Interview with the Bad Boy

Rate this book
Good girl meets very bad boy...

When I'm assigned to write about the football team's winning streak for our college's paper, I can't believe it. I want to write about hard hitting, thought provoking topics, not interview the biggest manwhore on campus.

And Cole James truly is an asshole, but he's also so damn sexy that it curls my toes. And there's more, something beneath the arrogant facade he presents to the world, something that calls to me, makes me ache. Makes me want to soothe his pain, kiss it all away.

Yes, he's an asshole but I have issues too. We might be each other's saviors... if we don't break each other first.

***Interview with the Bad Boy is a standalone bad-boy romance with a little bit of football and a whole lot of sexy steam. No cliffhanger and a very happy ending. Get your copy now! Scroll up to 1-click this bad boy! ***

USA Today bestselling author Rylee Swann is often found in her writing cave, located in a small purple office in a large old Victorian house in Upstate New York. Here she battles with mammoth spiders, works at her hectic marketing manager job, and enjoys the company of the strong, confident, sexy characters she writes about in her romance books.

Amid all that, she also makes time to snuggle with her two cats, who couldn't care less about the spiders. Much to her chagrin.

"I feel it like magic"

"I’m captivated. There’s a fire and rage in the man that scares me, but I can’t look away. I feel it like magic, like the force of the moon on the tides. I’m drawn in, drowning. I feel so small and lost, withering under the heat that comes from his gaze." - Becca
Well sports fans...it is that time of year again when our attention is drawn to football...but for the avid lover of hot, a little dark and a lot dirty romance, any time of year is a good time for a smoking' hot, slightly damaged, super intense football player. Our man Cole in this story checks all those boxes and more. He is a bad, bad boy with a body made for sin, coal black hair and blue eyes like beacons. His counterpart Becca is beautiful herself but more than this she is determined to become an accomplished and principled journalist. The setting is the campus of Syracuse University and both our main characters are living in the bubble of campus life as students...Cole is the talented star quarterback with a manwhore, hard partying reputation while Becca is tasked with interviewing him by her ex-boyfriend editor for the school newspaper. Both of these characters have so much on the line. Cole has NFL prospects if he can keep his nose clean. Becca wants to desperately retain her professionalism at all times while completing this interview assignment...Excellent romantic tension!!!
This is the second book by Ms. Swann and it is because of her stellar effort at her first ever published book that I was certain to read this book. I was delighted with the read.
This author writes in a smooth relatable style. There is decent character development for the short read of a snapshot in time when these two lovers meet.
These characters come fleshed out with issues of which the reader can understand the genesis from their respective pasts, as well as, appreciate the author's resolution of these issues within the telling of Cole and Becca's story.
The erotic writing is heart pounding, saliva inducing and oh to add the cliché of panty melting because it just is soooo true.
The words keep the reader present without any distraction or jarring incredulity. This writer knows how to write the dirty and darker. Simply delectable!!!
This is a great read for the lover of collegiate football or more accurately, the lover of the football player. This is especially true of the Dominating and controlled, a little dangerous quarterback who has magic in his eyes for that one special woman...and the woman who his willing to face her own demons for a chance to experience the promises of that magic in his eyes. Catch a little of this real magic yourself with a one click of this book.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Interview with the Bad Boy is the second Rylee Swann book I have read. This book is better than the other one but I still felt that it needed more to it than sex. I am starting to realize that her books rely very heavily on sex and not enough on plot. I'm not a prude but I like my books to have more plot to it. It seemed that every chapter had to have at least one wam bam thank you ma'am in it.

The characters were more flushed out in this one. I found myself smiling at parts but I wasn't really connected to the characters. I appreciated that there was banter between the two main characters and I enjoyed seeing how the story unfolded but there was just something missing.

The one thing that did frustrate me again with many romance authors is using rape or sexual assault as just another way to further the plot line. Please authors, learn that there are other ways to further your plot.

I do feel that this book need a better editor. I found a few mistakes while reading that stood out a little too much.

All in all, Rylee is showing growth as a writer.

