A lifelong artist, Lotta Jansdotter has been creating patterns and motifs for fun since childhood and professionally since 1996. Her organic, playful, and timeless designs have appeared on everything from sewing and quilting fabrics to rugs, bedsheets, baby gear, dishes, and more. For Paper, Pattern, Play, Lotta happily focuses on the most basic and versatile of paper. Here she presents a colorful collection of both iconic favorites and brand-new creations, printed on a combination of perforated uncoated paper and cardstock, all meant to be torn out and enjoyed. She also shares prompts and instructions for creating easy, fun, and whimsical projects, including party decorations and favors, games, gift tags, gift wrap, labels, stickers, stationery, and assorted, as Lotta likes to say, bits and bobs.
If you like scrapbooking, and making projects out of paper, this would be an excellent book to purchase. It has very high quality material, with modern and beautiful patterns. A reviewer stated that the book was less than 50 pages, and that is true if one is just counting the written material and instructions. (Perhaps that is all one can see if you buy the ebook edition.) However, the 200 other pages are beautiful papers, postcards, stickers, gift wrap, and other paper treats that can be detached and used to create many projects. A treasure of a crafting book!
So....I got this as an ebook from the library. And everything says that this should be a 240 page book. But, in fact, it's only 34 pages. The projects are very simple, and while the patterned paper and finished products look nice, I would probably not have bothered with this had I known it was going to be less than 50 pages. Something of a waste, in my opinion.
