I've read quite a few Kendall Ryan books, and this is by far my favorite of her more recent releases. I love a good brother's best friend book. The forbidden aspect... the tension within the pages... it makes for one deliciously steamy story.
Barrett Wilson is a successful attorney in Chicago. He's worked hard and is now on the fast track to becoming partner at the law firm he works at. He's managed to get the weekend off to come to his hometown in Indiana for his best friend's father's retirement party. Barrett's always been like part of the family when it comes to the Saunders family, but he's never felt familial with Ava Saunders. Ever since she's grown up, he's found it difficult to control his feelings for her. But he has to. She's his best friend, Nick's little sister, and he could never go there.
Ava has had a crush on Nick since she was a teen. Now that he's older, she only wants him more. Ava is a busy girl and doesn't have time for a relationship, much like Barrett. But she thinks, maybe this weekend, they could have something. Just for the weekend. It's much more than either one of them bargained for, though.
I listened to the audio book of Bro Code. Jacob Morgan and Ava Erickson do a fantastic job at narrating, as always. I love listening to Kendall's audio books. She always has the best narrators and most of the time, the stories have duet narration which is my favorite. This book was sexy, sweet, fun, and forbidden and completely hit the spot for me! I recommend it to anyone looking for a short and steamy read!

Wanting her is the equivalent of running with scissors. In a word, she’s dangerous. Wanting her this desperately could put an end to the closest friendship I’ve got, and worse than that, I sense she could leave me brokenhearted.
BRO CODE is a sweet and sexy ”in love with the older brother’s best friend” romance. I loved both the Hero and Heroine and found the plot to be entertaining, and the story progression was well paced. This story had a lot of heart on top of scorching hot steam and there’s even a good dose of angst to top it all off. This is the reason why I remain a faithful fan of Kendall Ryan.
Barrett Wilson has a successful career as a lawyer for one of the top firms in Chicago. He’s on the fast track to making partner. He’s put in a lot of hours for the firm which has meant that his personal life has had to be placed on the back burner. When he goes back home for the weekend for his best friend’s dad’s retirement party, there’s one person he is equally anxious and dreading to see at the same time. Nick’s little sister… Ava Saunders. Barrett has had a secret crush on her for years but knows that she is ”Off Limits” due to the unspoken ”Bro Code”. The moment he sees Ava again, Barrett knows he is royally screwed because she is even more beautiful than he remembered and his code of honor is weakening fast!!
Barrett isn’t the only one feeling the intense attraction. Ava has had a huge crush on Barrett for as long as she can remember. But she knows he’s a ”player” and that any notion that they could have a committed relationship is preposterous. For the next few days while Barrett is a guest in the Saunders’ family home, the act of “keeping their distance”, will prove to be impossible. The attraction building between Barrett and Ava becomes too overpowering to ignore.
Just one taste of the forbidden has them both realizing that they’re in too deep and walking away could very well leave them devastated. To be with Ava, Barrett would have to put a lifelong friendship and a promising career in jeopardy. Is love worth the risk for Barrett?

