustrating for a reader who usually waits until all books in a series are out before trying them, to avoid frustration. It was also of interest to me that several of these authors were brand new without much of a backlist, if any (and if they did, it was a different genre) but we're going to have a book or two come out in 2017. This is a good marketing ploy, then, to drum up interest, although I question that related books to the stories in this collection weren't available for pre-order. I read a lot and am not likely to check back to an author I only read in an anthology when Goodreads isn't prompting me a book I wanted to read came out, or amazon isn't simply delivering a sequel to my kindle app.
I'm enjoying the Rebecca Royce Wings of Artemis series which is what drew me to this anthology. I loved Paloma's story and am super cranky I have to wait for the second half (which will presumably include the consummation).
Four Clever Brothers is undoubtedly the story that brought on a fit of the vapors for readers unused to more explicit content. I hated the beginning, but was captivated after the initial fairy tale nonsense was over.
House of Glass felt very YA to me, probably due to the heroine's insecurities, but I loved the world building and would absolutely try the next in the series, particularly if the heat level would rise (that said, I liked the realistic relationships being built, I just would have preferred it in a single book, not dragged out over multiple volumes).
Another Move by RM Walker also surprised and impressed me with its English public school vibe and well-drawn primary and secondary characters. The whole fae/seer piece was an interesting and well done addition to the reverse harem idea, but naturally this was another story left hanging with inadequate information provided anywhere regarding future books and their publication dates.
One Greedy Fool was very unique with extremely interesting characters, but the author not only had difficulty with formatting, staying in the proper verb tense, and the occasional typo, but also committed the cardinal romance genre sin of showing one of the future love interests, Kiefer, the heroine's childhood friend, clearly having slept with another woma, no, they aren't together at this point, but - news flash - romance authors don't do this because readers get offended, and he was dead to me as a love interest. This amazing woman is right in front of you and you're not interested in winning her? You're dead to me. I won't be getting any sequels, particularly with zero heat in the first book, but kudos for having a great, and multicultural heroine. Bill this story as urban fantasy and not romance and you'll have happier readers, FYI.
The last story I thought was really worth reading (and was an actual entire story, thank you, albeit one with no romance) was The Favored by CL Stone. Set in a fantasy version of Japan, it had a very different type of heroine and a unique voice I enjoyed. Absolutely no heat between the heroine and the two men who end up supporting and protecting her on her rise from peasant to court advisor, but my assumption is that the open ended nature of the story allows for further installments as she begins to handle the machinations of the Imperial Court. The writing was so well done, I'm sure I will try the next in line, but once again, no series information or release dates from the author.
I found the other stories not well written or truly forgettable. The two "sample" stories simply pissed me off - the first was barely a chapter, had a sixteen year old heroine (heads up, that's YA not NA), and gave no hint of any reverse harem. The second was so overwritten it was almost incomprehensible for the first few pages, so why should I suffer? Especially for not even a complete story.
Verdict? I love indie authors and enjoy supporting them, but independent authors in particular need to be hyper aware of actively losing readers or damaging the trust of their potential audience when they:
1) Publish prequels or series starters with no sense of subsequent books on Amazon or Goodreads
2) Mislabel their market (under 18 characters still in secondary school are YA, not NA, so either make them older or change your romance ambitions); learn the difference between urban fantasy and romance - each has very different genre rules
3) There is no place for typos and formatting issues in a quality anthology
4) Save your incorrect genre-labeled samples for a website or make it a free download; don't clutter an anthology with content that has no obvious connection to your theme.

when i first saw the book i thought to myself :"this is my kind of book"!when i finally read it i realized i was right!i am looking forward to read the next book in every story!

Some authors I've stumbled upon before and some were completely new to me. But I liked what they did here and will check out their other works.
I hope there will be some follow up for these stories, because I got really hooked on some of them.
Raising the stakes by Autumn Reed and Julia Clarke
The story is about Emma, who goes to a club to celebrate passing her finals, where she meets three guys that turn out to be the co-owners of the club. She was sure that these strange separate encounters with them was the end of it, but the men clearly had other ideas.
Not really original, but it was nicely executed.

Meeting them by Rebecca Royce
Paloma was caught having sex and for that her father sent her to a sisterhood for five years and disowned her. There she saved the life of one of the McQueen brothers and for that they offered to help get her out of the sisterhood.
If you read 'The wings of Artemis' series, the event of this book take place some time later.
Loved the dynamic between the brothers and the characters' personalities in general.
Will definitely keep an eye out for the next book.

