It was just a crush. That’s what Alice Rodriguez told herself the first time she locked eyes with Odeta De Mornay. Just a crush, like the kind she had taught herself to suppress. Alice was a successful lawyer and married, but as she approached 30, she felt lost. Something was missing. Or rather, someone was missing. Alice soon finds herself helping Odeta, whose brother is in prison for a murder that she swears he didn’t commit. Alice takes the case, if only to spend more time with Odeta and sort through her feelings. But Alice has always kept her true feelings a secret. And Odeta has secrets of her own. When their investigation takes Alice and Odeta to a small town, they unearth lies that have been kept secret for years. But they also learn that sometimes the hardest lies to expose are those we tell ourselves. This title contains explicit sexual language and adult situations, as well as the creative use of ice cubes.
Yes; finally a coming out story of a lesbian who is full figured and the author showcases her beautifully. Almost every other book I have read, the authors create characters are flawlessly beautiful or nondescript. Lesbians come in all shapes, sizes and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Kudos to Ms. Dylan for creating a character that we can relate to. This is a mystery about a reclusive artist, a wrongfully imprisoned man who allegedly murdered the artist, a female hypnotist and a, married to a man, attorney, named Alice who is hired to prove who really killed the artist. It is also Alice's journey of finding love and acceptance of herself.
Its unique & captivating storyline, spectacular in its complexity, fluidity & intensity creates a very compelling & entertaining book. With a nice flowing effortless progression, engaging narrative incorporating such formidably vulnerable & passionately flawed characters made it an easy read.
Continuing with a good, entertaining story with interesting characters & hot sex scenes extremely well written… your only thought is—What's gonna come next?