STORY OVERVIEW AND REVIEW
Corporate lawyer Barrett Wilson is back in Indiana from Chicago to celebrate the retirement of his best friend Nick's dad, the closest thing Barrett has to a father figure. He's staying with them for the weekend, and it shouldn't be a big deal. The Saunders are like family to Barrett anyway. But Barrett isn't the only one back in town; so is Nick's little sister Ava, who is not so little anymore.
Ava is officially in Indiana again to take over her father's business, and it's a pleasant surprise to have her high school crush under the same roof as her, even for just a weekend. And a little run in at the shower could be the sign that she might just have her chance with him.
They have to weigh in the possible consequences of giving in to their desires and feelings they've both been carrying for the last few years—the lifelong friendship and relationship Barrett has with the Saunders family might turn to dust, both Ava and Barrett might get distracted from reaching their goals in their careers, and hearts might get broken.
If you enjoy the big brother's best friend trope, I have a feeling you'll enjoy Bro Code. There's tension coming from Ava and Barrett resisting the temptation to give in to their immense attraction, the thrill of possibly getting caught by Ava's family, and the slight forbidden aspect caused by the veritable bro code.
WHAT DID YOU LIKE ABOUT THE AUDIOBOOK?
It was my first audiobook with a duet narration (the male narrator speaks all male character lines, and the female narrator speaks all female character lines), and wow oh wow. I love it!
Narrators' performance and the narration style choice can make or break the audiobook experience, so I'm happy to say that the duet between Jacob Morgan and Ava Erickson killed it! I could feel the chemistry and spark between the characters even more, both thanks to the narrators' wonderful performance and the duet narration style. Ava Erickson and Jacob Morgan are both strong narrators. They brought Ava and Barrett to life, along with their dreams, feelings, and sizzling sexual tension.
WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THIS AUDIOBOOK TO A FRIEND? IF SO, WHY?
Definitely! This is a cute, fun, and enjoyable audiobook that is hot with a capital H. If you haven't tried duet audiobooks, you should try with this one. All I can say is it honestly changed my life. We need more duet audiobooks, preferably by this couple. I can't get enough!

4.5 Spicy sassy and Sweet Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟.
OK can I just start this off by saying it is a little disconcerting when the male MC in the book has the same name as you, even though spelled differently.... especially when he is supposed to be so swoon worthy and hot, I just really couldn’t get past the part that we shared a name.... but other than that this was a spectacular fun spicy book filled with everything you expect from Kendall Ryan.... The last book I read from her admittedly was almost too sweet coming from her... but this book has all the sass and fire that I love from her books!
Ava was fabulous, I might need to add her to my book BFF list! Full of sass and spice and determination...Barrett was a great guy and admittedly hot (probably would’ve been hotter if he had a different name) there is definite chemistry between these two and it has been smoldering for many years... the problem Barrett and Ava’s brother are best friends.... and it definitely goes against the bro code to date your best friends little sister... now my oldest two children are 13 months apart brother and sister, and little sister dated big brothers friend very briefly.... and let me just say friend is no longer friend.... it did not go over well at all with my oldest son! Although now that they are older, who knows? Although it is irrelevant because my daughter has been with the same guy for ages....
Now back to the book.... as I mentioned I adored the characters, I also thought the pacing was perfect.... this might be one of my favorite reads from Kendall Ryan, it’s definitely in the top three!
Absolutely recommend to fans of Romance with spice and fabulous characters... and some much loved Snark😍🔥🔥

I picked Bro Code out on a whim because I need a rebreather after reading a dark romance novel. I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by Jacob Morgan (my favorite!!) and Ava Erickson. It's my first time listening to her and surely won't be my last. Her voice was soft, soothing and distinct. Both narrators are suited for the characters and did a wonderful job on it
The narration of this book was refreshing and different from the ones I've listened to. Usually the voice actor / actress narrates the entire chapter regardless the dialogue involves female or male characters. In this case, it's a duet narration wherein Jacob Morgan narrates all male characters and Ava Erickson for all female characters. I really like this style because it's an alternating dialogue and it feels like the characters are actually conversing. I have nothing against on traditional audiobooks but I find this more realistic.
The story is a forbidden tomance about a guy falling in love with his best friend's younger sister. The plot is cliché but it's really good. Barrett Wilson is a lawyer at one of the most prestigious firms in Chicago. He returns to Indiana to celebrate Nick's father's retirement. He and Nick grew up together and were best friends for a long time. They were like brothers and admittedly Barrett was closer to his family than his own. Despite of his busy schedule, he couldn't miss the event. He'll be staying on the Saunders for the weekend and he'll see the girl he admires. Nick's younger sister, Ava.
Barrett and Ava's story was simply cute. These two flirted back and forth igniting their sexual tension. They shared romantic and sweet moments and I enjoyed it. The sexy times are hot! I don't have any complains with the characters because they're great. I must say the ending was slightly flat. If you need a quick romance read, give Kendall Ryan's books a try.