Finding Nora by Ripley Proserpina
So, all the stories here were supposed to be standalones or at least the first book in the series. But this one is actually a third(if I'm not mistaken) in already existent series.
Seeing as how I only read the first book in those series and was not to keen on continuing on, I did not read this one.
The Four Clever Brothers by Amy Sumida
A long time ago a man saved a mermaid and for that she granted him a wish. All he wanted was a happy family, so she promised him four sons who woul live forever and find a true love.
Now a Princess was abducted by a dragon and her hand in marriage was offered for her safe return home. Guess who'll get her back.
This was a cool one, different from what I've read before. And an actual standalone.
It's a fairy tale, with a seduction subtly woven into the story.

Caitlyn tried to win money for a school tuition taking part in illegal races. But her father - councilman- found out about it and send her to an Academy for future politicians, where she meets three guys who actually competed against her in the races, all also using aliases.
Together they will try to survive this hell they've been sent to.
Liked the story but it ended too abruptly. Feels like I didn't get enough time with the characters.

Lily Adair is used to moving to a new location every school year. She never regretted leaving anywhere, even looked forward to discovering new places. So why, when two day in the new school year her mother suggest moving again, all Lily could think about was not wanting to leave the four boys she just met?
The developing was good, with some great story lines that I would like to explore further.

The story starts with Evie being beaten up by five people. And no, it was not a random attack, it was a monthly occurrence, ordered by her father.
This one felt more like a big prologue before an actual story and it really got me hooked, so I'm looking forward for a continuation. Not much romance actually happened here, but there is still hope for the future.

Ellie comes to visit her grandma and three young men that live there, not realizing that they are actually her bears she befriended as a child. And that she's their mate.

Raising the stakes by Autumn Reed and Julia Clarke
The story is about Emma, who goes to a club to celebrate passing her finals, where she meets three guys that turn out to be the co-owners of the club. She was sure that these strange separate encounters with them was the end of it, but the men clearly had other ideas.
Not really original, but it was nicely executed.

Meeting them by Rebecca Royce
Paloma was caught having sex and for that her father sent her to a sisterhood for five years and disowned her. There she saved the life of one of the McQueen brothers and for that they offered to help get her out of the sisterhood.
If you read 'The wings of Artemis' series, the event of this book take place some time later.
Loved the dynamic between the brothers and the characters' personalities in general.
Will definitely keep an eye out for the next book.

Finding Nora by Ripley Proserpina
So, all the stories here were supposed to be standalones or at least the first book in the series. But this one is actually a third(if I'm not mistaken) in already existent series.
Seeing as how I only read the first book in those series and was not to keen on continuing on, I did not read this one.
The Four Clever Brothers by Amy Sumida
A long time ago a man saved a mermaid and for that she granted him a wish. All he wanted was a happy family, so she promised him four sons who woul live forever and find a true love.
Now a Princess was abducted by a dragon and her hand in marriage was offered for her safe return home. Guess who'll get her back.
This was a cool one, different from what I've read before. And an actual standalone.
It's a fairy tale, with a seduction subtly woven into the story.

Caitlyn tried to win money for a school tuition taking part in illegal races. But her father - councilman- found out about it and send her to an Academy for future politicians, where she meets three guys who actually competed against her in the races, all also using aliases.
Together they will try to survive this hell they've been sent to.
Liked the story but it ended too abruptly. Feels like I didn't get enough time with the characters.

Lily Adair is used to moving to a new location every school year. She never regretted leaving anywhere, even looked forward to discovering new places. So why, when two day in the new school year her mother suggest moving again, all Lily could think about was not wanting to leave the four boys she just met?
The developing was good, with some great story lines that I would like to explore further.

The story starts with Evie being beaten up by five people. And no, it was not a random attack, it was a monthly occurrence, ordered by her father.
This one felt more like a big prologue before an actual story and it really got me hooked, so I'm looking forward for a continuation. Not much romance actually happened here, but there is still hope for the future.

