Fragile Ground

Rate this book
“Sorry, do I know you?”

The last thing Olivier Sauveterre remembers, he was a closeted college senior, balancing furtive hookups with writing his thesis. But when a nasty car accident robs him of two years of memories, he finds himself thousands of miles from home, covered in tattoos, living with a man he doesn’t recognize. Gorgeous and enigmatic, Auriel is just Olivier’s type—but it’s clear there’s a big secret his supposed “housemate” isn’t telling him.

“We’re not just roommates; you’re the love of my life.”

Auriel Floros loves everything about his life: his job, his overgrown garden, and most all, his boyfriend Olivier. Quick-witted and fiercely passionate, Olivier is the perfect partner…up until he forgets who Auriel is. Suddenly, their happily ever after shatters before Auriel’s eyes. But medical professionals warn Auriel to keep Olivier’s stress level at a minimum, and Auriel makes the heart-breaking decision to pretend he and Olivier were friends and housemates—nothing more.

“You still know how to love me…I’ll remind you.”

Auriel misses his boyfriend desperately, longing for the easy intimacy and scorching sex they shared before the accident. Olivier can’t help gravitating toward Auriel, charmed by his patience and the elaborate home-cooked meals he prepares for Olivier each night. Over bowls of chili and late night talks, Olivier finds himself unable to resist digging into their shared history and trying to find out what makes Auriel seems so mysterious and sad. It’s hard to keep a secret when you’re living in the same house, and heartbreak seems inevitable as tension builds between them. Ultimately they have to work together to rebuild Olivier’s life, and in the process they find themselves on fragile ground.

Fragile Ground is a contemporary MM romance with plenty of heat, hurt/comfort and second chance themes, and a guaranteed happy ending.

Told in dual POV, 3rd person, it’s a standalone novel. This was my first read by this author and it was enjoyable (amnesia is always one of my fave plots). My only complaint is the lack of angst. It’s totally angst-free. To be honest, it had the potential to be an emotional read but unfortunately, there wasn’t a good execution on that part. Overall, despite the issues, I still liked it and hope you enjoy it as well!

Whew! Color me happy and surprised. This was an enjoyable read plus it’s a debut novel. *Shocked face* It wasn’t perfect but I really liked it.

“Fucking retrograde amnesia.”

Poor Olivier. He wakes up after a car accident with the past two years of his memories gone. He is covered in tattoos, apparently all the way out of the closet, lives on the West coast and there is this guy/roommate that is tending to his every need and he doesn’t understand why.

Auriel is the love of Olivier’s life. But, now he is the guy Olivier doesn’t remember. Their love story, their chemistry, their connection, their romance; all of it's gone and Auriel is subjected to playing an overcaring roommate while Olivier adjusts to his new life.

It’s a very bumpy and emotional journey as Olivier and Auriel find a way to let each other go and then in turn, find their way back. Auriel’s love for Olivier is beautiful as he tends to Olivier and then gives him what he needs, even when it’s breaking his heart and smashing it to pieces.

“I’m sorry… For forgetting you. For not knowing how to love you.”

Auriel and Olivier walk on fragile ground to get to…well, a place that they can find each other and love again in spite of their circumstances; even if it isn’t the same as it was before. They do find their way to a HEA but I was even more delighted that it wasn’t all wrapped up in a shiny bow.

As I said above, it wasn’t all unicorns and rainbows in this debut. My first little niggle is that we didn’t know much about what happened to Olivier. They didn’t really talk about the accident, it wasn’t mentioned besides an in passing car accident and a couple text messages asking where he was. If I hadn’t read the synopsis, I wouldn’t have understood what actually led to this brain injury until about 20%. Which is fine but I wouldn’t have complained to have a bit more information as the story progressed.

My next issue was more of a something is missing feeling. From Olivier’s letting Auriel go phase to their back together phase, something was missing. Olivier didn’t do much soul searching for someone who had zero memory and the jump in feelings wasn’t fully realized when they were back together so suddenly. I will say that after this coming together, they did work things through and it became much less disjointed.

