Excerpt from An Address, Occasioned by the Opposition Which Originated in Cincinnati, Ohio, Against the Attempts to Stop the Sabbath Mails: Delivered in the Associate Reformed Church, in Hamilton, on the Last Sabbath in Dec; 1829

Whether the petitioners adopted the most happy method of obtaining the object which they had in view, is a question on which I am incapable of forming an Opinion. 1 am only con cerned to show that the fact of petitioning bears on its face no evidence of evil design - that indeed the design was good - and that apparently, the object might have been granted without any disastrous results.