I really enjoyed this one because it contains more than one but several stories with the tables turned. many of the authors where new to me before I started but by the time I was finished I was glad to have read them. Another positive point for this is money will be raised for charity. One of the ones contained in here was a continuation on a series I was reading with in the sci-fi aspect which made for hot intrigue. Another one was a new to me with her character needing help , gets it but also gets found by many. Written different with curiosity dragging me along but also now waiting for the next one. Paranormal will be in this also with adding to my favorite tastes in reading with shifters no less. Fantasy will take you away with the magic to carry you with adventure and romance. All in all this was a most delight to read with most being my cup of yum.

To be honest I usually avoid short story collections like this. They frustrate me; you get a little tease, nothing truly satisfying. This one contained stories from several of my newly discovered authors and the proceeds go to charity, so I decided to make the exception. What a delight this anthology is. This is a collection by an amazing group of women specializing in the RH genre. In the past this genre has lacked depth and talented writers. Times have changed.
Autumn Reed and Julia Clarke, Rebecca Royce, Ripley Proserpina, Amy Sumida, Lyn Forester, R M Walker, A J Anders, GE Kelly, A S Oren, and C.L.Stone all contributed new stories to this book. I have read books by most of these authors, but it was a pleasure to be introduced to the remaining ones. These donated stories were every bit as compelling as their more familiar series. I am already anxiously awaiting follow-ups to these stories. Nikki Bolvair and Jane Washington both donated the first chapters from their wonderful books too. If you haven't read their books, I highly recommend them.
This book was an absolute treasure, the perfect way to lose yourself for a few days after the Holiday madness. I am so looking forward to continuing on with these stories in the future.

This was a fantastic book of short stories and samples of books from some amazing authors. All were "reverse harem" stories...some innocent and some not so innocent at all. But all enjoyable!
The he best part of this book was finding new authors to follow. Since reading this book, I've already read additional but oaks by at least five of the authors I wasn't familiar with and have thoroughly enjoyed their other books too. This was such a great idea. I just didn't want it to end! Thanks C. L.!!
The only issue I had with the book, I read the ebook edition, was that the designs on the first pages of the chapters were too dark and I couldn't even make out some of the words (depending on what the chapter design was). That was definitely distracting and quite unfortunate.

so I just read all of it... I really liked all the stories, ones more than others, but what suprised me were 2 things:
1- The Suoja Guild... man I need this, I need the nnext book, I'm so into it, it was so good, I cant even explain, so help me god till I can get the next one
2-C.L. Stone, dearest, do you know why I bought this book? because I couldn't wait for the neXT The Ghost Bird Series, but what did you do? made me attached and overly anxious for another serie!!! I don't know if I hate or love you right now, but damn, you so can write....
but OK, this was so worth being 48h inside my room reading non stop, if you are a harem reverse fan, go for it, it's amazing, really!

Great collection.
These are all RH stories and while they are novella length, they are soooo good! Only two (I believe) are stand alones so be prepared for that. This is the first time I have started an anthology from the beginning and went straight to the end. Every story held my attention. Can't wait for the next in the different series come out! I'll be preordering them all!!

Falling For Them is a short story collection, and I usually tend to avoid those, but when I heard that it was going to be a new adult reverse harem stories, I pre-ordered it at the same moment. I mean come on, NA REVERSE HAREM!
Although I did expect the stories to be standalone and full, which they were not, only one or two were. So I was somewhat disappointed by this, but overall I enjoyed most of them

I really liked how the story wasn't rushed and that we got to meet each guy separately, which made it easier to not get lost between them (if that makes sense?). Emma's character was endearing, strong and smart, definitely a great heroine. Overall, I enjoyed the story a lot.

The main heroine, Paloma, was sweet and unassuming, but in no way did it make her weak or unlikable. I loved her courage and strength, especially after all she's been through. When the guys were introduced, I instantly liked them, and even Tommy, who at first wasn't very warm towards Paloma, but later I totally fell for him. All in all, I will definitely be reading the next book in the series, and maybe the rest of Wings of Artemis series.

As I mentioned earlier, I expected a collection of short standalone novels here, but nonetheless, I enjoyed most stories in the book. However, Finding Nora turned out to be not even a beginning of a series or a new separate book in one, but a continuation of an already released book, Finding Honor. The fact that the author didn't even bother leaving a note explaining that, was really uncool. I left it unfinished for now, and I might finish it someday after I read Finding Honor.