I really enjoyed this book and will look forward to more from this new author. The writing style was easy to digest and although the amnesia trope has been done many times before, this was interesting and not the status quo. The growth each man made was evident and their connection became believable. Definitely recommended.

“Our experiences, our choices; these are not only demonstrations of who we are… they are the things that make us who we truly are.”

This is a truly special love story. It could have been full of cliches focusing as it does on a man with amnesia who has no memory of his partner.

But, in the hands of another debut author, this romance turns into something more. It's about choices and connections, about trust and life experiences.

It's also, at the heart of it, about falling in love all over again with someone who's never stopped loving you but is afraid to rely on those feelings remaining.

I loved both Olivier and Auriel. Each had vulnerabilities which gives the book its fragile title. Their previously solid relationship had been stretched thin after the accident and coma as each one tried to deal with the two year memory loss.

I was so very glad that Olivier didn't get his memories back, there was no magic cure, they both put in the effort to choose to be in love and remain in love.

This is an impressive debut from Louisa and I look forward to more work from her.

Needed more....

Where to start?!? First for me, especially for the type of story it was I️ didn’t feel the emotional pull that I️ would expect from a story like this. The first time I️ felt anything was around the 48% mark. Unfortunately, that event IMO was resolved a bit to fast. Also, we heard about Olivier’s family, which I️ felt their brief background was a bit awkwardly thrown in there. However, there was nothing about Auriel’s family nor their concern about their son’s boyfriend. My last thing to point out is the weird HEA. I️ understand the lack of connection/chemistry in the beginning. However, I feel that it was still lacking between the two MCs at the end of the story. You will understand what I️ mean when you get there. So, I️ have to say I️ was a bit disappointed with the story especially given all the great reviews. It could be just me....

This book had a hidden depth. It’s beautiful. Something about this touched me. It gave me a good warm feeling. The author really have great potential. I loved both MC and their name equally. Their understanding about each other made me envious of their relationship. They both were very different but perfect for each other.
Secondary characters were strong and loyal especially their friends.

I have a weakness for amnesia stories, give me a book or movie and I’m there. So when I got my eyes on this one I just had to read it. And I wasn’t disappointed. This was a sweet hurt-comfort read and perfect to curl up with on a cold and snowy night.

Amnesiac stories can be heartbreaking reads; they can have you going through a box of tissues before the first chapter is through. But we don’t get that with Fragile Ground. It’s lighter and didn't wreck me as some amnesiac stories have in the past (read: What Remains). It wasn't overly angsty or dramatic. I dare say it was as fluffy as this kind of story can be. Don't get me wrong there were heartbreaking moments and sad ones, they just don't gut you. Because the underlying feeling you have while reading this book is overwhelming hope and love and a genuine connection between all the characters.

Sure I wouldn't have minded a longer story to have a few things more fleshed, both for the characters and the story. There were quite a few things that were hinted at and never really explored or resolved. You can tell that this is an author early in her writing carrer, not that the book is bdly written, just that certain things needed more depth. But all in all it was a well spent few hours with these two guys. So if you are a fan of these kinds of stories, don’t miss out on this one.

A sweet read about everlasting love and second chances.

Amnesia books are a strange love of mine so I jumped on this one when Kay Simone recommended it in her newsletter. Auriel and Olivier (took me a bit to get used to those names) had to fight their way back to each other after Olivier lost his last two years of memory (the time when he became comfortable being open and met and fell in love with Auriel) in a car accident.

Auriel was all the good things - almost a saint among men. Olivier was a little more difficult to like. He went from a jerk to saccharine on a dime. I liked this but I didn’t love it. It felt like a surface treatment to me.

Olivier has been involved in a car accident and now has amnesia which has robbed him of the last two years of his life. What he doesn't realise is that Auriel is not only his house-mate but his boyfriend. Will they ever find their way back to where they were before or is this the end? This story tells of how Olivier comes to terms with losing his two years and then falls in love with Auriel all over again.
This is a beautifully told and very moving story.

