When you hear about the applications that are being created that utilize neural networks, you are actually hearing about the amount of work that went behind making a neural network do something that's complicated but not a complicated neural network. Neural networks are extremely easy to understand as you will find throughout this book but the problem is that people have made them look complicated. Therefore, let's go ahead and demystify this subject so that you can get into the field of neural networks yourself and have some fun.

The human mind is a crazy yet amazing thing. I am fascinated with brain theory and brain based learning, so am always interested in books like this to see what new ideas I can learn from them. I have read many books from John Slavio and have found his works to be informative and insightful. I figured this book would be another great introduction to a topic that I have some basic information about already, but want to know more about.
And I definitely enjoyed this book. I did find there was some new information in it about neural networks and the way the brain transmits information, as well as artificial intelligence. I did know most of what was contained in this book, but I still found some new things in it that I did not know before. It is definitely a short book, so only gives you an overview of the main concepts, and it covers quite a bit. But it does provide a great introduction for those who are new to the subject.
The writing itself was good. As with his other books, Slavio provides a lot of information in a short amount of writing, so it is just scratching at the surface instead of truly digging deep. But it is easy to understand and follow, light reading for the most part. It was relatively free of errors in grammar and mechanics and I was able to move quickly through the writing with no distractions.
Definitely a great introduction for people wanting to know more and well worth the read.