Sultry, sassy, and sweet!
Bro Code is an enchanting, passionate read that mixes the the hardworking, caring Ava who’s determined to not only keep the family business up and running but her hands off the man of her dreams, and the chivalrous, delectable Barrett who may finally take the risk and act on his feelings for his best friend’s sister.
The writing is effortless and fluid. The supporting characters are fun-loving and engaging. And the plot sweeps you away into a push-pull storyline filled with tantalizing mishaps, witty banter, shameless flirting, red-hot chemistry, family, friendship, light drama, romance, and love.
I’m not sure there’s a Kendall Ryan book out there that isn’t well written with the perfect mix of heart, humour, and heat and Bro Code is no exception. I loved the story, I loved the characters, I loved the swoon-worthy happy-ever-after ending, and I especially loved the cover 😋!

Bro Code is a standalone and is another fun, flirty, steamy and light-hearted read. Bro Code was an easy read. I read it in one sitting and it was just a simple, no fuss- no muss light romantic book.
Ava’s has had a crush on her brother’s best friend forever and now Barrett and Ava are staying at Ava’s childhood home. Ava wants to have a little fun, but Barrett is all about the Bro Code, you just don’t tap your best friend’s little sister.
I love this simple premise. The tension between Ava and Barrett is fun and sweet. I liked they were staying at Ava’s childhood home and the interaction between the parents was sweet.
The best part was the steam! If you have a guy’s abs on the cover, I expect steam. Just saying! And Bro code delivers.
Ava has priorities and she wants to focus on her father’s business. I value that Ava is a good person and wants to do the right thing, but she can be kind of annoying (good people are like that for me).
Barrett’s bro code honor was kind of annoying too only because Ava’s twenty-five and does it really matter at that point? But you can admire that he cares about his friendship that much and Barrett is definitely a giver.
Overall, Bro Code is a sweet and fun book.

MY THOUGHTS:
The story flowed smoothly and was fast paced, the drama was not over the top and in Kendall Ryan’s style was sexy, witty and steamy. A sweet light read and feel good story.
I didn't foresee the angst that was coming, it was a surprise twist and cleverly delivered.
I would have liked to see more of Nick incorporated in the story to really highlight the strength of his friendship as it would have made Barrett's struggle with revealing his feelings for Ava more intense.
A more serious romance for Kendall but a great addition to her works. As usual Kendall has gifted us with yet another deliciously hot book cover!

If you’re a fan of Kendall Ryan and her writing style you will love Ava and Barrett’s forbidden love story.

The story is in duet narration which is my favourite as it adds a whole other dimension to the audio. Jacob was matched well for Barrett and had a sexy bedroom tone with a young but still mature sound.
Ava Erickson is an excellent female narrator and one of my favourites, her sweet young voice was a perfect fit for her character.

That pretty much sums up this story.
Actually, the only thing that wasn’t average about this story, was the Heroes XXL-special-order-condom-elephant-trunk-cock! Its enormity was referred to often and seemed to be his most impressive/unique trait.
Sure, the story had its fun moments and cute times, but I’m sure we’ve all read these ‘falling in love with best friends sister’ stories before a bazilliontrillion times, and it this point they’re all blending into one for me. There was just nothing special about it. Apart from the big dick.

I am in this weird semi book slump at the moment. I am spending more time searching for my next book than actually reading. So I was pretty excited when I finally got excited about reading Boyfriend for Hire. Then I realized I didn't have it on my kindle so I checked out Amazon and saw it was $5. Then I talked myself out of buying it.
I have a habit of one clicking books then not being in the mood to read them. Proof of that is that I have over a thousand books on my kindle and since a few of them are previous Kendall Ryan titles I talked myself into reading one of them. And honestly I think that was a mistake.
Ava was a little too perfect. And Barrett was a little too focused on the wrong things. I did feel their chemistry and that was pretty much all I felt. They kept saying how they couldn't be together while being together. They literally put up zero fight. Even if I felt their reasons were stupid they kept throwing them out like confetti while still doing whatever they wanted.
I probably would have enjoyed this if I read it at a different time but since I'm an idiot and it wasn't what I was in the mood to read it just didn't work out for me today. So now I'm going to suck it up and spend the $5 I should have done in the first place, if I don't get distracted along the way.