The way this author writes in the third-person-present-tense is just awkward o__O ... something's definitely off here and it's making the reading cumbersome and somewhat obnoxious :-/!!
If things continue this way I don't think I'll be able to focus on the story and I'll probably just DNF it!!

Also, a cookie-cutter type prologue that you would normally get in a cookie-cutter type romance is NOT appropriate for a book like this one.
*** [Example of one such "cookie-cutter" series is E. Davies's 'The Riley Brothers' series]!!

I think I'll just DNF because I know my rating will be harsh. It annoys me when an author destroys a perfectly good premise :-/!!

Borrowed from Kindle Unlimited.

I will always state when I borrowed something from Kindle Unlimited and whether I purchased it afterward or not! Why? Well, if I've borrowed something from KU, it - by default - means I am very unsure of either the author (if that author is new to me) or that specific book (in general)! I ADORE purchasing and owning my books, BUT for books or authors I'm unsure of, KU is a phenomenal way to try before committing!
Regardless, it means I'm very much on the fence, for whatever reason!
I'll highlight the outcome either way ... I'll either be glad it was on KU so I could give it back, or I'll have ADORED it and will decided to purchase right after borrowing :-)!!
I think it's a nice way to keep track; it might help someone else who's on the fence!

Striking colors and imagery. Mediocre font choices. Very interesting synopsis.

POV ~> Third-person.

Yes, this is yet another amnesiac love story.
The lead characters are loosely described and defined, choosing to concentrate more on the magnetic chemistry they feel toward one another. The secondary characters are few but fun. Dialogue and interaction was strong enough, however the plot felt as though it focused more on the mental and emotional turmoil that building a solid, strong plot to support the story. The cause of the accident and subsequent findings being a big plot hole, as were the additional side effects and recovery from a traumatic brain injury where only one followup appointment was mentioned.
There were some minor conflicts to work through. Predictability was low. The conclusion was solid enough. Overall, it was a decent story but needs to receive another round of edits, several typos / errors were noticed while reading this copy.

Aurial and Olivier

Second chance of happiness.
Well written tear jerked. Aerial and Olivier has been in a relationship for two years. Olivier wakes up after an accident and has lost the last two years of his life.
It's true I have read a similar plot. However this one was so in Aurial's corner that they would recapture their love. The writing convinced you that these guys belong together and Olivier had to remember.
4.5 romance.

Olivier has retrograde amnesia. His boyfriend, Auriel, is in the picture until Olivier tries to use him to get his memories back. Using him without actually acting on affection, just attraction, is too painful for Auriel so he begins to avoid Olivier. The cold shoulder makes Olivier turn to his friends for help and they verbally smack him in the head in the hope of figuratively dislodging it from his anal cavity. When Olivier's solution is to break things off with Auriel so he can't use Auriel's feelings that way again Auriel thanks him and then takes off.

...And here I cried a bit. Like, literal tears and sniffles for a good 45 seconds. Trust me, that's a long time when I'm reading a book...

With time and space they're both able to see what they want and what they need for the future. Auriel makes use of Stella's family's cottage at the beach to find room to breathe, cry, and to think about what he wants his future to look like. He meets a barista/bartender that listens to him and extends a hand of friendship...and neon alcohol with an invitation to 80's night at a kitschy bar. The space is refreshing but also crushing because he's coming to a realization that what he wants isn't fair to the man who can't remember how he became the person he sees in the mirror. No matter what Auriel wants he's determined to let go of Olivier because it's the right thing to do.

Olivier, in the mean time, begins to discover who he was and how he came to be who he is. With the guidance of Sartre and the trust he has in his self and the choices that self has made he realizes that he wants Auriel. The man who cared for him despite knowing Olivier saw him as a stranger intrigues him, draws him in. Since he chose love and Auriel once he trusts that that's what he should do again. He knows that there's a large part of him that doesn't remember Auriel the person but his presence, his essence, is essential to the happiness he sees for his future. Determined to win him back, he turns to his best friend, Hattie, for advice to do just that.