Extra Extra Read All About It

Cole and Becca are tearin’ it up and burnin’ it down with incredibly sexy and steamy HEA! Becca is a hard hitting  journalist with a passion for current events and a yearn to make her editorial dreams come true. Too bad her ex is also her editor and has decided that he wants to make his displeasure at being dumped known by giving her fluff pieces. The latest is a gripping expose on the football teams winning streak and their amazing stats- blah blah blah. Nothing against sports buts that's not her beat! Determined to make the best of it she decides her angle will be the elusive QB - apparently his stats are amazing and he is known to be be reticent. Cole James turns out to not only be a private person, but a jerk and a little dangerous. He immediately insults her, picks a fight with some guy, and then propositions her - all in all he is quite the bad boy! Cole can tell from the moment Becca walks in she is a Grade-A good girl. From her sweet little sweater to her kind eyes - she is the type of woman you fall for. He has been down that road before only to be burned very thoroughly and now the emotions she evokes kind of grind his gears. He cannot deny the attraction to the brainy beauty but wants to steer well clear. But when quid pro quo will get them what they both want and need it is just too tempting to let her walk away.

Whilst, overall this is not a bad storyline, there were a few aspects that I wasn't happy with.
First one is the 'BDSM' aspect. There was no discussion. He didn't find out if she would be comfortable with it, he just went ahead without any consent.
The next thing that bothered me was the possible use of a date rape drug. This just seemed to be thrown in to expand the plot with no real follow up afterwards. The end of the story briefly mentioned it, but I felt it was more an afterthought than anything else. I also was surprised, given what Becca had just been through, that her evening ended in the way it did. I found this a bit unbelievable. Date rape is a topic that should be covered properly, not just thrown into a storyline for the sake of it. This is not a topic I like to see being used in this manner.
Finally, I picked up on some typos and consistency errors, that should really have been caught in the editing phase.
I was given a copy by the author in exchange for a fair review

I voluntarily read an arc of this book for a fair and honest review. Because is a reporter for her college newspaper. Her dream career is to be an investigated journalist. She has recently dumped her editor boyfriend and as a result Becca finds herself only getting fluff pieces of or the college paper. As a cruel joke, because Becca has little to no interest in college sports, her ex assigns her to do a piece on the quarterback Cole James. When she finds out that Cole frequents a dive bar on the outskirts of Syracuse, she decides to track him down there. Meanwhile, an almost wasted Cole is sitting in the bar getting ready to choose "the skank du jour" when Becca approaches him and totally blindsides him. Another bar patron, thinking Cole is bothering Becca and butts his way into their space. As fad as drunken Cole goes, beating someone up is just as satisfying as getting laid. After Cole is thrown out of the bar, Becca follows him. Cole is a mean drunk. He wants to bait Becca into. A confrontation and she knows this but takes the bait anyway. Cole has a swagger and an ability to make significant eye contact which give Becca the chills. She's very sexually aware of him. Cole figures Becca is like all of the other girls. He tells her to give him a BJ...she rises to the bait and tells him he should dine on her first. Just as she's getting out of his car he stops her. She challenges him to tell her what her name is and damn if he doesn't remember. Uh oh. Something happens to them over the next few minutes. It's like Cole has sobered up and tells Becca they don't have to go tit for tat. Surprisingly, Becca wants to. Cole keeps reiterating that Becca is a good girl. At first he sneered it but now he believes it. When Cole wakes up the next morning he realizes that it is something he hasn't done since his ex. Cole hates himself for it and leave her a note to let herself out and he slips out to the gym. When Becca returns to Cole's house, later in the day she tells him she needs to interview him for the school paper. What comes out of Cole's mouth are hateful accusations and put downs that he regrets as soon as they leave his lips. There's no place for a woman in his life. Woman want what he can give them, women can't be trusted and most of all women make you week. Tonight's game night and the last thing he needs is Becca. He hates that she's stuck in his head, afraid that she might actually "get him." No thanks. Cole finds out that he is failing history and may be put on academic suspicion. His professor gives him names of some tutors who may be able to help him. But all Cole can seems to be doings is thinking, dreaming and dining on Becca. Surprisingly, Becca receives a text from Cole that he is willing to do the article. Cole and Becca are both simmering pots of hot water. Move the dial up a bit and the pot begins to rapidly boil. I think they hate how much they need each other. Becca has dreamed of being dominated. Cole could just be her dream come true. Just as Becca and Cole begin to think they can have something together, Becca finds Cole's stash of steroids. She now understands his fits of rage. Because of Becca' s past, having a dead junkie for a father..Becca runs. She informs her ex Rob that Cole is unwilling to do a story and hopes this is the end of it. Cole realizes Becca now knows his secret, screw her, he doesn't need her. Anyone else can take her place. In her grief she now knows she can not write the story about Cole. She does however journal her findings on her computer. After call her ex to tell him the story is a no go Rob shows up at her apartment. He makes her a cup of tea and Becca is out for the count. Four hours later she wakes to find Rob still in her apartment cleaning up...in a very nonchalant way Rob memtions that Becca should change her computer password. The next day there is a story with no by-line accusing Cole of doping and questioning if it was steroids that led the school's team to victory. Becca shows up at Coles house to apologize...they introduce a bit of BDSM into their sex life and Becca confesses to Cole what Rob has done. Cole doesn't tell Becca that it has been months since he used. Becca is also waiting on a blood test to come back from the hospital that will either prove or disprove Rob drugged her, that's all I'm telling you. It's a bit darker than Ms. Swann's previous books, but I pretty much inhaled this story.