So I finally read both, Finding Honor & Finding Nora, and I have to say that I liked the first book more. Finding Nora was okay, but it felt monotonous and I was bored quite a bit throughout the book, and I am not planning on reading the following book in the series, Finding Valor.

Dragons, castles, magic, eternal love. That's what you're getting yourself into, when you pick up this book. I, however, enjoyed it very much, even though I struggled at some points. The heroine was really strong and courageous, which made me instantly like her. The brothers were selfless and protective, and they were a great match with the princess. The story wasn't long, but the author did a great job of making it a standalone.

I need it like yesterday!!

Falling for Them is an anthology featuring 10 reverse harem original stories and 2 reverse harem novel samples. The stories are NA so the romance and sex scenes can get pretty explicit. I found some of the works included in the anthology more enjoyable than others, but overall this was a very entertaining anthology and it's great that the proceeds go to charity. It's difficult to review this book as a whole, so I've written mini reviews for each story instead below in the order that they appear in the book.
4.5 stars: Raising the Stakes - Autumn Reed & Julia Clarke
I really liked Emma, the main character, whose journalism background came in handy as she investigated the three swoon-worthy love interests who suspiciously all start pursuing her the same night when she meets them at a trendy club in Vegas. It was instant attraction, but the relationships took more work which I appreciated. I also appreciated that, while this story was short, it was complete; no cliff hanger ending here! But I wouldn't mind seeing more of Emma, Cole, Nicholas, and Shane should the authors choose to write another story! ;)

This story is set in the Wings of Artemis world but you don't need to have read any of the other books to understand this story (I should know...I haven't read any of the other Wings of Artemis books but I'm thinking I will now!). Paloma has had a pretty rough life - she was sent to a convent as a teen where she faced endless abuse - but it hasn't broken her. One day, Clay McQueen comes to warn the Sisters that they are in danger, but they send him away and as he's leaving he is almost killed by a falling rock, but Paloma saves him. Soon after, the worst happens and the convent is blown up but Paloma escapes and finds refuge with Clay and his brothers, Thomas, Quinn, and Keith. But the McQueen brothers are hiding a dangerous secret. This was another complete story, but set up for a sequel. One thing I found disappointing was that while Paloma was strong in that she never let circumstances keep her down, she was too passive and the guys were always riding in to save the day.
2.5 stars: Finding Nora - Ripley Proserpina
Nora is another unlucky character with a difficult life. This story has a very interesting premise. Nora was substitute teaching when one of her past foster brothers comes to the school and starts shooting, then kills himself. Nora saves her students but is injured and then becomes a major suspect. Though she was eventually cleared, she was vilified and now can't find anyone willing to hire her and many people are scared or suspicious of her though she was a victim. Luckily, she's got a great group of supportive guys in her life and it was great seeing the group's dynamics. I was frustrated though, because I felt like I was starting the story halfway in. Turns out, there is a first book where we see the shooting happen and how the guys come into her life, so maybe it's better to read that first. Nora was also in a really sketchy study and everything about it gave me bad vibes but Nora didn't seem as cautious or skeeved out as she should be. This story also didn't feel complete; I felt left hanging at the end which was disappointing.
4.5 Stars: The Four Clever Brothers - Amy Sumida
This was a fun story written in the style of a fairy tale. Adelysia is a princess of a small kingdom kidnapped by a dragon prince. I was frustrated at first because she doesn't put up a fight at all in the beginning, instead she figures she would have been married off to someone eventually with no choice so why put up a fight against this guy even though he repulses her? She does redeem herself and grow more of a backbone thank goodness, but after the four clever brothers use their magical mermaid gifts to save her from the dragons. The relationships between Adelysia and the brothers is great, but I also really liked the relationship between her and her parents. This was also a cliff-hanger free, complete story.
4 Stars: House of Glass - Lyn Forester
This was an interesting, futuristic story featuring Caitlyn Lonette, aka Sparks, who races disc-bikes against the wishes of her Councilman father. He sends her to the Academia for Planetary Alliance to follow in his footsteps, and the day she arrives at the school, she meets Blaze, Vice, and Rush, who turn out to be her biggest competitors from the disc-bike races. The guys' dynamics is great and Sparks fits in well, and quickly. The world is intriguing and though their is enough world-building for readers to understand the story and what's going on, I am curious to know more. While this is a complete story, the ending wasn't entirely satisfying for me and even though Sparks knew the guys before they interact at school, they were competitors that she didn't interact with outside of the races so I'm not entirely sold by how quickly the romance develops between them all at the school. Still, I was very entertained by the story and I look forward to reading the next Poisoned Houses story.