Their journey to love for a second time is sweet and honest. It's also sensual as Olivier gets a second chance to confess his desires and passions to a man who accepted it all once and is eager and happy to accept again. What I kind of expected, the long-suffering Auriel sticking it out and the vulnerable yet frustrated Olivier eventually regaining his memories, didn't play out like I thought it would. These men didn't always react predictably and the choices made were the same. I was surprised by Olivier's choices and reasoning behind them, but more than that, I respected them. There was something very real and mature in the way that he went about things with Auriel once he saw the consequences of his impulsiveness. Even more was how he sought to learn about himself and the thought applied to moving forward from his memory loss.

The ending was sweet and passionate. Tenderness and honesty were there too and that made the amnesia outcome a bit of a surprise but much more realistic and satisfying. I grew to love these men throughout the story. For a debut novel by the author I'm impressed and a new fan.

My first read by Louisa Keller and I will be looking out for her work in the future. I truly enjoyed reading this story.
Both MC's were given enough backstory and personality to be strong and hold the story. The relationship between the two is intense a lot of the time which is understandable with the amnesia suffered by Olivier after a terrible accident and the turmoil Auriel is going through by needing to give Olivier his space to recover but being the only one to remember their history together is tough on his mental and emotional strength. The supporting characters of Stella and Hattie bring comic relief and much needed support to both Olivier and Auriel.
I initially struggled with not knowing what actually happened to Olivier for him to have such an injury but I think it actually enhances the relationship and recovery parts of the book as you can put your focus on those. It is revealed at some point but by then it's not a necessary piece of information.
I love that Olivier initially takes his mental health into account, which is extremely important under the circumstances, but after an event and some honest opinions from Stella and Hattie he begins to see how his injury is also affecting those around him but especially Auriel because of their pre-accident relationship.
The way that Louisa wrote about the head injury, the added resulting symptoms experienced and the fact that there wasn't a magical healing moment just makes the story so much better. Enhancing all the characters interactions, emotions and thoughts.
The city was written about beautifully. You can understand why Olivier decided to stay and it provides many places for meet ups between the friends and couple. It sounds like a wonderful city to visit.
The growth by our MC's is written well. Olivier is obviously focused on his own health and mental state but he also needs and comes to realise how much this all affects his boyfriend of two years, even if he can't remember. Auriel obviously takes Olivier's health seriously, wanting him to recover as well as he can but we also see him take care of himself by removing himself from the situation which is badly affecting his anxiety. It's good for this to be seen as mental health is such an important topic at the moment.
Olivier can be snarky and Auriel is so laid back but they compliment each other perfectly and it's a beautiful story to read. I'd definitely recommend it to general MM fans, people new to Louisa Keller and anyone looking for a story that is slightly different but still has a HEA.
I received an ARC from this author in return for an honest review

Loss as a part of love

This was a beautiful and touching story. It took an unusual topic and made it into a story of discovery and love amidst heartbreak.

Olivier and Auriel have been together for almost two years when Olivier is in an accident and forgets the past two years. As that is the entirety of their time knowing each other Olivier not only forgets Auriel and their life together, but the changes in his own life from the town he lives in to the tattoos on his arms. For Olivier he is waking up to a shock of a life with major and inexplicable changes. For Auriel the man he loves is gone even while being right there, with their relationship lost to an event of chance. Both men have a major shift in their lives that will affect their future.

Keller did an amazing job of exploring the way amnesia affected both of th3 characters. For Olivier, this is a chunk of life gone that is frustrating and confusing. To his mind there is no reason to have changed so completely, even though they were gradual changes over two years of life experience. He also feels that parts of himself have been ripped away, with everyone knowing he is gay when he still feels that to be a secret. This new world that he is supposed to know is a constant source of dismay as he seeks to marry the evidence he has of this new life with any possible hint of recognition. For Auriel it is a completely different experience. The man he loves was in an accident, possibly lost forever, but he survived and woke up. To then find that the accident stole memories, it makes it as though Olivier has died anyway. Auriel has to deal with heartbreak and loss, all while be patient and caring with the still very alive Olivier. It is a source of agony and loss for Auriel to see what he had but have no way to reach it.