In A Dream🌈

ARC received for an honest review.
Becca💋💔 is a good girl going to college, minding her own business. She's a reporter for the school paper as well as a good student. She has vivid daydreams about a strong, alpha man spanking✋✋ Her as part of foreplay. Where did that come from!? YEHAW!
Her ex, Rob, is boring in bed and boring in life, but he's still the editor of the paper, so she has to work with him. When he assigns her to do a story about the 🏈football team, she is exasperated. She doesn't know anything about 🏈football.

Becca💋💔 decides to interview Cole James🐺🍌🌋🔥, the Captain and quarterback of the team. It's well known on campus he's a womanizing playboy🐺🍌🌋🔥 and Becca💋💔 wants to see for herself!

She finds Cole🐺🍌🌋🔥 boozing it up in a dive 🍸bar, surrounded by coed groupies. When he sees her, he is pretty drunk🍸, but he knows she's a good 👧girl, and he doesn't do good 👧girls. Cole🐺🍌🌋🔥 has this mindset that he's a bad boy🔥 and so he only does bad girls. He's a mean drunk, too. He likes to drink🍸 and get into fights to let off steam.

Here I began to have a problem with the author's portrayal of Cole. Cole🐺🍌🌋🔥⚓ is portrayed as an experienced womanizer, experienced well beyond his years. He has the sexual experience🍌🌋 and attitude of a man in his late 20s or early 30s and he's supposed to be 21 at most.

Becca💋💔 looks at Cole and sees a sex God🐺🍌🌋. She sees a tall, handsome, ripped💪, tatted⚓ up bad boy🐺🍌🌋🔥 sex toy. Maybe He's not her type, but she really, really wants to find out!
Git yer spurs on little gal!
YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍌, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎

I really liked this book, there is a lot of story here with strong characters. It's well worth the time and I recommend it to all erotic romance lovers. Lots of xxx scenes between Becca💋 and Cole🐺🍌🌋, so it's definitely an adults only novel.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and I have to say WOW! Holy heat factor!!

This satisfying book is sexually charged and pretty dang erotic from the very first word. I couldnt put it down until I had finished it, cover to cover! In addition to how fun all the sexy parts are, and they are SO fun, the story itself is relatable, well written, fast paced, and engaging as hell. I was pulled in, and I loved every moment!

Becca, the female protagonist, was an aspiring journalist with trust issues and an idiot ex as a boss. After she dumps him, in retaliation, he assigns her shallow stories that dont showcase her talents. One such story is how she meets Cole, the quarterback leading the team on their new and recent winning streak; and who never grants interviews.

Cole, our damaged bad boy male lead, had pretty deeply ingrained demons of his own to wrestle with off the football field. When his grades slip he makes a deal with Becca; tudoring for that interview he declined.

These characters were beautifully flawed on their own, but together. Together they were perfect. Their chemistry was undeniable and combustible.

