Rate this book
She’ll move heaven and earth to save her only family.

On Brigitta Holtzer's 21st birthday, her father — one of the greatest witches of his generation — falls mysteriously, violently ill. To save him, Gitta must travel to the depths of hell accompanied only by a sexy, irritable vampire… named Scott.

To secure her father's salvation, Gitta must risk her very soul and give up her freedom — not to mention expose herself to the darkness of her father's hidden world, and the inkiest corners of her own psyche.

Nothing remains unbroken in FRAGILE MAGICK.

HEATHER MARIE ADKINS writes too much but still too little. She also has too many cats, not enough tequila, and a torrid love affair with procrastination.

With a penchant for the paranormal, Heather spends her days fueled by coffee, Ancient Aliens, and true crime podcasts. She resides in an unfortunately-not-haunted Queen Anne in southern Indiana with a sarcastic husband who is entirely too dependent on puns.

When she’s not plotting her next book or herding felines, she's researching the spookier aspects of history for her podcast, Historically Weird. Find out more about her at heathermarieadkins.com.

Brigitta is a teen witch, daughter of a famously powerful witch father. He loves his daughter fiercely, though he does still mourn her mother who died in a car accident while Brigitta was still in the womb. When Brigitta returns home one day, she finds her father slumped over his work, non-responsive. The spidery black veins covering him show someone magically poisoned him. In a bid to save his life, her cousin sends her to go talk to a mysterious someone, which turns into a journey to the Underworld.

Usually I make my decision to read a book at three chapters. So, I toughed it out as Brigitta mooned over the barista at the local coffee shop, agonizing over the idea that if she did have a relationship with him that it wouldn’t last because she was a witch and would outlive him. And I toughed it out through her gossiping with her cousin Jerick who was flamboyantly gay and obsessed with fashion. And at that point I decided the book was just not something I wanted to continue with. So I read through a bunch of reviews and ran across a mention of a journey to the underworld and decided to stick around for the journey. I’ve liked other books by the author. And it’s worth it reading Brigitta’s journey into the Greek Underworld. I loved the vampire she meets along the way. I thought it was hilarious when he told her he wanted to be known by a tough name, but she kept calling him by his real name in her head. I loved how she kept bugging him with questions while he was trying to cultivate a tough, dangerous façade. One word of warning is, this is book 1 in a trilogy (according to the title) but there are no other books in the trilogy out. Considering this book was published in 2017, I’ve got my doubts on getting a continuation on this, which is a problem since it ends on a cliffhanger. It is by no means a full adventure since it raised a ton of questions and didn’t answer any of them and she didn’t even accomplish the thing she set out to do.

I absolutely loved this book, I couldn’t put it down. The writing was great, I didn’t have a problem with any of it. There were no faults in the writing and had no problems following the story line. I would love to know when the second book will be out because I can’t wait to read it!! The characters were engaging and the story left me with questions about what happens next, which is what I look for in a series.

Wow. Talk about cliffhanger..

This book was a bit confusing. It was good. But all over the place. One min he is sick she is at work the next day same then he is poisoned and she goes straight to the walkway to hell meets a vamp has sexy with him and then meets "P" and has to make a major decision and it's over before that happens. I'm just a little confused how fast it all went only two days for the whole book. But it was a good read.

A good read

A little shallow with no real explanations. I find it hard to accept stories where there is no questioning, just going along with it. Who is Scott? Why is he there? He doesn't even ask her for details before he's leading her to hell. Frustrating. So, a shallow story but readable.

Brigitta is a witch, beautiful, fiery and scared of some of the things going on in her life.

It's her 21st birthday, she finds her father in his workshop so sound asleep that he doesn't wake until she shakes him. And things get more dangerous and unusual from there.

Read and enjoy.

Short but sweet

Nothing Better than a witch on a mission. And that missions taking her to the under world tho save her father. That use until she meets a vampire, let's him drink from her and makes a deal with Persephone herself. I hope she's up for the challenge

I really enjoyed reading this book. Shows a lot about a daughter and her love for her father. Willing to do whatever it takes to save him sends the main character on a quest to which decisions need to be made. Can't wait to find out what happens next.

Read this!

I read the first book, for me, of this author in an anthology. I loved the story. Author stalking began. Now I am going to collect her books one by one as budget allows. This book ended on a cliff hangar that I must have and will.

Very good first in series book. Magic and the underworld come together as Gitta travels to the underworld to try and save her father from a deadly witches curse. Cliffhanger ending with no sneak peek at the next in series leaves me in serious need of the next book.

A daughter's love for her father and her journey to save him. It's magick meets the underworld. This book takes you to another world, dropping pieces of a bigger picture. It is a great read. I really liked the storyline and characters. It kept my interest and had me from the first page.