Our past and experiences shape us and make us who we are. But at the same time we can choose who to be and how to make our future. This book explores how to make a future without a past, and how it changes what already exists. It was heartfelt and moving, a book that explored love and all of its changes and possibilities. An amazing book I would highly recommend!

Fragile Grounds has been in our TBR list for a while, and we did crack it to read the Prologue. But, it is a heartbreaking premise, losing your memory and living a life you don’t believe to be yours. But Louisa Keller wades into this story and instead of suffering we find a sweet second chance at love.

What did we love?
- 2nd chance love: We really hate 2nd chance romance, so much, we really stay away from that genre. Fragile Ground is not a traditional 2nd chance love, rather a twist on the genre. It is about falling in love again with someone who you are to spend your life with, that no matter the circumstance that you will find yourself back where you should be. Admittedly this can become too saccharine but Louisa Keller skits the line with Olivier who questions the choices the old him made, and if the new him would make the same.
- Amnesia: We think Louisa Keller treated the idea of Olivier’s amnesia as almost a 3rd person in their relationship. It was an interesting idea that we really appreciated.

What left us scratching our heads?
- The Truth: Okay we guess springing on Olivier that he is an open gay man, living with a partner would be a lot to swallow, but instead of trying to explain his life, his friends and family left out the truth. It felt a bit like they were all waiting for some miracle and for his memory to snap back, but it added a lot of angst to the story that could have worked out another way. We felt that if we were Auriel we would have fought a hell of a lot harder to be the one to support Olivier.
- The end: We guess we kind of saw it coming, but it felt a little expected. Like Olivier went on this huge journey of finding who he wanted to be, and not trying to be the person he was, and the ending just didn’t fit. It felt like an ending for the old Olivier.

Fragile Ground is a fascinating story, a twist on a second chance romance. We loved the writing style and the authentic characters. This is Louisa Keller’s debut novel and we can’t wait to read whatever she writes next!

* A copy was provided for free by the author in exchange for an honest review *

It is nicely written, fast paced and very emotional story .
I got sucked into the story from the beginning. I absolutely love stories like this, with a character suffering from a partial amnesia.

This book is a little bit different than other books with this type of the main plot because more than once I was quite sure there would never be a happy ending.

I loved the idea of falling in love twice for the same person. There were a lot of thing I really, really liked but unfortunatelly there were some things that I couldn't stand or that annoyed me and this is why i cannot rate it more than just 4 stars even though I really enjoyed this story.
I loved Auriel, I loved the idea of tattoos and not remembering getting them, about complete change in personality and the whole "mission to make Oliver feel comfortable". But Oliver in his amnesiac version was an asshole, sure he felt lost and scared, but it felt like everybody around him was waiting for a miracle instead of telling him the truth and I just couldn't understand this.

There is a very happy ending, but it felt kind of unreal and plastic, but mostly just anticlimatic. It kinda ruined this moment for me.

Louisa Keller is a new author but her writing style is good and I can't wait to read more of her work!

This was the first book I read from this author and , I must say I was blown away.Louisa Keller not only delivered a gorgeous and hauntingly beautiful piece of work, it left me feeling chocked-up, happy and decidedly exhilarated with a eye opening hopeful feeling of great possibility for the future with Olivier and Auriel. The subject matter was unlike any I have read in M/M romance as of now but it was done so with such care and warmth and sensitivity that I fell in love while simultaneously feeling the pain, confusion hurt and uncertainty that Auriel experiences when he comes to find his lover has no memory of the life hey have been building together for the past couple of yrs after he looses a chunk of memory due to a traumatic head injury. The way Louisa Keller navigates and guides us thru the reality that Olivier now has to live with moving forward and his desire to find out who he is as a person and who Auriel is to him was tear inducing and heart soaring all at once. As these two men go on their journeys to get back to each other there are very tender and loving moments, and fierce passion. The smoldering inferno that lies beneath the surface , when it comes and both men get consumed with the desire and familiarity of each others bodies , like road maps that guide them to solid ground, I found my pulse quicken and my heart sore with happiness. This is not a story of falling out of love and trying to rebuild but rather a story of love being stolen from ones mind and the memories of that can never be replaced, a story of knowing that love was and desiring to not look to the past for it but take the moment and look to the future and care for and nurture it. I cannot wait to be able to read more for this very gifted new author.