I really enjoyed this book and I believe you will, too. I do have to give a possible trigger warning, though. There is a scene where one of the characters is drugged by another and is briefly concerned about a potential rape. Staged photos are taken while the character is unconscious.

rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. i really enjoyed this book. we meet becca, a journalist for the school newspaper who was just assigned an article about the football team by her ex boyfriend and boss....ugh..becca doesnt know the first thing about football but she will do the article. she googles the QB and my oh my she is immediately smitten with the gorgeous jock and decided to do an interview about him. cole, cocky, arrogant uni QB has a reputation. while he downs the hard liquor in his hand, he patiently waits for blonde across the room to make her move when a beautiful brunette wearing a grandma sweater catches his attention, which she shouldnt. they both like verbally sparring with one another until one thing leads to another in his car. becca knows she shouldnt...shes a good girl and has worked hard to overcome her past but she wants Cole. a one night stand turns into repeated thoughts about the other and cole decides to keep having her while she helps in in his classes...a win-win...becca will get her story and he will pass. after a passionate encounter, becca finds vials and syringes in cole's bathroom...and horrible memories come back to her and she bolts. will becca be able to get past the hurt and help cole? will cole explain it to becca or will he just bail on his life? what will happen for becca and cole when beccas ex does the unthinkable?

Wow - hottest first chapter I think I ever read!

This book just had a WOW factor for me. From the first chapter to the end - the book had so much in the way of storyline. Becca is gorgeous and loving and kind and smart and still pretty innocent about nasty people and she's also a little/lot kinky. Cole is an alpha male, hugely talented at sport, angry and afraid about not performing well, but also smart and sexy and loving the kinky. The editor/boyfriend is creepy from the start and stays that way right through the scary part and sort of gets his comeuppance. While we might all wish it would have been a greater punishment I think Rylee has truly captured what would happen in reality within the justice system at present. The information on functional illiteracy was very well interwoven into the book and lets us see how Cole's past has impacted on his present and how that impact also affected Becca. This was a really great read - hot in parts, thought provoking in parts and a jolly well written tale. I was privileged to receive an ARC and I am willingly and honestly reviewing it here.

Good Girl Meets Bad Boy
Becca and Cole will definitely heat up your kindle!

Becca is a good girl. She works hard at school. She is pursuing a career in journalism and works at the school paper. She does all the right things, stays out of trouble and keeps to herself.
Cole is a man-whoring, partying, out of control quarterback for his college football team. He's been on a game winning streak but his life is spiraling out of control. Too much partying and he's flunking out of school.

Becca gets an assignment to interview the quarterback Cole James. They meet and sparks fly. Holy hell do things get smoking HOT! Their attraction is off the charts!

Neither wants a relationship because they have both been burned. Lines are blurred but these two can't stay away. Just when it looks like they will get their HEA, the past comes and ruins it.

She's the good girl, he's the bad boy. The story is angsty in parts, gets you heated in others. These two need to work through their past in order to get to their future.

I loved Cole and Becca's story. Everyone needs a Cole in the bedroom! Enjoy.

Becca was student writing for the college newspaper. She had an relationship with the man in charge of the paper and had ended it. He wasn’t happy with the break up so he was giving her puff pieces to write when all she wanted to do was investigative reporting. He gave an assignment to get an interview with the football quarterback. Cole is a senior from a ruler Tennessee town. Becca and Cole have an instant connection that pulls them together. Can Becca keep her integrity in reporting on him? Can Cole forget about Becca like all his one night stands? This book is filled with demons from the past for both of them, lust, sexy scenes, interference, revenge, twist, and love. Can Cole and Becca withstand all the personal problems? Can they fight the interference?
Baylee took her story line and touched on modern day problems. Then she took her amazing writing skills and built the characters to intertwine with the plot. I couldn’t put the book down until I had read it all. I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

A terrific second book by Rylee Swann. This is the story of Becca, a rather staid college student working for the school paper. Her editor, and ex-boyfriend, Rob, assigns her a piece on the football team to coincide with homecoming weekend. Becca neither knows nor cares anything about football but she comes up with the idea to do a feature interview with the star quarterback of the team. Enter Cole James, cocky QB extraordinaire with a tendency towards violence and anger issues. Becca not-so-accidentally runs into him at a bar one night and eventually asks for an interview, which Cole refuses. But then he reconsiders and they make a deal. To find out what that deal is and how it and the rest of the story plays out, grab Interview with the Bad Boy for yourself. This book has many sexytimes scenes and if you like angsty, fractious relationships between the characters, you'll love Interview with the Bad Boy

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and have also voluntarily decided to review.