I really enjoyed Bro Code by Kendall Ryan.
The storyline was entertaining, the writing was well done and all the characters were fun getting to know.
Watching Barrett and Ava's relationship unfold had me laughing, smiling and swooning all through the book. These two had amazing chemistry and totally belonged together.

Sometimes I forget how satisfying it can be to read a straightforward, mutual-want-with-lust story, big brother’s sister or not.
In truth, I don’t understand the ‘bro code’ that’s laid out like the holy grail in romance—why shouldn’t the brother’s best friend or the best friend’s brother or some other permutation like this be off-limits, particularly he’s a decent guy? The only reason I can see this being frowned upon is if the man in question is a degenerate, senseless moron, in which case, merely reflects badly on the person who’s laid out the code in the first place, for even calling said moron a friend.
But that’s the only gripe I have for Kendall Ryan’s ‘Bro Code’. Bewildered as I was by all the sneaking around, Barrett felt like a decent protagonist who had a tiny bit of admiration for his best friend’s sister, who wants him back. Despite their divergent lives, the development of their relationship from awkward door greeting to the bed seemed believable as well, with a level-headed heroine who did seem to know what she was doing despite being 5 years younger. (This age difference doesn’t even register on my scale)
The clichéd big penis business (condom have to be mail ordered because normal ones won’t fit) that made the book more porn-y however, made me wince. Playing to the bigger is better stereotype, this was probably one of those times that wasn’t necessary—I didn’t need convincing about Barrett’s ding dong and Ava’s waxing lyrical over it.
In all, a decent easy read, low on the angst, perfect for a lazy afternoon.

Ultimamente estoy recuperando mi antigua fe en Kendall Ryan, hacia bastante tiempo que uno de sus libros no me conquistaba, no obstante, Bro Code me agrado mucho. No es que sea una historia especial o novedosa, es simple y el tema que trata esta un poco manido pero realmente me entretuvo mas de lo que imagine.
La relacion de Ava y Barrett me encanto. Me gusto su quimica en comun y ellos como personajes independientes tambien me simpatizaron. Soy una gran fan de los romances " chico - hermana de su amigo " pero en ocasiones no termino del todo satisfecha debido a que la autora hace un drama innecesario ( y un poco absurdo ) cuando al fin la relacion sale a la luz, en cambio, en este caso, cuando Nick ( hermano de Ava y mejor amigo de Barrett ) descubre su relacion oculta no hace ninguna tonteria o monta un gran problema porque ellos esten juntos, y honestamente esa forma de llevar la historia le hizo ganar puntos a Bro Code.
La lectura se te pasa en un suspiro, es cierto que no es una novela excesivamente larga pero aun asi se agradece que pasar las paginas no sea una tortura, sobretodo porque el estilo de la autora es muy fluido.
En definitiva, Bro Code es una historia divertida, grata y sencilla que te hara pasar un momento muy bueno. Yo personalmente no esperaba que fuera a ser tan buena lectura.