This is a beautiful story, poignant and heartbreaking. It grabbed me right from the start and didn’t let go until I finished this book.
Olivier has lost several years of his memory due to a car crash. And as it is, these are just the years he fell in love with his roommate, Auriel. He is overwhelmed and confused not being able to remember. Olivier’s amnesia affects not only himself, but also has tremendous repercussions for Auriel. It is hard to see that the man you love doesn’t even recognize you.
The two men have a rough road ahead. They have to rebuild their relationship from the ground up. Olivier is the same man as he was before the accident and at the same time, he is not. Auriel both knows and doesn’t know him. He loves the “old” Olivier, and he needs to learn the “new” Olivier. Olivier has to come to terms with his amnesia and start to rediscover himself through the answers his friends and Auriel gives him. He has to learn to trust his boyfriend and most importantly his past self. But his heart knows long before his head does.
The author brings the characters to live, and I was totally engrossed in their lives. The feelings and emotions are beautiful, raw and honest. It is a hard-worn journey to loving the one you were meant to be with.
L’existence précède l’essence. Existence precedes essence.

Wow! What an incredibly emotional book. I loved this book even though I was crying through a lot of it and I could not put it down. It is so well-written and the characters pulled me into their story. Auriel showed incredible strength and wisdom as he dealt with Olivier's memory loss. He would do anything to make Olivier happy, even if it means losing him. Olivier does his best to move forward but with two years missing from his life he finds it hard to reconcile what he does remember with the reality he now faces. Even his own body seems out of place with all the tattoos he doesn't remember getting. Olivier could chose to move forward with a clean slate or try to rediscover his love with Auriel. Once Olivier reads the articles he wrote in the last two years and sees pictures of the happy life he had with Auriel he wants to get it back. He just has to figure out how to do that. Even though Stella and Hattie are secondary characters they played key roles in the story as best friends to Auriel and Olivier. I hope this author writes many more books as I can't wait to read them.
I was given an ARC to review by the author.

Not bad but I didn’t like it.

1/ While I was reading it I couldn’t help but kept comparing it to the amazing and beautiful «  Missing Pieces » series by N.R Walker that ruined me for the other amnesia trope books 😁 Dallas and Justin was so perfect together and for each other.

2/ There’s a lack of depth, chemistry and emotions. They worked on rekindling their physical connection mostly.
I didn’t like Oliver the Mc who lost his memory , he went from a jackass and “ Don’t tell me I have a boyfriend, I’m not ready to give up on my slutty bachelor days (he was a manwhore)” to sweet, saccharine and “ I want to be with Auriel” in a dime !!
( He broke up with Auriel because he couldn’t remember him, but wanted him back in his life just a few days after because he dreamed of them having sex and it didn’t took him too much to fall in love with him again “ roll eye” )

Not sure if I recommend this one. But You should definitely read the “ Missing Pieces” serie by N.R Walker.

Note: this story is written in present tense.
The core idea was good and hat great potential however it was poorly executed. The lack of research or at least serious research was prominent in the entire story. There were many technical problems and it is also obvious that the author doesn't know much about behavioral psychology and post trauma behavior. Some parts of the story were too rushed while there was some unnecessary focus on mundane parts that didn't add anything to the story. Also the events unfolded in an unrealistic short time frame. And the author contradicts herself at lest once as if she had forgotten what she had written earlier! Needless to say that the text had some typos and editing problems but fortunately not many. That said it wasn't entirely bad. Parts of the story were to some degree entertaining and the lack of research occasionally amusing.

How would you handle losing your memories?

