As an author who has been both traditionally and independently published, this guide is spot on! Stevens covers everything, from setting up your writing template to getting your work translated into multiple languages. And don't think this guide is only for those who self-publish. There's valuable information for all types of authors. Highly recommended.

The author does not deal with writing styles, not displaying your creative side as a writer, or anything like that, but explains in detail how to achieve all the steps to publish your book. She generously shares all her experience, as she has gone through this process several times and knows very concretely what is needed and how to do it.
It is a book that guides you step by step, very clearly and concisely, from configuring the template in Word, describes even how to go through the procedures for Copyright, ISBN and the barcodes; font licensing and the cover art, options for a professional editing, the different types of chapter headings, ebook and print book formating, also tips for self-publishing like audiobook and translations of your book, and how to handle taxes.
I think it's a very complete and super useful book when you are new to this business, to have a comprehensive and clear picture of the steps and requirements to realize publish a book on Amazon, Smashwords, etc. Advice on the procedures are focused on US residents, but does not elaborate on state regulations.
My gratitude to the Publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to review the book

Have you thought about writing a book but the process to publishing became daunting, time consuming, confusing, and a tad scary? Or have you submitted your manuscript all over the publishing world and no one will give you and your book a chance? Well, E.J. Stevens is here to share her secrets to self-publishing. No need to sign a contract with a big publishing house (not that there is anything wrong with those large companies) when you can become an indie author and do it all yourself.

Please note that the author does not give writing, editing, or marketing advice in this book. This book is for those who have a completed novel and are ready to publish. Of course, you could have this on hand prior to completing your manuscript but this is for publishing said manuscript.

The guide is arranged strategically and is well organized. I've wanted to write a book for a long time, in fact, I have about six manuscripts started, but I'm a full time employee and part time college student, with family (I know, everyone is busy...it's not just me) and I just can't seem to sit down and make time to write. However, this guide contains practical knowledge and a complete do-it-yourself set of instructions that got me excited to start writing again. The publishing world seems daunting, and it is whether your traditionally published or an indie, but for the first time, I feel like publishing is doable. Thank you E.J. Stevens. Your wisdom and advice, plus a step-by-step guide, will make things so much easier for anyone trying to navigate through the world of publishing.