I felt like I was on Kendall Ryan binge this weekend reading two of her books in a row. And I love he writing, so I enjoyed the back to back stories.
Bro Code is an example of where Kendall shines - she writes realistic characters with a relevant story line, which makes it easier for readers to relate to. And I love when everything plays out in a seamless timeline and nothing is rushed, it flows naturally.
Bro Code is exactly what you think it is - following the bro code - the unspoken rule amongst men - sisters are off limits being a part of that unspoken code. But like all rules, spoken or not, they are meant to be broken.
Ava and Barrett have been around each other since they were kids. Barrett and Ava have never voiced their attraction to each other because of Nick, Ava's brother. They have not seen each other in years due to Barrett moving away to focus on his career and Ava focusing on herself and her future.
Barrett returns to his hometown for Ava and Nick's father's retirement party and the tension between these two is as thick as ever. I love that they both flirt and taunt one another not that they are older and aren't as shy about their feelings. However, bro code is still an issue and they can't break that.
Kendall gave us a lot of tension and steam in this one; it oozed off the pages. I give Barrett credit for his resitance because Ava was ready to have it after their first kiss - bro code be damned!!
Everything played out really well and I lpved that there wasn't any lack of communication or immaturity between the characters. They were adults and handled everything maturely. My only gripe was how quickly things played out in the end and wanted a bit more about how those big moments played out.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one and look forward to more Kendall.

Barrett and Ava have been crushing on each other for years and now Barrett has come home to celebrate the retirement of Ava's father as Ava takes on the responsibility of running the family factory business. Sparks fly and chemistry turns into more for Ava and Barrett but there is just one problem Ava is Barrett's BFF's little sister and Barrett doesn't want to cross the line. I really liked this book, the characters were so likable, the chemistry between them was wonderful and the sex was hot. The story line was interesting as Ava fight's to keep her fathers factory running, why Barrett the hot shot lawyer fight's with his painful reluctance to be with Ava and honor the "Bro code".

Well, Ms. Kendall Ryan did it again. As you may guess from the title, this one is a forbidden between the hero and his best friend’s little sister. Ava has a huge crush on her brother’s friend Barrett since she was wearing braces. Ava is five years younger so Barrett is always a little out of touch until now…. Barrett is a big shot lawyer in Chicago, slated to be partner of his firm. What he can’t afford is clingy women who want commitment. Ava’s parents and her brother Nick have always been a second family to Barrett so when he was invited to celebrate Ava’s father’s retirement party Barrett was elated. That is until he found out he will be sleeping under the same roof as Ava. What is worse is when he sees Ava again for the first time. She is no longer the little sister with braces and boy problems. Ava is all grown up, beautiful, sexy, smart, feisty. She well … has needs and is pretty bold about it
Oh man, between the “anaconda”, the awkward fall outside the store, and the banters … this book is freaking hilarious. Of course, the sexual tension is off the charts. Ava and Barrett know they are off-limits to each other. One careless move would ruin their friendship as well as Barrett and Nick’s friendship. But they cannot seem to stop falling for each other. I like Ava and Barrett’s story – it’s not all about sexual attraction and lust. They have a special friendship bond and passionate love for each other. There is something cute about them … Since Barrett is older, he is more protective, caring and sweet toward Ava. I like the side story of Ava’s determination to take over her father’s business and the little drama that went with it. Could not ask for a more perfect ending to this romance.

Bro Code is another fun and sexy novel from Kendall Ryan. I loved Barrett and Ava and thought their chemistry, banter and attraction was fantastic. I loved the push and pull between them and the way they filled a missing piece in one another. I could not get enough.
Barrett Wilson has a problem. A successful attorney, living his best life in the city, he is visiting his hometown and realizes he has a problem. He is a follower of the Bro Code and among the important commandments, "thou shall not sleep with your bestfriend's little sister" is proving to be the most difficult one for him. The reason: Ava Saunders. One look at his bestfriend's little sister and it was ON. But with one weekend of heated looks and touches, they realize they both want to explore their chemistry. But when a work conflict arises, will they both realize there is more at stake here than their careers?
Gah!! This story was so fun. It had everything I love in a Kendall Ryan story. It was emotional and honest. I loved being in Barrett's head seeing him so conflicted with his feelings for Ava, his misgivings about the bro-code and his ability to balance a relationship with his grueling work schedule. I thought this story hit all the right spots and I never wanted it to end.
All in all this was fantastic and I look forward to reading more books from this author in the future. Bravo! 4 stars! ~ Ratula

