An AMAZING COMPREHENSIVE “crash course” in TV series development
This book was so amazing, and it is a perfect complement to the two or three other books I have on writing for TV and developing TV series. Pena and Zizza give an excellent, straightforward, and no fluff step-by-step approach to developing a pitch, a proposal, and a fully fleshed out series Bible for your TV series idea. The example that they use throughout the book remains consistent, and is a really incredible concept. They give you a walk-through of how they develop this concept on all three levels of TV series development. I would highly recommend this resource to any TV writer, whether you’re planning to work for a bigger network or studio, or whether you plan on shooting your own independent TV series. I love this book!!!
Quick read. Some aspects are useful for novelists as well, but the way the material was presented didn't always make for pleasant reading. There's a lot of repeat in the series bible the authors created.