Sometime you find the word alpha on a cover but not one in the book. In this story, it’s the opposite : this bad boy is a total alpha.
Becca is in college studying journalism and working at the college’s newpaper. Her ex boyfriend and director, ask her to interview a quarterback. She doesn’t know anything in football and she undertands that it’s a way to punish her.
Cole is the quarterback and when they meet, it’s hot as hell. They had hard past, so they don’t really know how to react to their relation. They have other problems (I can’t say more to not spoil everyone). It’s a short story, it's not uneventful at all.
I really liked the characters, their hot relation, with a bit of BDSM, the different dramas they go through and it’s really well written all along the book, so you just want to know what will happen next.

Interview With The Bad Boy is quite an explosive, fast-paced sexed up emotionally turbulent plot twisting with some romance thrown in read!
This second book by Rylee Swann, had me going through a host of emotions- much like the Cole and Becca throughout this supercharged storyline.
I have to say this is a book I did not see going in the direction it did! I loved the full-on frustrating sexual and more attraction these two have for each other- the more they fight it out- the closer they get to one another! *chills* The insta- all between them is not one you see in most books!
With its heart-tugging moments, mysterious twists, that ended up leading to a surprising amount sweetness and a spectacular HEA Rylee Swann has created a unique bad boy romance that had me floored and impressed!
4.5 Stars!

I was 1 of a lucky few who received an ARC (Advanced Review Copy) of this book in exchange for an honest review and I'm so very glad that I was. Rylee Swann is 1 very awesome author and her latest book "Interview with the Bad Boy" reflects that!!! I fell in love with Becca and Cole almost immediately, especially when their 2 broken-hearts began mending as 1. This romantic love story has an HEA and no cliff-hangers and is very descriptive. The characters themselves also had a past which is something I really liked about the book as it deepened the overall story.

It is therefore my greatest honor to give this book a 5-star review-rating and highly recommend it to anyone who loves to read romance novels.

Becca was a serious reporter for the campus newspaper. But her editor and ex boyfriend only assigned her fluff pieces in retaliation for her breaking up with him. He was a real jerk and devious at that, even to the point of drugging her so he could access her computer. She hated sports and what did he do, he assigned her to interview the ultimate bad boy football star Cole. Their chemistry was immediate and amazing but they had wounded hearts. Lots of drama, betrayal and suspense but eventually there's a great HEA. This was a great read about two people who are perfect for each other along the way they heal each other. I received an advance copy and voluntarily chose to review it. Rylee has another winner, IMO.

A Little Bit of Everything

I truly enjoyed this story about Becca and Cole, the journalism student and the college team's star quarterback. Both of them scarred by their childhood relationship with their fathers, they fought through a variety of issues to pull their individual and joined lives together.

I generally rate books by whether I'm willing to put my reader down to do necessary life functions (like eating and/or sleeping). I began reading this story during the daytime, so sleeping wasn't an issue. But I'm really hungry now, as I've missed breakfast and lunch, so I'm keeping this review short. Suffice it to say, it offers a bit of everything I enjoy from this genre and highly recommend it.

Wow, Rylee Swann did it again. I loved this book. Interview With the bad Boy is about a girl whose working the school newspaper and falls for the quarterback of the football team. She is supposed to be interviewing him not sleeping with him, but she soon learns he is not just the king of one-night stands, he has more serious problems than that. Becca cannot stay away, the sex is too hot and he is too sexy for her to leave him alone. This book is a fun, hot and just a cute love story that is filled with twists and turns, you have to read it to see what I mean, you won't be able to put it down. I loved it and I know you will too.