Kendall Ryan's book get their magic touch, elegant and sexy, hillarious and hot at the same time. It's something that draws closer, an invisible power of attraction. But this time I didn't completely connect with this story. It's good but not what I thought it would be.
Basically is a mouse-cat game. And it might be interesting and sexy, because it's dangerous and off limits. It made by stollen moments and forbidden kisses and touches, BUT... there is when it breaks down he always plays the "bro Code" card to slow it down. And it affects the whole story. Because it's like yes I want you...I want you so much...and I start kissing you and "enjoy the forbidden fruit" and then suddenly...wait it's the BroCode...I can't...we can't as much as we want this we can't because of the ...bro Code! It's exasperating for certain things. It's like I let you take a bit of the most delicious cake and then stop you and take it from you because...it going to make your gain weight! Seriously?
But let's turn back on the best parts. Yes Barrett and Ava is a off limits relationship, but they both can't deny the evidence.He is her secret crush and Barrett well, Barrett let's say isn't indifferent to her sex appeal.

Basically is a mouse-cat game. And it might be interesting and sexy, because it's dangerous and off limits. It made by stollen moments and forbidden kisses and touches, BUT... there is when it breaks down he always plays the "bro Code" card to slow it down. And it affects the whole story. Because it's like yes I want you...I want you so much...and I start kissing you and "enjoy the forbidden fruit" and then suddenly...wait it's the BroCode...I can't...we can't as much as we want this we can't because of the ...bro Code! It's exasperating for certain things. It's like I let you take a bit of the most delicious cake and then stop you and take it from you because...it going to make your gain weight! Seriously?
But let's turn back on the best parts. Yes Barrett and Ava is a off limits relationship, but they both can't deny the evidence.He is her secret crush and Barrett well, Barrett let's say isn't indifferent to her sex appeal.

The best thing I love about him is how much Ava's brilliant mind turns him on.
Kendall Ryan is one of my all-time favorite romance authors. In this standalone, she delves into brother's best friend romance. The romantic tension, kissing and petting scene made me quiver with anticipation. The conflict is a little on the heavy side but there's such a swoon-worthy happily ever after that it made the conflict worthwhile.
Run, don't walk, and pick up the romance today! You'll fall in love with Barrett and Ava, just like I did.

I'm officially a Kendall Ryan fan to the bones. She not only delivers great stories, but her heroes are always men you really want to get lucky and meet them in real life.

Cute. Predictable. Swoonworthy.
Bro Code is probably the dumbest kind of code ever. However, the book was entertaining and I really enjoyed it. I still think boys are idiots for following this stupid code but there are some winners in my book for the guys that break it.
It's a dual POV from Ava and Barrett. Ava is the younger sister of Barrett's best friend. Ava has had a crush on Barrett for the longest time. She has also taken over her dad's factory which is a lot to take in. Barrett has also had a crush on Ava for the longest time. However, the "BRO CODE" has made her forbidden to touch, look at, like, or breath in her direction. She's basically off limits.
When meeting Barrett he only cares about his job. He wants to make partner at the law firm he works for and he doesn't want a family right now.. or ever. All he wants is Ava. Too bad she's forbidden and shit. Stupid bro code.
Right?
Ha! Nothing goes has planned for these two. Things start to happen and it was obvious that the whole bro code book would be thrown out the window. Their crushes and attraction came to the surface. Once they started something.. well, they couldn't stop.
Their chemistry was crazy and off the roof. I loved them together and really wanted them to not break up. Of course things don't go the way I want them too. I accepted it and prayed like hell for them to get back together. The ending was my favorite and kind of laughable.
Of course this book had some twists and turns. All of it predictable but I still enjoyed the crap out of this book. I think my favorite secondary character would be Nick. He's the best friend and older brother and he's HILARIOUS. I loved how he still wasn't cool with them being together.. even at the end of the book.
Overall, I enjoyed this cute book. I really enjoy Kendall's writing and I will definitely be picking up another book.