Amnesia is something I always thought of happening in soap operas and the movies. Somebody'd get amnesia and then all of a sudden, they remember everything. It's hard to imagine how you'd handle it if it happened to you. When I read the blurb for Fragile Ground, I was curious to see how the story would play out. How Auriel would deal with Olivier not remembering everything they had shared and how Olivier would relate to this stranger who he was supposed to love. I really liked how the prologue jumps ahead a little bit and then the story backtracks to just after Olivier's accident. It's tough to read. I felt awful for both of them but liked seeing them learn to walk this new path. It wasn't an sweetness but it was a satisfying ending.

Olivier has amnesia following a car accident, so when he wakes up from a coma, he is two years older, has a bunch of tattoos, lives across the country as an out gay man, and most unbelievably, he has fallen in love. But his boyfriend, Auriel, decides to keep that last fact a secret so Olivier isn't too overwhelmed.

Auriel goes to quite a lot of angst in this one which really resonated with me. Can you imagine having your SO not remember you or your relationship?

This is more about finding your way footing in old and new relationships than about the medical aspects of amnesia, and I appreciate that in a romantic story.

It's a laugh-and-cry kind of book, which earns it five stars in my opinion.

Oliver and Auriel made one another who they were as people. They both found that one person whom they could let go of their insecurities and just be themselves no matter who was around. They found that niche people strive for in a relationship where together they make a whole and not manically so. As a whole, they are happy, truly happy with who they are and their life.

Then... they aren't.

Where do we go after everything we've known for several years seemingly vanishes overnight? How is it possible to deal with the love of your life not knowing who you are or who you were together? Sadly, so many people go through this in real life as well.

"Fragile Ground" was beautifully written with realistic characters who readers will root for, and who readers will cry for.

Amazing!!!

I almost have no words for this book. At first the cover caught my eye and I read the blurb and thought this was a trope that's been done and probably not much new to add, but might as well give it a try. Holy wow did I end up falling in love with Oscar and Auriel. This Author had such an amazing and beautiful way with words I couldn't put this book down. It was an absolutely amazing story about a second chance at not only love but at choosing the life you didn't know you wanted but ultimately is exactly where you belong. Beautiful, amazing, can't wait for more from this Author!

Wow! What a touching and unusual 👬 love story! Auriel is the perfect sensitive and caring partner for amnesiac Olivier, and together they find their way to move on after Olivier forgets their 2-year relationship due to injuries sustained in a car crash. The pages seemed to fly by because I was so caught up in their struggle to refind love! Yes, there is plenty of steam, but at heart this is pure romance. I adored the loving gestures and caring scenes throughout the story and look forward to seeing more quality works like this from this author:-)

I received a complimentary advance copy of this book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

I loved this book

Not going to lie this is only my second lgbt read but I loved everything about it which is why I’m giving a review. First and foremost I learned a lot! I at first didn’t even realize this was an lgbt book I was just loving the suspense from the prologue and first chapter. Then I couldn’t put it down. The relationship was seriously magical and elements were real. I think this was one the of the best stories I’ve read so far this year and I’m really happy about it. Now I’ll be sharing this title with my friends because romance comes in all shapes and forms and I want to see a more expanded world!

I normally don't like second chance books, but the story between Olivier and Auriel was different. Instead of both of them knowing their past and why they fell in love, Olivier has his memory of the last two years lost because of an accident. My heart broke for Auriel, knowing how their relationship worked before and not being able to show Olivier what he meant to Auriel. It was both sweet and heartbreaking, but with plenty of chemistry between the two and you can't help but hope the work. A great read!!

Ahhhhhh!

Wow! After reading the prologue I knew this was my kind of story. So I get comfortable and dig in for a serious read. Olivier is suffering from amnesia caused by an accident and it’s even more tragic by the fact he doesn’t remember Auriel, the love of his life. The angst begins immediately. My heart breaks for both of them. As Olivier and Auriel come to grips with the status of their relationship, I was caught up, mesmerized, tissues ready to stifle my sniffles. I didn’t stop reading until the last word. Worth the read, worth 5 stars.