This is the second book that I've read by this author. I liked this one better. The main female lead Becca is 21 but not immature as most people are at her age. She definitely knows what she wants and is pursuing a career in journalism. The main male lead Cole is the college's quarterback and still has a lot of growing up to do. However, in this book, he does realize that changes need to be made and you will be impressed. There's a lot of sex but the romance builds as well between these two. There is a bit of a drama but you will enjoy the book as it does have a HEA and no cliffhanger. I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Becca is a college student who writes for the school paper, and is assigned to get an interview with the tattooed bad boy quarterback Cole. Becca is determined to get the interview, and Cole is not doing anything to improve his bad reputation. The chemistry between these two is explosive. No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed!

Cole James was hurt, emotionally destroyed when he met Becca he just saw her as a one night stand until he tasted her and couldn't forget her. even though deep down he was destroying himself with drugs and alcohol and forgetting to even bother going to school even though he has a football scholarship and is the quarterback of the undefeated team. Becca worked with her ex in the college paper as a journalist and her professionalism and her wanting to take everything serious got her to go to the dive bar to find Cole James hoping to get an interview out of him and got something better. got her sexuality discovered

Awesome Read!!

What happens when Becca has to interview the College QB for her school paper... well more than you can imagine actually.
Loved it!! I could not put this book down from the first page. This story went places I was not expecting and I was cheering, booing and vying for Becca and Cole throughout! It was both sexy and suspenseful. These characters are well-rounded and the story was captivating!
I can't wait to see what Rylee comes up with next!

This is the second book I have read by Rylee Swann. Even though I don't normally read new adult romances this did hold my interest. Cole and Becca both have some serious issues in their lives and neither one is really interested in addressing said issues. However, together the two of them do bring out the best in each other, eventually. Expect plenty of steamy scenes in this book as Cole and Becca try to find their way. Just a warning there is one scene in the book that some may find troubling that deals with date rape.

I enjoyed this book with an HEA that provided the characters with some pretty hot and steamy scenes. I found this to be a quick and easy read in the sense I would have liked a little more plot and some more in depth to some of the more serious story points, from the author however i did enjoy the interactions between the characters overall. If your interested in a steamy story with good characters then this is the choice for you as Becca and Cole definitely heat up the pages.

Interview with the Bad Boy is Rylee Swann's second book. This is a standalone book about two broken souls coming together having intense chemistry. The story line has a great plot about two characters who are each broken, by different circumstances in life but put them together and they were perfect match. Once you start reading Interview with the Bad Boy it will keep you captivated by twists and turns until the end of the story.

This book hits some tough topics that a college football star would deal with, however the heat in the book is hot.
Becca gets screwed in her job however she does get the last word. She doesn't know how to pull her inner self out until she meets Cole.
What I am saying is this is not an erotica that is just sex there is much more body to this book.

It's hard to put into words how much I LOVED this book! I absolutely adored Becca. She's the good girl with a broken past. I disliked Cole when he was first introduced, but as I read about his past and what he's gone through, I was completely reeled in. This was a beautiful story about redemption and conquering your past. This was so well written with fantastic characters and no loose ends.

This is another absolutely amazing book by Rylee Swann and I'm proud to have gotten the chance to be able to read this firsthand. It was nothing but hot, intense, angry filled romance. Cole and Becca start off rocky but after going through hard times and finally graduation the come together with lots and love and promise. This book is a MUST read in my opinion and I hope that once you get the chance you to will see why I give it high praises. Awesome and excellent again Rylee. I give this book a 5 star review.

Yay for something different!

This book was really well written and put together with amazing fully developed characters, especially for a book of its length. There 2 things that prevented a 4 star rating - the main male character admitting he would have had sex with someone other than the female main character, whom he was already seeing, and I feel like the author tried too hard to make the sex scenes different. Of course, I don't want to read the same thing as always, but I feel like maybe too many elements were thrown in too quickly. It just didn't all feel natural.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

Rylee Swann has scored a touchdown with this book!
Such humanity in her characters combined with hot, sexy scenes and surprising twists and turns.
This combined with hot topic issues that she embraces fully make this an exciting, stimulating, thoughtful and ultimately extremely satisfying read. It is engrossing so take the time to join her on the journey and you will be well rewarded. Highly recommended.