This book started out great, but ended on a cliff-hanger, which is a big pet peeve of mine. Lily's mom is an artist so they are constantly moving so her mom can find new inspiration and complete commissions. Also complicating matters is that Lily has seizures. This time, Lily's mom has a long-term painting project so Lily has a chance to put down some roots and make friends. Lily quickly captures the attention of Joshua, Jacob, Matt, and Nate and they pull her into their tight-knit group. There is plenty of intrigue as the guys have a secret, Lily's seizures may be more than they seem, and a mysterious man has sinister intentions towards Lily. All of this exciting stuff is revealed, however, near the very end and the resolution doesn't come until the next story. I've got a lot of questions about some of the information revealed that I feel could have been explained better or more in depth, but hopefully I will get some answers when the next installment is released.

This story had a lot of promise but failed in the execution. There were many editing errors and I found the world-building lacking. The story is set in the United States and Evie lives in an anti-Surmata (the Surmata are some kind of paranormal beings) resistance camp, which her cruel father leads. Evie hates the camp and doesn't believe in the resistance and is biding her time until she turns 18 and can escape. Her best friend, Max, is a half-Surmata spying on the camp. Through Max, she meets other Surmata but an encounter with a demon planned by her father and Dominic, a leader in the camp who wants her, causes her to lose all memory of her Surmata friends. The story ends with a disappointing cliff-hanger. I was really interested in the story, but was distracted by errors in the writing and found myself with too many questions.

This story features Ellie and the three shape-shifting bears she befriended as a toddler and comes to love as men. While the premise was very interesting, this was another story that didn't meet the mark for me. The writing and dialogue didn't always flow well and I found Ellie annoying at times. One good note is that the story is complete and doesn't have a cliff-hanger!

This story also features the paranormal, which I enjoyed. Sincerity, or Hope as she prefers, is another strong character making the best of some tough circumstances. At the beginning of the story we learn that she is homeless and interning for a P.I. because she'd like to become a P.I. herself and find her parents. Soon she gets a night shift working at a prison guarding none other than the seven deadly sins. Talk about interesting! I appreciate how strong Hope is and how she doesn't mope around and feel sorry for herself and act passively, instead she works to change things. The story is also really original. Still, I had a lot of questions revolving around this world that the author created and was confused about many things. There were also some editing/formatting issues that I found distracting.

This story seems to be set in an Asian alternate world with magical elements. The old emperor died and there is a big selection process being held in the Immortal City to pick who will be advisers to the new emperor. Mizuki, the main character, is eligible to go and try for the position. With the help of Ryuu, an old classmate and another candidate, Mrs. Satsu, her sponsor, and Sota, her escort, Mizuki travels to the Immortal City and prepares for the selection process. I liked the characters, the world, and the elements of intrigue. This story, of all of the stories in the anthology, is the lightest on romance. This story is complete and ends with the conclusion of the selection process, but is set up for another story. I personally would like to know what happens next!

