I am a fan of RC Boldt’s writing but I had not read this series. So many great characters in this series. Four couples that each have their own baggage but are the best of friends. I would love to be in this circle of friends. RC Boldt did a fantastic job of building these characters. They all have unique characteristics but fit together so well. A great combination of teachers and former military. There’s more to the series but this is a great starter pack.
Well written and funny, it had me crying a number of times as well as laugh out loud. Simply charming. Very few authors can combine intelligent, witty writing with some pretty steamy sex-tions ! (Pun intended)
SERIOUSLY, this has to be one of my favorite series I've ever read!!! Raine, Mac, Laney, Zack (hey that rhymes), Tate, Miller, Lawson, and Langley are some freaking amazing people!!! And I think you should totally stop what you're DOING and read these four books... because, AMAZINGGGGG!!!
This is a very good best friends to lovers book. Now, I read Out of Love and Out of Ashes before reading this one. After reading Out of Love, I had to go back and start this series. I did buy the box set, but I still leave individual reviews for each book.
I loved the banter between Mac and Raine.
Raine can be odd sometimes, but it's a good odd. She's just silly. The dates she had were hilariously sad. I was honestly laughing especially at the mastication/masturbation date.
Mac was a SEAL. He was injured but after meeting Momma K when he was in the hospital, she talked him into moving to their town. He's now a teacher at the same school as Raine.
The become fast friends, the best of friends. I loved their whole group of friends. They have so much fun together.
The reason for the 4 stars is because it was very predictable. I still really enjoyed reading it, I just wish I would have been surprised by parts.
Hard to Handle (book 2) - 4 stars
This is a very good second book to this series. I love this group of friends. They are so fun to read about.
Zach and Laney aren't really friends, they tolerate each other on good days. Zach has always been a jerk to Laney. Since their first meeting eight years ago.
We do find out the reason for it, and it's not why Laney thinks, that's for sure.
This is basically an enemy to lovers book. For once it's not the guy that has commitment issues. That's all Laney. She does have her reasons, but it's a copout really.
As always, I absolutely love Momma K.
Remember When (book 3) - 4 stars
This is the third book in the Teach Me series. I do recommend that you read them in order because we actually do meet Tate and Miller in the previous books. If you do read this as a stand alone, you won't see all the barbs they threw at each other in the previous books. I have wanted to read to read their story since their first "meeting" in the first book.
Tate and Miller were highschool sweethearts. They made it through their first year of college and both wanted to go the long haul.
Miller left to join the Navy, then become a SEAL. Tate was going to wait for him. She wrote him a lot, but only got returned letters.
Now I'm not going to say what happened. But there were others playing a part in it.
Neither stopped loving the other.
The thing that got me though, is they waited over a year before they finally called truce for the sake of their friends and then they finally hashed everything out. If you missed this person for ten years, and they're finally back around, why wait so long.
These are good reads, the characters, the whole group of friends are great and really funny.
There was a part in the Note from the author that had me giggle and roll my eyes because I understand it way too much. All the relocations, good and bad, due to the Navy.
Laws of Attraction (book 4) - 4 Stars
This is a good fourth book and it ties both series together great. I read the two Out Of books before reading this series. I went and looked and saw that these books are out already and had to read them. I'm glad that I did.
Lawson and Kane are my favorites. The humor is great. Lawson is a great guy and I can't wait to get Kane's book.
Langley is a former PJ for the Air Force, while Lawson is a teacher.
Being the only female in the special forces unit, had been hard for her. Especially when just about every male wanted her out of it. They didn't think she belonged and one of those men would do anything to get her out. And he did. She has some major issues with trust and leaning on people for support.
Lawson's granny had me cracking up. She is so funny.
