Mobile Developer's Guide to the Galaxy

A community publication about all things mobile.
This project was initiated in 2009 with the aim to spread knowledge about mobile technologies and to encourage people to enter our community or deepen their existing knowledge.
More than 20 writers from the mobile community share their know-how in dealing with topics such as accessibility in mobile apps, UX design, mobile analytics, prototyping, cross-platform development, native Android and iOS development, mobile web and app marketing.
As of today, over 100,000 hardcopies have been distributed since 2009. Universities and schools in Germany, Netherlands, UK, Spain and South Africa use the book as teaching material. The electronic versions (ebook and pdf) have been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times and the content has been translated into serveral languages.

This is an extremely practical and useful guide to all people who even don't have any experience with mobile development. It gives the essential knowledge needed for UX/UI design, marketing, tracking, monetization etc. which took me a lot of time to learn. I would recommend it to everyone starting with programming mobile apps as it lays the basis for starting a successful mobile app.

The majority of this book is pretty basic. For me personally I didn’t find new insights but I believe this is a great guide for anyone who wants to know how the "mobile world" works in general. It covers many topics such as Android/iOS/Web and also insights about monetization practices but also design guidelines as well as accessibility.
The illustrations are also very cute.

Great book/guide.

Very informative and useful with links to an abundance of other resources. It doesn't give a step-by-step code examples but rather shows you where to go and find this information relating to a number of platforms out there.