It was instant attraction, but the relationships took more work which I appreciated. I also appreciated that, while this story was short, it was complete; no cliff hanger ending here! But I wouldn't mind seeing more of Emma, Cole, Nicholas, and Shane should the authors choose to write another story! ;)
3.5 stars: Meeting Them - Rebecca Royce
This story is set in the Wings of Artemis world but you don't need to have read any of the other books to understand this story (I should know...I haven't read any of the other Wings of Artemis books but I'm thinking I will now!). Paloma has had a pretty rough life - she was sent to a convent as a teen where she faced endless abuse - but it hasn't broken her. One day, Clay McQueen comes to warn the Sisters that they are in danger, but they send him away and as he's leaving he is almost killed by a falling rock, but Paloma saves him. Soon after, the worst happens and the convent is blown up but Paloma escapes and finds refuge with Clay and his brothers, Thomas, Quinn, and Keith. But the McQueen brothers are hiding a dangerous secret. This was another complete story, but set up for a sequel. One thing I found disappointing was that while Paloma was strong in that she never let circumstances keep her down, she was too passive and the guys were always riding in to save the day.
2.5 stars: Finding Nora - Ripley Proserpina
Nora is another unlucky character with a difficult life. This story has a very interesting premise. Nora was substitute teaching when one of her past foster brothers comes to the school and starts shooting, then kills himself. Nora saves her students but is injured and then becomes a major suspect. Though she was eventually cleared, she was vilified and now can't find anyone willing to hire her and many people are scared or suspicious of her though she was a victim. Luckily, she's got a great group of supportive guys in her life and it was great seeing the group's dynamics. I was frustrated though, because I felt like I was starting the story halfway in. Turns out, there is a first book where we see the shooting happen and how the guys come into her life, so maybe it's better to read that first. Nora was also in a really sketchy study and everything about it gave me bad vibes but Nora didn't seem as cautious or skeeved out as she should be. This story also didn't feel complete; I felt left hanging at the end which was disappointing.
4.5 Stars: The Four Clever Brothers - Amy Sumida
This was a fun story written in the style of a fairy tale. Adelysia is a princess of a small kingdom kidnapped by a dragon prince. I was frustrated at first because she doesn't put up a fight at all in the beginning, instead she figures she would have been married off to someone eventually with no choice so why put up a fight against this guy even though he repulses her? She does redeem herself and grow more of a backbone thank goodness, but after the four clever brothers use their magical mermaid gifts to save her from the dragons. The relationships between Adelysia and the brothers is great, but I also really liked the relationship between her and her parents. This was also a cliff-hanger free, complete story.
4 Stars: House of Glass - Lyn Forester
This was an interesting, futuristic story featuring Caitlyn Lonette, aka Sparks, who races disc-bikes against the wishes of her Councilman father. He sends her to the Academia for Planetary Alliance to follow in his footsteps, and the day she arrives at the school, she meets Blaze, Vice, and Rush, who turn out to be her biggest competitors from the disc-bike races. The guys' dynamics is great and Sparks fits in well, and quickly. The world is intriguing and though their is enough world-building for readers to understand the story and what's going on, I am curious to know more. While this is a complete story, the ending wasn't entirely satisfying for me and even though Sparks knew the guys before they interact at school, they were competitors that she didn't interact with outside of the races so I'm not entirely sold by how quickly the romance develops between them all at the school. Still, I was very entertained by the story and I look forward to reading the next Poisoned Houses story.
3.5 Stars: Another Move - RM Walker
This book started out great, but ended on a cliff-hanger, which is a big pet peeve of mine. Lily's mom is an artist so they are constantly moving so her mom can find new inspiration and complete commissions. Also complicating matters is that Lily has seizures. This time, Lily's mom has a long-term painting project so Lily has a chance to put down some roots and make friends. Lily quickly captures the attention of Joshua, Jacob, Matt, and Nate and they pull her into their tight-knit group. There is plenty of intrigue as the guys have a secret, Lily's seizures may be more than they seem, and a mysterious man has sinister intentions towards Lily. All of this exciting stuff is revealed, however, near the very end and the resolution doesn't come until the next story. I've got a lot of questions about some of the information revealed that I feel could have been explained better or more in depth, but hopefully I will get some answers when the next installment is released.
2.5 stars: Precursor - AJ Anders
This story had a lot of promise but failed in the execution. There were many editing errors and I found the world-building lacking. The story is set in the United States and Evie lives in an anti-Surmata (the Surmata are some kind of paranormal beings) resistance camp, which her cruel father leads. Evie hates the camp and doesn't believe in the resistance and is biding her time until she turns 18 and can escape. Her best friend, Max, is a half-Surmata spying on the camp. Through Max, she meets other Surmata but an encounter with a demon planned by her father and Dominic, a leader in the camp who wants her, causes her to lose all memory of her Surmata friends. The story ends with a disappointing cliff-hanger. I was really interested in the story, but was distracted by errors in the writing and found myself with too many questions.
2.5 Stars: Ellie's Bears - G.E. Kelly
This story features Ellie and the three shape-shifting bears she befriended as a toddler and comes to love as men. While the premise was very interesting, this was another story that didn't meet the mark for me. The writing and dialogue didn't always flow well and I found Ellie annoying at times. One good note is that the story is complete and doesn't have a cliff-hanger!
3 Stars: One Greedy Fool - AS Oren
This story also features the paranormal, which I enjoyed. Sincerity, or Hope as she prefers, is another strong character making the best of some tough circumstances. At the beginning of the story we learn that she is homeless and interning for a P.I. because she'd like to become a P.I. herself and find her parents. Soon she gets a night shift working at a prison guarding none other than the seven deadly sins. Talk about interesting! I appreciate how strong Hope is and how she doesn't mope around and feel sorry for herself and act passively, instead she works to change things. The story is also really original. Still, I had a lot of questions revolving around this world that the author created and was confused about many things. There were also some editing/formatting issues that I found distracting.
4 Stars: Favored - C.L. Stone
This story seems to be set in an Asian alternate world with magical elements. The old emperor died and there is a big selection process being held in the Immortal City to pick who will be advisers to the new emperor. Mizuki, the main character, is eligible to go and try for the position. With the help of Ryuu, an old classmate and another candidate, Mrs. Satsu, her sponsor, and Sota, her escort, Mizuki travels to the Immortal City and prepares for the selection process. I liked the characters, the world, and the elements of intrigue. This story, of all of the stories in the anthology, is the lightest on romance. This story is complete and ends with the conclusion of the selection process, but is set up for another story. I personally would like to know what happens next!

Four Clever Brothers By: Amy Sumida
Four fairytale heros come together to rescue a princess from a dragon and to steal her heart. I really enjoyed this one from start to finish. It was vivid and burning with passion. HEA ending. Heat level: 5 overall 4 1/2.

Sci-fi/future setting with street racing, quirky characters. This one is on the young side of new adult, about a girl and the three guys that want her attention. There are plenty of laugh out loud as well as steamy seductive moments. This one has an open ending to be continued, but it's got enough closure you don't feel cheated. Heat level: 3 overall 4.

Magic, witches and fae with interesting and engaging characters. This is one that's on the young side of new adult as well. You have a girl and the four boys that want her and a mystery element. This one had my attention right from the start. I'm not usually one for continuing serial type stories, but this one I would make an exception for. Heat level: 2 overall: 4 1/2.

I have to say that the story is well written and has lots of action
Rebecca Royce never disappoints us and always gives us amazing stories to read and amazing worlds.
This story though i have to say that i don't think that it works as a short story....
It felt short and it left us wanting more and it left us with lots of info about their pasts but not much of their current situation...
I needed more simple as that and thats the only reason that this story gets 4 stars.
It could have been better cause it needed space to grow and be a book of its own.
Still its an awesome start to her new series of reverse harem!

It's several stories by different authors. House of Glass was my favourite. It introduced me to a world I want to read more about and an author I was unfamiliar with. I also liked the story by the wings of Artemis author. I was expecting something different from C.L. stone than the story she placed in this book so I think I judged it to harshly. it was interesting. I didn't like the four clever brothers. I just didn't like the princess I think. Ellie and the bears also was not as good as it could have been. I skipped some stories completely if I couldn't connect with the characters in the first few pages.

This was a great compilation of novellas and kept me entertained for hours. I loved the different types of stories that were put into the anthology and how each author approached RH in completely different ways. Some were my absolute favorites, others felt a little too cliffy for me but that only helps to get me pumped for their continuation of the series. I'm definitely keeping an eye out for their future works. Good job, ladies!!

A fun read
The first couple of stories were great, and I loved Stone's contribution. I'll be looking for more from her on that one. The rest were good, some clearly better than others. There were a few small editing errors but nothing that ruined it for me. Overall I'd recommend this to any RH fan for sure!

Falling for them
Sometimes it's hard to este a collection because you may like some stories and others not so much.
This collection I really liked! All the stories were easy to read and to fall im love with the characters.
I totally recommend it!

I really enjoyed reading this book! It wasn't exactly what I expected, I thought there would be fewer, longer stories but I loved it none the less and found several new series to start reading :)

April 11, 2018I haven't finished reading this book yet (there are a lot of varying stories in here), but from as far as I can see, this book is consisted in a collection of preludes. Some stories has not reach a reverse harem point yet, though I believe they might be in the followed up of their individual series.

I am not usually a fan or short stories because they get you hooked and never seem to finish with enough info or back stories. not the case with these! i loved most of them there was a few that werent my style but they were still well written and had a good flow.

This was a mixed bag. I liked Lyn Forester's Poisoned Houses series, AJ Anders, G E Kelly's 7 deadly sins series and Rebecca Royce's Tradition be damned series were my favourites.
